It’s Officially Over for These Shoe Trends

    [ad_1]

Trends come and go at the speed of light. One day, everyone’s wearing their “dad” sneakers, and the next, it’s all about ’80s throwback pairs (or so it seems). With new shoe styles emerging all the time, it can be hard to keep up. But for anyone curious to check in with their current shoe collection, we’re sharing the status on the trends we can safely pause buying and which have taken their place.

Naturally, as editors, we jump at the chance to share the best styles with you whenever a new trend bubbles up. If there’s a new shoe trend, you can be sure that we’ll be all over it, from the new It brands all the fashion girls are wearing to the pieces we’ve told you will sell out first next month. That said, the following styles are those we’ve simply noticed have been losing steam lately.

If you’re curious to find out which are the best shoe styles, according to our editors, and which styles are slowing down, keep reading. As always, though, I recommend holding onto pieces that you love because if they fit into your personal wardrobe you shouldn’t stop wearing them just because of the trend cycles.

  • This Is the #1 Flat-Shoe Trend Right Now, and I Love These 24 Pairs the Most

This Is the #1 Flat-Shoe Trend Right Now, and I Love These 24 Pairs the Most

    [ad_1]

Like many of you, I’ve retired most of my heels in recent years for, well, obvious reasons. Comfort is now my top priority when getting dressed, and I’m especially discerning when it comes to which shoes I’m going to wear. It’s no surprise then to see that a number of comfortable (but still very chic) flat-shoe trends have emerged this year. The number one among them? Loafers. Maybe it’s because they add a polished vibe to any outfit, maybe it’s because they’re practical and easy to wear, or maybe it’s because they’re a perennial favorite that will never really go out of style. Whichever the reason, they’re the dominating flat-shoe trend of the moment, and I’m so here for it.

If you’ve been eyeing the trend but haven’t found a pair you love just yet, then look no further than the 24 best pairs of loafers for women that I’ve pulled together here. I’ve curated a selection from some of my favorite retailers, and the styles range from on-trend chunky loafers to pretty chain-embellished loafers and classic penny loafers. In other words, you’re sure to find a pair you love, no matter your taste, budget, or any other factor. I know I’ve already fallen in love with each of these.

Simply continue on to see why these are my favorite loafers of all, and get inspired by a few outfit ideas along the way.

  • I Used to Hate This Boot Style, But These 21 Pairs Made Me Do a Total 180

I Used to Hate This Boot Style, But These 21 Pairs Made Me Do a Total 180

    [ad_1]

Normally, the first pair that comes to mind when I think of outdated shoe styles is a sock boot—period. Once utterly ubiquitous, the ultra-fitted silhouette was deemed “out” a few years back, and replaced by wider-leg knee-highs, cowboy boots, and anything with a lug sole attached. And yet, in recent weeks, I’ve found myself not only softening to sock boots again, but actually wanting a pair (or two) to add into my fall wardrobe. Shocking, I know.

From tall takes to classic ankle boots, the sock-boot offerings on the market right now are aplenty and dangerously tempting, and that’s coming from someone who six months ago would’ve likely scoffed at the idea of introducing a pair into my boot collection. But hey, there’s no need to blindly trust me. Instead, keep scrolling to make up your own mind about the second coming of sock boots. I have a feeling your opinion of them will do a 180 too.

There’s a strong chance that you live in jeans in your off-duty or 9-to-5 life (if you work in a casual office setting, of course). And given your affinity for those tried-and-true blues, there’s also a strong chance that you have a smattering of go-to items you wear with your favorite denim. When it comes to footwear specifically, there are a few specific pairs worth owning to elevate the most common, basic jeans silhouettes such as skinny, straight-leg, and black denim.

To highlight said shoes, we thought we’d turn to some of our favorite celebs, including Jennifer Lopez and Katie Holmes, who also wear cool jeans on the regular. With that in mind, keep scrolling to check out the six footwear silhouettes that look flawless with denim, as showcased on the most fashion-forward A-listers.
