New Season, New Wardrobe, Same Budget: 34 Under-$100 H&M Fall Finds I’m Loving

    [ad_1]

I’ve got to admit, over the last few months, H&M has truly stepped up its game. While I’ve grown up loyally shopping at the retailer thanks to their incredible pricing and size-inclusivity, I’ve found myself going more often than not in the last few months. Although I’m exposed to a bevy of incredibly made, luxe fashion brands as an editor, there’s something quite satisfying about heading to my local H&M and picking up an incredibly cute and wildly affordable head-to-toe look for the price of dinner for two.

Now that fall is slowly turning around the corner and I’m purging my closet of things I should have donated years ago, I stopped by H&M to stroll through their basics section and stock up on some must-have essentials. Truth be told, looking at the selection of runway-approved new arrivals and rich-looking basics, I was honestly shocked. Lucky for you, I don’t gate-keep, and after seeing the below items in the store, I ran home to find them online and share them with you. You can thank me later!

Below, shop H&M’s luxe-looking fall arrivals and timeless basics, all while keeping in line under an $100 budget.

  • 19 H&M Fall Anti-Trend Items That Have My 59-Year-Old Mom and I Likewise Smitten

19 H&M Fall Anti-Trend Items That Have My 59-Year-Old Mom and I Likewise Smitten

    [ad_1]

Historically, my mom and I have hardly agreed on my fashion choices. Risqué hemlines, bold trends, skinny jeans, platform shoes—all of these things, at some point, have lived in my closet and been a significant part of my wardrobe rotation. My mother disapproved of each of them. You see, her style’s always erred on the timeless side, whereas I have had a tendency to try lots of different things until something sticks. But as I’ve grown older and gotten acquainted with my personal style, my tastes have begun to align with hers, skewing more classic and anti-trend rather than loud and daring.

Nowadays, when I find chic items throughout the work day and I send them to my mom to get her thoughts, we agree on them far more than we disagree on them. Case in point, when I texted her this morning with a link to H&M’s new fall drop—full of classic, minimal, and wearable pieces for the upcoming season—and we both immediately started picking out items that we wanted. Out of all the ones that are still in stock (yes, the collection just launched, and yes, it’s already selling out), we shared affection for 99% of them, something I never would have expected could happen a decade ago.

See why, despite our 27-year age gap, my mom and I are both completely smitten with H&M’s fall arrivals below.

I Look at Nordstrom, H&M, and J.Crew Constantly—These 31 Fall Finds Are Chic

    [ad_1]

  • The Kate Moss Way to Make Simple Ballet Flats Look Cool

The Kate Moss Way to Make Simple Ballet Flats Look Cool

    [ad_1]

Kate Moss is a perennial beacon of style, so when she steps out in even the most casual outfits, we tend to take notice. Recently, the supermodel was spotted wearing a seemingly off-season look during a rainy day in London. Clad in baggy cargo pants, a black turtleneck sweater, and a water repelling trench coat, Moss capped off her look with a pair of super simple black ballet flats. And guess what? She still manages to look supremely chic, despite the inclement weather.

So, while this look may bit a little too layered for the hotter-than-average summer temperatures we’re experiencing stateside, that doesn’t mean it’s too early to add this outfit to our fall fashion mood board. Ahead, shop a selection of green cargo pants, black sweaters, chic trench coats, and of course, classic ballet flats so you can copy Kate Moss’ casual look any day of the week.

Umbrellas are optional but encouraged—especially if you’re having a good hair day.

  • Princess Diana’s Favorite Sweater Is Just As Elite In 2023—19 I Know She’d Love

Princess Diana’s Favorite Sweater Is Just As Elite In 2023—19 I Know She’d Love

    [ad_1]

While browsing through fall new arrivals, I couldn’t help but notice a few sporty sweaters that look incredibly familiar. Then it hit me: None other than Princess Diana had the style in her stellar sweater collection. Varsity sweaters are certainly nothing new but with sports like Tennis and Pickleball being fashion’s favorite sports right now, I’m not surprised the prep-adjacent trend is being spotted all over the market. Plus, after all the elegant looks from Wimbledon, I’m anticipating more people incorporating preppier knitwear into their 2023 fall wardrobe.

From a $13 option at H&M to a $960 Wales Bonner sweater at the top of my wishlist, I’ve rounded up the best varsity sweaters money can buy right now. When you come across a royalty-approved trend at an under-$100 price point, you have to give it a look. But also, if there’s anything that Princess Diana’s style has taught us it’s that the pieces she wore will never be quite out of style. So if you’re willing to splurge on the pricier ones below, I support it.  Keep scrolling to find your sweater pick for the season.

  • These Nordstrom, J.Crew, and H&M Finds Are Giving Wealth for Less Than $150

These Nordstrom, J.Crew, and H&M Finds Are Giving Wealth for Less Than $150

    [ad_1]

As much as I’d like to fill my wardrobe with best-of-the-best designer pieces, that’s not always (aka rarely) a viable option for a 27-year-old like me who simultaneously lives in Manhattan with a shoe addiction and a tendency to buy multiple coffees a day. And yes, I am pretending I don’t splurge on a salad and fries every Saturday afternoon like clockwork. But since crafting a closet that allows me to put together outfits on the fly that always appear elegant, timeless, and chic is my ultimate goal in life, I’ve had to find ways to cut corners, sourcing pieces that aren’t necessarily priced like designer but look the part nonetheless.

Since I’m currently laser-focused on adding some necessary fall pieces to my rotation before the season begins, I thought I’d share the wealth by offering up a few of the items that, due to their on-budget prices but outside-of-budget appearances, are high on my shopping list. From ivory blazers and pastel button-downs to trench coats and Mary Janes, scroll down for 36 of the most impressive and most expensive-looking fall finds I’ve added thus far, all of which just so happen to be from J.Crew, H&M, and Nordstrom.

I Showed My Friend These H&M Finds, and She Couldn’t Believe They Were Under $50

    [ad_1]

I’m the one in my friend group that gets text messages asking for shopping advice. It comes with the territory, given my job as a fashion editor. And trust me, I love it and adore sending over some of my favorite selects. One of my dear friends wanted advice on a new piece or two that would make her current wardrobe feel modern, but she didn’t want to spend a lot. There are a few retailers I turn to for affordable items, and H&M is one of the said stores.

I sent her four items to consider (a tank, skirt, trousers, and flats). Each cost under $50, which my friends honestly couldn’t believe because of how elevated the styles looked. If you keep scrolling, you’ll uncover the finds I sent to my friend. I also rounded up all of the other expensive-looking H&M items that feature forward design details to provide any further shopping inspiration.

H&M’s Newest Sale Is Incredibly Tempting—Here’s What I Would Buy

    [ad_1]

As a fashion editor whose job involves online shopping, my wallet is constantly in peril. It’s hard to resist the urge to purchase everything I’m recommending to our readers, but sadly it’s just not feasible. (I’ll let you know if I win the lottery though.) However, I was willing to make an exception for H&M‘s latest sale, as it’s chock-full of wardrobe basics that will get a lot of mileage.

I always consider cost-per-wear when buying new clothes, and all of the pieces in this story passed my unscientific test. I only purchase pieces that don’t require an imaginary special occasion and that go with things already in my closet. Without further ado, scroll down to shop my favorite discounted items from H&M’s new sale.

  • The $6 H&M Accessory I’m Buying to Mimic Schiaparelli’s Couture Looks From Paris

The $6 H&M Accessory I’m Buying to Mimic Schiaparelli’s Couture Looks From Paris

    [ad_1]

Runway collections aren’t always the easiest things to mimic on the cheap, and I’m just referring to ready-to-wearCouture pieces are tenfold more difficult, with each garment, down to the littlest detail, being handmade and intentional. Never is this more apparent than at Schiaparelli’s shows, which, thanks to the brand’s creative director Daniel Roseberry and its founder Elsa Schiaparelli’s legacy, are famously extravagant and artistic. But for its fall/winter 2023/2024 couture show, which took place in Paris just days ago, one small aspect of the offering was an exception to the aforementioned belief, allowing me (and anyone with $6) the ability to get the Schiaparelli aesthetic immediately following the show.

The magic is in a stretchy, black headband, something that everyone knows you can buy on the cheap at a variety of venues, from Target to CVS to, in this case, H&M. At the Schiaparelli show, the simple hair accessories were worn close to the face, blocking any flyaways from even daring to surface, and styled with extravagant and inventive couture garments, from a black-and-white hooded minidress with a sculpture-like skirt to a delicate-lace gown fit with one of the most impressive corsets I’ve seen. Though these looks will be far more difficult to recreate IRL, they can serve as inspiration for the color palette and silhouettes that will make for the chicest headband-clad ensembles.

Below, see some of the most beautiful ensembles from Schiaparelli’s fall/winter 2023/2024 haute couture show and shop the $7 H&M stretchy headband that’ll help you get the look for less.

I’m in My 30s, and I’d Buy These 29 H&M Items in an Instant

    [ad_1]

H&M may have a reputation for being a “young” brand, but I firmly believe there are great options in its stock for people of all ages. (I said the same thing about Zara recently.) The truth is that H&M was one of my go-to brands in my early 20s. Now that I’m in my late 30s, my taste has certainly changed, but brands that have been around for a while, like H&M, have also changed, noticeably making an effort to diversify their offerings.

The great thing about H&M is that there are plenty of basics mixed in with the more trend-forward pieces. My wardrobe tends to be far more classic in my older age, so I appreciate retailers that give options that aren’t just here today, gone tomorrow. As you know, the H&M price points are incredibly reasonable, so it’s a great place to shop for trends that you want to try without spending a ton.

In case you were wondering what a 30-something fashion editor loves from H&M, here are my picks from the current inventory.

H&M is often a go-to shop for the brand’s wide array of items to suit a variety of styles. As I’m a fashion person who is quite often on a budget, it’s one of my first stops when I’m shopping online. My group chat of five other fashion-editor friends spanning across different ages and interests agrees: H&M is our shopping sanctuary when it comes to rebuilding our wardrobes, adding interesting pieces, and buying accessories to spruce up our closets.

While H&M is known for its low price point and trend-forward styles, I’ve been gravitating more and more toward the new-arrivals section. For some reason, it feels like the store is just getting it now more than ever, with an endless array of cute basics and summery silhouettes that have all been sitting pretty in my cart for weeks (if they haven’t gone viral and sold out already).
