When I was younger, it didn’t take much convincing for me to try a new perfume. If a celebrity endorsed it or my favorite magazine labeled it the new “it” product, it went on my Christmas or birthday wishlist and I instantly became a fan. Whether a fragrance smelled sickly sweet or had notes of wood didn’t matter much—I would douse myself in it every day and felt cool doing it, too.

Fast forward years later, and I’ve become particular about smells. My nose has gotten so sensitive that strong candles give me a headache and certain dry shampoos can send me into a sneezing fit. I still love perfume, but when shopping for a new one, I’ve become super selective.

Over the past few weeks, Viktor&Rolf’s Flowerbomb Tiger Lily has solidified its spot as my new favorite. What I like about this scent is that it’s fresh and fragrant without being too intense. Even the smallest amount seems to last all day without fading, and all you’ll need is a quick spritz before heading out the door.

While one of Flowerbomb Tiger Lily’s key notes is mango, I wouldn’t categorize it as a fruity fragrance. Instead, crisp top notes like bergamot and coconut milk accord balance it out, while a hint of tiger-lily accord adds a floral twist.

Benzoin also brings a warmer, rich, and woody scent into this specific mix, ensuring this perfume doesn’t come across as too feminine. It’s a bit sweeter and different than the original Flowerbomb — which, according to Viktor&Rolf, is known for its “explosive” floral “sensory experience.” However, I sometimes find that option to be a bit overwhelming, so that’s another positive for me.

As previously mentioned, this spicy-floral-fruity scent seems to last all day long. It doesn’t fade, but I do find that some of the sweeter notes begin to pop after a few hours. On more than one occasion, people have stopped to ask what perfume I’m wearing, noting that whatever it is, it smells really good.

Funnily enough, Flowerbomb Tiger Lily is still an “it” perfume. I’ve seen it all over my TikTok FYP and it’s even endorsed by Emily Ratajkowski, who stars in the campaign. Plus, like all Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb fragrances, the bottle is shaped like a grenade — a detail that makes it look extra cool and worth putting on display.

Reviews for this fragrance describe it as reminiscent of a relaxing tropical beach vacation, but I’d take it one step further. To me, it’s something you’d spray before heading out on a sunny, fun-filled adventure (I swear it makes me feel energized), but could also wear for a sexy, beachside dinner date later on.

Basically, it’s the perfect perfume to pack in your suitcase, and for sure the scent of spring and summer 2024.

  • Jodie Turner-Smith Shuts Down the Red Carpet in Nothing but a Giant Bow and Thong

Jodie Turner-Smith Shuts Down the Red Carpet in Nothing but a Giant Bow and Thong

Jodie Turner-Smith is a gift to us all — just check out her latest look for all the proof you need. On Sept. 14, the model and actor strolled up to Vogue World in London wearing a black thong bodysuit adorned with an enormous satin bow that couldn’t be missed. The giant adornment extended from her right shoulder down to encircle her left elbow and incorporated a large side cutout. The leg-baring number hails from Viktor & Rolf’s fall 2023 haute couture collection, which debuted on the runway in Paris two months ago.

Working with styling duo Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald, Turner-Smith amped up the glamour by accessorizing with black elbow-length opera gloves and diamond and sapphire jewelry. She finished the look with platform heels and rhinestone eye makeup for an additional touch of sparkle.

Bannerman and McDonald previously spoke to POPSUGAR about styling Turner-Smith for the 2022 Met Gala, where she wore a crystal-dripping Gucci dress with a pink chiffon skirt. “We [work with] women from different backgrounds, different cultures [to] show the world how they can be represented and how they too can feel beautiful, have opulence, have drama, have an elegance,” Bannerman shared, essentially listing off every word that comes to mind when Turner-Smith hits the red carpet.

Turner-Smith was in stylish company at the Vogue World event, which kicked off London Fashion Week. Sienna Miller, who’s currently expecting her second child, bared her baby bump in a voluminous two-piece Schiaparelli set reminiscent of a stylish loofah. Winnie Harlow also brought the drama in Zuhair Murad couture, Dove Cameron looked “Renaissance” World Tour ready in an all-silver Coach ensemble, and Simone Ashley proved the naked-dress trend is still going strong in Tamara Ralph couture. Other standout attendees included Gemma Chan, Nicola Coughlan, Ncuti Gatwa, Emilia Clarke, and Yasmin Finney.

Read ahead for an all-angles look at Turner-Smith’s latest head-turning outfit.

  • Doja Cat Pioneers New Use for False Lashes

Doja Cat Pioneers New Use for False Lashes

Doja Cat is making haute couture fashion week fun again by giving the girls (i.e. us) exactly what they want: back-to-back front-row looks that are eclectic, daring and a little bit weird (in the best possible way).

Following her fiery red moment at Schiaparelli — for which she teamed up with Pat McGrath and wore more than 30,000 Swarovski crystals — she arrived to the Viktor & Rolf show in Paris embodying androgyny with an elaborate green and white pinstriped top, tan structured jacket and pants. The real kicker, though, was her makeup look: The 27-year-old brought her humor (as she always does) when it came to her glam, wearing false lashes on her eyebrows, above her lip as a “mustache” and on her chin as a stand-in soul patch. Yes, Doja Cat just pioneered a decidedly quirky new use for false lashes: as facial hair.

Viktor & Rolf Proves There Are Many Ways to Wear a Ballgown

Some might argue that life has been pretty topsy-turvy these past few years, and Viktor & Rolf captures this feeling in its latest collection.

You can always count on the Dutch luxury house — widely recognized for its provocative approach to haute couture — to bring some humor to fashion week. And it certainly achieves that with its Spring 2023 collection, which offers an unconventional approach to ballgowns.
