  • 15 Products Everyone Wanted to Get Their Hands on at Sephoria

15 Products Everyone Wanted to Get Their Hands on at Sephoria

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending Sephoria 2023. The event took place both virtually and in person in New York City. Over 50 brands attended, including cult-favorites like Summer Fridays, Glossier, Nars, and more. Each brand set up an experiential booth that featured things like their star products, interactive experiences, and even founder meet and greets (ahem, Patrick Ta himself was there one day).

While I was there, I got to wander the Sephoria hallways and stop by every booth I wanted. As a beauty editor, I often get to try the latest and greatest products in the beauty world, but I don’t always get a chance to see products out in the wild. One of the best parts for me was seeing which products caused a major stir at Sephoria, because that means they’re worth the hype and more. Keep reading for some of the products that people were running to get their hands on at Sephoria (and are available at Sephora)—and believe me when I say, every single one of these is incredible.

  • It’s Never Too Early To Get A Sephora Holiday Set

It’s Never Too Early To Get A Sephora Holiday Set

Okay, I’ll admit it’s way too early to be thinking about Christmas…or is it? It’s almost October already, which is crazy to even think about. Before you know it, you’ll be making your gift lists and budgeting for the ones you love.

To mitigate some of that burden, it doesn’t hurt to get your shopping done early. Which is why brands start releasing their gift sets now so you can plan accordingly. But if you’re not in the mood to start shopping for others just yet, it’s a great excuse for you to sample best-selling products from makeup and beauty brands.

I’ve found some of my favorite go-to products by purchasing these sets for myself…it’s also the perfect time to stock up on your go-to’s because most brands release value sizes of their bestsellers as well. Essentially, it’s an opportunity to replenish your makeup bag and skincare cabinet at a discount.

We all deserve a little treat here and there, which is why I plan on getting more for less. However, not every set is the same. You can get scammed by these seemingly good deals. Some brands (and I won’t name names this time) include sample sizes or minis that actually aren’t worth your money at all.

If you want the best Sephora holiday sets approved by yours truly, here’s what’s on my gift list this 2023:

Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Mini Blush 4-Piece Set

    Rare Beauty

Don’t be nervous about four mini products…the Soft Pinch Liquid Blush lasts literal years and it comes with two in the shades Wisdom and Virtue. Add the two Positive Light Liquid Luminizers in Magnetize and Transcend and you’ll never run out of blush or highlighter.

Olaplex Strong Days Ahead Hair Kit

    Olaplex

With a full-sized Olaplex shampoo and conditioner, and a mini No. 3 Hair Perfector mask, this set saves you over $20. Good for dry, damaged locks, your hair will thank you.

Sephora Favorites Holiday Makeup Must Haves

    Sephora

Sephora really upped their game with the cute makeup bag this year. Plus this set is filled with everything you need on-the-go:

-mini amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo

    -Beautyblender Makeup Sponge

-mini Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray

-Dr. Dennis Gross Extra Strength Daily Peel

-deluxe sized Fenty Beauty Hella Thicc Volumizing Mascara in Cuz I’m Black

-mini HUDA BEAUTY Baby Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder in Banana Bread

  • Beauty Starts at the Sourse: Inside the Sarah Hyland x Sourse x Sephora Launch

Beauty Starts at the Sourse: Inside the Sarah Hyland x Sourse x Sephora Launch

Before Sarah Hyland achieved global fame as Haley Dunphy in Modern Family, she was born and raised a New York teen, trying on makeup at Sephora before dance class.

As a little girl growing up in New York City, Sarah Hyland would do her makeup at Sephora before dance class. Years later, she held a celebratory launch event at the Grove in Los Angeles for her new brand, Sourse — a brilliant pink and purple affair.

We’ve all been there — aimlessly wandering around Sephora to pass the time, sampling makeup we have no intention of buying, doing a full look before going to an event or a party. Back then, Hyland didn’t even dare to dream that she’d ever launch her own beauty product in Sephoras nationwide — including her old stomping ground location in New York.

    What is Sourse?

Sourse is a brand of supplements shaking up the wellness game. According to the Sourse website, they believe that: “Supplementing should be fun for everyone. We’re here to support you in your wellness journey with delicious bites that enrich your life from the moment you eat them.”

Sarah’s journey as a co-founder of Sourse reflects the brand’s mission. Her belief in the products is the ultimate co-sign.

“Tastes like an M&M,” I tell Sarah at first bite. These chocolate vitamins truly don’t taste “healthy” at all. But in fact, vegan dark chocolate is part of the health benefits — it actually causes the supplement perform better.

Since chocolate is a pre and probiotic, your body absorbs it better than capsules. So you get all the effects in a stackable bite you actually look forward to eating.

    Where to buy Sourse

The full spectrum of Sourse products is available at trysourse.com. But you can now find their hero products online and in-store at Sephoras nationwide.

  • Saie Teaches Us That Clean Beauty Doesn’t Call For Sacrifice

Saie Teaches Us That Clean Beauty Doesn’t Call For Sacrifice

In terms of setting trends for clean beauty brands that can be both high quality and affordable, Saie leads the way. I always considered the clean beauty “Big Three” to be Kosas,
Saie, and Ilia. Because they’re consistently hailed for their luxurious formulas that won’t irritate your skin, and an overall sustainable production system down to their packaging.

Saie is powered by the community, with the motto being “you ‘Saie’ it, we create it.” They listen to what
you, the consumer, want in a product and they try their best to replicate it. In a world where celeb brands seem like desperate money grabs, this is a sigh of relief.

The comforting aspect about Saie is that they stand by “
The Feel Good Five” standards: C.L.E.A.N. This means their products are Conscious of people and the planet, Luxurious, Earth-minded, Award-winning, and New. Saie’s constantly creating fresh ways to innovate the clean beauty world without sacrificing the quality of their product.

@katiehub.org and u get more product for a better price. slay saie. #fyp#dupe#bronzingdrops♬ Elevator Music – Bohoman

I couldn’t help but trying a full face of
Saie’s makeup because I genuinely trust them… I admit that this may be tough for you if you haven’t tried the line before. However, with such high standards this brand is the real deal.

I scanned their Bestsellers List and ordered the basics to see just what they’re all about. Here’s my haul:

Overall, I was insanely impressed with Saie as a whole. All products are glowy – a trending look right now – thanks to ingredients like hyaluronic acid and licorice root. Since I’m huge on skincare, it’s fabulous that my makeup won’t clog my pores and benefits my skin while making me feel abso beautiful.

    @bellarmrz Glow sculpt slay ✨💜☁️ @Saie #saiebeauty#saieglowsculpt♬ Nimbus – BLVKSHP

While I’ll go more into detail on each product in a bit, the
Sun Melt Bronzer stood out. It’s a balm bronzer that blends more consistently than most. With ingredients like colloidal oatmeal, grapeseed oil, and elderberry extract, you’re guaranteed that it will moisturize and protect your skin.

    With
Saie’s makeup you don’t need to sacrifice anything (price, quality, etc.). Their products are affordable, aren’t tested on animals, and keep your skin top-of-mind, which is more than most luxury brands can say.

    Here’s my product review:

    Slip Tint

Definitely the best tinted moisturizer I’ve used so far. And I’ve tried everything – from Rare Beauty, to Milk, to Laura Mercier – and most make me look oily, or – even worse – patchy. The Saie Slip Tint is award-winning for a reason.

    Glowy Super Skin Foundation

Take the word serum seriously: it will come out a bit runny, but don’t be alarmed. This plus
the Base Brush create the perfect “your skin but better” look that everyone craves. If you want summer makeup, this foundation will give you the best medium-coverage look that covers dark spots and acne, but not your freckles!

    Glowy Super Gel

@thebeautyshelf Replying to @rach Do you agree?👀 the saie feels more like a serum, whereas the Rare definitely is a more intense highlight! #rarebeautymakeup#rarebeautyhighlight#saie#saiebeauty♬ Sunroof – Nicky Youre & dazy

Saie’s take on Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Filter is arguably better because it’s not as foundation-like or thick. It can be used as a primer, highlighter – or anything in between – to enhance your makeup. I love it as a primer for an added glow.
Hint: the Sunglow shade is a Drunk Elephant D’Bronzi Drops dupe.

    Dew Blush

One of Saie’s hottest items, the Dew Blush is both pigmented and glowy. I think the Chilly shade is the perfect berry, sunkissed look that will work all summer long. It’s buildable, but also easy to blend.

    HydraBeam Concealer

I adore this concealer’s formula! Plus, I’m a sucker for a doe-foot applicator. When you when you pull the applicator the bottle squeezes it out for you, so you don’t waste that precious concealer. It’s more luminescent than matte, and is fantastic for covering acne or those dark undereye bags.

    Sun Melt Bronzer

Easy to blend, perfectly pigmented, and gives me a deep chisel that other bronzers simply cannot. I used to be impartial to Makeup By Mario’s Skin Enhancer, but Saie is giving them a run for their money right now. I’m torn.

  • Beauty Editors Agree: These 8 Sunscreens Are Elite

Beauty Editors Agree: These 8 Sunscreens Are Elite

Every summer, I love spending as much time as possible soaking up the sunshine and its beneficial vitamin D. The only downside is that like clockwork, the constellation of freckles on my face and décolletage becomes even more noticeable. While I love them, I’m not necessarily looking to add more to my collection. So to prepare for this summer, I’ll be stocking up on a ton of sunscreen from Sephora. It’s pretty obvious that Sephora is the go-to store for prestige skincare and makeup, so it makes sense that it carries sunscreen that goes the extra mile to protect your skin. Trust me when I say you’ll actually want to wear the eight sunscreens below—they won’t leave a white cast, they layer flawlessly under makeup, and they even give your skin a glowy, dewy finish. You’ve got lots of options here: You can go with a tinted sunscreen for a my-skin-but-better finish, a stick if you’re on the go, a mineral formula that’s safe for sensitive skin, or a sheer formula to layer under makeup. Whichever you choose, these picks have you covered (literally). Keep reading to see the top-performing sunscreens that come recommended by the WWW beauty team.

Trust the Reviews—15 Holy-Grail Sephora Products With 1000+ 5-Star Ratings

When it comes to buying nearly anything online, I obsessively read reviews first. I always feel more reassured after reading good (and bad!) reviews before buying, so I know exactly what I’m getting before I purchase something.

If you’re in the market for new beauty products and don’t have time to comb through tons of different reviews, I did all the work for you. These are some of my favorite beauty products from Sephora that also happen to have over 1,000 five-star reviews—a major feat. Every Celebrity-Loved Beauty Product You Can Find at Sephora RN

As a beauty editor, one of the major privileges of my job is getting to talk to celebrities. Not only that, but I get to talk to stars about beauty products, which is basically a dream come true. Many celebrities have their own brands, but I live for celebrities telling me what products they actually use and love in their daily lives.

Many celeb favorites are available at none other than Sephora, which is basically my beauty product mecca. Right now, Sephora is having its annual Spring Savings Event, which means that you can find celeb-loved products at a discount. If you’re a Rouge member, the savings start today. Here’s everything you need to know to save: From April 14 to April 24, Rouge members get 20% off their purchases.

I Spent 3 Hours Shopping at Sephora—Here’s Every Product I Left With

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been a Sephora Insider for, well, forever. You probably also wait all year for the Sephora Savings Event. This year, in preparation, I spent three (yes, three) total hours shopping at Sephora to find the best products across skincare, makeup, hair, and fragrance categories. You can call it an irresponsible use of time, but I call it research. I’m a beauty editor, and seeking out the best in beauty is quite literally part of my job.

On my most recent trip to Sephora, I walked the hallowed halls and found some seriously stellar items. I’m talking about a lightweight sunscreen that neither pills nor leaves a white cast. I’m talking about a high-pigmented lip color that feels like butter on your lips. And I’m talking about a hair mask that leaves your strands bouncy and moisturized without residue. As I said, these products are stellar.

The best part? They’re on sale. Rouge members receive 20% off plus early access to the sale on April 14. VIB members receive 15% off starting April 18. Finally, Beauty Insiders receive 10% off starting April 18. Use the code SAVENOW at checkout.

This morning, I happened to be scrolling Sephora for fun (as one does). During my mindless scroll, I did a double-take—so many cult-favorite products are selling for really, really good prices right now. I’m talking half-off savings. This includes fantastic brands like Tarte, Fenty, Smashbox, Sephora Collection, Lancôme, and more.

Of course, this is no accident. From now until April 1, Sephora is offering 50 percent off select beauty products every day. Each day, the retailer is choosing a new batch of products to offer savings on—and I just so happened to look on a particularly fire day. This is all leading up to the semi-annual Sephora Savings Event, which starts on April 14 for Rouge Members and April 18 for VIBs and Insiders.

  • Out of Thousands, A Sephora Beauty Director Labels These 11 Finds “Need to Try”

Out of Thousands, A Sephora Beauty Director Labels These 11 Finds “Need to Try”

Raise your hand if you could spend an entire afternoon in Sephora and still not even make a dent in their product inventory. I know I could—I could happily browse the shelves for hours at a time and probably only make my way through a few different brands. As we all know, the retailer is basically every beauty lover’s dream—every product you could possibly want is at your fingertips.

Since it’s basically impossible to peruse every single product at Sephora, I always worry that some might be slipping through the cracks. There are brands at Sephora that I’ve never heard of and know I need to try, but I have a hard time figuring out what actually deserves my attention when there are thousands of products in front of me.

For this reason, I enlisted the help of Sephora Beauty Director Myiesha Sewell to tell me what products I absolutely need to try from Sephora right now. Since she has a bird’s eye view of practically every product in the store, she knows better than anyone what products are worth it and what aren’t. She shared her top picks across every beauty category with me, and trust me when I say that her favorites won’t disappoint. Keep reading for Sewell’s absolute ride-or-die beauty products from Sephora.

  • Psst: Sephora Sells a Ridiculous Number of These 18 Products—Here’s the Reveal

Psst: Sephora Sells a Ridiculous Number of These 18 Products—Here’s the Reveal

Do you know how that psychological principle states that the more options you’re presented with, the less happy you are with the outcome you choose? That’s how I sometimes feel when I shop at big beauty retailers like Sephora. If I’m stuck between three different lipsticks, let’s say, then I find myself contemplating my choice long after my card has been charged. Did I choose the right one? Should I go back and exchange it? Should I even be looking at lipsticks? Maybe I need a tinted lip balm instead… and so on. Basically, it’s hard to feel confident with your choice when there’s such a wealth of other options up for grabs.

Whenever I feel like this, I do one of two things: First, I consider going back to basics, shopping for products I already know and love. Second, I narrow my selection to only the best-selling products. This way, I can be more confident I bought the right product because it’s backed by so many other people too. It’s like getting a recommendation from a friend; it carries some weight.

So, in the spirit of making everyone’s shopping just a little bit easier, I gathered a selection of the best-selling products at Sephora. These products range across all three major categories—skincare, makeup, and hair care. Without further ado, keep scrolling to see (and shop) them all.

Glossier Is About to Enter an Entirely New Product Category

Glossier is officially expanding beyond its beauty offerings of skin-care, color cosmetics, body care and fragrance and entering a new, perhaps unexpected, category: deodorant

The beauty brand, which is set to enter into its first major retail partnership with Sephora in the coming months, is introducing The Glossier Deodorant, a vegan, cruelty-free, non-comedogenic formula on Jan. 17. Described in a brand press release as a “smooth-glide, odor defense deodorant stick” made with “sensitive pits in mind,” the refillable solid is aluminum-, baking soda-, acid- and water-free. It instead relies on elderberry extract, coconut oil and, interestingly enough, potato starch (a natural moisture-absorbing ingredient).

  • Dull Eye Pencils Are the Worst—We Found the Best Sharpeners With Rave Reviews

Dull Eye Pencils Are the Worst—We Found the Best Sharpeners With Rave Reviews

We’re pretty eyeliner obsessed—from the best waterproof liners to drugstore pencils, no liner goes underappreciated around here. But even the best pencils eventually go dull. And anyone who has ever ruined one of their favorites knows that when it comes to eye pencil sharpeners, there is definitely a class above the rest. Not only will a great sharpener keep your pencil pointy and precise, but it also reveals a fresh layer of product, which can help reduce the spread of bacteria.

According to celebrity makeup artist Allie Renee, a great eye pencil sharpener is an unsung hero in your tool kit. “Cosmetic pencil sharpeners are the most sanitary and efficient way to keep your products performing at their best,” she says.

So what separates the good sharpeners from the great ones? I’m glad you asked. “Because pencils come in many shapes and sizes, I like to have a sharpener with two size options,” Renee says. “A sharp blade is a must, too! I also look for something with a housing that can be removed or opened so I can clean it.”

Better yet, even prestige sharpeners tend to be fairly inexpensive. You only have to spend a few dollars for a tool that will last years and that will keep your eye, lip, and brow pencils in fighting form.

Simply put, says the makeup pro, “It’s a must-have in your beauty collection, even if you rarely ever think about it.” If you’re in need of an upgrade, keep scrolling for 10 of the very best eye pencil sharpeners, plus pencils to pair them with.

  • So You Want the Best Hair of Your Life? It Starts With this Undervalued Step

So You Want the Best Hair of Your Life? It Starts With this Undervalued Step

Great hair is on pretty much everyone’s wish list, but it wouldn’t surprise me if a great scalp didn’t quite make it onto the vision board. (I get it—the pics just aren’t as #aesthetic.) But TBH, it should, and from where I stand, your scalp deserves just as much attention as both our skincare and haircare routines.

“The reality is that healthy hair begins at the scalp, which is why having a weekly scalp exfoliation as part of your hair routine is so crucial,” says Babba Rivera, founder and CEO of Ceremonia. And many haircare brands, including Ceremonia, are formulating products specifically with the scalp in mind. From shampoos that address scalp dryness to scalp treatments that aim to boost hair growth, the area is no longer an afterthought.

Scalp exfoliation products in particular are having a long-awaited moment. And with good reason—they can help with everything from hair thinning to flaking. “There are many benefits of exfoliating the scalp that all contribute to the overall health of your hair and scalp,” says Jeannette Graf, MD, a dermatologist and assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.

Ahead, I’m breaking down just what those benefits are with the help of Rivera and Graf, as well as Gulf Coast–based dermatologist and Neutrogena healthy scalp ambassador Lindsey Zubritsky, MD, FAAD. Plus, find out how often to exfoliate for optimum results and exactly how to do it.
