Prince Harry Was Not Invited to King Charles III’s Birthday Celebration

Prince Harry will not be in attendance for King Charles III’s upcoming birthday celebration.

“In response to UK media headlines, there has been no contact regarding an invitation to His Majesty’s upcoming birthday,” Harry’s spokesperson tells Us Weekly.

A source initially told Us on Monday, November 6, that Harry, 39, declined the invitation to the royal event. Charles, 74, will be holding a celebration with his friends and family at Clarence House in London for his 75th birthday on November 14.

Harry recently flew overseas from California, where he lives with wife Meghan Markle and their two children, for a handful of big events. In September, the Sussexes showed their support at the 2023 Invictus Games — which Harry founded in 2014 — in Germany. On the way there, Harry made a brief stop in the U.K. to attend the 2023 WellChild Awards. During his brief stay, Harry paid his respects to his late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II at St. George’s Chapel while marking the first anniversary of her death. (Elizabeth died in September 2022 at age 96.)

“Everybody knows how close Harry and the queen had always been so visiting [her burial site] and being able to pay his respects meant the world to him,” a source exclusively told Us at the time. “Although Harry is living in the States now, the U.K. will always feel like home to him, so it felt very special that he was able to attend.”

Despite being in town, Harry didn’t visit his father or his brother, Prince William. Harry has been at odds with Charles and William, 41, since he and Meghan, 42, stepped down from their senior royal duties in March 2020 and moved their family to California. Since their exit, the couple — who share son Archie, 4, and daughter Lilibet, 2 — have spoken out about the ups and downs they experienced as members of the royal family, some of which Harry wrote about in his memoir, Spare.

Harry and Charles previously reunited in May for the latter’s coronation ceremony. Meghan did not attend the historic occasion, instead opting to stay in the U.S. to celebrate Archie’s 4th birthday. Harry jetted back home shortly after the coronation festivities ended to be with his wife and children.

“My understanding is [Harry] didn’t have any interactions with the Prince or Princess of Wales but that he did have a conversation with his father the night before,” royal expert Nick Bullen exclusively told Us in May.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and More Stars at Katy Perry’s Vegas Show

The final night of Katy Perry’s Las Vegas residency was a star-studded affair, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in attendance.

Celebrities such as Celine Dion, Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden were also seen in the audience watching the closing night of the 39-year-old’s Play on Saturday, November 4.

But Perry is no stranger to performing in front of the royal family. In May, she performed her hits “Roar” and “Firework” at King Charles III’s coronation concert. Ahead of the festivities, Perry explained her connection to the monarch.

“I met His Majesty-to-be a few years ago and he named me as one of the ambassadors to his organization, The British Asian Trust, which is an organization that helps fight to end child trafficking,” Perry said. “I’m also an ambassador for UNICEF, and it really aligned with my values. That’s mostly why I’m going, to be an ambassador and to say, ‘Hey, this is me from the USA.’ No, but it’s so cool.”

Following her performance at the coronation, Perry’s 2018 comments regarding Markle’s wedding dress resurfaced. “I would’ve done one more fitting,” the American Idol judge said regarding the 42-year-old’s simple white Givenchy gown.

At the time, Perry went on to praise the Alexander McQueen dress Princess Kate wore when she tied the knot with Prince William in 2011. “Kate won,” Perry said. “Kate won. I’m sorry. I’m never not going to tell the truth … One more fitting, but I love you.”

Despite the comments, Harry, 39, and Perry’s fiancé, Orlando Bloom, seem to have a cordial relationship. Harry revealed on the “Armchair Expert” with Dax Shepard podcast in 2021 that the foursome were neighbors in Montecito, California.

“Just two days ago, Orlando Bloom sent me a message — because he’s just down the road and we sort of keep in contact,” Harry said at the time, noting that the two talk about security in the neighborhood.

While Saturday’s concert included many A-list celebrities, there was one audience member that caught Perry’s eye. During the show, the “Dark Horse” singer gave a sweet shout-out to her 3-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, whom she shares with Bloom, 46.

“I created this show after the birth of my daughter, Daisy Dove,” Perry said on stage. “When I met her, it was like all the love I was ever searching for finally showed up. She made me whole, and she healed me, and she showed me how to play again. So this show is for everyone’s inner child and for the hope that maybe if we could all see life through the eyes of a child, we would be free.”

Princess Eugenie Got So Starstruck Meeting Sister Sister’s Tia Mowry

Princess Eugenie might be a member of the British royal family, but she’s not immune to getting starstruck by other famous faces.

“Have you seen that TV show called Sister, Sister? Remember that TV show? It was on Nickelodeon and it was that, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Kenan & Kel [which] were our favorite shows,” Eugenie, 33, quipped during the Friday, October 20, episode of Kate Thornton’s “White Wine Question Time” podcast, referring to her older sibling, Princess Beatrice. “I met one of the sisters, Tia, the other night and, oh, my gosh, I got so overexcited!”

Eugenie continued: “I was like, ‘Oh, my God,’ and I took a picture and sent it to [Beatrice] and it was every ‘90s child’s dream in front of me. … I obviously behaved like an idiot the other night, but [yeah], I do get starstruck. I think it’s more about respect.”

Sister, Sister ran for six seasons from 1994 to 1999, costarring real-life twins Tia and Tamera Mowry as Tia Landry and Tamera Campbell. In the pilot, the 16-year-old characters learned that they had been separated at birth and subsequently decided to move in together with their respective parents. Sister, Sister also starred Jackée Harry, Tim Reid, Marques Houston, RonReaco Lee and Deon Richmond.

While meeting Mowry, 45, earlier this month was a big deal for Eugenie, she admitted that she gets “so excited” with a lot of other people she meets — from artists that her Hauser & Wirth Gallery represents or other Hollywood A-Listers.

“There was a film, remember this film called The Truth About Cats and Dogs? Uma Thurman was in it and this guy was in it, I can’t remember his name, but I saw him at a pizza place in London and I was just like, ‘Woah,’” Eugenie quipped on Friday. “I had seen the film when I was young, like, every week and I ran up to him and was like, ‘I’m such a big fan, Oh my god, oh my god,’ and I totally fangirled out. And he was like, ‘Oh thank you so much.’”

While Eugenie did not reveal which cast member of the 1996 film she met while grabbing pizza, the film also stars Ben Chaplin, Jamie Foxx and Bob Odenkirk.

Eugenie does try to keep her composure in public situations, a lesson that she learned from mom Sarah Ferguson.

“My mum, if I ever [was in] a public situation or if I had to talk to the 98-year-old grannie and I was, like, 4 years old, she would turn to me and say, ‘I’ll give you 17 bags of sweets,’ and then I would go over … and be polite,” the princess, whom Ferguson shares with ex-husband Prince Andrew, noted during the podcast episode. “It was a good bargaining chip on how to get me [to behave], but yeah, manners make the man and I’m trying to do it to my kids now.”

Kate Middleton’s New Uniform Includes the Perfect Fall Trousers — Shop Them Here

Middleton also honored her at the same event this past June by wearing Diana’s beloved sapphire and diamond earrings and an Andrew Gn green suit. She most famously wore a blue-and-white polka-dot Jenny Packham dress when returning home from giving birth to Prince George in 2013, highly reminiscent of Diana’s appearance in a green-and-white Catherine Walker dress outside the hospital with Prince William 31 years earlier.

Middleton’s everyday personal style is just as noteworthy. She’s cemented herself as the royal-family outfit repeater, most notably rewearing her white Alexander McQueen suit on multiple occasions throughout 2022. Middleton has also developed an affinity for Catherine Walker coat dresses and coordinated suit sets, even nailing the Barbiecore trend in a bubblegum-pink suit during a visit to London’s Foundling Museum in May.
