  • I’m a Fashion Editor, and I Will Always Stand By This On-Trend Shoe

I’m a Fashion Editor, and I Will Always Stand By This On-Trend Shoe

    [ad_1]

My version of a truly timeless shoe is the Ugg boot. As a millennial, I can say that I have lived through every era of the beloved, albeit controversial, boots. (Insert mental image of Y2K outfits here.)

I was a fan of the shoes as a preteen because they were on-trend, but as a fully fledged working adult, I appreciate both the comfort and the casual style so much more. They’ve become my go-to shoes simply because they are so easy to style with everything. And it seems I’m not the only one who thinks that, as endless Instagram Reels of people styling variations of Ugg boots have inundated my feed. This was all the convincing I needed to head over to Bloomingdale’s for my next pair. The moment I cast my eyes on the patterned mini boots, I knew they were coming home with me! I’m also intrigued by the platform boots—a new style introduced last year. Below, take a look at all the pairs that caught my eye.

No, Seriously—These 31 Under-$100 Nordstrom Finds Are the Epitome of Chic

    [ad_1]

There’s nothing like the thrill of scoring a super-chic fashion find that’s also affordable. In fact, my wardrobe thrives off of such finds. One of my main go-tos for such pieces is Nordstrom. The popular retailer is well-known for its selection of chic, affordable fashion. It’s for that very reason that I like to keep my eye on the new-arrivals section every week with the price filter set at $100 and under. I warn you—you’ll end up having to make some tough calls with the number of goodies you’ll find.

I recently spent over an hour scouring the latest under-$100 selection at Nordstrom, and this visit was no exception. With fall and winter on my mind, I came up with a stellar roundup of chic coats, cool denim, trendy flat shoes (the moto boots are a must-see), pretty dresses, and standout sweaters.

One of my favorite parts of my job is getting a firsthand glimpse of what the NYC fashion editors are wearing to the Who What Wear office. Their fall and winter outfits have been giving me major inspiration, and I wanted to get some of the key pieces to re-create their looks. So I went shopping, walked past the Jenni Kayne store, and simply had to go in. It has literally every fall item on my wish list: luxe cashmere sweaters, timeless fall coats, and an array of cozy knitwear. • The Tantalizingly Pretty Shoe Trend Fashion People Are Losing It Over This Fall

The Tantalizingly Pretty Shoe Trend Fashion People Are Losing It Over This Fall

    [ad_1]

After fashion month, it’s pretty much commonplace that everything floating around the style side of Instagram and TikTok is dangerously pretty. From handbags to jewelry items to dresses, the content that came out of September’s shows and street style is designed to tantalize and make you want to buy things. It’s as simple as that. One thing that no fashion person I’ve met is capable of resisting at the moment is a pair of kitten-heel pumps à la Prada (yes, I’m talking about the Bunny Floras), The Row, and more.

If you somehow haven’t noticed them yet, go back through a few of your favorite fashion people’s Instagram feeds from the last—I don’t know—three months. I guarantee you’ll spot at least one pair of one-inch-tall pumps of some form, whether it’s a super-classic pair like the ones women in the ’50s and ’60s wore with circle skirts and matching opera coats (or was that only in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel?) or modern slingbacks with various embellishments, like tiny crystals, bite-size buckles, and toe rings. Whatever you find, I already know it’ll be gorgeous and impossible to avoid buying. That’s practically a given when it comes to this trend.

Below, shop the shoe style that has every person in fashion searching for whatever’s left in stock in their size.

  • J.Crew Is My Secret Weapon This Fall—30 Picks I’m Wearing on Repeat

J.Crew Is My Secret Weapon This Fall—30 Picks I’m Wearing on Repeat

    [ad_1]

Surprisingly, 2023 has been a big year for J.Crew. Now the comeback has been imminent with the hiring of the brand’s internet-loved designer Olympia Gayot. Her ultra-chic way of styling the brands clothing and offering tons of outfit inspiration on her personal instagram (usually all in head to toe J.Crew) has launched tons of TikTok try on hauls and has more than piqued Gen Z’s interest.

I’ll admit I initially associated J.Crew with a preppier vibe, but as the brand has evolved, it has added an extra layer of coolness that has completely won me over. Now, of course, it still makes its classic hero items like the perfect button-down shirt, quality denim, dreamy knits, and accessories worth gawking over. I have to say as a former non–J.Crew shopper I was missing out, and now that I’ve seen the light not only will I not stop wearing the brand, but I won’t shut up about it either.

I have been on the hunt for the perfect pieces to add to my closet for the upcoming holiday season and to just elevate my everyday wardrobe. Naturally, I have been on J.Crew’s site for hours a day, every day, and found 30 pieces that we’re way too good not to share.

Keep scrolling to see which 30 J.Crew pieces I can’t wait to get my hands on.

  • 6 Fall Trends My Stylish Aunt and I Are Both Wearing With Jeans

6 Fall Trends My Stylish Aunt and I Are Both Wearing With Jeans

    [ad_1]

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: My aunt is one of my biggest style inspirations. I’ve never seen her looking anything short of ultra-chic and pulled-together, so it should come as no surprise when I tell you that with her background in retail and merchandising, it’s basically her job to help people find their personal style. Practically everyone in our family goes to her for style advice (myself included), and since we both work in fashion, I’m constantly texting her about everything from the coolest trends to know to what I’m considering buying.

We’re both denim loyalists and will take any opportunity to make them look as fresh as possible for the current season. So I thought it would be fun to see where our alliances overlap and put together a list of trendier items for fall 2023 that we’re both wearing with our jeans right now. Since we represent different generations, we’re each gravitating towards our own jean style—she’ll be wearing her favorite pair of wide-leg jeans and I’ll be sticking to my beloved relaxed style—but at least we can both agree on how to style them.

Below, see which six fall trends we’re pairing with our go-to denim.

  • I Just Spent 10 Days in Italy—7 Items Every Chic Woman I Saw Was Wearing

I Just Spent 10 Days in Italy—7 Items Every Chic Woman I Saw Was Wearing

    [ad_1]

Though it feels like I’ve been back in the New York mentality for about six months, I was, in fact, lounging on a striped-towel-clad beach bed on a somewhat hidden and hard-to-reach cove in San Fruttuoso, Italy, just a few weeks ago. Days later, while my tan faded, I enjoyed midday Campari sodas and taralli crackers between shopping in Milan. It’s easy to forget what it felt like to experience pure, uninterrupted bliss now that I’m back in my real world. One thing I can’t seem to get out of my head, though, are the clothes I saw while I was away—not in the stores but on the people.

From the Sciura ladies in their cashmere T-shirts, vintage brooches, and structured pocketbooks that I stopped and stared at more than I ever have with a celebrity to the obvious fashion people I spotted grabbing espresso between meetings in the Illy courtyard near the Via Montenapoleone fashion district, the outfits I set my eyes on during my 10-day trip have been burned into my mental data bank to forever haunt me with their chicness and all-around effortless elegance. Everything was beautiful, from the Prada kitten-heel pumps that I saw everywhere but couldn’t find in all of Europe (literally, the entire continent was sold out, according to one Prada salesperson) to the lightweight vintage outerwear that the masses transitioned into when the sun went down.

In my experience, the best way to stop obsessing over something is to talk about it—get it off my chest. That’s how I ended up here. Below, read all about the items I saw the chicest women in Italy wear on repeat, from voluminous skirts to evening outerwear.

  • Borrowed From the Boys: Hailey and Taylor Make the Case For Girls in Menswear

Borrowed From the Boys: Hailey and Taylor Make the Case For Girls in Menswear

    [ad_1]

Halloweekend came with its parade of stunning, spooky celebrity looks. But before the star-studded parties and the outrageous costumes, some major streetwear fits were thrown by some of our favorite style girlies. And, like we predicted for the fall, menswear is in for everyone — just ask Hailey Bieber and Taylor Swift.

First, Taylor — on the heels of her 1989 (Taylor’s Version) smash hit rerelease — has been making headlines for more than just her music and her new man. Just like in 2014, when Taylor Swift moved to New York and wrote the original 1989 album, the superstar was often spotted out in the city with her girl gang, living the Sex and the City dream.

Years later, the queen of New York is back. Paparazzi spot her every night dining with the likes of Sophie Turner and Blake Lively, and they also see her every day strutting through the West Village. Her most recent outfit made a case for two of the hottest seasonal trends: menswear and prep.

Taylor sported an oversized Stella McCartney rugby shirt as a mini dress, accessorized with a cool girl Ralph Lauren dad hat and an enviable pair of knee-high Prada boots (here’s the Steve Madden dupe). While Swift dressed up the rugby look, it’s a menswear fit that will go down in the fashion history books.

And if that wasn’t enough for my Pinterest boards, then the Biebers stepped out in a charming and disarming couple’s fit as they so often do. Justin wore a silky pair of argyle dress pants with an open dress shirt and tasseled Santoni loafers. He paired it with a leather jacket and sunglasses to add some rockstar edge to the uncharacteristically straight-laced look. But Hailey rocked the standout look of the night. For once, Hailey was the more casual of the two — and after he wore that sweatsuit while she donned a killer red mini, I never thought I’d see the day.

Hailey dressed for the weather in a long coat from celebrity-favorite brand, Khaite. For a lesser dresser, the coat would’ve been the standout piece — and Hailey has made headlines in the past few weeks for rocking men’s coats and statement jackets. But Hailey paired this piece with a surprising menswear choice: overalls.

The kind of piece you can find at any flea market, surplus store, or for $45 on Amazon, Hailey dressed up these Dickies denim overalls with heels and chic sunglasses to transform the daytime denim into an enviable date night stunner

In fact, denim and a long black coat is one of the hottest fall menswear trends — just ask Bradley Cooper (getting style tips from Gigi Hadid, perhaps?) and Jacob Elordi, who is on his fashion press tour for Priscilla andSaltburn.

So, if you had any doubts, let this be the proof that the borrowed-from-the-boys aesthetic is in for the fall. Inspired to take it for a spin? Here are some choice pieces to dress up for your next day out or date night.

  • NYC Girls Are All Over This Comfy Denim Alt, so I Sourced the 20 Best Pairs

NYC Girls Are All Over This Comfy Denim Alt, so I Sourced the 20 Best Pairs

    [ad_1]

While some trends stand out from the rest, there’s been a pants style that has crept its way into our closets once again: cargo pants. Yes, the military-inspired canvas pants with giant pockets from the early 2000s are back in full swing. In fact, they’ve been gaining traction for a few seasons now—and their popularity shows no signs of slowing down this fall/winter season.

The Y2K casual trend has quickly become the cool yet comfortable alt to denim for many (the streets of NYC will back me up on this). And from wide-leg denim cargoes to low-slung silky iterations, they’re all over the current market. It’s easy to see why—they exude a fresh, comfortable, and indisputably cool vibe.

Out of the hundreds available to shop now, I shared the best 23 options below. You’ll find a variety of both styles and prices, so whether you pair them with pointed-toe kitten heels and a blazer to dress them up or a pair of Adidas Samba Sneakers and a relaxed sweater for casual occasions—these pants will be as versatile as your jeans.

  • According to Hailey Bieber’s Stylist, Espresso Fall Is a Legit Fashion Trend

According to Hailey Bieber’s Stylist, Espresso Fall Is a Legit Fashion Trend

    [ad_1]

As much as I like to indulge in at least one pumpkin-spice beverage per year—not when fall “officially” starts (aka September 23rd) but when you can actually feel it in your bones—I don’t particularly enjoy wearing the color. Some people can pull off burnt orange. I’m not one of them. Fortunately, Dani Michelle, the stylist behind Kendall Jenner, Bruna Marquezine, and Hailey Bieber’s lusted-over street style looks, has a new color on her mind for fall that’s both delicious visually as well as in taste.

“Espresso fall” was all that Michelle captioned on a street-style photo of Bieber heading into Kim Kardashian’s 43rd birthday party at Funke in Los Angeles. In the image, the model and Rhode founder can be seen wearing various shades of espresso, from a light-roast, suede Prada blazer from the F/W ’23 collection to a medium-roast, leather Zeynep Arçay miniskirt. On her feet are a pair of burgundy Gucci slingback kitten heels from the brand’s first collection with its new creative director Sabato de Sarno, while a matching Saint Laurent 5 À 7 bag rests on her shoulder. And to top it all off, gold Khaite studs were added, as well as her new signature Alex Moss diamond “B” bubble necklace.

All on its own, the perfectly crafted autumn ensemble has solidified espresso as the color of the season, finally dethroning pumpkin spice after a decades-long run at the top. Scroll down to see Bieber’s look and shop the color we’ll be shopping (and drinking!) from now until spring.

Now that fall and winter are here, it’s time to dip into your boot rotation when you’re on your way to a date night or dinner with your friends. Living in New York City, I find my boots to be one of the most important elements when going out and braving the elements while wanting to look on-trend. They have to be comfortable, cute, and practical as I’m walking thousands of steps a day and—in Lady Gaga’s voice—heading from the bus to the club to another club to another club and to the next place.

I usually just grab my simple black ankle boots out of the closet when I’m heading off for a girls’ night with my friends, but this season, I’m looking toward my favorite fashion insiders to see all of the boots they’re wearing with their going-out outfits instead. Ever wonder what boots to wear for a night out? Don’t worry—I’ve got you covered.

I Love The Row, But I’m on a Budget—These Chic Under-$200 Finds Fit the Bill

    [ad_1]

Having run the Olsen twins–dedicated blog Olsens Anonymous for over a decade, I am well-versed in their style evolution. For some years now, both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have been donning outfits almost exclusively with pieces from their own line, The Row. It’s no surprise that the brand has a cult following—the minimal pieces are all painfully chic and can easily be mixed and matched, making for a practical, understated wardrobe. The only issue is The Row is purely aspirational for most due to the hefty price tags on all the pieces.

Thankfully, re-creating the look and vibe of the popular collections can be done in a much more affordable way. While the same luxe fabrics and tailoring may be hard to acquire without the budget, it is easy to find elevated basics and sleek shoes and bags that are in the same vein. Not to mention, we have been graced with nearly identical dupes of some of The Row’s trendiest pieces. Think chic button-down shirts, smart trousers, classic heels, oversize sweaters, luxe-looking shoes, and much more. Keep scrolling to shop 30 pieces inspired by The Row that are under $200.
