Amy Dowden has had to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing for the rest of the series following an injury.
The pro dancer, 34, didn’t perform on Saturday’s show (November 2). It came after she fell ill the previous weekend and was treated in hospital.
Now, Strictly has issued a new statement. They revealed that Amy has suffered a foot injury.
In an emotional message, Amy has said her “heart is breaking” over the news.

Amy Dowden pulls out of Strictly
The statement read: “Sadly, Amy Dowden MBE will not be partaking in the rest of the competition this year. Whilst Amy focuses on her recovery following a foot injury, fellow Professional Dancer, Lauren Oakley, will step in as JB’s dance partner.
“The health and wellbeing of everyone involved in Strictly are always the utmost priority. The whole Strictly family sends Amy love and well wishes.”
On her Instagram, Amy said: “My heart is breaking right now. The past few months I finally felt like me again. Cancer was no longer the first thing I thought of when I woke up.
“It was choreography, music choices, which dances in which order, what we needed to work on. I felt free again. My goal since hearing those words you have cancer was to get back on the Strictly dance floor. It’s been such a challenge to get back on, one I devoted 2024 to.
“There was no feeling like dancing with my Strictly family. Then I was partnered with the talented, kind, gentle soul JB.
Amy’s statement
“Every day our training room was chilled, hardworking, and full of big smiles.”
Amy said she feels “so sad, so upset and asking why me”. She added: “Why now that our journey has been cut short? My heart right now is breaking having to pull out of the competition due to a foot injury.
“I know only too well ‘this too shall pass’ and I’ll be soon better and back dancing. Something I’ve had to get used to in my life. I’m sure at some point we will dance again JB. To all the fans, to my loved ones, my Strictly family, thank you.
“JB I know you and Lauren will continue to ace that dance floor. I’ll forever be your biggest cheerleader.”

Strictly latest
The previous Saturday (October 26), Amy was taken to hospital after she became unwell following the live show.
After the ordeal, a Strictly spokesperson said: “Amy Dowden MBE is doing much better and the Strictly family send her love and wish her well.

“She is delighted that fellow professional dancer, Lauren Oakley, is able to step in for rehearsals and to perform in Saturday’s show for JB Gill’s Couple’s Choice dance.”

Meanwhile, a rep for Amy said at the time: “Amy was feeling unwell and so an ambulance was called as a precaution.”
This past Saturday (November 2), Amy still appeared on the show. She watched her celeb partner JB Gill dance with Lauren Oakley.
JB and Lauren bagged an incredible 39 points out of 40 for their Couple’s Choice routine. Following the routine, Amy gushed on Instagram: “So proud thank you all for voting! But mostly so proud of you both and forever grateful! @jbgill @laurenmayoakley week 8 woooooohooooooo!!!”
Wynne Evans got plenty of people talking after performing a Strictly Come Dancing first in his routine on the programme.
The Welsh singer was back on screens on Saturday (November 2) for another episode of the glitzy BBC One show. In the latest instalment, the 2024 cast took part in the show’s first-ever Icons Week, paying homage to legendary musical artists.
However, it’s fair to say Wynne Evans’ Strictly performance left plenty of people divided…

Wynne Evans performs show first on Strictly
During Strictly on Saturday night (November 2) Wynne and pro partner Katya Evans performed a rumba to Shirley Bassey’s This Is My Life.
But at the end of the emotional routine, the singer took over from the band who were singing. And in what appears to be a show first, Wynne sang the final line.
After their dance, which ended up scoring 30 points, Host Tess Daly gushed over the routine. She told Wynne: “You blew the hair off the back of my arms there. That was something.”
While judge Anton Du Beke described it as “the best ending to any number I’ve ever seen in my entire life”.

Fans divided by Wynne’s Strictly performance
However, viewers at home were not too impressed. Rushing over to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person fumed: “I’m sorry this isn’t a singing competition. How is it fair that Wynne gets to sing at the end?? Always giving him new rules & special treatment.”
This isn’t a singing competition
A second added: “Why was Wynne allowed to sing? Other singers that have been contestants haven’t sung.” A third penned: “This isn’t a singing competition so that doesn’t seem fair.”
Strictly viewers soon shared their thoughts (Credit: BBC)
‘He should be really proud’
But other Strictly viewers were quick to defend Wynne and applaud him for his performance.
Wow Goosebumps
“Really loved Wynne’s routine & the powerful & inspiring message it gave, not to mention the amazing vocal finish at the end! He should be really proud!” said one person. Another person on X gushed: “I enjoyed it.”
A third penned: “I loved that Rumba & when Wynne sang the ending line wow Goosebumps. Choreography by @Mrs_katjones was beautiful & powerful.”

Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has returned to social media following a week-long absence after her backstage collapse last weekend (October 26).
“@jbgill it says everything how you’ve been able to adapt to a new professional, produce such a great number (so excited for everyone to see) whilst supporting me! I’m so lucky! You’re a STAR! I know what tonight means to you! Thank you!
“@laurenmayoakley thank you, I knew Jay would be in safe hands and have a fabulous time with you! You know I’ve always adored your dancing since I ran up to you in Blackpool tower at 8 years old to tell you! Thank you darling!”
She then paid tribute to the woman who has choreographed tonight’s Couple’s Choice routine. “@lizzie.gough you for choreographing such a brilliant routine! LOVE IT! Thank you!”

‘So grateful’
Finally, Amy gave a shout out to all her loyal fans following the outpouring of support following her hospitalisation.
“Also a big thank you for all the love and support I’ve received this past week. So grateful and certainly helped!” She ended the post by saying: “Now tune into the first-ever ICONS week on Strictly.”
JB was quick to comment on the post. He told Amy: “You are the best. Your belief in me is so uplifting and your fighting spirit is second to none! Thank you for being my biggest champion and I know that @laurenmayoakley and I will do you PROUD.”

“Big hugs Amy, I know only too well. Once our brains think we’re fit to conquer the world again, our bodies will tell us different after cancer treatment. So rest up, and enjoy the well-earned rest, although I know it’s frustrating. Once again big hugs to you.”
Another echoed the same sentiment and said: “Hope you are doing okay. I am a year behind you in my breast cancer journey. Finished chemo two weeks ago. Energy but not yet hair returning. Thanks for telling your story. Wishing you well.”
Meanwhile, another shared: “Big hugs and love Amy. Please look after yourself.” “I’ll be voting for these guys tonight in honour of you Amy. Hope you are feeling better. Please rest as much as you need don’t worry about the show, you are more important,” said another.
“Nobody will ever be able to replace you for your dedication and love for Strictly,” another declared, “But I’m sure @laurenmayoakley will do you proud.”
“I love watching you in Strictly but your health comes first,” said another. “Strictly is gonna feel so weird without you being there tonight,” another told the dancer.
When probed by Janette Manrara, he insisted he isn’t going to fall for the pressure.
Janette pointed out: “On the results show, Motsi said that you are becoming the one to beat in the competition.
“How much pressure has that put on you in training?”
Jamie appears to be trying to keep his cool regarding Motsi’s high praise, insisting: “Well, I certainly don’t know about that.
“I have said from day one that I am not falling into any pressure traps. Everything can change so quickly. The competition in this show is unbelievable.

Strictly star Jamie on It Takes Two
“So, I am certainly not taking anything for granted.
“We are just trying to improve and I am trying to get better every week. For myself, of course, but also for Michelle.”
Despite brushing of the praise, Jamie definitely wowed with his Adamm’s family style American Smooth over the weekend and Michelle Tsiakkas’ choreography was even dubbed as “pure genius” by Shirley Ballas.
This week, Jamie and Strictly pro Michelle will be dancing a Samba to Faith by George Micheal.
The star has commented on just how much he loves his Latin performances, so we have high hopes for his next take to the dance floor.
Evidently, viewers feel the same, as one penned to X: “His Salsa was great and his hips are back so I’m looking forward to this. Not keen on the song for a Samba though.”
Another said: “Jamie is fab in Latins, but is there enough samba in Faith?”
A third added: “Jamie and Michelle smashed it again on Saturday.”

Star of Strictly Jowita Przystal has broken her silence about whether she and her celeb partner Pete Wicks have a romance going on.
The Polish dancer and the former TOWIE star have been entertaining the nation each week with their strong chemistry and impressive moves. Last weekend, the pair performed a Rumba to Oasis’ Don’t Look Back In Anger and received enough public votes to go further in the competition.

Strictly star Jowita Przystal clears up ‘romance’ rumours with Pete Wicks
As Jowita and Pete make it further into the competition, rumours have continued to suggest that a romance has been forming behind the scenes.
While at the Pride Of Britain Awards last night (October 21), Jowita was put on the spot about whether there was any truth to the headlines.
“We have very good chemistry together as friends, we really get on well with each other, and we have so much fun together. And dancing is a bit like acting, so we’re telling a story every night on Saturday night, and I think we’re doing a pretty good job with that so…” she told OK! Magazine on the red carpet.
Clearing up the rumours, Jowita added: “But we’re very good friends, and I love him so much as a brother, and I think we’re going to stay friends for life, to be honest.”
Jowita insists she and Pete are just friends (Credit: BBC)
‘Sam is my favourite’
She even gushed about Pete’s best friend, I’m A Celeb winner Sam Thompson, who she has since met.
“Don’t tell Pete, but Sam is my favourite, I honestly love it when he comes round to the rehearsal room, he’s such a ray of sunshine,” she expressed.
“I always welcome him in, I absolutely adore this man, and I think him and Pete have such a beautiful relationship, their friendship is above and beyond. To have him and to have his support, he literally supports Pete all the way, so it’s just so lovely to see that.”
Head judge Shirley Ballas also agreed, saving JB and Amy.
Paul was sent home by the judges (Credit: BBC/Guy Levy)
When asked by Tess Daly about their time on the show, Paul said: “It’s been really good. For anybody I talk to, I would say you’ve got to go on this show. It’s amazing – everybody.
“There’s a Tottenham fan over there called Lincoln and even he’s nice! It’s been amazing, honestly, amazing. I loved every minute of it, I’ve had a great teacher.”
He added of Karen: “She’s been amazing, absolutely amazing and I couldn’t wish for a better coach. I’ve loved every minute of it.
“I can dance now – I’ve won because I can dance, I couldn’t dance before and I can half dance now. It’s a bonus, absolute bonus.”

Karen and Paul on Strictly
Meanwhile, Karen said: “Absolutely, you’ve been a joy. I’ve never giggled this much. My abs are really tight now. I am so proud of you. Every week you have showed up, you have improved.
“You’re what Strictly is about and I want to thank you for bringing such joy and just showing everyone that it is possible with a little bit of work and lots of giggles.”
Viewers were gutted to see Paul and Karen go. One person said: “I’m going to miss Paul. Knew he was never going to win, but he’s good fun.”
Another wrote: “Real shame to see Paul go I think. Clearly not the best dancer, but brought such great vibes to show and embodied what it’s about.”
Someone else added: “Gutted Paul is gone there are others who should’ve gone before him.”

Strictly tonight (Saturday, October 19) saw Dr Punam and Gorka Marquez perform a Viennese waltz together.
However, with their placing in tonight’s show, as well as their scoring, many a fan is fearing for their place in the competition…

Strictly tonight: Dr Punam performs a Viennese waltz
Tonight’s edition of Strictly saw Dr Punam and Gorka perform second.
They danced to a Viennese waltz to the tune of Billy Joel’s She’s Always a Woman.
In the VT, Dr Punam welcomed her son into the rehearsal studio, where he got to watch her practice alongside Gorka.
Their performance drew a great reaction from the crowd, who were on their feet applauding.
“You are exquisite,” Tess exclaimed as the couple joined her to talk to the judges.
Dr Punam seemed happy with how the dance went, describing it as “beautiful”.
Craig said the performance lacked energy (Credit: BBC)
Judges score Dr Punam and Gorka
Whilst Motsi was largely complimentary, she did call for “more energy” from Dr Punam.
Shirley Ballas gave similar comments, urging Dr Punam for more energy too.
Anton was of the opinion that Dr Punam keeps her dancing “to herself”. “You’ve got to share [it with the audience],” he said. He then went on to criticise her technique, saying she dances as if she’s “hesitant”.
“I just felt like it was a little too social, as though you were just going for a stroll in the park,” Craig then said. “It lacked musicality, it lacked energy in the body.”
When it came to scoring, Craig gave Dr Punam and Gorka a four. Motsi gave them a six, Shirley gave a five, and Anton gave a six. This gave the couple a score of 21, leaving them second from bottom on the night, only ahead of Paul Merson and Karen Hauer.

Strictly tonight: Fans worried for Dr Punam
Fans of the show were not happy with Dr Punam’s treatment tonight. Many were unhappy with the fact that she perfomed second, in the so-called “death slot”. Others were convinced that the judges’ scoring was “harsh” and could lead to her performing in the dance-off tomorrow (Sunday, October 20).
“No ngl I don’t like where is going with Punam like what do you mean 4 ??? her dance was literally underscored,” one fan complained.
“I don’t understand why Punam got such low scores tbh, it was a good dance,” another tweeted.
“Gorka and Punam aren’t even standing beside each other, I fear they’re going this week,” a third fan wrote.
“The score for Punam was so harsh omg they want her OUT,’ another said.
“Punam in the death slot again? oh they want her gone so bad,” a fifth worried fan tweeted.
“Punam in the death slot… they want her gone,” another theorised.
However, the episode also proved to be slightly controversial with many noticing Katya Jones moving her partner, Wynne Evans’ hand away from her waist. Viewers also noticed the dancer turning the opera singer down for a high-five, prompting plenty of comments.

The pair have since rubbished claims of a feud, with Katya saying the incidents were an “inside joke” between the pair. Wynne, on his BBC Radio Wales show said he was “heartbroken” over the response.
As you can see, Montell and Jamie are tied for the top spot for their showstopping routines, while Chris finds himself just below them with a score of 35 points. The bottom of the leaderboard sees Pete, Dr Punam and Paul. Who will be at risk this week?
Last week, we saw despite finishing high up on the leaderboard, Shayne ended up in the dreaded dance-off. Could there be another surprise?
Speaking about the decision in September to the Daily Star, Kai said: “Everyone wants to get a celebrity. Unfortunately, it wasn’t my time this series.
“Two boys couldn’t have one this series, and sadly I am one of them. Some of us don’t get partners, and that’s the way it is. Let’s see what happens next year. Hopefully, I’ll get one then.”

The star added: “The line-up of celebs this year is amazing. It is going to be a fantastic series, as it always is. We have been filming a lot of the group routines. There are some amazing ones. We have worked really hard through the summer to get them ready for the series. One of the ones I feature in is very funny.”
Last year saw Kai dance with Angela Rippon the show.

Tasha continues to divide Strictly Come Dancing viewers (Credit: BBC)
Several Strictly viewers have previously expressed concern that Tasha, who has worked professionally as a dancer, has an unfair advantage over her fellow celebrity contestants, many of whom have never danced before.
And it seems her almost perfect score has likewise been met with mixed opinions.
Tasha tens divide Strictly viewers
As Tasha (and her mum in the audience!) wiped away tears at her impressive score of 39, many fans took to social media to congratulate her.

One person tweeted: “FAB-U-LOUS! A 10 from me best dance of the night, completely deserves the first 9 from Craig (I think?) and the first 10s and 3 sets of 10s in fact! Phenomenal swivels, lifts & flips (lifts into the splits wow!) and so much amazing technique!”
Some else agreed: “Tasha is phenomenonal.”
“OMG Tasha.” Said a third.
One person even suggested Tasha had been undermarked, saying: “Tasha with the 39 is so deserved but i need her to get a 40.”

Born in Salford, Manchester, she is best known for playing Janeece Bryant in the BBC hit show, Waterloo Road. Chelsee has also appeared in Hollyoaks, Casualty and Strictly Come Dancing.

She also stars in Hollyoaks (Credit: Channel 4)
What else Dancing On Ice star has Chelsee Healey been in
Chelsee has kept herself booked and busy over the years. She kick started her career with a role in Waterloo Road, and went on to become a soap legend, playing Goldie McQueen in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks.
She made her Hollyoaks debut in 2016 and has remained there ever since. Chelsee also played Honey Wright in the medical drama Casualty, between 2014 and 2015.
Turning her hand to reality TV, Chelsee took part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2011 – coming in second place to McFly star Harry Judd.
Chelsee Healey on tragic death of her dad
The star’s father, Brian Healey, died when he was just 28 years old from pancreatitis. Chelsee was five years old at the time.
Brian, an air-conditioning engineer, fell ill while he was holidaying in Ibiza with Chelsee, her older sister Kate and mother Beverley. Unfortunately, he was taken to hospital but never made it back to the UK.
“I was only five but I still remember things about it,” Chelsee previously shared. She added: “A couple of weeks later I was in my nanna’s living room and she came off the phone to mum before giving me a huge hug. That was her way of saying my dad had passed away. I remember it like it was yesterday.”
As Mirror reports, Chelsee continued: “I remember Dad, I know he was really cheeky. My nan says I’m just like him. She always tells me how proud he’d be of me.”

How old Chelsee Healey was in Waterloo Road
Chelsee appeared in Waterloo Road for the first time in 2006 aged 18. She played Janeece Bryant in the hit BBC show until 2012, when she decided to leave.
At the time, Chelsee revealed the reason for her quitting was down to her wanting more challenges. She told What’s On TV: “I felt I needed to. I’ve been there for six years and it was time to do different things.”
However, 11 years later, and Chelsee reprised her role as Janeece Bryant for the 12th series.
Dancing on Ice star Chelsee Healey’s lockdown scandals
In June 2020, Chelsee found herself in hot water after she reportedly attended an illegal rave during lockdown.
As Metro reports, she was caught breaching strict coronavirus lockdown rules earlier in the year when she was snapped at a rule-breaking party in Manchester.
Chelsee later apologised and told The Sun she was “stupid and irresponsible” for breaking the rules. The TV star said: “It’s hard to resist the temptation of breaking the rules but they have to be followed.” The soap star also admitted she was “truly sorry” for her “silly mistake”.
However, that wasn’t the only time Chelsee found herself in trouble during the pandemic. Earlier on in the year, she was accused of breaking the rules by travelling 200 miles to visit Jake McLean, Lauren Goodger’s ex.
Chelsee’s secret boyfriend
Chelsee is currently loved-up with a guy called Eddie. The pair have been together for more than two years – but it wasn’t until last year when Chelsee finally revealed his identity.
Protective of her romantic life, Chelsee kept Eddie largely out of the public glare at first, often obscuring his face with emojis. However, his identity was later revealed in late 2023.
Chelsee and Eddie share one child together, a daughter called Cookie who was born in December 2023.

Actress Chelsee Healey ‘shaken’ over death of ex
Prior to her relationship with Eddie, Chelsee dated Jake McLean. The pair dated in 2020 but ended up splitting after struggling to make their long-distance romance last.
In July 2022, Jake tragically died after he was involved in a car crash in Bodrum, Turkey.
An insider at the time alleged to The Sun: “The news has understandably left Chelsee completely shaken. She knew Jake for a long time before they started seeing each other and things only ended because they lived too far apart.
“It’s obviously tragic news and Chelsee sends her condolences to all his family and friends.”
Chelsee’s convinced criminal ex
Back in 2014, Chelsee struck up a romance with Jack Malloy – but split in July 2016.
In November 2015, Jack served five months of a year-long sentence for dangerous driving, using a vehicle without insurance and driving while disqualified.
However, the pair reunited and Chelsee found out she was pregnant with their child. Defending her ‘bad boy’ Jack at the time, Chelsee told OK!: “It can be a bit upsetting because he’s really not.
“Jack has been tarnished because of the mistakes he has made in the past, but everyone makes mistakes. It’s a shame that people jump to conclusions about him because he’s a great guy, we’re very happy together.”
In 2011, Chelsee was a contestant on the ninth series of Strictly Come Dancing. She was partnered with Pasha Kovalev and the pair finished as runners-up.
However, during one dance routine, Chelsee revealed a bit too much after suffering a wardrobe malfunction. While dancing, her dress fell down, causing a panicked Chelsee try to stop the frock from exposing more of her cleavage.
Receiving feedback from the judges, Chelsee couldn’t contain her emotion as she started to break down. Judge Alesha Dixon attempted to reassure her and said: “You have nothing to cry about, my darling. It did not distract from the dance.”
Chelsee later took to X, then known as Twitter to tell her fans: “Mortified I got upset on Strictly! Just upset that I let @PashaKovalev down! He’s worked so hard and I messed up!”
Strictly Come Dancing lost another celebrity on Sunday night when Toyah Willcox was eliminated from the competition.
Alongside her dance partner, Neil Jones, the singer-songwriter and actress took part in the dance off against Paul Merson and his partner, Karen Hauer.
Toyah and Neil performed a Samba to Poor Unfortunate Souls from Little Mermaid
The pair performed their routines for a second time, with Toyah and Neil serving up an energising Samba to ‘Poor Unfortunate Souls’ from Little Mermaid, and Paul and Karen performing a Cha Cha to ‘The Magnificent Seven’ from The Magnificent Seven.
After the celebs had performed, judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke were unanimous in their decision, opting to save Paul and Karen. Head judge Shirley Ballas later agreed that she would also have saved the sports pundit.
Toyah described her time on the show as ‘the best two months’ of her life
When asked by Tess about their time on the show, Toyah, 66, said: “It’s been the best two months of my life, it has been fantastic. I have enjoyed every second. And you [Neil] have been phenomenal, thank you so much.”
Neil, meanwhile, added: “She has made me laugh so much, I have never seen someone work so hard – I’m the one asking for breaks every now and then!
The pair were in the dance off with Paul Merson and Karen Hauer
“She just kept going, she wanted to learn so much. If you saw her in the hallway she’s been practising. Everyone’s been telling me have you seen Toyah practising, she’s brilliant and she’s what Strictly is all about, and I’ve loved every moment.”
Elsewhere, Toyah thanked Neil for his continued support, adding: “You’re a great teacher, you’re a great friend as well. You’ve just given me a new zest for life, that’s the most valuable thing I’ve come away with.”
Strictly’s hotly-anticipated Movie Week saw Love Island star Tasha Ghouri top the leader-board with an impressive 34 out of 40 for her rumba with Aljaz Skorjanec. Dressed in head-to-toe pink, the duo performed their routine to Billie Eilish’s ‘What Was I Made For?’ from Greta Gerwig’s film, Barbie.
Meanwhile, Miranda actress Sarah Hadland sparked an emotional fan reaction with her touching tribute to Dame Maggie Smith who passed away last week.
Transforming into Harry Potter professor Minerva McGonagall, Sarah and her dance partner Vito Coppola performed a spellbinding Viennese Waltz to ‘Hedwig’s Theme’.
At the time, one fan commented: “Maggie Smith tribute is making my heart ache, beautiful way to honour a wonderful actress,” while a second added: “Sarah and Vito’s dance was gorgeous! Lovely tribute to Dame Maggie.”
Elsewhere, Dr Punam Krishan impressed the judges with her traditional Bollywood routine, while Shayne Ward and his dance partner Nancy Xu scored 33 points with their dazzling Viennese Waltz to ‘If I Can Dream’ from Elvis.

The duo danced to the song Bole Chudiyan from the Bollywood movie, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham….
During the VT before the performance, Dr. Punam spoke about how much dancing to the song meant to her.
Speaking about her youth, she said: “I never saw Indian girls dancing on mainstream television.
“So to be doing now, an Indian dance, on a platform like Strictly, it’s huge,” she then added.

Judges and Dr Punam emotional on Strictly tonight
After their performance, both Dr Punam and the judges were emotional.
Fighting back tears, Punam listened as Motsi Mabuse choked back tears to compliment the routine.
“I promised myself this year that I’m not going to cry,” she said. “But that really moved me.
“I know so many people are watching you right now and are so proud to see this on Strictly Come Dancing. I know that for a fact!” she then added.
In the Claudatiorium later, Dr Punam emotionally dedicated the dance to her late grandfather, but also to her mum, who was “worried that her girls would grow up not connected to their culture”.
The routine was described as “beautiful” (Credit: BBC)
Viewers in tears
It’s safe to say that fans of the show were in bits after watching Dr Punam’s routine.
“‘Punam princess from the Punjab!’ I was in floods of tears I felt so proud of you & my heart felt warm with the love & passion you brought to the dance floor! LUV U,” one fan tweeted.
“I’m in tears. Punam and Gorka’s Bollywood-inspired dance was wonderful. It was fabulous,” another gushed.
“Happy tears…amazing…Bollywood!!” a third wrote.
“I am in floods of tears that was beautiful,” another said.
Strictly star Nick Knowles has hit the headlines today (October 2) after being accused of “belittling” a woman he appeared alongside on an episode of hit BBC show DIY SOS: The Big Build.
Nick has fronted the renovation show since it started in 1999. The claims allegedly refer to an episode filmed in 2018 in North Shields during a home renovation for a family with a young disabled child.
The presenter – who is paired with Luba Mushtuk on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing – is alleged to have made string of lewd and offensive remarks to the woman.

Nick Knowles accused of ‘belittling’ woman on set of DIY SOS
Speaking to The Sun, the unnamed woman claimed she was left feeling embarrassed over what she called the star’s “inappropriate” behaviour.
The woman, who was 26 at the time, claimed she was interviewed by Nick for the show. She also went on to allege that he turned up late after sleeping in a van, and appeared hungover.
While telling her about his night out, she claimed Nick referred to the women in the North East as “munters”. He is also said to have told her that she was the “first good-looking woman he’d seen” in North Shields.
Then, when the woman dropped her microphone down her top, she claimed Nick said: “It’s a shame that’s not a camera.”
‘He can’t be expected to remember everyone he’s met’
The woman went on to allege: “I was mortified. He humiliated me in a very personal way in front of the whole crew. It was offensive. He was in his late fifties. He was being so inappropriate and I felt belittled. I had been looking forward to meeting him and he ruined the whole experience for me.”
She then went on to admit: “I remember just laughing along and feeling awkward. There were other people around and everyone was there to do a good deed for a little girl. I didn’t want to spoil that special moment.”
The woman also said that she posed for a picture with Nick. She added that he didn’t touch her or make any kind of pass at her.
The BBC refused to comment, but does have robust processes in place if issues are raised. Nick’s agent has been contacted for comment.
The Sun shared a reply from the TV star, saying Nick said he had “encountered hundreds of people in the course of his work and cannot be expected to remember what he has said to everyone he has met”.

Strictly Movie Week: Nick Knowles to dance the Charleston
On this week’s Strictly Come Dancing, it’s Movie Week. Nick and Luba will dance the Charleston to Rain on the Roof from Paddington 2.
It comes after he was almost forced to miss last week’s live show after injuring his arm while changing a tyre.
Strictly star Tom Dean has said he was left “very apologetic” after an accident with Nadiya Bychkova during rehearsals.
The pair appeared on Wednesday evening’s It Takes Two to talk with host Janette Manrara about their first live performance as well as their upcoming routine.
But Olympic swimmer Tom, 24, said they have suffered an accident in training.

Janette discussed Tom, who is 6 foot 5, having size 13 feet. She said: “Very good in the pool, maybe not so good in terms of making sure you’re not stepping on Nadiya’s toes…”
Tom replied: “Yeah… I’d be lying if I said that hasn’t happened once or twice.
“I went full in with the heel at one point by accident.”
Nadiya cut in: “On the broken toe!”
Tom added: “So all size 13 of them went down. I was very, very apologetic.”

Janette then asked Nadiya how her toe is, and the dancer replied: “These Ukrainian toes are very strong and they’re all fine. We’re making sure that’s not happening.”
Meanwhile, this weekend on Strictly Come Dancing, Tom and Nadiya will perform the Cha Cha Cha.
Tom said: “We spent about half an hour trying to learn how to walk and I just couldn’t wrap my head around it. But we’re working on it and we’re getting there.”
This week, Tom offered an update on their week two dance on Instagram.

“‘Your face is great! Let’s work on everything else.’”
Strictly Come Dancing was back with a bang tonight (September 21) with the first live show of its 2024 season.
The Saturday night favourite certainly did not disappoint, with emotional returns from beloved pros Amy Dowden and Aljaz Skorjanec, as well as a record-breaking score for JLS’ JB Gill.
But without a doubt it was the programme’s first ever blind contestant, comedian Chris McCausland, who stole tonight’s show.

The 47-year-old, who lost his sight at the age of 22 due to a devastating hereditary condition, received a much-deserved standing ovation for his Cha-cha-cha debut with Dianne Buswell.
One of the most extraordinary things I’ve seen in my entire life
Judge Anton Du Beke dubbed the dance “one of the most extraordinary things I’ve seen in my entire life”.
Chris McCausland stuns Strictly viewers
Chris’s performance equally went down a treat with the audience at home, with many compelled to share social media posts.
“This show never ceases to amaze me.” One person said on X, “I genuinely can’t believe what a sensational performance that was from Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell. Absolutely outstanding.”
“Chris – that was UNBELIEVABLE.” A second agreed.
Another person commented: “Chris McCausland…I love this man desperately #Strictly Dianne has performed a miracle.”
“Chris McCausland is a national treasure and it was bloody amazing.” Said a fourth person.
Somebody else also tweeted: “History made. Chris McCausland did the first ever dance by a blind contestant on Strictly. Dianne Buswell is amazing as well, to coach him in a way she’s never had to coach anyone else. Hard not to be a bit emotional.”
Amy Dowden is set to give her first live performance on Saturday evening since returning to Strictly Come Dancing for the latest series.
The 34-year-old will perform the waltz with her celebrity partner, JLS singer JB Gill, 37, following her departure from the show in 2023 after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
The Welsh dancer told PA that her return to the show with JB is the “perfect comeback”.
She said: “I think it’s going to be just really lovely (today), because it’s going to be beautiful for my family, because they struggled just as much as I did having to watch me go through it.”
Amy also revealed that watching the show was tough for her family last year. “It was a reminder of exactly what we were going through,” she said.
“It’s going to be one big celebration, this whole series for me.”
In an exclusive interview with HELLO! in May 2023, Amy revealed that she had breast cancer. She said: “I’ve been through quite a lot in my life and this is another hurdle. But if I’m positive and strong, I’ve got a really good chance of getting back out on the dance floor as soon as possible.”
In February this year, the Strictly pro announced she would be returning to the ITV show for series 22, revealing that there was “no evidence of disease” following a mastectomy and chemotherapy.
Amy made her emotional return to Strictly last week for the opening episode, where she dazzled in a pink one-shoulder ballgown with a stunning feather trim. The colour held a special significance being the colour of the pink ribbon worn to raise awareness for breast cancer.
The star performed a celebratory welcome dance with her fellow professionals, including a number with new dad Aljaž Škorjanec, who also returned to the series after a two-year absence.
The widow of the late Strictly star Len Goodman, Susan Barrett, and their son, James, are expected to receive a staggering amount of money after listing his long-standing private company into voluntary liquidation.
The dancing legend was a judge on Strictly between 2004 and 2016. From 2005, he was also a panelist on the US version, Dancing with the Stars, between 2005 and 2022. Six months after retiring, Len tragically died one day before his 79th birthday.
Len’s private company, Len’s Pleasurable Pastimes, was set up in 2009. The payout is expected to take place in a declaration of solvency filed at Companies House.

Strictly legend Len Goodman private company is worth millions
It’s good news for Len’s family as his company is terminating at a whopping £2 million in freehold property and £2.6 million in cash. In total, the company has made an estimated realisable value of assets worth over £4.6 million.
Len’s widowed wife Sue never had any children with the former Strictly judge. He shared his son, James, with his ex-wife, fellow dance partner Cherry Kingston. The pair married when he was 28 years old. However, she later left him and married a French millionaire.
Len’s second wife Sue was a co-director of his business. She was also a dance instructor.
Len previously stated that Sue “likes to stay out of the limelight.” No stranger to cracking a joke, Len also insisted he was the perfect partner to sleep with in bed.
“I am good in bed, I don’t snore. I don’t take the duvet, I just lay there and go straight off to sleep. That’s all you want out of a bloke.”

Strictly 2024 is back for its 20th year and already the nation’s favourite dance show has gone out with a bang.
Tonight’s episode (September 14) revealed who the 15 celebrities are paired with and what dances they will take on next week. However, a couple of fan-favourite professional dancers have not been teamed with a celebrity partner.
Despite making it to Blackpool with Angela Rippon last year, Kai Waddington has not been assigned a celebrity. Sadly, the same goes for Lauren Oakley and Carlos Gu.
That said, Lauren still admitted it feels “really special“ to be a part of Strictly’s 20th anniversary. “I’ve watched the show growing up. I watched the first episode, so I can’t believe I’m now part of it, especially in such a monumental year. It’s the best show on telly, so I’m not surprised it’s lasted 20 years, and I just feel really lucky to be part of it. It’s amazing,“ she said.

After joining the Strictly family in 2022, this is the first time Michelle has been assigned a partner. “It’s a dream come true to finally be able to dance on that Strictly dance floor with a partner and what better partner than Jamie to dance with. I’m so happy!” she said.
During week one, the pair will perform a Viennese Waltz to Benson Boone’s recent chart-topper, Beautiful Things.
Asked about his time on the Strictly Christmas Special last year, Jamie said: “That’s what swung me hook, line and sinker. I don’t quite know how I managed to win that, but this is a whole different ball game! I don’t think I can blag it for a whole 13 weeks.”

Asked if she felt pleased to be partnered with Johannes, Montell said: “How can you not be, I don’t think there is a person on this earth who doesn’t want to be partnered with JoJo, I’m over the moon!”
They then joked that their team name would be MoJo!

Asked if he thought theirs was a good match by the hosts, TV favourite Nick said: “Yes, absolutely. I wanted someone who’d be patient. She’s a world-class dancer, so how can it possibly go wrong? Although, it’s a bit like taking an F1 world champion and putting them in a beaten-up old builder’s van to race…. We’ll see how it goes. I have had a bit of body work done, though – a spray paint, literally!”
Their first dancing during week one will be a Jive to Starship’s We Built This City.

Strictly 2024 first look trailer
The launch trailer – airing on Wednesday September 4 at 19:29 on BBC One – is the opening act to what promises to be an unforgettable 22nd series.
“Our incredible professional dancers are gearing up to deliver a footwork fiesta unlike any other,” the BBC announced.
This year, viewers are invited to hop aboard the “Strictly bus”.
Choreographed by Jason Gilkison, the professional dancers perform to a medley featuring tracks from Vengaboys, Technotronic, and Steps, to name just a few.

The launch will also feature a “beautifully empowering celebratory dance” welcoming Amy Dowden back to the Strictly Ballroom.
Professional dancer Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023. She withdrew from Strictly in order to undergo chemotherapy. However, Amy announced that she would be making her comeback to the Strictly stage this year.
The launch show also marks the moment when the celebrity contestants and professional dancers are partnered.
“This series promises to be extra special with even more glitz, glamour, and unforgettable performances,” the BBC announced.
As the show enters its 20th year, the stakes are higher – especially after the controversy of the past few months.

Earlier in the year, actress Amanda Abbington departed from the show prematurely. She later accused her dance partner Giovanni Pernice of what she described as “nasty” behaviour behind the scenes.
“It’s bullying and it’s aggressive behaviour. There were also other instances that were deeply troubling, handled in the moment because, as a woman, that becomes a necessity. What else can one do?” She expressed to Channel 4.
Further controversy rocked the show in July when Graziano Di Prima was dismissed following allegations of misconduct against his 2023 celeb partner Zara McDermott.
In response to these incidents, Strictly has made significant changes behind the scenes.
To prevent any further issues of bullying and mistreatment in rehearsals, celebrities will now be accompanied by a chaperone. A member of the production team will now be present at all training sessions.
Additionally, they have introduced a celebrity welfare producer and a professional dancer welfare producer.
Insiders have also revealed that the BBC has added clauses to professional dancers’ contracts. One of these clauses includes mandatory participation in anti-bullying workshops.
