That’s what I feel bad about. And do you know what is worse? They bring in a third party, someone who is not connected to my past, to create headlines out of that. Shaakuntalam 1st Weekend Worldwide Box Office: Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s film collects a dismal Rs 10 crores

Shaakuntalam starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan, and directed by Gunasekhar had a dismal weekend at the box office with worldwide gross collections of Rs 10 crores after 3 days. The opening of the film was already very low at around Rs 5 crores gross and going by the weekend trajectory, the film may not even be able to gross Rs 15 crores in its full run. The film is based on a popular play Abhignyana Shakuntalam and contrary to the success of the play, the movie will end up as a huge disaster, resulting in losses for almost every stakeholder.

The three day India gross collections of Shaakuntalam stand at Rs 6.84 crores and the collections internationally are around Rs 3.17 crores, giving it a 3 day cume of Rs 10.01 crores worldwide. The break down for the India-wide and worldwide collections are as under.

Samantha, on the other hand, is getting all geared up for her upcoming period film “Shakunthalam” which will be released in theatres soon.

Shaakuntalam release date!
