    Prince George’s County Police Chief George Nader said it began shortly after 7 a.m., when officers were called to Watkins Park Plaza for a report of an unresponsive man. They found 65-year-old Joseph Holt III, of Upper Marlboro, dead inside his car from a gunshot wound.

    Nearly 13 hours later, around 8:10 p.m., officers were called to the 12000 block of Darlenen Street for reports of a shooting and found a man shot inside his vehicle.

    As police investigated, they found a second victim, a woman, inside her vehicle on Cambleton Drive. She had been shot in the stomach, according to Nader.

    Both the man and woman were taken to the hospital. Police described the man as being in stable condition and woman as being in critical, but stable, condition.

    A third person in the area had been shot at while in their vehicle, but was not struck, police said in a news release.

    Police quickly canvassed the area and found a person of interest on Cambleton Drive. A rifle was recovered and has been linked to Holt’s killing earlier in the day.

    “We have the person we believe responsible, person of interest, in custody,” Nader said.

    Police do not believe the shooter knew any of the victims.

    “We don’t think it was a D.C. Sniper type incident, but we do believe one individual was responsible for all of those shootings,” Nader said.

    He added that there is no ongoing threat to the community. As for a motive, Nader said it remains under investigation.

    “There may be robberies, but there may be some other significance that comes up with this individual as we explore a little bit more into their history,” he said.

    Nader also commended the bravery of the officers who took the person of interest into custody.

    “If they had not acted as fast as they did … this individual would not have been apprehended as fast as they were, and we don’t know what the other outcomes could be from that,” he said.

    Three men were arrested after a person was robbed of his $22,000 gold chain and shot in the stomach inside the Supreme streetwear store in the Miami Design District, according to police.

    Miami police officers were sent to an emergency around 4:20 p.m. Saturday at the store, 45 NE 41st St., which displays a skate bowl suspended over the main floor, an arrest affidavit said.

    They found a man with a gunshot wound, who briefly told officers about the robbery before he was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. The man told a police investigator at the hospital that he was shopping when three men approached him.

    He recognized the men “because they are all from the Atlanta area and have had problems with each other,” the affidavit said.

    An argument broke out. One of the men is accused of walking behind the victim, ripping the chain off his neck and running.

    The victim ran after him, and one of the men shot him in the stomach, the affidavit said. The three men got in a white Mercedes-Benz, which was being driven by a fourth man, and left.

    Detectives later found the car at a dead-end portion of Northeast 10th Avenue.

    Police arrested Jamar McKay, who police say snatched the gold chain, Omarion Phillips, and the alleged getaway driver, Kevieon Smith, on Saturday night. . The gunman was not taken into custody at that time.

    A Miami Police spokesperson did not respond to requests Monday for comment on whether the gunman was still at large.

    McKay, 25, of Mobile, Alabama, is facing one count of armed robbery. Phillips, 20, of Atlanta, is accused of one count of accessory after the fact. Smith, 21, of Riviera Beach, allegedly committed one count of accessory after the fact and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

    The men were being held at the Miami-Dade Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Monday afternoon, jail records show.

    One man has been arrested and charged with murder after police in Prince George’s County said he took part in a gunfight outside a banquet hall that left three people dead. 

    One man has been arrested and charged with murder after police in Prince George’s County said he took part in a gunfight outside a banquet hall that left three people dead over the weekend.

    The shooting happened early Saturday morning outside Irving’s in Marlow Heights and involved people who were attending a birthday party at the establishment, according to police. Irving’s has been shut down and county officials implied the banquet hall did not follow proper security protocols.

    Pierre Davis, 33, of D.C., 26-year-old Kevon Williams, also of D.C., and 27-year-old Ronez Proctor, of Waldorf, Maryland, were killed as a result of the gunfight.

    Davis and Williams, police said, killed each other in an exchange of gunfire, while 39-year-old Antonio Lancaster, of Laurel, Maryland, is charged with Proctor’s murder.

    Lancaster was arrested after the shooting in Fairfax County, Virginia, and is awaiting extradition to Maryland. He’s been charged with first and second-degree murder as well as two counts of attempted murder and other gun charges.

    An argument inside Irving’s, which was hosting the private birthday party, led to the shootout. As of Monday, Irving’s is closed and a hearing will take place to determine whether or not the business can reopen.

    “You cannot wreak this kind of havoc in our community and expect to go unpunished,” Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Tara Jackson said during a news conference on Monday.

    Police said Proctor was not armed nor involved in the gunfight. According to charging documents, Proctor tried to help one of the other men who’d been shot, which led to a struggle between him and a group of partygoers. During that struggle, the documents say, Proctor was pushed to the ground, at which point Lancaster approached him and fatally shot him from close range.

    “We believe that alcohol contributed to irrational thinking and behavior — not that it excuses anything that happened. But it also explains why it’s really important for these establishments to abide by the law, because if there are disputes, security should be there to address those disputes, both inside and outside of these establishments,” Prince George’s County Executive Aisha Braveboy said.

    During Monday’s news conference, Braveboy said this shooting serves as a warning to businesses in the county that are not prioritizing public safety.

    “Having establishments open that late at night without security is a problem, and it’s a problem that will not be tolerated in Prince George’s County,” she said. “This is your notice that we will shut you down, that you must have a security plan on file with the Prince George’s County Police Department, that you must have operating cameras inside and outside of your establishments.”

    Police said they believe the men who opened fire outside Irving’s did know each other in some way, as the birthday party was invite-only.

  • Man shot in leg outside St. Paul’s Skarda Bar, police say

    Police in St. Paul, Minnesota, are investigating after a man was shot in the upper thigh late Sunday night outside of a bar.

    Officers were called to Skarda’s Bar off West Seventh Street and Armstrong Avenue West around 10:30 p.m. The victim was at the scene but the shooter had fled the area, police say.

    The victim was treated at Regions Hospital for what police call “non-life-threatening” injuries. The suspect is still at large.

    This is the capital city’s second shooting of 2026. The first occurred overnight Saturday in the city’s North End neighborhood, with the victim in that case also suffering a gunshot wound to the leg. The suspected shooter was arrested inside a nearby apartment complex.

    At around 1:30 a.m., officers responded to a shooting call on Sunset Avenue, and when they arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds. Life-saving measures were performed by first responders. 

    The man was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

    At this time, police do not have any available suspect information, as this shooting remains under investigation.

    Durham police said a man is dead and a woman is seriously injured after a shooting on Sunday.

    Officers were called to reports of a shooting on Hillsborough Road just after 9 p.m., police said a Chevy Malibu was driving west on Hillsborough Road when a second vehicle began shooting in the direction of the Malibu.

    Police said the man who was driving the Chevy Malibu then lost control of the car before coming to a stop in a nearby parking lot. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

    Police said a woman was also in the car at the time of the shooting. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

    Police have not released the names of anyone involved. No other injuries were reported.

    A teenage boy died and three men were injured in a late-night Saturday  shooting in southeast Denver, on the edge of the city’s Kennedy neighborhood, police said.

    Denver officers responded Saturday night to the shooting near South Galena Street and East Hampden Avenue, according to an 11:06 p.m. post on social media from the police department.

    A group of people had gathered in the area to celebrate the U.S. capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro when the shooting happened, a spokesperson for the Denver Police Department said.

    It’s unclear if the shooter was attending the event and, as of Sunday evening, no suspects had been publicly identified or arrested.

    When Denver officers first responded to the shooting, they found one victim, who paramedics took to the hospital with unknown injuries.

    Denver officers later learned about three additional victims, police said. Two were taken to hospitals in private vehicles, and a third — an unidentified 16-year-old boy — was dropped off near Iliff Avenue and South Havana Street, where he died.

    The teenager will be identified by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.

    Police soon learned the man had been shot by another man amid “an argument,” with the shooter fleeing into an apartment after the attack.

    Officers arrested the suspect, and the victim was taken to Regions Hospital for treatment.

    Police are still investigating.

  • Ohio police seek suspect after dentist and his wife found shot to death at home

    Police in Columbus, Ohio, are asking for the public’s help as they search for a suspect in the fatal shooting of a dentist and his wife on the city’s Near East Side.

    Officers were dispatched just after 10 a.m. on Dec. 30 for a welfare check, according to a statement from the Columbus Division of Police. When they arrived, they found two adults — identified as Spencer Tepe, 37, and Monique Tepe, 39 — both with apparent gunshot wounds. The two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

    Investigators said no weapons were found at the scene and there were no signs of forced entry. Two children, a 1-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, were found inside the home uninjured. 

    A coworker had called 911 after Spencer Tepe failed to show up for work at a dental clinic in Athens and could not be reached, CBS affiliate WBNS reported. Columbus police went to the home and knocked on the front and back doors repeatedly, but no one answered.

    Later that morning, another worried coworker called 911 from outside the home and told the dispatcher they could hear kids inside. A friend got into the house and saw Spencer’s body.

    Investigators are now seeking video, photographs or other digital evidence that may show suspicious people or vehicles in the area around the time of the shooting.

    They are particularly interested in footage from the surrounding neighborhood between midnight and 9 a.m. on Dec. 30. The area of interest is bordered by Summit Street to the east, North Grant Avenue to the west, East 7th Avenue to the south and East 11th Avenue to the north.

    Information may be provided anonymously, police said.

    In a statement released by family, loved ones described Spencer and Monique Tepe as devoted parents and partners whose lives were centered on service, family and community. 

    “We are heartbroken beyond words,” the statement said. “While no outcome can ever undo this loss, our family is committed to seeing this tragedy fully and fairly brought to justice, and to honoring Spencer and Monique by protecting the future of the children they loved so deeply.”

    A Nevada judge will hear a defense motion seeking to suppress evidence in the long-awaited murder case against Duane “Keffe D” Davis, as the only person charged in the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur faces a trial delay until August 2026

    A Nevada district court is set to hear a defense motion next month that could shape the long-awaited murder trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis, the only person ever charged in connection with the fatal shooting of hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur in 1996. Meanwhile, the trial itself has been postponed until the summer of 2026 as both sides deal with extensive evidence and pretrial legal battles.

    A motion to suppress evidence, filed by defense attorneys Robert Draskovich and William Brown, challenges the legality of the nighttime search of Davis’ Henderson, Nevada, home following his arrest in September 2023. Lawyers argue that the search warrant was improperly authorized, alleging that police misled a judge about Davis’ criminal status, potentially making key evidence inadmissible at trial. The hearing is expected next week in Las Vegas’ Clark County District Court in Nevada.

    In addition to the suppression motion, Davis’ defense team successfully persuaded a judge to delay the trial, which is now scheduled for August 10, 2026, citing the “overwhelming” amount of evidence that attorneys must review. The murder trial has now been pushed back multiple times. Defense filings had argued that more time was needed not only to examine the “voluminous discovery material” but also to interview witnesses who could contradict prosecutors’ timeline and assertions. The murder of Tupac Shakur is one of the country’s most infamous cold cases, with many witnesses now deceased as more time continues to pass.

    Davis’ counsel has also pursued other pretrial avenues, including motions to dismiss the charges entirely on constitutional grounds and appeals to the Nevada Supreme Court. They claimed Davis’ rights were violated by the nearly three-decade delay before charges were brought, and that statements he made in past interviews plus a 2019 memoir should be excluded or treated as fiction (and the fact that he entered into a proffer agreement at one point). A previous motion to dismiss was rejected, but an earlier appeal remains pending. Davis was notorious for allegedly speaking out on the death of Shakur for money and/or clout before he was finally arrested and charged.

    In a separate proceeding, Davis was sentenced in September 2025 to 16 to 40 months in prison after being convicted of a jailhouse fight with another inmate at the Clark County Detention Center. He’s expected to serve this sentence while continuing to await trial on the murder charge.

    The 1996 killing of Shakur, an iconic figure in rap music, occurred just off the Las Vegas Strip after the rapper attended a boxing match with Suge Knight (who was also injured in the shooting). Shakur was struck multiple times in the drive-by shooting and died six days later. No one had been charged in his death until the 2023 indictment of Davis, a former gang member whose public recounting of the shooting played a role in reigniting the investigation. Davis’ next court date is January 6, 2026.

    One person was shot dead near Lake Como on New Year’s Eve, officials with the Fort Worth Police Department said.

    Officers responded to reports of a man shot in the 3400 block of Lake Como Drive at around 6:12 p.m. Wednesday, according to online call records.

    When police arrived, they located the victim, who was already deceased, officials said.

    No further details were available Wednesday night.

    The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.

    SAN PABLO – A person of interest in a fatal shooting at a Richmond eatery shot himself Tuesday in the parking lot of the San Pablo Police Department, according to police and media reports.

    The Richmond and San Pablo police departments announced the development at a joint news conference late Tuesday evening.

    “Our officers heard one single gunshot from within the parking lot of the San Pablo Police Department,” San Pablo police Capt. James Laughter told reporters. “We then located a male subject lying on the ground with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

    The person was taken to an area hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, KTVU FOX 2 reported.

    The Richmond shooting happened just before 1:45 p.m. Monday at an IHOP in the 3400 block of Klose Way, where the victim and the person of interest worked together.

    Coworkers initially believed the victim was hurt in an accident, but the injuries “appeared suspicious” to firefighters, who called officers to the scene, according to the news station.

    The victim ultimately died from a gunshot wound at the scene, KTVU FOX 2 reported.

    Before the person of interest shot himself, he approached an officer at the police department, but there was a “language barrier” and he walked away, according to the news station.

    Authorities did not release any additional details about the Richmond shooting Tuesday.

    Richmond police on Tuesday said a person of interest in a homicide shot himself in the parking lot of the San Pablo Police Department.

    Police said around 1:43 p.m. Monday, workers at an IHOP on the 3400 block of Klose Way called police and told them they had found their coworker unconscious, and that he appeared to have a head injury.

    First responders at the scene provided first aid and called police when they noticed the wound did not look like it was accidental. Despite life-saving measures, the victim died at the scene.

    Police said homicide detectives were then called when their preliminary investigation revealed the injury appeared to be a gunshot wound. During a press conference Tuesday night, Lt. Donald Patchin said they weren’t sure how no one heard the gunshot and that there were customers in the IHOP at the time.

    Patchin also said that a person of interest was identified and that he is an employee at IHOP. An arrest warrant was secured, and officers began to search for the person, who is a San Pablo resident.

    Police said they later learned the person of interest had shown up at the San Pablo Police Department, where he shot himself.

    At the joint press conference, Captain James Laughter said San Pablo officers were in their department parking lot, around 5:30 p.m., answering a separate call for service when a man approached them. Laughter said the officers were unable to communicate with the man because of a language barrier, and after the brief interaction, he walked away.

    The officers then returned to answering their original call for service, and moments later, the man shot himself in the parking lot. 

    “Our officers heard one single gunshot from within the parking lot of the San Pablo Police Department. We then located the male subject lying on the ground with a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” Laughter said. “Our officers rendered medical aid, and the male subject was transported to a local hospital.”

    The man is hospitalized and in critical condition, police said.

    Because San Pablo officers were responding to a service call, their body camera was recording. Laughter said the footage was reviewed, and it was clear there was a language barrier. 

    Patchin said not only was there a language barrier, but the man may not have been speaking coherently.

    “It was kind of a rambling, unclear conversation, so even if we were able to potentially decipher what he was saying, it might not have made sense either way, is what my understanding is,” Patchin said.

    Richmond police said the person of interest is in critical condition and that they do not know if he knew he was wanted by police or if he showed up for a separate reason. 

    Patchin said he would not be identified as he remains a person of interest and has not been charged. There is also no information about a motive, police said.

    STOCKTON, Calif. —

    Two people were arrested weeks apart after a deadly shooting in Stockton earlier this month, the police department said.

    On Dec. 14, around 1:20 a.m., Stockton police responded to a shooting on South Wilson Way near East Lafayette Street.

    There, officers found a 24-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman injured, the police department said. They were taken to an area hospital, and the man later died from his injuries.

    The woman had injuries that were not life-threatening, officials said.

    On Dec. 18, Stockton police said its detectives arrested 48-year-old Swavette Wilson in connection with the homicide.

    On Tuesday, officials said detectives made another arrest in connection with the shooting. Devon Hardy, 47, was taken into custody by the San Leandro Police Department and later extradited to Stockton.

    Both Wilson and Hardy have been booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on homicide-related charges.

    Officials have not yet detailed the circumstances around the shooting.

  • Despite history of domestic violence, victim in Christmas shooting in Southfield never called 911, police say

    Police investigating the Christmas Day deaths of two people at an apartment complex say neither the victim nor her friend ever called 911, despite a history of domestic violence in the victim’s relationship.

    Southfield Police Chief Elvin V. Barren shared this update Monday, hoping that a lesson could be learned from the situation. 

    Just after 9:30 p.m. on Christmas, Southfield Police were called to the Riverstone Apartments on Shiawassee Road for reports of a shooting. Investigators said that, earlier that day, a 23-year-old woman and her 30-year-old boyfriend got into an argument.

    “They began arguing over damaged property and allegations of infidelity, where she believed that he had been unfaithful,” Barren said. “The female victim told officers that she was slapped, strangled and kicked multiple times during the assault.” 

    Instead of calling 911, the woman called her friend to help gather her boyfriend’s belongings.

    “The victim stated that she did not contact law enforcement due to the relationship she had with the suspect’s 3-year-old child, and she didn’t want the suspects arrested, which would prevent him from being with his child,” Barren said. 

    That friend brought her 20-year-old boyfriend from Madison Heights, who was carrying a 9-millimeter handgun. 

    They say the 30-year-old returned later that night, and when they wouldn’t let him inside, he kicked down the door. After another brief altercation between the couple, the 30-year-old gained possession of his AR-15 rifle.

    “Both men immediately began shooting at each other,” Barren said. “Guns will get you in more trouble than they will ever get you out of.” 

    The friend took her boyfriend to the hospital, where he later died.

    Meanwhile, the 23-year-old victim hid in a bedroom, but she could hear her boyfriend, who had been shot eight times, pleading for help.

    “She exited the nearby bedroom and walked towards the living room to check on him. She observed him hunched over the couch. She observed the assault rifle next to him. He made eye contact with her and shot three rounds at her,” Barren said.

    She walked away with only a gunshot wound to her thumb. Her boyfriend eventually succumbed to his injuries. The 3-year-old boy was in the apartment at the time. He wasn’t hurt and has since been reunited with his biological mother.

    “What I will ask the community or anyone who is the victim of domestic violence — it is the utmost importance if you are a victim of domestic violence, please call 911, after any type of assault,” Barren said.

    Police say they will not be releasing the names of everyone involved.

    An ATF investigation has been opened into the purchase of the AR-15 rifle.

  • Vancouver Police Officers On Leave After Shooting – KXL

    Vancouver police officers are now on administrative leave, while investigators look into a shooting of man during a recent domestic incident.

    VANCOUVER, OR – Three Vancouver Police Officers, two of whom were involved in the shooting of a man and one officer who witnessed the shooting, have been placed on leave during an investigation.

    On December 27, 2025, at approximately 11:55 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance with a weapon near the 13200 block of NE 46th Street in Vancouver. The initial call involved a man outside a home who had pointed a gun at a woman inside the home and had fired at least one round, according the VPD.

    The officers say once they arrived at the home, the man confronted them with a firearm. Two Vancouver Police Officers at the scene discharged their firearms, striking the male, who was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

    The Washington State Office of Independent Investigations will be investigating the shooting.   As part of the Vancouver Police Department’s Body Worn Camera Program, video captured by body-worn cameras and in-car cameras will be reviewed and released later.
