    Yoga is often treated as a women-centered activity in the U.S., especially when it comes to studio culture. Walk past most yoga classes, and you’ll usually see a room full of women, which has helped create the idea that these spaces function as a kind of quiet, shared refuge.

    Of course, men practice yoga too, and plenty of them teach it professionally. Still, expectations form over time, especially when a studio’s regular crowd looks the same week after week.

    For one Los Angeles woman, that expectation was shattered the moment a man rolled his mat out beside hers. What she describes next has sparked a wider debate online about gendered spaces, comfort, and whether personal discomfort crosses into exclusion.

    Woman Says Men Shouldn’t Attend Her Yoga Class

    TikTok creator Sian Renee (@aqua.babe.s) posted a short video reacting to her experience in a yoga class, which has since drawn thousands of views and plenty of divided reactions. The clip got over 4,379 views.

    In the video, Renee is blunt. “I don’t hate men, but I don’t think there’s a worse feeling than going to a yoga class and having a man put his mat next to yours,” she says.

    She frames the issue as one of expectation and money, rather than outright hostility. “Like I didn’t pay $30 for this yoga class for a man to sweat next to me,” she says.

    Reactions in the comments section range from sarcasm to sympathy to confusion.

    “What a wonderful personality you have,” one commenter wrote sarcastically.

    Another viewer sided with Renee’s discomfort, saying, “I would have left and asked for a refund.”

    Others offered context from their own experiences. “I attend a yoga class in New York City twice a week,” one person shared. “It’s usually me and about 10 ladies for the past 10 years. We socialize outside of our practice as well.”

    Meanwhile, some commenters pushed the conversation further, questioning what the alternative should be. “So what should we do?” one user asked.

    Women-Only Fitness Spaces Do Exist

    For women who strongly prefer working out without men present, options do exist, particularly in large cities like Los Angeles. While general yoga studios operate as inclusive spaces open to everyone, there are studios and classes that intentionally cater to women.

    Some gyms and wellness centers offer women-only yoga sessions, often labeled clearly on their schedules. These classes typically exist alongside mixed-gender options, giving people the ability to choose the environment that best fits their comfort level without excluding others from the broader space.

    In California, anti-discrimination laws generally prevent businesses from denying service based on gender. That means a standard yoga class at a public studio can’t legally bar men from attending. However, studios can design specific programs, workshops, or sessions that center on women.

    In other words, discomfort doesn’t have to turn into discrimination. Choice exists, but it usually requires seeking out the right space rather than expecting a shared one to change.

    In today’s episode of “Matt About Town,” we’re heading to Lucky Pup Yoga to try out some moves and experience the joy of posing with puppies.

    Lucky Pup isn’t your run-of-the-mill studio. Founded by co-owners Sophia Bonde and military veteran Tyler Shea, the business contributes to dog fostering efforts, working dog facilities and local shelters in the D.C. area. They also work with ethical veteran dog breeders.

    While puppy yoga is offered on weekends, the studio offers plenty of regular classes with certified yogis during the week, too.

    Lucky Pup has only been open for about three weeks, and, as we found out, the dogs who come by to visit aren’t much older than that!

  • Mental Illness Linked to Higher Heart Disease Risk and Shorter Lives

    A sweeping review published in The Lancet Regional Health—Europe has drawn a direct line between mental health disorders and cardiovascular disease (CVD), showing that individuals living with psychiatric conditions face not only a higher risk of heart problems but also a shorter life expectancy. The paper, authored by researchers from Emory University, the University of Copenhagen, the University of Leeds, and others, concludes that people with depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and anxiety live 10 to 20 years less on average, mainly due to heart disease.

    A Bidirectional Threat

    The analysis shows that the connection between mental health and cardiovascular disease is not one-directional. The stress of a heart attack or stroke can trigger psychiatric disorders, while psychiatric conditions themselves set the stage for heart disease. The risks are striking as depression raises cardiovascular risk by 72 percent, schizophrenia by 95 percent, bipolar disorder by 57 percent, PTSD by 61 percent, and anxiety disorders by 41 percent. “It is important to understand that stress, anxiety, and depression can affect your heart, just like other physical factors,” the paper noted, offering guidance for how doctors might begin crucial conversations with patients.

    A Widespread Burden

    One in four people will experience a mental health disorder in their lifetime, yet many go untreated and often receive poor cardiovascular care. “Despite having more interactions with the healthcare system, they undergo fewer physical checkups and screenings and receive fewer diagnoses and treatments for CVD and its risk factors,” the authors reported. According to 2023 U.S. survey data cited in the study, more than half of those who met the criteria for a mental health disorder had not received any treatment, with even lower rates among non-White populations.

    Shared Risk Factors

    Researchers identified a cluster of overlapping drivers—poverty, trauma, social disadvantage, substance use, and poor access to health care—that amplify the dual risks of mental illness and cardiovascular disease. Lifestyle behaviors such as smoking, poor diet, physical inactivity, and disrupted sleep patterns are also more common among people with psychiatric conditions. The biological picture is equally troubling. Dysregulation of the stress response system, inflammation, and autonomic nervous system dysfunction are all pathways through which psychiatric disorders may accelerate cardiovascular decline.

    Breaking the Cycle

    The study calls for a fundamental shift in medical practice. “For the best care, an integrated approach is needed to address the complex needs of this vulnerable population,” the authors wrote. “Such approach should offer enhanced support and interdisciplinary care encompassing mental, cardiovascular, and behavioral health, as well as consideration of the social needs and barriers to care.” Among the interventions reviewed, exercise emerged as one of the most effective treatments, improving both mood and heart health. Evidence shows that physical activity can deliver improvements on par with or greater than medication or psychotherapy for depression. Mind-body practices like yoga and mindfulness, while requiring more evaluation, also show promise for improving outcomes across both mental and cardiovascular health.

    A Call to Integrate Care

    The authors stressed that progress depends on healthcare systems breaking down the wall between physical and mental health. For decades, treatment has been siloed, with psychiatrists focusing on the mind and cardiologists on the body. That separation, the study finds, has left millions vulnerable. The authors argue for expanded insurance coverage, investment in housing and employment stability, and the inclusion of psychiatric patients in cardiovascular research. Above all, they call for integrated care models that recognize the tight link between mental and cardiovascular health.

    Global Health Priority

    The stakes are enormous. The World Health Organization has set a 2025 target to reduce the global burden of cardiovascular disease. The paper argues that this goal cannot be reached without directly addressing the disparities faced by those with psychiatric disorders.

    “Closing the disparity gap for individuals with mental health disorders would be consistent with the World Health Organization 2025 targets of reducing the global burden of CVD,” the researchers concluded. “Reducing these disparities would also uphold the rights of people with mental health disorders to achieve the highest possible level of health and to fully participate in society and the workforce.”

  • Aaron Judge ties Yogi Berra for fifth on the Yankees’ career homers list

    CHICAGO — New York Yankees star Aaron Judge hit his 358th career homer in the first inning of Sunday’s game against the White Sox, moving into a tie with Yogi Berra for fifth in franchise history.

    Judge drove an 0-2 cutter from Martín Pérez deep to center for a one-out solo drive. Judge’s 43rd homer of the season had a 112.6 mph exit velocity and traveled 426 feet.

    He batted again in the third and doubled off the wall in center. He scampered home on Cody Bellinger’s double to right.

    The 33-year-old Judge also connected for a solo homer in New York’s 11-inning victory at Chicago on Saturday night. The two-time AL MVP and seven-time All-Star was batting .218 (17 for 78) with five homers and 11 RBIs in August coming into the day.

    Hall of Famers Babe Ruth (659 homers), Mickey Mantle (536), Lou Gehrig (493) and Joe DiMaggio (361) are on top of the Yankees’ career homers list. Judge’s drive produced the first change in the franchise’s top five since Aug. 7, 1957.

    Judge was activated from the 10-day injured list on Aug. 5 after being sidelined by a flexor strain in his right elbow. He has been serving as the team’s designated hitter, but he could return to the outfield at some point this season.

  • Movie Review: Murder, she solved — Helen Mirren channels Angela Lansbury in ‘Thursday Murder Club’

    First of all, is this really what retirement looks like?

    If so, perhaps we should all sign up, no matter our age. In “The Thursday Murder Club,” an amiable, cozy, pleasantly entertaining adaptation of Richard Osman’s mystery novel, the lucky club members live in a retirement home that resembles Downton Abbey.

    The food at this dreamy manor house nestled in the English countryside is scrumptious, with a choice of wines at lunch. The apartments are huge, the antiques tasteful, the archery and life-drawing classes top-notch. And the emotional support animals are llamas. Yes, llamas.

    This is the setting, quaintly called Coopers Chase, in which four retirees, led by Helen Mirren in her no-nonsense plaid blazers, depart from yoga and Sudoku each week to consider cold cases. Old folks solving cases — and outthinking police — is nothing new in our popular culture. Let’s recall “Murder, She Wrote,” in which Angela Lansbury’s Jessica Fletcher solved cases in tiny Cabot Cove, Maine — where close to 300 murders somehow occurred during the show’s 12-year run.

    The crime-busting seniors in “The Thursday Murder Club,” directed by Chris Columbus, are nowhere near that fortunate in terms of body count. But they approach their weekly meetings with gusto. Mirren’s Elizabeth has skills from a career in “international affairs” (smells like espionage). Pierce Brosnan’s Ron is former trade unionist, and Ben Kingsley’s Ibrahim a former psychiatrist. As we begin, the trio is considering a case from the ’70s in which a woman fell out a window under mysterious circumstances.

    But they need medical expertise, and thus they recruit new resident Joyce (Celia Imrie), an expert baker and former trauma nurse. We meet her as she’s showing off the grounds to her haughty daughter, who manages a hedge fund and can’t eat Mom’s cakes because she’s perimenopausal. “Everybody’s doing llamas these days, Mum,” she says, unimpressed with the surroundings.

    But Joyce is thrilled to join the club, and even more thrilled when, one morning, news comes that an actual murder has occurred — a co-owner of Coopers Chase, actually. “Now we’ve got a real case to solve!” she gushes, with “Disco Inferno” suddenly playing on the soundtrack (that’s a little much), as she pulls Ron from aqua aerobics for a meeting. “Isn’t it wonderful!”

    But no, it isn’t all wonderful — the deceased had promised to protect the retirees from the plans of another co-owner to demolish the home and make an event space. The shady Ian Ventham (David Tennant) also intends to uproot the cemetery. Ron organizes a noisy protest. And then, yet another murder happens.

    Naomi Ackie is appealing as a police officer who aches for exciting work, and Daniel Mays very funny as her clueless boss. As for the plot – well, the rather dry storyline is not what brings pleasure here.

    No, that pleasure is derived from seeing these veterans strut their stuff, foremost among them Mirren. (Kingsley, alas, gets almost no good lines). Her most delicious moment is a direct nod to her Oscar-winning role as a different Elizabeth. Heading out on an incognito mission with Joyce, she dons a silk headscarf, a comfy cardigan, a tartan skirt and a walking stick. “You look like the Queen!” notes her husband. “Do I?” she asks, cheekily.

    But moments later, on the bus with Joyce, Elizabeth has a scene that rings false. Reading a text message, she asks her friend: “What does WTF mean?” Joyce explains, loudly, what it means, saying she learned it from her daughter. A young mother with a child nearby is shocked at the profanity. It’s all too cute by half. We’re supposed to believe razor-sharp Elizabeth doesn’t know what “WTF” means?

    It’s a few moments like this that cause some discomfort, raising the question of whether these characters are being, well, caricatured. Columbus seems to acknowledge the issue with an exchange where Joyce tells Elizabeth that she feels like she’s in “one of those Sunday night dramas about two bright-eyed, feisty, old lady detectives outsmarting the police at every turn.” Annoyed, Elizabeth tells her never to utter the words again.

    In any case, there’s a sadder undertone that provides some grounding here. Elizabeth’s husband — poignantly played by Jonathan Pryce — is in the early stages of dementia, a fact Elizabeth is keeping from him. He has his good days and his bad ones, she explains to a friend. Sometimes he’s his old self, and sometimes he’s just gone.

    It’s a message that even if our main protagonists seem healthy and active, they’re at a stage in life where every day is a bit more precarious. “Cherish the good moments,” the friend tells Elizabeth.

    It’s a good message, overall, for the movie. The script could certainly be sharper, the comedy more clever. But for two hours on Netflix, Coopers Chase is rather a comfy place to be, with some moments to cherish.

    “The Thursday Murder Club,” a Netflix release, has been rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association “for violent content/bloody images, strong language and some sexual references.” Running time: 118 minutes. Two and a half stars out of four.

I launched myself up on a soap box and reminded everyone we are truly blessed to be in the bodies we are in and that I don’t participate in diet culture. Ideas like these limit our ability to enjoy and be content with the bodies we are in. I was activated!

    Movement is not about conforming but investing in our collective freedom. It’s about checking out of diet culture. It’s about joy and liberty and accepting our bodies as they are right now.

    I have struggled with the idea of fitness and movement for years. At first, I saw it as a way to punish my body for not conforming to societal trends. As I’ve grown older, I’ve realized that movement is a gift. Movement is not about conforming but investing in our collective freedom. It’s about checking out of diet culture. It’s about joy and liberty and accepting our bodies as they are right now.

    As a member of Generation X, I initially adopted a belief that my body did not belong to me but was here for public consumption. My job was to put up with and accept public criticism of my body from family and society for not fitting a specific body aesthetic or trend. Shame led me to hide and feel ashamed of the body that genetics had given me.

    It’s time to rewrite the narrative and understand that my body, with all its uniqueness, is mine to cherish and respect. I’ve learned that movement can genuinely change lives, regardless of what your body looks like. Even a little movement can go a long way in improving our health and overall well-being. By investing in movement, we invest in our current and future selves.

    Let me share some of the benefits of moving our bodies that have nothing to do with fitting a societally-imposed body standard.

    What was your day job or primary occupation when you started your side hustle?
    After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in graphic design, I moved to New York to work in publishing, originally at People magazine and later Harper’s Bazaar. It was during that time that I started drawing illustrations of my friends, which I would put on T-shirts to give as birthday presents.

    This hobby of mine ultimately turned into a company I called Unsweetened, with clothing and accessories featuring illustrations of women — in what I viewed as an “un-sugar-coated” version of them.

    Where did you find the inspiration for your side hustle?
    [At my magazine jobs], I got a firsthand look at the photoshopping that goes on in the industry. Both jobs were incredible experiences, but they shed light on the unrealistic expectations the media was putting into the market and minds of their consumers. My entire life, I have watched incredible, smart, beautiful women not see themselves as they are and try to conform to a singular idea of beauty. While this frustration was brewing, I struggled to make ends meet, working long hours for little pay but gaining loads of invaluable experience! At the time, my best friend and roommate’s birthday was coming up, and since I didn’t have the means to buy her something great, I decided to make her a birthday present — I sketched her and put the illustration on a T-shirt.

    All my friends loved it, so for the next year, everyone got one of these unique drawings of themselves on a T-shirt. These illustrations celebrated them for who they were — curves, careers and fun! I called it the “unsweetened” version of themselves, and before I knew it, I started selling them. It felt so fulfilling to be doing something that I loved while simultaneously promoting body positivity and self-confidence from within.

    What were some of the first steps you took to get your side hustle off the ground?
    At People, I had a cubicle right in front of the publisher — a high-traffic cube! — and I put all my sketches on the wall. People started asking me to make them for them for their friends, and the next thing I knew, I was buying a T-shirt press, getting a wholesale license, purchasing T-shirts and printing and packing them in my shared apartment after my roommate went to bed.

    The T-shirts were a hit, and I started spending all my free time working on Unsweetened. I sold the shirts at holiday bazaars and craft shows and eventually got a booth at the New York City Gift Show and the Los Angeles Gift Show. Ultimately, I left New York City with the intention of making a full run of Unsweetened on the West Coast; however, things quickly changed upon my arrival.

    What led you to decide to transform the side hustle into full-time business Beyond Yoga?
    I moved to California and was very quickly introduced to Jodi [Guber Brufsky], who would become my future business partner. I instantly fell in love with the mission of Beyond Yoga, put Unsweetened on hold and went full steam ahead building Beyond Yoga — a brand that would eventually permanently change industry standards and expectations. These days, size inclusivity is a given for a new brand starting out, but this was just not the case 20 years ago when we started building Beyond Yoga. It’s really something that we pioneered, and I’m proud to be a big part of that movement.

    The idea of creating a line of clothing that celebrates women of all shapes and sizes was very exciting to me. After meeting Jodi, I shared some of my ideas for the business and the product. From that point on, I spent the next 18.5 years building Beyond Yoga from an idea to a global brand, employing hundreds of people (directly and indirectly), driving over half a billion in revenue, and running a profitable business without taking on any additional funding.

    What were some of the biggest challenges you faced while building Beyond Yoga, and how did you navigate them?
    Early on while building Beyond Yoga, everything was a challenge! Getting into stores and securing trusted wholesale partners, learning the ins and outs of the business, teaching myself everything on the fly and building the team from the ground up. It was a lot of work, but it was so rewarding and a time in my career where I learned many valuable lessons and skills.

    Some of the biggest challenges I faced included understanding fabric shrinkage and how to apply it to a pattern, figuring out the ERP, teaching myself merchandising and forecasting, hiring and firing, learning how to delegate — the list goes on and on.

    It was a long journey, and in the early days, we were a very lean and green team. We did absolutely everything ourselves, and there was a lot of learning to be done. Things started shifting about five years into the business, which is also around the time of one of my most impactful hires: our COO/CFO. Having him on board helped give me more comfort around investing in our team and leveling up by bringing on more experienced professionals.

    What was the experience of growing the company like over the years? What were some highlights?
    Growing Beyond Yoga into the company it is today was no small feat, but it’s something I’m so incredibly proud of. Even though we began investing more aggressively over the years, we always ran the business for growth, investing every penny back into the business. Once we reached around $20 million, we thought it might be time to take on investors. After learning a few valuable lessons, we took ourselves off the market and decided to focus on profits and controlling our destiny.

    A noteworthy milestone was when I discovered Space Dye, which became the backbone fabric of the company. It was a game changer — so soft, yet durable with the perfect stretch and recovery. It quickly became a fan favorite and is still a huge part of the Beyond Yoga collections today. I love that an exploratory fabric meeting in 2013 led to so much growth and became a pillar for the brand. My love of fabrics gave way to a style revolution that transformed the activewear landscape that still continues to be emulated today.

    Another highlight during my career was becoming a mom, when I learned to balance work, love, family and friends. It was also where Beyond the Bump was born. Becoming a mom and seeing my friends and peers go through this transition helped inspire the creation of our Beyond the Bump line. After being so disappointed in the lack of comfortable clothes for women during and after pregnancy, the only way I was going to find options I liked was if I designed them myself, so I did. This ended up becoming one of our most successful brand extensions and a great way to introduce new customers to Beyond Yoga.

    When and how did the Levi’s acquisition come about? Why was that a “full circle moment”?
    When Levi’s reached out, we were not looking to sell at that point, and honestly, I don’t think we would have sold to anyone else. I was flattered! Levi’s is an iconic brand, and after learning about its values and principles over profits mentality, I was excited to explore this opportunity.

    The more we looked into this, the more it felt like the right fit to ensure our company had a legacy that lasted beyond myself and the team. Negotiating a deal of this caliber and scale was something I’d never done before, so naturally, it was exciting. It was easily one of the biggest challenges of my career but also one of my greatest accomplishments. It was a unique experience, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to learn this side of the business.

    Throughout the entire process, from starting my own business to negotiating the terms of one of the industry’s biggest female-led athleisure sales to date, I stayed true to myself, our shareholders and the company I poured my heart into over the years, which I wouldn’t trade for anything.

    What’s your advice for others hoping to start successful side hustles or full-time businesses of their own?
    My biggest piece of advice is to make sure you’re doing it for the right reasons. Do it because you’re passionate, do it because you want to create and give it your all, do it because you think you’ve solved a problem that will benefit people, or because you’ve created a better version of something that already exists.

    Once you’ve figured out what you’re going to do, get started. Don’t wait for the perfect moment — it won’t come! Sometimes, you just need to jump right in.

    Summer is a celebration of longer days, warmth, and sunshine. And as summer comes to an end, what better way to show gratitude for this than by beginning our mornings with a few rounds of Surya Namaskar (sun salutation)?

    Sun salutations gracefully link together a series of asanas (yoga poses) and provide the student with an excellent cardiovascular workout. They also help build full body strength and flexibility—all in all, the perfect short morning flow!

    This particular form of sun salutation comes from the Ashtanga Vinyasa lineage. Each pose is held for only one part of the breath. If the weather allows, I encourage you to do this practice outdoors, perhaps even at sunrise:

    1.

    Mountain Pose (Tadasana)

    Stand up tall at the top of your mat with your feet hip-width apart. Roll your shoulders back and turn your palms forward. Push into all four corners of both feet. Exhale fully.

    2.

    Raised Arm Pose (Urdhva Hastasana)

    Inhale to reach your arms up overhead. Bring your palms together as you look up.

    3.

    Standing Forward Bend Pose (Uttanasana)

    Exhale to fold forward toward your toes. Bend your knees as much as you need to in order to protect your lower back.

    4.

    Standing Half Forward Bend Pose (Ardha Uttanasana)

    Inhale to lift your chest up halfway, parallel to the mat. Place your fingertips on the mat in front of you or on your shins if needed. Roll your shoulders back, and keep the weight in your toes.

    Four-Limbed Staff Pose (Chaturanga Dandasana)

    Exhale to step your feet back into plank pose and bend your elbows to a 90-degree angle. Keep your upper arms close to your rib cage and your core engaged. You can make this easier by lowering your knees to the mat. Intermediate and advanced students can hop the feet back into four-limbed staff pose immediately and skip the plank pose.

    Upward-Facing Dog Pose (Urdhva Mukha Svanasana)

    Inhale to roll over your toes and lift your chest as you straighten your arms. Squeeze the muscles in your legs to keep your knees and pelvis lifted off the ground. If this is difficult for you, do cobra pose (Bhujangasana) instead with your elbows bent and your hips on the mat.

    Downward-Facing Dog Pose (Adho Mukha Svanasana)

    Exhale to lift your hips up and back into downward-facing dog. Your feet should be hip-width distance apart with your hands shoulder-width apart. Bend your knees as much as you’d like as you reach your tailbone up.

    Standing Half Forward Bend Pose (Ardha Uttanasana)

    From downward-facing dog, bend your knees to look at the top of the mat. Step or hop your feet in between your palms and inhale to find your standing half forward bend pose once more.

    9.

    10.

    Raised Arm Pose (Urdhva Hastasana)

    Inhale as you come all the way up to standing, leading with your chest and circling your arms up overhead.

    11.

    Mountain Pose (Tadasana)

    Exhale back into your standing position. Repeat for four to nine more rounds as is appropriate for your body.

    It’s not you, it’s the leggings. And even Lululemon knows it. 

    The athleisure brand made an almost $100 dollar pair of leggings that allegedly flattened customers’ behinds with an ill-placed back seam. The effect is that the wearer’s backside is elongated. Released earlier this month on July 9th, the “Breezethrough” yoga pants line was unveiled to mixed reviews. Specifically, the V-shaped design that stretches to the waistband was deemed as often unflattering. 

    In response to the design backfire, $31 billion market cap Lululemon has pulled the product. 

    Issues with thin material as well as what was called “whale tail placement,” cropped up online soon after it launched. “I tried them on and they literally make [me]look rectangular,” said a customer on a Lululemon Reddit thread. Why is the seam on the back, the wearer pondered.

    Lululemon did not respond to a request for comment.

    Another commenter noted that the line was pulled from the online store quicker than they expected but that those who liked the pants would be able to get them in stores. The post was met with mixed reception. Some noted they liked the product and people were just sizing wrong. Others rejoiced. “It was Lululemon! Long live all the cute butts that fell victim to the crooked seam,” a customer joked. 

    Profits are flattening out, too, as CNN noted that the brand’s stock slipped by 16% this past month and 50% over the course of a year. The outlet spoke to JP Morgan Chase analyst Matthew Boss, who noted that negative customer feedback was the driving factor behind Lululemon rolling back the product. Recently, shares for the company slipped to the lowest level since 2020, to $247.32, but they are currently at $261.

    Lululemon CEO Calvin McDonald said in an earnings call last month that “business remains strong,” pointing to international business as a source of potential growth. Even so, the company is making up for some missteps last year. 

    “When looking at women’s, we did not maximize the business in the U.S., which was the result of several missed opportunities, including a color palette and our core assortment, particularly in leggings that were too narrow,” he added.

    The product was marketed initially as a “cool innovation” for hot yoga, according to the Wall Street Journal, which viewed old emails from the company. Reporter Alyssa Lukpat suggested that the design backfire was an attempt to cater to other generations, as she pointed out that the Breezethrough collection looks like other leggings that became popular on TikTok, a Gen Z mainstay.
