    I have a soft spot for crisp white sneakers. The only issue? I am a bit on the clumsy side and attract messes like a magnet.     What I love about these sneakers might be obvious, but it can’t be overstated: they’re so easy to clean. I wore them to the Minnesota State Fair recently, and all of my friends kept noting how wearing them there (amid the dirt, spilled food and beverages, etc.) was brave. Little did they know that these sneakers were specifically crafted to be machine-washable. After a long day at the event, I got home, removed the insole, threw them in the wash, and left them outside to dry. The result was pristine-looking white sneakers.     These sneakers also deliver exceptional comfort and versatility. Personally, I’m drawn to the sophisticated aesthetic of their knit upper, which gives their overall design an elevated touch. Per its website, Fullup says the knitted part of the sneaker is made of rPET, or certified recycled polyester spun from discarded plastic water bottles. (Ten plastic bottles go into every pair of Fullup trainers.) They also use water-based glue to connect the upper to the sole, which is a safer alternative for the environment than regular shoe adhesive. What’s more, the brand says they use an eco-friendly dyeing method that requires nearly 50 percent less water than conventional techniques and make shoes in small batches to prevent overproduction.

    It’s important to note that these sneakers are not a small investment. I understand their price point isn’t attainable for all, but they’re remarkably cleanable. They can save you money in the long run by sparing you the need to replace your white sneakers frequently. In my personal experience, having owned them for just a month and a half, I’ve already given them three thorough washes, and they appear as pristine as the day I first got them. So, despite the steep upfront cost, their longevity could justify the investment over time.

    Eva Chen is undoubtedly one of the fashion industry’s most respected journalists and global forces. After a life-changing internship in Harper’s Bazaar’s features and beauty divisions, she pivoted from her initial plans to be a doctor, choosing to work in media instead. Decades later, she boasts an accomplished résumé of prominent roles, including editor-in-chief of Lucky Magazine and beauty and health director at Teen Vogue. Chen now serves as the head of Instagram’s Fashion Partnerships team, all while sharing content with her day-to-day life with over 2.5 million followers on the platform — including the popular #EvaChenpose detail shot she coined by taking pictures of her covetable accessories during car rides. Apart from the many roles she effortlessly conquers, the 42-year-old is a proud mother of three, which has inspired a slew of children’s books, including Juno Valentine, as well as her latest venture — a kids collection with the household American brand H&M.

    The collaboration gives us another glimpse at Chen’s ’90s-inspired fashion sense (think high-waisted denim and power suits), while creating eco-friendly and timeless pieces children will enjoy. “I wanted to create a collection that was at the crossroads of sustainability and style and also be something that was really accessible to families all across the US,” she tells POPSUGAR. “I have three kids, and I have a lot of my friends with kids, and the best moment for us was always sending each other hand-me-downs. And so, that kind of sense of circularity and style is really at the heart of this collection.”

    The collection oozes personality with fashion-forward pieces ranging from denim-on-denim to cozy striped sweaters made of recycled materials like cotton and lyocell. Chen says her daughter’s carefree sense of style influenced the cheerful designs. “I feel like people put a lot of pressure to discover their personal style at a very early age,” she says. “But having joy and discovery in fashion and not feeling like you have to be always defined by one look or style is important. And I look at my 8-year-old daughter, and she’ll mix stripes with ruffles with polka dots and then wear two different-colored socks, but on purpose. She’s utterly unselfconscious about it, and that really inspires me.”

    Fall is rapidly approaching, and I couldn’t be more excited. While we’re nearing crisp fall weather and cozy layers, we’re not there just yet, so to hold me over until I can break out all of my cashmere, leather, and layers, I’m leaning into lightweight knitwear. I love a light cotton sweater or loose-weave knit to kick off the fall season—they give you that cozy feeling while still allowing airflow.

    The breathability factor is key when searching for a beginning-of-fall knit, so opting for an open-weave material that doesn’t trap heat or a cardigan I can leave open is my strategy. A knit dress or tank top is another great way to start incorporating the texture into your wardrobe before the weather fully permits. I love investing in a lightweight knit at the beginning of the season to start wearing immediately, then layer over a long-sleeved T-shirt once the temperatures start to drop. This is currently the number one item on my fall shopping list, so I’ve saved all my favorite options to strategize my first purchase of the season.     I don’t know about you, but I’m counting down the days until fall. Don’t get me wrong.
