  • Spencer Rattler secures first career NFL win after 11 starts as Saints beat Giants at home

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

It took 11 games, but New Orleans Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler finally earned his first career win in the NFL.

Rattler had been in several close games with the Saints but hadn’t been able to come away with that winning feeling — until the New York Giants came into the Caesars Superdome on Sunday. The Giants were fresh off their first win of the season and the first of Jaxson Dart’s young career in Week 4.

Rattler, however, didn’t let New York’s momentum last long, leading the Saints to a 26-14 win that saw the defense play a major role in the effort.

Rattler went 20-of-30 for 225 yards, including an 87-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Rasheed Shaheed that brought the Saints back into the game after the Giants opened with two touchdown drives capped by passes to tight end Theo Johnson.

GIANTS’ JAXSON DART JOINS TIM TEBOW WITH RARE STATISTICAL FEAT IN FIRST START

Shaheed’s touchdown cut the Giants’ lead to 14-13, but after New Orleans kicker Blake Grupe missed a field goal, it appeared momentum might swing back to the Giants. That changed when Dart’s pass to Darius Slayton resulted in a fumble as New York crossed into Saints territory.

After the Saints recovered the fumble, Grupe converted a field goal to end the half, and New Orleans never looked back.

The second half was a nightmare for the Giants’ offense, as four straight drives ended in turnovers. It began with Dart simply dropping the football for a fumble. On the next drive, running back Cam Skattebo also fumbled, and Jordan Howden returned it for a touchdown to push the Saints’ lead to 26-14.

Dart threw a pair of interceptions while trying to rally the Giants, but his efforts only led to more frustration.

While Rattler finally got his first win, head coach Kellen Moore also picked up his first career victory in his new role. Both teams are now 1-4 through five weeks.

  • Diddy planning unconventional move in court ahead of sentencing for prostitution charges

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Sean “Diddy” Combs will be allowed to appear in non-prison clothing as he addresses Judge Arun Subramanian at his sentencing hearing on Oct. 3.

His court address will be the first time he’s spoken about the charges he was convicted on, as Diddy chose not to testify during the eight-week trial.

“The sentencing proceeding holds significant importance for Mr. Combs,” a letter filed on behalf of Diddy and obtained by Fox News Digital read. “He wishes to appear before the Court, address Your Honor, and allocute in the most dignified and respectful fashion possible.”

“The requested Order will facilitate that desire, as ‘[c]riminal defendants, like any other party appearing in court, are entitled to enter the courtroom with their heads held high.’”

DIDDY’S LAST-DITCH LEGAL MOVES SHUT DOWN BY JUDGE DAYS BEFORE SENTENCING

A jury convicted Diddy on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution on July 2. The “I’ll Be Missing You” rapper was acquitted of his most serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.

Diddy could spend a maximum of 20 years behind bars, 10 years for each count he was convicted of. The prosecution recommended 135 months (just over 11 years) for his sentencing.

Judge Subramanian rejected Diddy’s request for a new trial and the rapper’s demand for an acquittal days before his scheduled sentencing.

The federal judge said the prosecution provided “overwhelming evidence” of Diddy’s guilt on the charges of transportation to engage in prostitution.

“The government proved its case many times over,” the federal judge wrote in his opinion obtained by Fox News Digital. “That by itself might be enough to dispose of Combs’s challenge. But the other factors don’t do much to help Combs either.”

The prosecution claimed Diddy deserves a “substantial” prison sentence because the rapper is “unrepentant” in the sentencing recommendation filed Tuesday.

“Incredibly, while the defendant conceded his acts of violence and abuse throughout trial, he now argues that his victims should shoulder the blame,” the filing read.

Diddy’s legal team proposed a 14-month sentence ahead of his Oct. 3 hearing for federal charges of transportation to engage in prostitution. The “I Need A Girl” rapper has already spent 13 months behind bars.

Combs’ lawyers claimed the musician had been “sufficiently punished” for his crimes.

  • NFL Week 4 scores: Which teams got into the win column?

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The 2025 NFL season is nearly a quarter finished as most of the Week 4 games were played by Sunday night.

It was a rollercoaster type of week.

The Pittsburgh Steelers came out victorious in Ireland, but quarterback Skylar Thompson was reportedly roughed up and robbed two days before their game against the Minnesota Vikings kicked off. The New York Giants won their first game of the season with Jaxson Dart as the starter, but Malik Nabers suffered a significant leg injury.

The Kansas City Chiefs showed the NFL that they’re not going away, but things may have been a little bit more difficult if the Baltimore Ravens were healthier.

The ebbs and flows of the games will be the big storyline coming out of Week 4. Read below for the rest of the scores.

  • Actress refuses to promote Sarah Ferguson drama series after Jeffrey Epstein email controversy

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Actress Natalie Dormer is refusing to promote the upcoming show “The Lady” after Sarah Ferguson’s 2011 email referring to Jeffrey Epstein as a “supreme friend” became public.

Dormer, who portrays Ferguson in the ITV and BritBox drama series, revealed she has also chosen to donate her salary to charities supporting children who have experienced abuse.

“When I agreed to take the role in ‘The Lady,’ I knew portraying the script’s Sarah Ferguson would require nuance. People are layered, their journeys are full of highs and lows, and as an actor, my job is to lean into those elements and bring them to life with honesty and empathy,” Dormer said in a statement to Variety.

“Since completing the project, new information has come to light that makes it impossible for me to reconcile my values with Sarah Ferguson’s behavior, which I believe is inexcusable. For that reason, I will not be taking part in the promotion of the project.”

SARAH FERGUSON DROPPED BY MULTIPLE CHARITIES AFTER CALLING JEFFREY EPSTEIN ‘GENEROUS AND SUPREME FRIEND’

She added, “In keeping with my commitment to the well-being of children, I have donated my entire salary from this project to the National Association for People Abused in Childhood (NAPAC) and the Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse (hosted by Barnardo’s).”

According to the Daily Mail, the Duchess of York – who divorced Prince Andrew in 1996 – reached out to Epstein in 2011 after publicly denouncing their friendship during an interview with the Evening Standard.

During the interview, Ferguson expressed her “deep regret” and promised to “have nothing ever to do with Jeffrey Epstein ever again,” three years after he was imprisoned for soliciting prostitution from a minor.

In an alleged email to Epstein following the interview, Ferguson referred to the disgraced financier as a “steadfast, generous and supreme friend.”

“I know you feel hellaciously let down by me from what you were either told or read, and I must humbly apologise to you and your heart for that,” Ferguson allegedly wrote.

“I was advised, in no uncertain terms, to have nothing to do with you and to not speak or email you and if I did I would cause more problems to you, [Prince Andrew] and myself,” she continued. “I was instructed to act with the utmost speed if I would have any chance of holding on to my career as a children’s book author and a children’s philanthropist.”

A representative for Ferguson claimed she had sent the email after Epstein had threatened to sue for defamation, according to the BBC. “This email was sent in the context of advice the duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats,” the statement read.

Ferguson was dropped as a patron from multiple charities after the 2011 email recently became public.

“Following the information shared this weekend on the Duchess of York’s correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein, Julia’s House has taken the decision that it would be inappropriate for her to continue as a patron of the charity,” a spokesperson for Julia’s House, a children’s hospice organization, said in a statement to Fox News Digital on Sept. 22. “We have advised the Duchess of York of this decision and thank her for her past support.”

The Teenage Cancer Trust and Natasha Allergy Research Foundation also dropped Ferguson, along with Prevent Breast Cancer and others.

  • Deion Sanders predicts son, Shedeur, will start for Browns at some point this season

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Deion Sanders is focused on his quarterback situation with the Colorado Buffaloes, but he made a bold prediction about his son Shedeur Sanders’ NFL future with the Cleveland Browns.

“Coach Prime” said he believes his son will start for the Browns at some point this season.

Sanders shared his thoughts Monday on the “New Heights” podcast, telling hosts Jason and Travis Kelce he has “got a feeling when it’s going to go down.”

When asked what advice he’s given Shedeur, who is waiting his turn behind Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel, Deion said: “Be patient and be ready.” He declined to reveal when he expects Shedeur to make his first start, and the Kelces did not press him.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski has given no indication of a quarterback change. Flacco has led the Browns to a 1-2 record through three games, with the offense inconsistent but the defense among the league’s best.

TRAVIS KELCE CALLS FOR SHEDEUR SANDERS TO START FOR BROWNS AMID CONTROVERSY: ‘GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT’

Shedeur isn’t even the primary backup at this point. Gabriel, selected two rounds earlier in the 2025 NFL Draft, earned that role after preseason evaluations, Stefanski said.

Deion also revisited draft-night drama, confirming that Shedeur slid to the fifth round before being picked by Cleveland. He said the Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles both showed interest.

Cam Newton, the former No. 1 overall pick, recently noted the Eagles’ pursuit of Shedeur. As for the Ravens, Deion essentially confirmed reports that his son told executive vice president Ozzie Newsome he wasn’t interested in sitting behind Lamar Jackson long-term.

“How in the world can somebody fault [Shedeur] for saying or thinking, ‘Why in the world would I go back up Lamar for 10 more years?’” Deion said on the podcast. “I’ve never sat on the bench and said, ‘Well, I learned a lot today.’”

The Browns drafted Shedeur with the expectation of developing him for the future, with Flacco seen as a stopgap until one of their rookies is ready. So far, the coaching staff believes Gabriel is ahead, but the season is still young.

  • Falcons run over Vikings to spoil home opener as JJ McCarthy struggles

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

There was no fourth-quarter magic for J.J. McCarthy in his second NFL start, as the Atlanta Falcons handled the Minnesota Vikings on the road to win their first game of the season, 22-6.

McCarthy stole a victory in Chicago last Monday after orchestrating a thrilling fourth quarter against the Bears. But the Falcons had all the answers for the young quarterback on “Sunday Night Football” to get in the win column.

McCarthy went 11-of-21 through the air for 158 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in a game where he had some chances for big plays, but he just didn’t have the right touch on his passes. With the lack of a successful run game, the Falcons were sending all types of pressure and McCarthy went down for six sacks.

But McCarthy’s opponent, Michael Penix Jr., wasn’t having the best of games at the quarterback position either. Penix was just 13-of-21 for 135 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. He also missed some throws that could’ve led to a touchdown earlier than Tyler Allgeier’s late fourth-quarter score, which was the dagger for the Falcons.

COWBOYS BEAT GIANTS ON WALK-OFF FIELD GOAL IN THRILLING OVERTIME VICTORY

Allgeier’s five-yard rush was the only touchdown for either team in this game, as it was a field goal battle throughout with both teams struggling to convert on red zone chances. Parker Romo, the Falcons’ new kicker as Younghoe Koo was benched after a rough week 1 performance, was up for the challenge as he knocked in all five of his field goal attempts, including his longest from 54 yards out.

Though the pass game wasn’t efficient for Atlanta, star running back Bijan Robinson picked up the slack with 143 rushing yards on 22 carries to lead the game in that category. Drake London was the leading receiver for the Falcons with 49 yards on three receptions.

For the Vikings, Justin Jefferson had 81 yards, though he caught just three passes. After McCarthy’s second interception of the game on the Vikings’ final drive, Jefferson was noticeably frustrated on the sideline, but who wouldn’t be when the offense truly clicked in the fourth quarter this past week?

McCarthy and the Vikings will hope to be more consistent from start to finish next week when they face the Cincinnati Bengals, who are expected to be without quarterback Joe Burrow after he suffered a toe injury on Sunday.

  • Sabrina Carpenter calls out critics of suggestive album cover as hypocrites

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Sabrina Carpenter blamed a generational double standard for the backlash she received over her “Man’s Best Friend” album cover.

Carpenter opened up about her new music and the controversial album cover after the Aug. 29 release. The pop star called out one generation for continuously getting offended by her, at times, overtly sexual lyrics.

“There is a generation that gets offended by some of the things I do, and it’s a generation that has either young children … or they’ve raised children, and they’re just sort of looking at it from a different point in their life – sort of scolding,” Carpenter said during an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music. “And they all had sex – many times – because they popped a lot of kids out. So, I just think about that, and I’m always just like it’s so funny. I mean we’re all, we’re just so judgmental.”

“I’m not allowed to have sex, but you are?” Carpenter questioned.

Carpenter announced her album on June 11. The album cover, which was shared on Instagram, was immediately met with harsh criticism as many fans labeled the photograph of the singer on all fours with a man pulling her hair as suggestive.

“Am I the only one who thinks this is dehumanizing for women?” one user wrote. Another added, “This cover makes me uncomfortable… especially in times like these. Absolutely tone deaf.”

“This isn’t satire, this is not empowering to women. You’ve missed the mark by so much hun,” another user wrote.

Carpenter finally revealed the vision behind the controversial cover art after releasing the entire album on Aug. 29.

“It’s like so funny thinking about it now, because I wanted a man playing with my hair,” the 26-year-old explained to Lowe. “I actually used maybe five different men to take that photo because none of them could play with my hair. They were all pulling it. Like they’re all like nervous to be holding my hair and so, the grip looked like they were like yanking it.”

“And the whole purpose of the photo was supposed to be cheeky and airy and playful like, you know, I got myself here. Here I am,” she continued. “Like this is someone I love but also someone that you know emotionally can be doing a lot with my heart and doing a lot with emotions.”

“There was only one shot that was shot on film that had that lighting the way that I wanted it with this facial expression where I’m clearly, you know, in control, even though I’m on all fours. And to me, it was just perfect.”

Sabrina Carpenter simply stunned wearing a baby blue number on the Grammy Awards red carpet.

Carpenter showed her friends and family the album cover before releasing it to the world and claimed there were no wild reactions from her inner circle.

“There was no shift in the universe,” Carpenter confirmed to Lowe. “It was a very normal day. So, when it came out, that was just my initial thing was to sort of be like, ‘Well, then this is, I guess, why putting out something without having the context is always tricky.’”

SABRINA CARPENTER BLASTS CRITICS OF HER SKIMPY TOUR OUTFITS: ‘DON’T COME TO THE SHOW’

The “Manchild” singer admitted she’s been fascinated with the public reaction to the album cover – which she didn’t anticipate.

“If I’m being completely transparent, I don’t do anything anticipating what the reaction will be,” she told Interview magazine. “I only do things that speak to me, that feel right, and make sense when you hear the music. When I came up with the imaging for it, it was so clear to me what it meant. So the reaction is fascinating to me. You just watch it unravel and go, ‘Wow.’”

The internet has also seemingly misinterpreted some of Carpenter’s lyrics on the album, which features storytelling about the singer-songwriter’s own breakup experience.

“My experience and point of view are going to be so different from how other people live their lives,” she allowed. “Sometimes I read things, and I’m like, ‘Wow, I don’t experience this that way, but if they do, then that’s real to them.’”

“But what I’m going through in this record, which is loss and heartbreak and celebration and trying to navigate my life as a young woman – it’s not so much like I’m above it all, but I’m not beneath it, either,” Carpenter added.

Carpenter is no stranger to outrage over her lyrics. She recently opened up about the discourse over songs, which often include sexual innuendos. On tour, Carpenter performed various sex positions during her song “Juno.” The moments often went viral, prompting complaints online.

Her latest album included a few hits with similar innuendos. New songs like “House Tour” and “Tears” have caught the eye of fans.

“I mean, there’s a lot of nuance to this, and I’m not naive to that, but I felt like, ‘Why is this taboo?’ This is something that women experience in such a real way, becoming comfortable with themselves and who they are,” Carpenter told Interview about her choice to write about the touchy topic. “There’s so many reasons why I called it ‘Man’s Best Friend’ and there’s so many layers in the experiences that I was going through at the time where, emotionally, I felt like one.”

“I’m really, really grateful that there’s enough of my audience that really knows me as a person that will be able to hear these songs how they’re intended. It’s always going to be up to interpretation and I understand that. But I’m glad you like my sexual content.”

Ireland Baldwin defended stepmom, Hilaria Baldwin, from critics ahead of her “Dancing with the Stars” debut.

While Ireland admitted Hilaria can be “bat s— crazy,” she credited her stepmom for saving Alec Baldwin’s life and jokingly revealed she won’t be getting an inheritance from her TV star dad.

“I think if people actually knew her the way I do, they would be quite surprised,” Ireland wrote in a lengthy Instagram post. “This post may come out of left field since I don’t post about her or any family members much. I expect misinformed comments and plenty of comments about me only playing nice so I can secure my inheritance. C’mon, people. I see the comments. I’m not getting an inheritance. I have 7 siblings.”

“These thoughts have been on my mind since I last visited her on the east coast. Hilaria has had a far more complex and chaotic upbringing than she lets on and I think that’s why we’ve maybe bonded in someways? She didn’t always feel safe and seen. Sometimes, she is too loyal to a fault. She is eccentric and totally bat s— crazy (in a fun way) but she saved my dad’s life.”

According to Ireland, Hilaria has helped Alec healthwise but also mentally.

“She turned his health around and has shown him the forgiveness and kindness that he needed,” she continued. “She also recognizes and nourishes the parts of my father that are the most compassionate and wonderful. She’s taught him that he doesn’t need to suffer inside of his own head and stay stuck in his own past. That it’s never too late to admit you need help and it’s never too late to learn to be kind to yourself.”

“Hilaria is the reason I am able to have the close relationship with my father that I do. She is the reason I get to have siblings/a big family that I’ve always wanted. She has always respected me, accepted my flaws, embraced me, and has always shown me kindness. I met her as a teenager and I needed her as an example. I still very much look up to her now. I am so proud of her for doing Dancing With the Stars and I CANNOT wait to cheer her [a–] on. She deserves this! And it’s not my place to share the ins and outs, but this woman is a gem and deserves all the love.”

The yoga instructor addressed criticism ahead of the show’s premiere.

“Everybody these days has their critics, whether they’re in the spotlight or not,” she told USA Today. “I’ve learned in my 40s that if you go through life trying to prove things to people, then you’re missing the point, and you’re missing being present.”

“You collect the good and the bad in life along the way,” she told the outlet. “We’re all looking forward.”

  • Channing Tatum’s dramatic 70-pound weight loss left film crew concerned for actor’s health

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Channing Tatum’s dramatic weight loss for his role in the upcoming film “Roofman” left people “concerned.”

Tatum dropped nearly 70 pounds for “Roofman” after gaining weight for his previous role in “Josephine.” The actor’s latest film focuses on the story of Jeffrey Manchester, a real-life criminal who escaped prison and hid inside a Toys R Us store for months.

“Jeff is a really thin guy,” Tatum explained during an interview with Variety. “He’s not as big-bonded as me. I think he’s tall, but he’s just really wiry.

“I had just done a role earlier that year, and I got up to 240 [pounds],” he added, referring to his role as Damien in “Josephine.” “I only planned to get down to 185. Once I was already going [with] the days of shooting, it kept coming off. I got down to 172.”

Tatum’s intense weight loss led assistant director Mariela Comitini to become “concerned,” according to “Roofman” director Derek Cianfrance.

“She’s like, ‘That’s it.’ She’s like, ‘Get him a steak right now,’” Tatum recalled. “I was like, ‘I think you’re right.’ This is weird.”

Tatum said his transformation had “sort of an emptiness and a sadness to it.”

“I would see myself and just seem hollow,” he added. “The movie to me was a lot of loneliness. A real meditation for that wanting to be full. … That empty feeling sucks after a while.”

“We back up! lol. 1st photo is today 205. 2nd photo 235 for a movie called Josephine Then went to 3rd photo which is 172 for a movie Roofman,” he captioned the set of photos. “I’m so grateful for my genetics. Grateful for my chef/nutritionist/witch. Grateful for my trainer.

“I couldn’t make these big swings in my weight without you guys,” Tatum added. “But i won’t be doing anymore fat roles haha. It’s to [sic] hard on the body and too hard to take off now. But d— when i look at these pics it’s just wild what the human body and will can do.”

  • Eagles legend Brian Westbrook loves how team won’t watch Super Bowl banner ceremony: ‘One is not enough’

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Philadelphia Eagles legend Brian Westbrook heard head coach Nick Sirianni say the team wouldn’t be watching their Super Bowl LIX banner rise at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday night.

Westbrook couldn’t love that mentality more.

While the entire city of Philadelphia will be ecstatic to see the franchise’s second Super Bowl banner of all time rise on Thursday night during the NFL’s 2025 season kickoff against the Dallas Cowboys, this year’s Eagles team is focused on winning another Vince Lombardi Trophy at the end of the new season.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM

Westbrook spoke to Fox News Digital after working with USAA as part of its Recycled Rides NFL Kickoff on Wednesday, gifting a new car to a deserving military service member, where he discussed the Eagles’ mentality heading into 2025.

“The one thing I love about this team this offseason was their approach,” he explained. “This offseason wasn’t about them doing a victory lap around Philadelphia and the United States saying they’re the best team in football, they beat the reigning champs, and they did this, that and the other. It wasn’t about that. It was about refocusing. It was about saying, ‘Yeah, we won last year, but we have something else we want to prove, and one is not enough. Now, we have to go out there and earn it again.’

“That’s what this offseason was about for this football team.”

COWBOYS’ CEEDEE LAMB SAYS HE PLANS TO WATCH EAGLES’ SUPER BOWL VICTORY CELEBRATION

Westbrook added that, in those conversations with Eagles players, he’s only heard about offseason workouts and looking ahead to 2025 instead of reminiscing about the Super Bowl.

A big part of that, in Westbrook’s eyes, has been the leadership of Jalen Hurts, the team’s franchise quarterback.

    Brian Westbrook smiles

“Chip on his shoulder,” Westbrook said of Hurts, who enters his sixth year in an Eagles uniform. “People are still doubting him. Super Bowl MVP and people are still doubting him. So, Jalen walks around with a little chip on his shoulder, and I appreciate that because I played with that as well. His ability to lead this team is going to say a lot, and I think he’s an awesome leader.”

Of course, you can’t talk about the 2024 Eagles without mentioning their biggest free agent pickup, running back Saquon Barkley, who went on to lead the NFL in rushing yards and scrimmage yards in his debut season in Philadelphia.

Westbrook, having played Barkley’s position while a member of the Eagles, knows how important he is to the team’s success now and in the future. But his favorite thing about Barkley is his selfless nature, where winning no matter his role takes precedent.

“Saquon is one of the best teammates you can possibly have,” Westbrook said. “He understands and believes that, ‘If we need to throw the ball 50 times a game, I’m willing to block 50 times. If we need to run the ball, I’ll run the ball 50 times.’ So, he’s selfless in that way. He wants to win games.”

The Chiefs would’ve cemented their place as an NFL dynasty if they came out victorious in New Orleans earlier this year. After all, no team in league history has ever won three straight Super Bowls.

But looking at this Eagles team, and how GM Howie Roseman has crafted this bunch to has a large championship window in the coming years, perhaps this is the squad where the word “dynasty” comes back around.

“I don’t think you can throw the word dynasty around quite yet,” Westbrook replied when asked that very question. “I think you have to win a couple more in a row to do that. I mean, [2017] was huge, but coming back last year was huge as well. Before you can have a dynasty, you need to win a few of them. But talent wise, they have the ability to do that. They have the ability to go back-to-back and have the ability to win an awful lot of games this year. As a fan, I hate to throw dynasty around until it actually happens.

“So, I won’t use it, but I can certainly see why people say this team has the potential to be a dynasty.”

Westbrook was right outside where the Eagles will be playing on Thursday night, as he helped USAA, the official “Salute to Service” partner of the NFL, gift a vehicle to Airman First Class Keskel Yatrofsky, who is currently serving in the United States Air Force in the 2nd Air Refueling Squadron based out of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurt.

Yatrofsky received a 2023 Toyota Camry completely repaired and donated by the National Auto Body Council Recycled Ride, which focuses providing reliable transportation to those in need.

“Moments like this go down as some of the most special times in my life,” he said. “I think about my kids and what we’re teaching them about gratitude, giving back, about doing things for others that make their day.

  • Bill Belichick’s UNC coaching debut ends in blowout home loss to TCU

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Bill Belichick had a “welcome to college football” moment on Monday night, as his North Carolina Tar Heels were blown out by the TCU Horned Frogs, 48-14, to begin the 2025 college football season.

It was a night filled with expectation, celebrity appearances and pure hype at Kenan Stadium, as Belichick’s first taste of being a college football head coach started on home turf in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels were hoping to usher in a new era with a victory to not only notch another first under Belichick’s resume, but get the program heading in the right direction from the jump.

The Horned Frogs had another thing in mind, though, as they were fazed by the screaming crowd of over 50,000, which included the likes of Randy Moss, Michael Jordan, Roy Williams, Lawrence Taylor and many more.

The Belichick era began with an impressive North Carolina opening-drive touchdown, as the Tar Heels went 83 yards down the field with Caleb Hood capping it with his first score of the season.

But it was all TCU after that, scoring 41 unanswered points on their way to an easy victory.

Horned Frogs quarterback Josh Hoover was dicing up the Tar Heels’ defense, and it started with a 27-yard strike to Jordan Dwyer, who was a favorite all night long in the pass game, for a touchdown that tied the game at seven apiece following the extra point.

TCU got more physical on defense, especially at the line of scrimmage, which hindered what UNC wanted to do when they had possession. The Horned Frogs held them to three straight three-and-outs, while taking the lead with a field goal early in the second quarter.

North Carolina seemed to get some momentum back when Hoover’s pass was too high for his intended receiver, and the Tar Heels’ Kaleb Cost made an acrobatic interception to flip the field.

But UNC quarterback Gio Lopez gave the ball right back to TCU, and it was in the worst way as veteran safety Bud Clark jumped a route and took the interception 25 yards to the house for a pick-six that made it 17-7. The Horned Frogs would end the half with a short field goal, taking a commanding 20-7 lead into the locker room as the crowd was stunned.

That feeling wouldn’t end, though, as the very first play of the second half was a 75-yard touchdown run by Horned Frogs star running back Kevorian Barnes, who went untouched down the right sideline to break the game open.

UNC was unable to come back at that point, as the Horned Frogs continued to run up the score with running back Trent Battle rushing for 28 yards to make it 34-7, and Lopez was sacked by Jonathan Bax, leading his Horned Frogs teammate Devean Deal to scoop up the fumbled football and run it back 37 yards for yet another touchdown.

At that point, Belichick switched quarterbacks, going with Max Johnson, who led a touchdown drive late in the third quarter to add some points for the Tar Heels. But the game was out of reach, and it’s clear the Tar Heels have much to work on heading into next week.

Meanwhile, Hoover showed out in front of many NFL scouts, going 27-of-36 for 284 yards with two touchdown passes and one interception thrown. Barnes had 11 carries for 113 yards, while Dwyer hauled in nine receptions for a whopping 136 yards to help TCU’s cause.

No one expected Belichick to immediately turn the program around and get them to compete for a national title, but this was a shocking result to be dominated at home to kick off his collegiate coaching career.

  • Kim Novak, 92, says ‘it’s close to the end’ as Hollywood legend reflects on leaving industry at career peak

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Kim Novak reflected on aging and her decision to turn her back on Hollywood in an attempt to reclaim her story.

“It’s not easy getting old,” Novak, 92, said in the upcoming documentary “Kim Novak’s Vertigo,” according to People magazine. “I’m feeling it’s close to the end.”

“I’ve been feeling the need to free something….” the beginning of the film began.

Novak famously chose to leave Hollywood at what many considered would have been the peak of her career. “When I left, I was at the top of my game,” she said in the documentary about her exit from the industry in 1966.

KIM NOVAK EXPLAINS WHY SHE LEFT HOLLYWOOD: ‘I FELT LIKE I WAS LOSING MYSELF’

“Hollywood swallowed people whole,” Novak said, referencing Marilyn Monroe’s death. The actress died at 36 and her death was ruled a possible suicide by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. “I didn’t want that to happen to me,” Novak noted.

The “Picnic” star turned her back on Hollywood after her Bel Air home was destroyed in a mudslide. She chose a cliff dwelling in Big Sur to become her place to start over, where she focused on other artistic skills.

“My survival mode was to paint,” Novak said.

Novak opened up about how she felt waking up on her first morning after leaving Hollywood in a 2021 interview with Fox News Digital.

“Liberated. Totally liberated,” she recalled. “I thought, ‘Wow, I’m going to live my dream and not for someone else.’ It was wonderful. My cat was purring, the birds were singing, the waves were crashing – we were all just content.”

“The first thing I did when I woke up was to get all my art equipment, set up my easel and look out the window,” Novak added. “I thought to myself, ‘This is paradise.’ Hollywood offers money and prestige, but nothing ever compares to that feeling I felt that morning.”

“This is not a Hollywood-y documentary of famous names, this is about Kim, the person,” Novak’s manager, Sue Cameron, said. “She turned down a million dollars to write her autobiography 25 years ago. Because they wanted all the Hollywood dirt, and she says, ‘No, that’s not who I am, I won’t do it.’”

“She’s the last living golden goddess of film,” Cameron said. “And what’s more important is in this documentary, we show her as the true fighter she was for women, even way back in the ’50s, when they tried to force her to wear certain makeup, and she would go wipe it off. She was the very first woman to have her own production company.”

Taylor Swift welcomed Gigi Hadid into her girl squad in 2014 – after the two were photographed at an Oscars after party together. Hadid is notoriously featured in Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video and the two are still spotted on dinner dates years later.

“As a friend, Gigi is one of the first people I go to for advice,” Swift told Harper’s Bazaar in 2016. “She has this incredible ability to see all sides of a situation and simplify it for you, to see the complexity of people…Gigi’s #1 rule is to treat people the way she’d want to be treated, so she’s on time (or early) to work, says hello to everyone on set, asks them how they are, and actually listens to their response. She is an innately kind and inclusive person who has managed to become a huge power player and businesswoman without ever compromising that.”

Sabrina Carpenter, who opened for Swift on “The Eras Tour,” has been a longtime fan of the pop star, but it’s unclear when the two actually formed a friendship. Carpenter and Swift were first photographed together at an MTV VMAs after-party in 2022. By June 2023, Swift had announced Carpenter would be joining her on tour.

The two have also been spotted together outside the music world, with Carpenter joining Swift for the Kansas City Chiefs game against the New York Jets. Carpenter will even be featured on Swift’s 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

Carpenter didn’t reveal much when asked about her collaboration with Swift in an interview with “CBS Mornings,” but did express excitement for the pop star’s engagement.

“I’m just happy for them,” Carpenter said.

Swift has been close to actress Zoë Kravitz since at least 2016. The two have been spotted out and about together in the years since.

Kravitz and Swift were quarantined together during the COVID-19 pandemic and the “Caught Stealing” actress recently stayed at the pop star’s home during the California fires.

Kravitz revealed that she contributed a tiny bit to Swift’s 12th album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” after helping with background vocals on a previous song.

    Jason Kelce

There’s a strong likelihood Jason Kelce could be Travis Kelce’s best man.

The two brothers have grown closer than ever since launching their podcast, “New Heights,” in 2022.

“Travis and I have been close for a long time,” he told People magazine. “Now with the [New Heights] podcast, we talk to each other more than we ever have. We loved each other growing up. We still love each other. Now it’s more like peer to peer, whereas growing up, being the older brother, it was a little bit different.”

Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, would also likely play a significant role in the couple’s wedding celebration.

Kelce’s friend and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is also a big contender.

Kelce was a groomsman to the NFL star when he married wife Brittany Mahomes in 2022. Now it might be Mahomes’ turn as Kelce marries Swift.

“He means the world to me, man,” Mahomes recently told reporters about his friendship with Kelce.

Brittany and Swift have been spotted together at a handful of Kansas City Chiefs games, cheering on their respective love interests. The two have also spent time together outside of football.

The Mahomes joined Swift and Kelce on a double date days before Super Bowl LIX.

Kumar Ferguson—Kelce’s childhood friend and now longtime personal chef—could easily be part of the groom’s inner circle at the wedding.

Ferguson is often spotted in Kelce’s suite on game day after cooking up meals for the NFL star.

“Being brothers is funny because we can throw shots at each other all day, but Travis is incredible when it comes to professionalism and just being on top of taking whatever he’s investing into,” Ferguson told Kansas City magazine when asked if Kelce ever critiques his meals.

    Aric Jones

Kelce’s childhood friend Aric Jones could make the list. The two grew up together in Cleveland Heights and have since stayed close.

Jones previously explained how Kelce’s closest friends have formed a “cohesive unit” to support the tight end in his career.

“So obviously, Kumar’s making the food for Trav, and Trav gets his haircut on game days by Patty Cuts,” he told People magazine. “He will drive to the game with one or two people, depending on who they are. I don’t go to the games with Trav because my job is to be on the party bus entertaining the guests.”

“I’m up in the front and as loud as I can be. I’m the fan guy,” Jones said. “These people know me as I’m the one up there interacting with the fans, being loud in the suite, getting all the energy exactly where it needs to be in the front. There’s a party in the back, energy in the front.”

Former Chiefs’ tight end Ross Travis and Kelce have been friends after playing together for years.

While Travis hasn’t played for the Chiefs since 2017, the two have remained close. Travis is often spotted in Kelce’s suite at Arrowhead Stadium. He even tagged along to see Swift perform in Sydney, Australia.

“I understand now,” he wrote on his Instagram story after attending Swift’s “Eras Tour” alongside Kelce. “That. Was. Amazing.”

American Idol” music executive Robin Kaye and her husband Thomas DeLuca’s official causes of death have been released.

Kaye, 70, and DeLuca, 70, each died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s office.

The manner of death was listed as homicide for the couple, Fox News Digital can confirm. The autopsy reports have not been released.

DeLuca died seconds after being shot around 4:45 p.m. on July 10, according to the death certificates, which were obtained by People. Kaye died minutes after the suspect shot her.

Kaye and DeLuca were found dead inside their home on July 14 when the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) conducted a welfare check.

A friend of the couple had contacted authorities after not hearing from Kaye or DeLuca for days. The police were given access to get inside the gate by the friend, and they found signs of trouble outside. Officers broke a window to enter, and they discovered the couple shot to death.

Kaye and her husband narrowly missed a police presence outside their home on the day they were shot and killed by an intruder – the couple returned home about 25 minutes after police left their house following a neighbor’s call about someone scaling the fence.

After Kaye and DeLuca returned home, a second 911 call came through to the LAPD. The caller could be heard saying “someone broke into my office,” and “don’t shoot me,” NBC4 Los Angeles reported.

According to detectives, GPS coordinates placed the caller inside Kaye and DeLuca’s home.

Investigators believe the suspect scaled a fence to gain access to the home and was able to enter through an unlocked door. LAPD Lt. Guy Golan previously told Fox News Digital police believe the suspect was inside the house for about 30 minutes when the victims returned home, and a violent struggle took place. Kaye and Deluca died of their injuries, and the suspect fled on foot.

Following the murders, Encino residents gathered at a town hall meeting on July 21 to discuss concerns over rising crime in the area.

“This murder could have been avoided,” Heather Michaels from the Encino Neighborhood Council said, according to Fox11. “The community feels unsafe. They are frightened. A lot of the elderly don’t even want to come out of their homes.”

Kaye and DeLuca attended another neighborhood safety meeting the night before they were killed, according to NBC4 Los Angeles.

“I had a chance to connect with Robin and Tom, sitting at the same table, for about two hours,” Capt. Mike Bland admitted during a July 21 safety meeting, according to the outlet. At the second meeting, which occurred after Kaye and DeLuca were murdered, officers promised to increase patrolling in Encino-area neighborhoods.

  • Browns make stunning Kenny Pickett trade to Raiders as backup quarterback role remains wide open

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The Cleveland Browns are not carrying four quarterbacks on their 53-man roster after all, following a stunning trade on Monday night.

The Browns dealt veteran Kenny Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round NFL Draft pick.

The Raiders were desperate for a backup quarterback to Geno Smith, whom they traded for earlier this offseason with the Seattle Seahawks to reunite him with his old head coach, Pete Carroll. Aidan O’Connell fractured his wrist during the Raiders’ preseason finale, sidelining him for 6–8 weeks.

O’Connell was expected to back up Smith this season, but that lengthy absence forced Las Vegas to look elsewhere. Carroll mentioned wanting someone with starting experience, and the Raiders get that in the fourth-year man out of Pitt.

Pickett has 25 starts under his NFL belt, going 15–10 over that span with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, he couldn’t solidify the starting job there, ultimately leading to a trade to the Philadelphia Eagles before the 2024 season. It was there that Pickett backed up Jalen Hurts on the Eagles’ way to a Super Bowl LIX victory last season.

BROWNS CUT PRO BOWL QUARTERBACK AS TEAM TRIMS ROSTER AHEAD OF REGULAR SEASON

Pickett was then traded from Philadelphia to Cleveland, as the Browns were assembling their quarterback room with Deshaun Watson sidelined by a torn Achilles. Pickett was competing with veteran Joe Flacco—already named the Week 1 starter by head coach Kevin Stefanski—as well as rookies Dillon Gabriel (third round) and Shedeur Sanders (fifth round).

A hamstring injury suffered early in training camp cost Pickett valuable time to compete for his roster spot. He didn’t play in any of the team’s preseason games, though Stefanski mentioned after the finale against the Los Angeles Rams that he believed Pickett would return in time for Week 1.

With Flacco already locked in as the starter, the question of who Stefanski would choose as the Browns’ backup gained extra attention, especially with the national spotlight on Sanders, the son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. ESPN recently reported that the Browns were preparing to carry four quarterbacks on their 53-man roster, but the trade changes that entire situation.

Tyler “Snoop” Huntley, brought in after Pickett and Gabriel dealt with early training camp injuries, was reportedly waived by the Browns following his preseason action.

So while Pickett figures to step in as the Raiders’ backup quarterback to start the season, who will sit behind Flacco on the Browns’ depth chart will remain a topic of speculation until Stefanski makes the call.

Sanders strengthened his case with an impressive preseason debut against the Carolina Panthers, completing 14 of 23 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns, along with four carries for 19 yards. Injury kept him out of the team’s second game, but he returned in the second half of the finale against the Rams, where he struggled—finishing just 3 of 6 for 14 yards while taking five sacks.

Gabriel, after missing the opener, played in the final two preseason matchups. He completed 25 of 37 passes for 272 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Against the Rams, he went 12 of 19 for 129 yards and threw his lone touchdown of the preseason.

The Browns’ roster, along with every other NFL team, must be finalized by Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline.

Paramount Television Studios confirmed Borella had died during filming of the fifth season.

“We are deeply saddened to confirm the sudden passing of a member of the ‘Emily in Paris’ production family,” a spokesperson for Paramount told People magazine. “Our hearts go out to the individual’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”

Borella collapsed while filming a final scene inside Hotel Danieli in Venice on Aug. 21, according to multiple local outlets. La Repubblica reported the assistant director was treated by medics on set, but was unable to be revived.

The assistant director was hired locally and had trained in Rome, London and New York.

Collins opened up about portraying the marketing genius Emily in the hit Netflix show ahead of the last season. “Emily in Paris” focused on an American girl working in marketing who moves to Paris to follow her career dreams.

“I was happy that this season you really get to see Emily feel all the feelings and have a breakdown and not look perfect all the time and actually be more vulnerable,” Collins said during an episode of Vanity Fair’s “Still Watching” podcast.

“I think that this season we get to see her be more complex, and be okay being more complex.”

  • Business spat between Daryl Hall and John Oates has been resolved in arbitration, attorneys say

    [ad_1]

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Daryl Hall and John Oates have resolved their dispute over a Hall & Oates business partnership through arbitration, reaching a private ending after details of their rift went public in court documents filed in a 2023 lawsuit by Hall against Oates, according to a court filing Monday.

In Monday’s status report, attorneys for Hall noted the case received a final judgment in arbitration and they filed a proposed order for the judge, Nashville Chancellor Russell Perkins, to dismiss the case. In mid-July, Perkins ordered Hall’s attorneys to offer an update in the case, which had last seen a public filing in December 2023.

It’s unclear when the arbitration process was finalized. And details were not revealed about the arbitration outcome between the duo who made music together for more than a half century, including hits in the 1970s and ’80s such as “Maneater,” “Rich Girl” “Kiss on My List” and “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do).”

Robb Harvey, an attorney for Hall, declined to comment. Representatives for Oates did not immediately respond to The Associated Press’ request for comment.

In 2023 filings in the case, Hall accused Oates of blindsiding and betraying him, saying their relationship and his trust in Oates have deteriorated. Oates replied that he was “deeply hurt” that Hall was making “inflammatory, outlandish, and inaccurate statements” about him.

The judge had paused the sale of Oates’ stake in Whole Oats Enterprises LLP to Primary Wave IP Investment Management LLC. Whole Oats includes valuable Hall & Oates materials such as trademarks, personal name and likeness rights, record royalty income and website and social media assets, a court declaration says.

The dispute went public in November 2023, when Hall filed the lawsuit asking the judge to stop the sale by Oates so private arbitration could begin.

Hall gave a scathing account of their relationship in early November 2023 during arbitration, and it was made public later in the month in the lawsuit. It alleges that Oates and his team engaged in the “ultimate partnership betrayal” by pushing to sell his share while telling Hall’s associates that he wanted to maintain his ownership.

In his own declaration, Oates expressed disappointment with his longtime partner’s words, saying Hall’s accusations that Oates went behind his back and breached their agreement aren’t true. Oates declined to go into specifics, saying he’s obligated to keep details private, even if Hall didn’t.

Last year, Oates told The Associated Press that he’s had “no communication” with Hall and declined to discuss the legal proceedings. He did not see a Hall & Oates reunion in his future.

“I personally don’t see it happening. It’s not in my plans at all. You can ask Daryl Hall what he thinks. But for me personally, no,” he says.

The Times asked Hall in February if the ship had sailed on mending the pair’s relationship.

“That ship has gone to the bottom of the ocean,” Hall told the news outlet. “I’ve had a lot of surprises in my life, disappointments, betrayals, so I’m kind of used to it.”
