  • Everywhere Vanished was filmed and why the series wasn’t actually filmed in Jordan

    [ad_1]

Vanished, Amazon’s new thriller starring Kaley Cuoco and Sam Claflin, sends its leads racing across France – and (almost) every major scene was filmed on location.

The Prime Video series opens in Paris, where Alice (Cuoco), an archaeologist, reunites with her boyfriend Tom (Claflin). They board a train to Arles for a romantic break.

He vanishes en route. What follows is a frantic search that pulls Alice through Marseille’s ports, backstreets, and landmarks – and into something far darker.

If you’re wondering where Vanished was filmed, here’s the full breakdown.

    Where was Vanished filmed?

Vanished was filmed entirely in France. No stand-in cities, no soundstage trickery. Production was primarily based in Marseille, with early scenes shot in Paris.

Executive producer Lourdes Diaz described Marseille as a character in its own right.

“It is the beauty of Marseille. The darkness of Marseille. Marseille has many layers to it,” she told Prime Video.

From sea views and mountainsides to docks and nightclubs, the city’s contrasts feed directly into the show’s tone.

Co-creator Preston Thompson added that Marseille offers both “French Riviera glamour” and “grit and underworld”.

Vanished filming locations you can visit

There are dozens of recognisable locations across all four episodes. These are the key ones.

Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower

The Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower appear in episode 1 during Alice and Tom’s Paris reunion.

They’re brief, postcard-perfect shots – establishing the romance before everything unravels.

The show quickly shifts south, likely due to cost and logistics.

Hotel Regina Louvre features in the opening episode.

Opposite the Louvre and overlooking the Tuileries Garden, it’s a five-star hotel known for its baroque interiors. A one-night stay can range from roughly €500 to €1,400 depending on the room.

    Hotel Peron, Marseille

Hôtel Peron is Alice’s main base in Marseille.

Located along La Corniche, it overlooks the Mediterranean and appears repeatedly throughout the series. Despite being a three-star hotel, it’s a massively popular place to stay.

Rooms can hover around the €100 mark – if you can get one.

    Roquefavour Aqueduct

Roquefavour Aqueduct is the landmark Alice spots from the train when Tom first disappears.

Built in the 19th century, it stands 83 metres high and stretches 375 metres long. It was constructed to carry water from the Durance River to Marseille after devastating droughts and cholera outbreaks.

It’s around 30 miles from Marseille.

Notre-Dame de la Garde dominates the skyline in several shots and appears in the opening credits.

It’s Marseille’s most visited monument and offers panoramic views over the city and islands below.

    Noailles district

The Noailles district – often called the “belly of Marseille” – appears repeatedly as Alice searches for Tom.

It’s one of the city’s most vibrant neighbourhoods, packed with markets, fishmongers, and international food stalls.

The Old Port of Marseille is one of the city’s defining landmarks.

Founded around 600 BC, it’s now the cultural and social centre of Marseille – and a recurring backdrop in the series.

    Was Vanished filmed in Jordan?

No. Although flashbacks are set in Jordan, the production never left France.

These scenes were filmed in the French countryside and colour-graded to create the dusty, sun-bleached look.

The end credits confirm the production benefited from France’s tax rebate for international shoots – making it financially sensible to keep everything local.

Why Marseille was a big decision for Kaley Cuoco

For Cuoco, filming abroad was a major step.

After welcoming her first child in 2023, she had scaled back work. Vanished required relocating to France for months.

Speaking to TV Insider, she said it was the first time she had to make a “big decision” as a mum.

“When they first said Marseille, I was like, ‘Do you really need to do that?’ I’ve got a two-year-old. How do I leave?” she said.

Her fiancé encouraged her to take the opportunity – and she’s glad she did.

“I don’t know if I’ll have an opportunity like that again,” she added.

  • New German War Movie Is a Smashing Streaming Hit Already

    [ad_1]

Despite a lukewarm critical response, a 2025 German war movie has found unexpected success on Prime Video. The Tank has rapidly climbed the charts and is drawing fresh attention from viewers. The film’s sudden rise in popularity has turned it into a breakout hit following its limited theatrical release.

The Tank becomes a streaming hit on Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video’s World War II drama The Tank is gaining significant traction on streaming. The film has drawn renewed attention months after its low-profile theatrical release.

According to FlixPatrol, the World War II drama climbed to the Number 1 position on Prime Video’s Top Movies chart on January 11, 2026. This shows a sharp rise in viewership after the movie already appeared in the platform’s Top 10 earlier in the week. The chart also shows that film’s strongest performance has been recorded in Germany. The movie has consistently ranked at or near the top of Prime Video’s daily charts since its streaming debut.

Directed by Dennis Gansel, The Tank is set in 1943 on the Eastern Front. It centers on a five-man German Tiger tank crew tasked with a high-risk mission behind enemy lines. Ordered to locate a missing officer hidden in a classified bunker, the crew must navigate hostile territory while facing constant danger. As the operation progresses, increasing pressure and psychological strain begin to negatively impact the group.

The film features performances from Laurence Rupp, David Schütter, Sebastian Urzendowsky, Leonard Kunz, André Hennicke, Arndt Schwering-Sohnrey, Tilman Strauss, and Yana Shevchenko. The Tank released theatrically in Germany in September 2025 under the title Der Tiger. It later expanded to international audiences with Prime Video release on January 2, 2026.

While critical reception has been mixed, The Tank currently holds a 61 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Its swift climb on streaming platforms suggests that the film has gained fresh traction online after a modest theatrical release.

(Prime Video)

Marcello Hernández: American Boy — The SNL breakout star takes to the stage in his native Miami for his first stand-up special, which sees him recounting his experiences as a first-generation Cuban American. The Pitt — The hit medical drama is back for a sophomore season that reportedly takes place over the course of an intense 24-hour shift during Fourth of July weekend. “Our job is not to outdo ourselves. Our job is to do ourselves,” series creator R. Scott Gemmill told Deadline. So how long until they move over to Onlyfans? (HBO Max)

The Traitors — Season 4 of the Alan Cumming–hosted competition augments its cast of reality veterans with a diverse group of celebrities from other walks of life, including comic Ron Funches, Olympian Tara Lipinski and NFL mom Donna Kelce. Oh, and also Michael Rapaport, because he thought they were looking for actual traitors. (Peacock)

People We Meet on Vacation — This adaptation of the novel by Emily Henry casts Tom Blyth and Emily Bader as polar opposites who begin to wonder if they might be the perfect mates. Which is the way it always goes in fiction, but if you want to know what happens in real life when opposites find each other, there are always Alex Murdaugh documentaries. (Netflix)

A Thousand Blows Season 2 — One year later, our cast of 1880s East Enders have to pick themselves up out of alcoholism and despair to regain their mastery of the London underworld. As opposed to the London Underground, which you can master just by remembering to get off before Cockfosters. (Netflix)

    Premieres Sunday:

The Night Manager — Season 2 finds Tom Hiddleston’s Jonathan Pine on a new mission: to take down a Colombian arms dealer. But if he finds out they’re trafficking weed too, he’ll have to cede authority to the United States Defense Department. (Prime Video)

    Premieres Tuesday:

Seriously, how much of a past can you have when you’re only in college? At that point, the biggest mistake you’ve made is majoring in English literature instead of marketing. (Hulu)

  • DAZN is available through Amazon Prime Video in the US and UK

    [ad_1]

DAZN, a sports streaming service that covers everything from MMA to golf, is now available as an add-on subscription through Amazon Prime Video in the US and UK. The streaming service was previously available in France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan and Canada.

Subscribing to DAZN requires an additional $30 a month subscription on top of what users already pay for Prime Video ($9 a month for a standalone plan or the cost of an Amazon Prime subscription). The service includes access to a mixture of live sports coverage including “more than 185 fight nights per year” and “over 300 live soccer games from Italy’s Lega Series A,” according to Amazon.

While it costs extra, the service makes for a nice complement to the sports content that’s already available through Prime Video for no additional fee, like Thursday Night Football, select NBA games, the NASCAR Cup Series and the Masters golf tournament in 2026.

Access to live games is increasingly the defining feature of most video streaming platforms. Amazon has its carveouts, YouTube TV has NFL Sunday Ticket and Apple continues to hold down MLS and now, F1 racing.

  • Amanda Seyfried Musical With Meryl Streep Coming To Prime Video

    [ad_1]

Amanda Seyfried and Meryl Streep’s romantic musical is set to arrive on Prime Video. The first part of Mamma Mia! came out on September 12, 2008, whereas a sequel dropped a decade later in July 2018. Apart from Seyfried and Streep, the movie featured talents like Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård, and many more.

Mamma Mia! with Amanda Seyfried to release on Prime Video soon

The fan-favorite musical rom-com, Mamma Mia!, featuring Amanda Seyfried and Meryl Streep, is releasing on the streaming platform, Prime Video, on November 15, 2025.

Helmed by Phyllida Lloyd, the movie focuses on Streep’s character Donna, a single mother who works as a hotelier and is busy with the preparations for her daughter’s wedding. On the other hand, her daughter Sophie, played by Seyfried, is working on a plan to meet her biological father.

Mamma Mia! went on to become a big success at the box office and made over $600 million against a budget of reportedly $52 million. While the movie won the hearts of fans across the globe, critics had a mixed response to it.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the 2008 film earned a score of 55 percent on the Tomatometer and 66 percent on Popcornmeter. Its much-awaited sequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, released a decade later, but had a toned-down response compared to the first one. It made around $395 million at the box office.

Recently, Amanda Seyfried spoke at the Toronto International Film Festival and stated that the third part is reportedly in the works. She said, “It is, yes. I think. We all said, ‘Yeah, definitely.’ It’s our way of marketing and getting support. Big movies like that are all about studio timing.”

The Jennifer’s Body actress also explained how she went on to work on Mamma Mia! 2 instead of Wicked in 2018. Seyfried said, “I remember they did Mamma Mia! 2 instead of Wicked. They could only do one big movie at that time, so we ended up slotting into that. So, it’s about silly things like that.”

  • The Boys Season 5 To Explain Billy Butcher’s Forehead Scar

    [ad_1]

Karl Urban has hinted that The Boys Season 5 will include a long-awaited revelation about his character, Billy Butcher. During a recent appearance at the MCM London Comic Con, the actor teased that fans can expect to learn about an important detail from Butcher’s past.

Karl Urban says The Boys Season 5 will reveal how Billy Butcher got his forehead scar

Karl Urban has confirmed that the upcoming fifth season of The Boys will address the origin of Billy Butcher’s forehead scar.

Speaking at the MCM London Comic Con, the actor shared that Season 5 will explore the story behind the scar. He added that he initially preferred to leave it a mystery, but the new season will reveal the truth. Urban said, “Personally, I would actually love to keep that a bit enigmatic. But, Season 5, you’re going to find out the origin of Butcher’s scar. That is one spoiler I will tell you – so I can’t divulge it in this room, but you are going to find out.” (via Games Radar)

While specific details about the upcoming episodes remain a secret, filming for the final season has officially wrapped. Series creator and showrunner Eric Kripke confirmed the news in July, calling it a “bittersweet” moment. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, “This is the last time I’ll ever be on this set. It’ll be torn down soon. It’s bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude.”

Urban will reprise his role as Billy Butcher in the upcoming season. Other returning cast members include Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Laz Alonso, Karen Fukuhara, Tomer Capone, and Antony Starr. The fifth season is expected to continue the storyline from the events of Gen V Season 2.

An official premiere date for the upcoming season, which will conclude the Prime Video show, has yet to be confirmed.

  • Prime Video’s Malice is The White Lotus meets Ripley: here’s what we know

    [ad_1]

There’s an early scene in Malice—Prime Video’s new revenge-thriller series premiering in November—that David Duchovny has waited years to film. In fact, you might say he’s waited his whole life. Without giving away too much, it features him shirtless, on an island in Greece, debuting some impressive dance moves.

“Mick Jagger!” Duchovny tells Glamour on a recent phone call. “My good old Mick Jagger imitation comes in handy, finally! I’ve been waiting my entire life.”

Joking aside—or, maybe not—the truth is this is definitely a different kind of character for Duchovny, who’s known for playing more inquisitive men like The X-Files’ Fox Mulder. In Malice he plays Jamie Tanner, a seemingly successful businessman, husband, and father, who sees his life turned upside down when the substitute nanny, Adam Healey (Jack Whitehall), infiltrates his family’s luxurious life during their vacation in Greece.

“I’m a guy that questions everything, including myself, so playing this guy who has this certainty about himself and his life is great,” says Duchovny. “But the dramatic part is when that certainty gets cracked open. I have to figure out how to play a guy like that. I have to trick myself to play characters who don’t have doubt.”

Did any of Jamie’s certainty rub off of Duchovny, I ask? “Absolutely not. No,” he says with a laugh. “No, no. I’m still the same old me.”

Still, it’s a hell of a ride to watch Duchovny master the challenge in front of him. He describes Malice as “The White Lotus meets Ripley,” but it’s not a whodunit; it’s more of a whydunit. “And that’s the thriller part.”

Whitehall tells Glamour that the show “definitely has the kind of essence of those ’80s–’90s psychological thrillers, which I loved so much.”

He adds, “There’s this dark humour and some surprising twists and turns that really ratchet up as the series develops. You’re really on the edge of your seat.”

Set against a breathtaking Grecian backdrop with additional scenes in London, Malice also has elements of Netflix’s Sirens and The Perfect Couple, as well as Apple TV’s Your Friends and Neighbours. Created by James Wood (Rev), it’s the perfect winter TV escape, and we have the exclusive trailer debut. Take a look:

Intriguing, right? Well, there’s more. Duchovny and Whitehall share everything you’ll want to know about the series when it premieres next month, including the lengths they went to to prep for their respective roles, and what you can expect in the finale. Read on.

    When does Malice premiere?

All six episodes of the revenge thriller will drop on Prime Video on Friday, November 14.

  • Your Favorite Streaming Service Is Only Getting More Expensive

    [ad_1]

Four of the biggest have doubled in price since launching.
    Graphic: Vulture

This post was originally published September 8, 2025, and has been updated to add new price increases to Disney+ and Hulu as well as HBO Max.

If there’s one thing streaming services love more than a rebrand or a bundle, it’s a price hike. Over the past few months, Disney+, Hulu, Peacock, Apple TV+, HBO Max, and even humble BritBox have raised their subscription rates. Asking customers to shell out more each month has been a part of the streaming business going back to the early days of Netflix, when it incrementally increased prices on certain tiers on an almost annual basis, and since more services began popping up to compete with the service in the past five or six years, they’ve been predictable additions to your streaming bills, some notable exceptions aside.

To illustrate their ubiquity, we’ve rounded up as many as we could below — focusing on the major streamers’ so-called “standard” paid monthly subscriptions with and without ads. For ease of comparison, we omitted bundles and tiers like Netflix “Premium” and Hulu + Live TV, as well as any services which haven’t been around for at least two years or haven’t had some sort of price increase. We’ll update this story with more services, too — and with the inevitable new price hikes when they roll out in a quarter or two.

A few insights we noticed as we browsed the numbers:

➼ The prices for plans at Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, and Peacock have more than doubled since their respective launches.
➼ Hulu’s ad-supported rate actually dropped at one point — very much an anomaly.
➼ Since launching in 2019, The Criterion Channel has never raised its prices.

Current monthly rates labeled in blue.

    2022: Launched at $7
    2025: $8

Since launch, Netflix has dramatically expanded its original and licensed programming, expanded to new global markets, and introduced live sports and video games to their service, so beyond inflation, it’s had overhead to account for over the years. Users may wonder why the ad-supported price introduced in 2022 was lower than what ad-free users were paying for Netflix in 2011; that’s because Netflix reasoned that it could make more revenue per user on the ad-supported plan even if it was less than half the cost of the standard ad-free plan, and priced it accordingly. Plus, as it also started cracking down on password sharing, it wanted to make sure folks unwilling to finally pay for their own full-price account had an affordable alternative to consider before walking away completely.

Hulu’s 2019 adjustment to its ad-supported plan was a rare price drop — at the time a hedge against users rebelling that the cost of its live TV service would be going up. More recently, the $4 hike between 2022 and 2024 has been designed to prompt users to switch to the Disney Bundle, which offers both Hulu and Disney+ at a deep discount.

    • 2025: $12

Like other services that launched the heyday of the early streaming wars, Disney+ was priced to move — a bet that $7 per month was a nice carrot for families and older fans of Star Wars and Marvel alike. Five years, one pandemic, a long Hollywood strike season, and two Bobs later, that $7 looks quaint by comparison. As for the relatively huge hikes to the cost of the ad-free plan, chalk that up to a the same thinking about the aforementioned Disney bundle, plus the industry-wide push to get people to watch ads again.

    2020: Launched at $15

    2024: $17
    • 2025: $18.50

    2021: Launched at $10
    • 2025: $11

HBO Max/Max/HBO Max’s pricing has gone up incrementally compared to its competitors in part because started out a higher price point than any other post-Netflix streamer, thanks to the HBO of it all. But in that same time, Warner Bros. Discovery and CEO David Zaslav have become known for axing content across the service, from classic HBO shows to Sesame Street. Will the departure of Discovery content (once WBD’s breakup and/or sale is finalized) drop the price? Don’t hold your breath.

    2016: Launched at $9

    2024: Launched at $9

Prime Video doesn’t call its “ad-free” option here another stand-alone plan, but customers can pay an additional $3 per month to remove ads. Otherwise, strikingly, Prime Video’s rate remained the same until it began rolling ads onto its platform. Of course, many folks haven’t even clocked how stable the base rate for Prime Video has remained because the most common way they get Prime Video is through Amazon’s much broader (and somewhat pricier) Prime subscription service, which offers everything from “free” package delivery to discounts on gasoline.

With its 2023 hike, Paramount+ also added Showtime to its ad-free plan and did away with Showtime’s standalone streaming service. On the bright side, it hasn’t added a special surcharge for Taylor Sheridan series — yet.

At one point, Peacock was literally giving itself away for free — sort of, anyway. That’s no longer the case of course, but it’s another streamer, like Disney+ and Apple TV+, that learned from the Covid era that it couldn’t underprice its offerings forever. What’s more: The NBA is coming to Peacock, wrested away from David Zaslav in the last rights negotiation for an annual bill of $2.45 billion. Now both of Peacock’s standard plans cost more than Netflix’s. Plus, John Tesh wasn’t going to let NBC and Peacock use “Roundball Rock” for free. Somebody had to pay up.

    2019: Launched at $5
    2022: $7
    2023: $10
    • 2025: $13

A service without a robust licensed library that focuses mostly on originals would not have been appealing for $13 a month in 2019, but to be honest, it’s not too shabby in 2025. Apple has established itself with enough hits like Severance and The Morning Show and Ted Lasso to make the price point work, and even feel like a modest value compared to other major players like HBO Max or Peacock.

You’re not just getting AMC’s programs and live feed with this service; the streamer also bundles in content from horror-rific Shudder plus indie movies from Sundance and IFC, along with a sample of stuff from sister streamer Acorn TV (see below.) If the ad-free tier still seems a bit expensive, that’s in part because cable operators would freak if AMC offered it too cheaply.

The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie was announced by Jenny Han herself at the special series finale celebration in Paris, France on Wednesday. “There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,” Han said, according to Variety. “I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”

Per the outlet, Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video have greenlit the movie, which will serve as the true final conclusion of the YA phenomenon; Han, the author of the original trilogy the hit series is based on and the show’s creator, is on board to write the film.

  • ‘The Chosen’ Team Sets Biblical Animated Series at Amazon, Paul Walter Hauser and Yvonne Orji Among Cast

    [ad_1]

Amazon Prime Video is expanding its Christian programming offerings once again with a series order for the animated adventure comedy “The Chosen Adventures.”

Prime Video has ordered 14 11-minute episodes of the series, which is co-produced by Amazon MGM Studios and 5&2 Studios, the latter of which produces the hit series “The Chosen.” The series will premiere on Prime Video in the U.S. and internationally in the U.K, Latin America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and Sub Saharan Africa.

Per the official logline for “The Chosen Adventures,” the show “follows nine-year-old Abby and her best friend Joshua as they navigate life in the ancient city of Capernaum. When the children encounter a wise craftsman and teacher, Jesus of Nazareth, he helps them change the way they see the world, and they help spread his influence far and wide (among the 7 to 12-year-old set). And did we mention that she has a talking sheep?”

The Chosen Adventures stars Paul Walter Hauser as Sheep, Yvonne Orji as Pigeon, Romy Fay as Abby, Jude Zarzaur as Joshua, Danny Nucci as Abba and Zehra Fazal as Eema.

Other recurring and guest voice cast members include: “The Chosen” star Jonathan Roumie as Jesus, Jordin Sparks as Fish, Paras Patel as Matthew, Elizabeth Tabish as Mary, Noah James as Andrew, Joey Vahedi as Thomas, George H. Xanthis as John, Yasmine Al-Bustami as Ramah, Brandon Potter as Quintus, Banks Pierce as Hilarius Maximus, and Julian Grant as Cyrius Maximus.

We are proud participants in “The Summer I Turned Pretty” fandom here at Popsugar (way before the recent hype). And can you really blame us? Although completely fictional, the complexity and allure of the show’s love triangle is so relatable — namely, Belly Conklin’s (Lola Tung) entanglement with Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney), who also happen to be brothers. A classic, messy love story. While our eyes are constantly glued to the screen in anticipation of the latest drama every Wednesday, we’re paying attention to the outfits just as much — not because they’re absolutely groundbreaking as far as sartorial convention goes, but because of their accessibility.

As a young woman with an ever-evolving emotional identity, Belly displays a fashion sense that’s equal parts appropriate, classic, and effortless. We’re talking all-encompassing wardrobe staples like flirty, printed dresses from Reformation for daily escapades, Levi’s jeans for wedding dress shopping, and her Victoria Beckham bridal gown that’s only $1,250 — far from your average bridal ensemble splurge.

We also see noteworthy style from other characters, like Taylor Jewel, that reflects the essence of the series’ magical setting, Cousins Beach. Inspired by East Coast beach towns, including Martha’s Vineyard and The Hamptons, the timely aesthetic feels particularly achievable. From affordable picks that are perfect for your last-minute New England summer getaway to “The Summer I Turned Pretty”-inspired collections from Solid & Striped, keep scrolling to shop some of our favorite pieces inspired by season three.

  • How Amazon Prime Video Beat Disney+, Hulu, Netflix in Ads | Entrepreneur

How Amazon Prime Video Beat Disney+, Hulu, Netflix in Ads | Entrepreneur

    [ad_1]

Amazon Prime Video is more than a side benefit of a Prime membership — Amazon is building out the streaming service to stand on its own.

Jeff Bezos saw Prime Video “as an opportunity to build a media company,” not just as an offshoot of Prime, Prime Video head Mike Hopkins told Reuters on Wednesday.

Amazon has worked towards that vision for four years. Prime Video became the largest ad-supported streaming service in the U.S. in January after it started peppering movies and shows with ads by default for its 115 million U.S. subscribers. Prime Video comes with Amazon’s $14.99 per month Prime membership; as of January, opting for no ads costs $2.99 extra per month.

Related: Sales Could Top $14 Billion on Amazon Prime Day, Hitting an All-Time High — Here’s Why

Most subscribers chose not to pay more per month for ad-free viewing — only 15% opted to pay extra. The switch to ads had no impact on Amazon’s overall subscriber count, according to a Hub survey, and could bring in $1.3 billion in ad revenue this year and $2.3 billion next year, according to Wall Street research firm MoffettNathanson.

“Virtually overnight, Amazon Prime Video dramatically transformed the video advertising ecosystem,” said Mark Loughney, a Hub senior consultant. Jeff Bezos. (Photo by Emma McIntyre/Getty Images)

Amazon framed the shift to ads as a way to keep investing in Prime Video. Amazon MGM Studios had its biggest year in 2023 with 68 Emmy nominations for original content like “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”

Nielsen’s June TV and streaming report found that though Prime Video was not as popular as Netflix and YouTube, it came out ahead of Hulu, Disney+, and Peacock. The Prime Video original series The Boys drew 4 billion viewing minutes in June.

‘My Spy: The Eternal City’: Ken Jeong, Kristen Schaal talk gladiator-style showdown – National | Globalnews.ca

    [ad_1]

Fans of the original My Spy movie, rejoice! Prime Video has released the direct sequel to streaming and this time the excitement and espionage is travelling to Italy.

My Spy: The Eternal City reunites many of the original movie’s favourite cast members, including Dave Bautista as hardened CIA operative JJ and Chloe Coleman as his precocious protege, and now-teen stepdaughter, Sophie.

Together, the duo travels to Italy when a reluctant JJ gets talked into chaperoning Sophie’s school choir trip, and audiences are treated to stunning vistas and plenty of action as the pair attempt to thwart a nuclear terrorist plot that threatens to blow up the Vatican.

Much like the original movie, which was a huge hit during the pandemic, the excitement is punctuated by some very silly and funny performances by returning characters, like Kristen Schaal’s Bobbi and Ken Jeong’s David Kim, who reprise their zany CIA roles and try to help foil the destructive plan.

    Story continues below advertisement

Global News sat down with Schaal and Jeong to discuss the best part about shooting the sequel, which cast member would win in a Colosseum-style gladiator showdown, and their best (real or made up) memories of field trips from when they were kids. Check out what they had to say in the interview above.

‘My Spy: The Eternal City’ is now streaming on Prime Video.
