  • No Holds Barred Barbie: Nicki Minaj Takes Aim At Keyshia Ka’oir In Latest Online Rant, Says She Keeps Husband Gucci Mane ‘Sedated’

    [ad_1]

Nicki Minaj just unlocked a new target in her latest edition of online rants.

Source: Kevin Mazur / Prince Williams

The “Roman’s Revenge” rapper has been frequenting X in recent weeks, which seemingly started in the midst of her nemesis Cardi B’s album rollout. Now, she’s slamming another woman in the industry, taking aim at Gucci Mane’s wife, Keyshia Ka’oir, following their joint interview about the rapper’s mental health.

The married couple appeared on The Breakfast Club this week, where Keyshia opened up about helping to manage Gucci’s episodes while dealing with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. The rapper also spoke on apologizing to other rappers, including Nicki, after getting out of jail, insisting his mental health was the reason he burned so many bridges back in the day.

Despite the couple bravely opening up about Gucci’s mental health, Minaj took this opportunity to take aim at Ka’oir, claiming the model and entrepreneur is trying to be her.

“Gucci wife has been trying to be me for years,” Nicki wrote on X. “Been dying for the spotlight for years. She’s there to keep Gucci sedated. Gucci hates Debra Antney. They don’t want Deb around me. She’s around me now.”

She continued, “Charlamane the fraud (Jay-z friend & business associate) using iHeartRadio for these disgusting ploys against innocent families. He was around Wendy b4 her life went to hell. The buck stops here baby. Bookmark this tweet.”

Nicki went on to issue a warning to anyone who may be considering going against her, writing: “Yall really do not understand who I really am. Bring it 🙂 Let’s play. Yall wanted attention? Let’s do it. LAPD, where’s the evidence of my home being swatted with a toddler inside 4 times? Guns drawn. Republic Records, stand up for me. Any f***ing day now. You’ll regret it.”

She continued: “Sorry to all the aspiring artists/young superstars in the making. Yall not on the radio being interviewed b/c the agenda needs to be pushed first. if you can’t see what’s happening may you be forever cursed. You’re already blind. Now you’re cursed, too.”

Minaj’s latest rant comes after Keyshia explained on The Breakfast Club how she helps Gucci Mane when he suffers from a schizophrenic episode.

“I have a system,” she began. “I take his apps off his phone. First thing I do is delete Instagram. I delete everything. Even if I gotta change his password, I’m changing it because I don’t need the public to know he’s having an episode. You realize you haven’t known about any other episodes since September 13. That’s because I control that. Because, you’re not going on Instagram, you’re not going on Twitter. It’s deleted. I control everything at home. And now, before the episodes come, I catch it. So, that’s why he hasn’t had another one.”

The rapper also spoke on his 2013 rant aimed at different rappers, during which he called out Drake, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, and more. On The Breakfast Club, he recalled feeling so “embarrassed” about the outburst, explaining that he was going through a mental health episode when it happened.

“I was super embarrassed and hurt by the things I said because I wasn’t well then, right? So, then, I got locked up. So, a lot of those people who I was saying stuff to, I was like, ‘They ain’t never gonna mess with me no more,’” Gucci explained. “So even when I got out three years later…I apologized to [Rick] Ross, Drake, Nicki [Minaj], like all of them people that accepted my apologies, they don’t know it’s like a weight off my shoulders.”

  • Cardi Calls Out Trump Administration For SNAP Delays: ‘Mind You, Thanksgiving Is Next Month!’

    [ad_1]

    Source: Amy Sussman / Getty

Cardi B took to X Spaces on Oct. 18 to call out Donald Trump and his administration as the federal government shutdown continues. With funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as the food stamp program, expected to run out in two weeks, the rapper issued a warning about the devastating impact the situation could have on millions of Americans, especially with Thanksgiving around the corner.

“People are complaining that they have taken away food stamps. Mind you, Thanksgiving is next month,” Cardi B said of SNAP, which provides monthly benefits to help Americans in need buy groceries.

“No turkey for some of y’all, very interesting. And I find this so funny, because these are the type of things that I was trying to warn y’all that’s gonna happen in the Trump administration. But y’all didn’t care. All y’all cared about is that I called them ‘Shrunk,’” the rapper continued, referencing ridicule she received for calling Trump a name during her 2024 Kamala Harris rally speech in Milwaukee.

According to CNN, roughly 42 million people could face critical food assistance delays in November if the government shutdown continues. It’s unclear whether the Trump administration will step in to fund SNAP as it has with other priorities.

The program is projected to run out of money in two weeks, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins told reporters at the White House on Thursday, according to CNN. She also posted about the impending challenges on X, blaming Democrats for “putting free healthcare for illegal aliens and their political agenda ahead of food security for American families.”

The funding crisis is already forcing 17 states to stop accepting new SNAP applications, since their systems would otherwise require combining partial October payments with November’s benefits. Other states, which can separate the two months, are continuing to provide October assistance to new enrollees.

Despite her wealth, Cardi B noted that the rising cost of living—driven in part by Trump’s tariffs—has hit her hard as well.

“The taxes of living have become high for every goddamn thing; everything has become high,” she added. As an example, Cardi pointed to the steep costs she faces when buying imported goods. She explained that when she orders a piece of custom furniture from Italy, Trump-imposed tariffs add an extra $15,000 to the bill.

“Everything been rising up, from the prices of f–king Fashion Nova and Shein to Chanel and all that s–t because the tariffs are so f–king expensive!”

SNAP could face further cuts even after the shutdown ends.

Even after the shutdown is resolved, SNAP faces additional threats to its funding because of Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” passed in July. The massive tax and spending measure, signed into law on July 4, is expected to drastically reduce the program’s budget. The bill will slash about $186 billion from SNAP through 2034, according to estimates from the Congressional Budget Office. Experts warn that these cuts and cost shifts to states will leave millions of Americans without some or all of the assistance they need to afford food.

“For decades, SNAP has been there for low-income families, and as a result, we have largely eliminated severe hunger and malnutrition in this country,” Katie Bergh, senior policy analyst at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, told CNBC’s Make It in August. “But that’s not a guarantee without the support that this program provides to help low-income families afford groceries,” Bergh added.

  • Brandy Reveals She Nearly Fainted Mid-Performance, Shutting Down Her Concert With Monica Early

    [ad_1]

Brandy is speaking out about the medical emergency that caused her to rush off the stage mid-song and abruptly end her concert with Monica on The Boy Is Mine Tour.

    Source: Prince Williams / Getty

On Saturday, Oct. 18, Monica and Brandy took the stage in Chicago for the third stop on the road together. As BOSSIP previously reported, in the middle of performing “Baby,” Brandy rushed off the stage with no explanation and never returned. After a day of speculation, confusion about the incomplete show, and prayers for the disappeared diva, Brandy broke her silence.

The “Almost Doesn’t Count” star took to Instagram on Sunday to reveal what happened in the incident that nearly caused her to collapse onstage. She posted a statement to her fans on Stories and thanked them for “he overwhelming love, support, and — most importantly — your prayers.”

“I sincerely apologize for the abrupt end to last night’s performance in Chicago. After weeks of nonstop rehearsals, last night I experienced dehydration and feelings of wanting to faint. Everyone involved agreed that prioritizing my well-being was of the utmost importance,” she shared about trying to push through for the fans.

“I still made the decision to try and return and give it my all despite not feeling okay. With having to make some adjustments and the show being very technical, unfortunately, it was impossible to fully connect sonically with the production. I really appreciate everyone’s best efforts,” she continued.

About 30 minutes later, Monica abruptly closed out the concert alone. The “U Should’ve Known Better” beauty made an emotional speech about the honor of sharing the stage with Brandy. She completed a set of her solo hits, but the goodbye left fans wondering and wanting the Grammy-winning duet that inspired the name of the tour.

Brandy’s statement thanked her sister in song for holding down the show, which was 27 years in the making, while she sought medical treatment.

“I’m deeply grateful to my sister, Monica, for stepping up with such grace and professionalism, and to the entire crew for their continued care and support. I went from the arena to see a doctor nearby and have taken the proper precautions to help moving forward.

“Your understanding, patience, and unwavering belief mean the world to me. I look forward to returning to the stage — stronger and more grateful than ever — alongside my girl, Monica, tonight in Indianapolis,” the Cinderella stunner concluded.

Brandy’s explanation comes as a huge relief to supporters who knew the dedicated takes pride in showing up and showing out as a polished professional. It would take something serious before the “vocal Bible” missed a beat or a note. It sounds like our fave was working a little too hard. Fortunately, she will return to the stage for the next show in Indianapolis.

  • Lewks Served: Viola Davis, Zoe Kravitz, Colman Domingo, Kim K & Others Showed Out At The Academy Museum Gala

    [ad_1]

    Source: Gilbert Flores/Monica Schipper/Amy Sussman/VALERIE MACON

The Academy Museum Gala always brings the A-listers to the carpet, and this year’s function was no different, with big names like Viola Davis, Kim Kardashian, Zoe Kravitz, and Quinta Brunson making appearances.

Kim Kardashian popped up, taking a page from her ex-husband’s book, with her face completely covered in a head-to-toe Maison Margiela couture look.

Academy Award winner Viola Davis shut the carpet down in a Gucci number featuring feathers and velvet.

The ever-stylish duo of Dwyane and Gabrielle Union Wade gave the people all Black numbers. Gabby donned a vintage Herve Leger curve-hugging dress for the occasion.

FX’s The Bear breakout star, Ayo Edebiri, opted for Chanel, taking a look straight from the runway. Her updo and simple jewelry really sold this unconventional moment. The actress has started to become one of the true fashion dolls of the season.

Ava DuVernay went all out in Louis Vuitton for an elegant but show-stopping moment. DuVernay is the first and only Black woman to have been nominated for a Best Director award in the Academy’s history.

Zoe Kravitz always knows how to deliver a memorable fashion appearance. The petite beauty opted for a chocolate Saint Laurent number with dramatic bell sleeves and a train. Cute!

Everyone knows that Tessa Thompson never leaves a carpet without making a statement. Her yellow Balenciaga dress was definitely a conversation starter. She may be the only person who could truly pull off this look.

Among the men who turned heads at the Gala was, of course, Colman Domingo. The newly minted Valentino Beauty ambassador shut down the carpet in a number that speaks to his courage to be bold, dazzling, and jaw-dropping on the carpet. 10/10! No notes. As always.

Quinta Brunson brought an easy, breezy lilac look to the carpet, opting for a classy décolletage set off with gold hoop earrings. Simple but so chic.

  • New Georgia Project Voting Rights Group Founded By Stacey Abrams Officially Dissolves

    [ad_1]

Two of the state’s most influential voter engagement organizations, the New Georgia Project (NGP) and its affiliate, the New Georgia Project Action Fund, are officially dissolving. Founded in 2013 by Stacey Abrams, the nonprofit quickly became a force in expanding voter access across the state, especially among Black voters and other marginalized communities often overlooked in mainstream civic outreach.

    Source: John Lamparski / Getty

Abrams’ vision for the organization began long before her runs for governor in 2018 and 2022. The NGP’s mission centered on building a more inclusive democracy, ensuring every Georgian, regardless of race, income, or zip code had a voice at the ballot box. The group’s impact reached national recognition, especially following the 2020 election cycle when Georgia flipped blue for the first time in nearly three decades.

    The Rise and the Rift

According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the New Georgia Project was known for its widespread voter registration drives and community mobilization efforts. The organization helped register hundreds of thousands of new voters, focusing on communities of color, young people, and first-time voters. Abrams’ founding vision was praised for reshaping Georgia’s political landscape and shifting the balance of power through civic engagement rather than partisan politics.

However, in recent years, that momentum has been overshadowed by controversy. According to the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission, the organization was fined $300,000 for violating state campaign finance laws. The fine added to growing questions about how the nonprofit handled its finances and political activity, scrutiny that, according to the report, played a role in the organization’s declining stability.

    A Quiet Closure

FOX 5 notes that in a statement released this week, the New Georgia Project and its Action Fund announced they will dissolve as organizations. While the statement confirmed the shutdown, it did not offer details on why the decision was made or what will happen to the group’s staff, programs, or remaining funds. The Associated Press reported that no additional explanation has been provided about the dissolution or the future of any ongoing voter initiatives.

For many Georgians, especially those who saw the New Georgia Project as a symbol of civic power and representation, the news feels like a gut punch. The organization stood as one of the few large-scale, Black-founded and woman-led movements dedicated solely to political participation and social equity in the South.

    Legacy and Lessons

Despite its challenges, the New Georgia Project’s legacy is undeniable. The group helped mobilize thousands of voters, broke barriers in civic education, and inspired a generation of grassroots leaders to get politically active. Stacey Abrams’ broader movement, from Fair Fight to her continued advocacy for voting rights, remains deeply woven into the fabric of modern Georgia politics.

Still, this closure raises important questions about the sustainability of political nonprofits, especially those born from social movements rather than corporate funding. Transparency, accountability, and community trust remain at the core of any organization working in the name of democracy.

The New Georgia Project may be dissolving, but its impact will continue to shape how Georgia shows up to the polls and how future organizers build their blueprints for change.

  • Cam Newton, Ashley Nicole Moss, T.I., Claressa Shields & More Attend The 106 & Sports Watch Party In Atlanta

    [ad_1]

    Source: Derek White / Getty

When BET announced its bold new series 106 & Sports, it signaled both a revival and a reinvention. Drawing inspiration from the beloved 106 & Park franchise, the show reframes the familiar countdown format through the lens of sports, culture, fashion, and real talk. Rather than focusing exclusively on music videos, 106 & Sports spotlights the week’s top athletic moments, viral plays, locker room highlights, and trending storylines while weaving in commentary, athlete interviews, and cultural context. The result is a hybrid talk show and countdown, tailored for viewers who see sports as inseparable from identity, style, and community.

The show’s origins trace back to BET’s desire to expand beyond music and entertainment coverage, repositioning itself as a cultural platform that bridges sport and lifestyle. The debut was officially unveiled during the 25th anniversary celebration of 106 & Park at the BET Awards when Cam Newton and Ashley Nicole Moss stepped into the spotlight as co-hosts. The production is a collaboration between BET Media Group and SpringHill (LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s studio), and is backed by an executive producer room that includes LeBron, Carter, Jamal Henderson, and BET’s leadership. Filmed in front of a live audience in Atlanta, each episode promises an interactive energy complete with a resident DJ, rotating celebrity guests, audience debates, style breakdowns, and a climactic “Main Event” pick for the week’s top story.

Leading the show are Cam Newton, the exuberant former NFL MVP turned media personality, and Ashley Nicole Moss, a rising sports broadcaster and commentator. Newton is no stranger to blending athletic insight with personality. He has leveraged his post-NFL career into digital media, podcasting, and on-air commentary, bringing that experience to BET’s cultural arena. Moss brings journalistic clout, having worked on CBS sports coverage and podcasting projects. In this space, she positions herself as a vibrant voice bridging media and athletic storytelling. Together, they aim to spark debate, celebrate diverse perspectives, and connect with fans who demand more than box scores. As Cam has said, “It’s about the culture around the game…players, personality, and the fans.”

To celebrate the premiere, BET hosted an exclusive watch party in Atlanta at Illuminarium, an immersive entertainment space renowned for its state-of-the-art cinematic projections and experiential ambiance. Guests walked into a sensory environment where visuals and sound wrapped around the viewing experience, making the debut feel more like an event than a mere screening. The guest list was star-studded, with attendees including Claressa Shields, T.I., K. Michelle, Toya Johnson, Reginae Carter, K Camp, Meghan James, and more. Bow Wow served as moderator to a fireside conversation with Newton and Moss. Attendees mingled, sipped cocktails, sampled gourmet bites, and enjoyed swag bags and immersive visuals tied to the show’s themes. In some corners, fashion-driven “locker room fits” were celebrated, and fans had opportunities for surprise interactions and photo-ops with hosts and guests. The vibe was electric, matching the energy 106 & Sports hopes to bring to its weekly episodes.

The launch party did more than celebrate a new series; it marked a true cultural moment. From the immersive setup to the celebrity guests and stylish decor, every detail highlighted the deep connection between sports and culture. The night had a buzzing vibe that perfectly matched the show’s energy. Below, check out some photos from the Atlanta watch party.

  • Preemies often miss out on the help they need

    [ad_1]

Every year, tens of thousands of infants are born prematurely, at a low birthweight, or with other conditions that would make them automatically eligible for therapeutic services that could help them thrive.

When everything goes smoothly, early intervention provides those services, required by federal law for children ages birth to 3. Funding sources for the program can vary, but it’s often paid for by a mix of federal, state, local, and private insurance dollars.

But far too few of the youngest children actually receive that help. (It’s an issue I wrote about earlier this year.) One particular gap is in services provided to infants from birth to 1. Only about 1.3 percent of babies that age receive early intervention services, compared to 7.5 percent of 2- to 3-year-olds, according to a new report from the think tank New America.

Kayla Khan, a long-time speech therapist, has experienced that gap herself.

When her infant daughter was released after a month and a half in neonatal intensive care, she asked the discharge team about early intervention services. Because of her background, she knew about the therapies.

At the time, the family lived in the Washington D.C. area, and no one at the hospital was helpful. “They said, ‘You don’t want that,’ or, ‘It’s not going to help you,’” Khan recalled.

After moving to Seattle a few months later, Khan finally connected with early intervention services that provided physical and feeding therapy to her daughter. She now helps lead a decade-old effort in Seattle to provide care and support specifically to families of “tiny babies” who are transitioning from the hospital to home.

The program relies on building trust and communication with hospital staff to ensure eligible babies get referred to early intervention and speeding up the evaluation timeline so babies get seen within three days of a referral — “really, really, really fast” for a system where the requirement for referral is 45 days, Khan said. Her program also connects families with therapists who are skilled and trained in the specific needs of newborns.

“We’re making this process that was designed for all children, birth to 3, work for the tiniest babies,” Khan said.

This kind of targeted attention for the youngest is desperately needed, according to the New America report and another that focused on Illinois, from early nonprofit advocacy group Start Early. (I recently completed a reporting fellowship with New America which supported some of my writing on early intervention, among other topics.)

    Among the two reports’ recommendations:

Make the list of conditions that automatically qualify a baby for early intervention easy to understand and find. States have identified scores of different qualifying conditions that make a child more likely to develop a delay, including extreme prematurity, low birthweight, a parent with a substance use disorder, and child welfare involvement. But, as the New America report points out, finding a user-friendly list of the conditions can be a challenge. “The eligibility criteria and the way things work varies so much from one state to the next,” said report co-author Carrie Gillispie, the Early Development & Disability project director at New America.

The Start Early report noted that in a related study, two families were judged ineligible for early intervention despite their children having medical conditions that should have made them automatically eligible.

Consider co-locating early intervention staff in the NICU to make the transition as smooth as possible. Coordinators would be physically present in NICUs to build relationships, participate in medical rounds, and lead the process to enroll children in early intervention programs, the Start Early authors wrote. Both reports stress the importance of providing the family with a personal connection to early intervention before a baby gets discharged from the hospital.

Improve coordination and communication with the early intervention system, hospitals and pediatricians. Pediatricians are not always notified when doctors in the hospital refer a child to early intervention services. And well-child visits are often so short that physicians miss the full developmental picture. Too often, referrals come after a child is already starting to struggle, said Sarah Gilliland, a senior policy analyst in the New Practice Lab at New America, who co-wrote the report.

Bridge cultural and language barriers with families by hiring more multilingual hospital and early intervention staff. Cultural divides are pervasive throughout the early intervention system, where the overwhelming majority of the therapists and other providers in many communities are white, English-speaking women. But even simple forms often go untranslated: One survey found that nearly three-quarters of state early intervention referral forms are only available in English, the New America report noted. The  report also stressed that families should be reassured that early intervention services are meant to be support, not surveillance. “Hesitant families might benefit from a connection with families within their own communities who can explain what to expect from early intervention,” the authors wrote.

Strengthen electronic referral systems and centralize enrollment in early intervention programs. When I reported on the too-often broken path from the NICU to early intervention in Chicago, I heard stories of a system that relied heavily on faxing paper forms. NICU physicians often had no idea what happened with referrals they made. Indeed, surveys have found that only a fraction of early intervention coordinators have access to technology that links children’s electronic health records to the referral system.

Some states and communities are introducing technological advances which could be implemented more widely, the New America report noted. For instance, one state is trying to address the problem using “e-referrals,” which share an infant’s medical records directly with the early intervention system.

There’s a cycle I see people get caught in all the time – and it makes staying on track with workouts and nutrition super difficult.

Here’s how one of my clients, Josh, put it:

“Things get super challenging (work/home/etc.) > less time > don’t get self care (time alone, workouts, etc.) > lower mood > makes things even more challenging > makes self care even less likely to happen > even lower mood > and so on.”

    I know I can relate! 🙋‍♂️

Here’s the thing, often, people in these situations say: “I just need more motivation”, when what they need is more bandwidth.

That’s where something we call the Nourishment Menu comes in.

    What’s a Nourishment Menu?

A Nourishment Menu is a list of things that help you feel restored – even just a little bit – physically, mentally or emotionally.

Think of activities like: reading, listening to music, taking a walk outside, talking to a friend, decluttering your desk, preparing a meal, stretching, etc.

The goal is to pick one action item off of the menu each day to put a little bit of energy back in your battery.

When you’re stressed out and feeling drained, proactively practicing self-care helps build a bit of momentum, consistency and mental space.

I’ve seen it make a HUGE difference for the people I coach through the different challenging periods in life: becoming new parents, job transitions, relationship stress, you name it.

We clear the calendar for a few weeks and focus ONLY on completing a self-care item each day. They look at their menu and pick the one that works for them that day.

Then, as soon as they have their feet under them, we’re able to build more specific fitness routines that they can actually stick to without feeling like they’re drowning.

Obviously, a Nourishment Menu doesn’t immediately fix everything – but it does give you a bit of breathing room.

And without that bandwidth, it’s like you’re trying to build a house (your fitness habits) when the foundation is on fire.

Four mistakes people make with self-care

While you’re building your own Nourishment Menu, make sure to watch out for these common mistakes I see people make.

    1) Having too narrow of a list. I think this graphic says it perfectly:

Consistency is dependent on flexibility. Having more options at your disposal is a good thing!

    2) Relying on “once-in-a-while” tactics.

For example, a massage feels wonderful, but since it’s not something you have access to regularly, it serves as an awesome bonus rather than a main menu item.

    3) Confusing self-care with letting yourself off the hook

Self care is NOT about letting yourself off the hook. It’s about taking care of yourself so you can stay in the game.

Sure, sometimes the right answer is to Netflix and chill.

But more often than not, self-care LOOKS like doing the hard thing: going to bed early, squeezing in that short workout, etc.

    4) Discounting self care as too “woo woo”

If you’re struggling to take the idea of self-care seriously, try thinking of it as system maintenance instead. 🤖

    I choose you, Pikachu!

The new Pokemon game (Pokemon Legends: Z to A) launches today. As a huge Pokemon fan myself, it just so happens that one of my favorite variations of the nourishment menu fits right in! My client Liz came up with the idea to theme her list after her favorite Pokemon. It made it feel fun, approachable, and a little less serious (which can be helpful when things are stressful!) For example, Snorlax represents getting more sleep, Leafeon is time outdoors, Machamp is lifting weights, etc. How cool is that? 😃

Click through to see some more examples!

Now I’d like to hear from you!

    • What are ways you can proactively practice self-care (system maintenance) this week?
    • What items are on your personal Nourishment Menu?

    You’ve got this! 💪

  • Real Life Angel: Baller Babe Angel Reese Makes Her Catwalk Debut At The 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Stunner’s Gorgeous Gams Garner Rave Reviews

    [ad_1]

Whether she’s on the court or on the catwalk, Angel Reese is always the star of the show.

    Source: ANGELA WEISS / Getty

The Chicago Sky star made her way down the runway for the very first time on Wednesday, October 15, wearing two all-pink ensembles as she got her Victoria’s Secret Angel wings.

For her first look, Reese walked like a pro in a coordinating white bra, garter, and panties set, completely embellished with pink flowers. She also had a pink shawl draped over her arms, which was covered in even more flowers to complete the look.

For her second ensemble, the WNBA star rocked a simpler set, making her bombshell silver-and-white wings the star of the show.

She wore a pink tee with a cheeky cut-out around her chest and a slit above her waist. The slits unveiled a matching pink bra and underwear, completing the look with strappy silver sandals and an undeniable mug.

A week before stepping on the iconic stage, Reese opened up about her feelings leading up to the big moment, telling PEOPLE: “I’m ready to swap my Angel Reese 1s for heels on Wednesday night!”

She also recalled her reaction to when she first got the news that she would be a Victoria’s Secret Angel, admitting, “I literally could not stop smiling!”

“It’s such a surreal and full-circle moment — just last year I was in the audience manifesting being on that runway, completely inspired and in awe of all the powerful women walking down the runway, and now I get to return as an Angel,” she continued. “This will be an unforgettable night that I’ll forever be grateful for.”

Reese went on to say that she was “so proud and excited” to become the first professional athlete to participate in the show.

Another star who made their debut at last night’s show was Missy Elliott, who took to the runway to perform a medley of her songs, including the smash hit, “Work It.” She rocked an all-black, sparkly look for the occasion, contrasting all of the pink and white on the catwalk.

Law Roach and Jodie Turner-Smith were also in attendance, sitting front row to watch Missy’s performance. The actress looked absolutely stunning in an ethereal white ensemble and clean girl glam, all tied up in a bow with a slick-back ponytail.

The first model to take the runway was pregnant Jasmine Tookes, who looked absolutely ethereal in a netted dress and Victoria’s Secret’s wings made to look like a seashell.

The star, who is pregnant with her second child, a boy, with her husband, Juan David Borrero, showed off all her curves while strutting down the runway, making her growing baby bump the star of the show.

Former WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick has been embracing other opportunities since her departure from the Chicago Sky, walking the red carpet wearing vintage Mugler. The baller was there to show her support for fellow athletes Suni Lee and, of course, her former teammate Angel Reese.

Another beauty who walked the iconic stage was model Anok Yai, who likened her preparation for the show to how an athlete trains.

“I’ve been getting my ass handed to me seven days a week by my trainer,” she said in an Oct. 14 Instagram post. “I’m getting my back muscles ready for the wings. I’m passing my walk, and my ass is going to be nice and round.”

Each level of the studio serves a specific purpose: The upper mezzanine level hosts the main desk where the pregame show will originate, offering a similar vantage point to what viewers might see from broadcast booths at NBA arenas. Taylor Rooks is set to host for NBA on Prime, in addition to studio analysts like Dirk Nowitzki, Blake Griffin, Steve Nash, and Udonis Haslem, who were all in attendance at the unveiling.

The basketball court isn’t just for show, providing a space where analysts can actually demonstrate plays and concepts. Haslem did just that during the very-first demonstration on Wednesday night, enlisting the help of the ballers in attendance to show some of what the studio is capable of.

  • ‘Me And Coach Are Good’: Nia Long Opens Up About Having ‘Respect’ For Her Ex-Partner Ime Udoka Despite Public Breakup

    [ad_1]

    Source: Stephanie Augello / Getty

Nia Long is moving on and setting the record straight about where she stands with her ex-partner Ime Udoka, three years after their public split.

Fresh off of reminding us all that the secret to her glowing beauty is “minding my business,” Long opened up about Udoka—with whom she shares son Kez, 13—and it seems to be mostly all good between the two of them.

“I don’t talk much about my personal life ’cause it’s no one’s business, but every now and then people speculate things on social media and it’s like me and Coach are good,” she told The Cut. “I hope he wins. He deserves to win.”

    She continued,

“It was really beautiful because we’ve had a very public journey that has found its way to peace and understanding. And there’s a lot of mutual respect that we have for each other. The most important gift you can give your kids is to heal your trauma.”

    Amen to that!

Long is preparing to drop her memoir, but it seems she’s letting people know that if they’re expecting mess, this won’t be the book for them.

“I’m not going to carry burdensome energy with me because that just transfers to my children and it transfers to everything else in my life. I’m proud of myself,” she said. “I think we’re proud of each other as the parents of Kez, that we’re able to make this an annual thing and commit to these last sweet years of him being in grade school and high school before he goes off to college.”

In the interview, she also discusses her take on motherhood.

“I talk about my kids a lot because they take up so much space in my life and in my heart,” she said. “Everything I do is for them. I’m not a perfect mother. I’ve made many mistakes, [and] my kids have seen me go through it. But that’s the type of mother I am, if I’m pissed, everyone knows. If I’m happy, everyone knows. Protect the innocence of your children, but allow them to see the truth in every situation.”

Ms. Long is also stepping into a new era as the first brand ambassador for Estée Lauder’s North American company. She announced the news via a post displaying her signature beauty with the caption,

“OMG pinch me! I’ve always admired Mrs. Estée Lauder’s belief that self-care isn’t reserved for special occasions—it’s an act of self-love. Her spirit as an entrepreneur, mother, and leader is something I deeply respect and connect with.”

And in her usual OG fashion, she left the girlies with a word of advice for how to manage their womanhood in their 30s and 40s.

“I don’t think there’s ever been a time in my life where I was willing to give up my life to be someone’s wife or girlfriend,” she said. “Ever. Period. I just wanna inspire women to trust the path, identify your purpose, understand the importance of sitting with yourself.”

    Yes, Nia!

Alcorn State University – 2 Wounded, 1 Dead

Around 7 p.m. Saturday, Alcorn State University issued an active shooter alert as students, staff, alumni, and the community gathered for the annual festivities. “A shooting has been reported on campus. If you are on campus, seek shelter immediately. Do not leave your secure location until given an all clear by Campus Police,” the warning stated.

WBLT reports gunshots began around 6:30 p.m. near the Industrial Technology Building on campus. Two victims at the scene sustained injuries. A woman identified as 29-year-old Brekyra Fisher was fatally shot.

Police have not yet arrested any suspects. Alcorn State University Police Chief Doug Stewart turned over the case to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.

Jackson State University – 1 Child Wounded

During Jackson State University’s homecoming Saturday night, gunshots rang out near a tailgate section at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium. WJTV reports a child sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Jackson police officers rushed the young victim to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment.

Interim Jackson Police Chief and Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones confirmed that Capitol police and Jackson police are investigating the shooting, which has no suspects at this time.

Chaos at the stadium continued in the parking lot, where a fire broke out the same night. At least four cars sustained damage from the blaze. Division Fire Chief Charles Felton told WJTV that witnesses said the fire began with one car and spread to multiple others.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. Fortunately, the incident did not result in any injuries.

Leland High School – 4 Dead, 16 Wounded

The deadliest Mississippi shooting this weekend took place in the small town of Leland, located in the western part of the state. Following the Leland High School homecoming football game against Charleston High School on Friday, celebrations continued into the night. According to The Guardian, four people died, and at least 16 others were shot when bullets rained down on the crowd.

Four victims in critical condition required an emergency airlift to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, while 12 others received medical treatment at local hospitals. Mayor John Lee confirmed crowds gathered on a main street for an after-party when the attack happened around midnight.

There are no arrests yet or suspects named in the ongoing investigation, led by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.

Heidelberg High School – 2 Dead, Including An Expectant Mother, 1 Injured

In another small MS town about 200 miles southwest, a fourth homecoming shooting happened at Heidelberg on Friday. The town celebrated a football victory over Mize when gunshots erupted.

Two victims died, and another was injured. WDAM reports the coroner’s office has not yet publicly identified them, but noted one of the fatalities was a pregnant woman. Authorities have not yet revealed any details about how the incident started, but they did take a person of interest into custody on Saturday morning.

Heidelberg Police Department leads the ongoing investigation with assistance from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.

South Delta High School In Rolling Fork – 1 Injured

Gunshots rang out at the South Delta High School football game in Rolling Fork, MS. According to WLBT, Sheriff Herbert Ceaser identified the sole victim as Quindale Wise. He was shot twice outside the football stadium. Wise is in stable condition after he was transported to a local hospital.

Sharkey County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest of two suspects, Justin Pam and Michael Miles Jr. The motive remains unknown as this investigation also continues.

  • Megan Thee Stallion Wins New Sanction Against Milagro Gramz In Defamation Case, Claims Blogger Deleted Text Message Evidence

    [ad_1]

    Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty

Megan Thee Stallion is standing ten toes down in her defamation lawsuit against blogger Milagro Gramz, and she just won a major sanction in their case.

The two will face off in a Houston court via trial, but in the meantime, Meg’s team won a sanction against Milagro after claiming she “deleted thousands of text messages” despite being told not to. Meg was granted an “adverse inference jury instruction” as well as “monetary” sanctions against Milagro—whose full name is Milagro Elizabeth Cooper—for what the court is calling “spoliation of evidence.” According to the legal documents, Cooper was instructed not to delete any correspondence about Meg, but she did so anyway.

Meg’s team said “not so fast” once Milagro was unable to turn over the evidence and requested that the judge make it permissible in court to let the jury know that she attempted to hide things that could have harmed her defense. She is also now responsible for giving Meg back her coins for having to bring the issue up to the court though they have not agreed on what the compensation will be just yet, according to Hot 97. Either way, Milagro is digging herself quite the hole ahead of the trial.

She was already ordered to pay $5,000 towards Meg’s lawyer fees back in July for tampering with evidence, and she’s also accused of circulating a deep fake pornographic image of the “Cobra” artist, which is now considered a federal crime. The entire case stems from Milagro’s commitment to allegedly disseminating falsified information in support of Tory Lanez.

Meg claims that the blogger participated in fueling a smear campaign against her alongside the imprisoned singer’s father, Sonstar Peterson, that contributed to immeasurable harassment in the years after her shooting. Allegedly, the fake porn video was the final straw on the stallion’s back that led her to march Milagro into court.

  • Cardi B Calls BIA A ‘P***y’ For Conveniently Copping Preggo Pleas, Claims BIA Sabotaged Offset Marriage During Pregnancy With Blossom

    [ad_1]

The girls are STILL fighting! Cardi B called BIA a “p***y” for copping pleas about beefing during her pregnancy now, but allegedly spreading cheating accusations to Offset’s friend when Bardi was “five months pregnant with Blossom last year.”

    Source: Prince Williams/ANGELA WEISS

BIA pulled a J. Cole and waved the white flag as Cardi B’s never-ending feud with Nicki Minaj and rappers who backed up Barbie exploded again last week. While the embattled rap divas traded insults about each other’s parenting skills, the Boston rapper realized she’s not on that type of time. While promoting the Oct. 10 release of Bianca on Hot97, BIA denied dedicating her debut album to coming for Cardi.

She threw shade at Cardi’s (and Pardi’s) pen, but told Nessa she didn’t want to compete with Cardi unless they’re getting in the booth together. If you say so, sis!

“Why would I? I don’t care about anybody that much to get up and dedicate my life to like, ‘Oh, let me get at her.’ Like, no way, bro, that’s crazy,” the “Whole Lotta Money” mami said.

“It’s like a little beneath me because that was a year ago for me,” BIA added about continuing the feud after another diss by Cardi.”So now this album was coming out on Oct. 10 either way, whether she dissed me or not.”

On “Pretty & Petty,” Cardi didn’t hold back on “diarrhea BIA” about everything from her body to her relevance. Still, BIA said she charged it to the game rather than taking it personally.

“I was like, ‘Well, I’m glad she felt like she’d get that off.’ I knew it was coming because this is rap. I’m competitive so, like, I diss you, you diss me … It’s part of the game,” she explained.

BIA didn’t let up on the copycat claims about Really Her and Cardi B’s “Enough,” but she welcomed a creative challenge rather than continuing to beef with an expecting mother.

“I can go get on your a** again, but it’s like, girl, enjoy your pregnancy. My mother didn’t raise me to be dragging a pregnant lady. That’s out,” she continued.

BIA may have conveniently moved on, but Cardi pulled up to call her out for copping pleas. Check out Cardi B putting BIA on blast for messing with her marriage to Offset after the flip!

Cardi B Reenters The Chat, Drags BIA For Cowardly Comeback After Losing Their Beef: “You Can’t F**k With Me!”

In the latest chapter of Cardi B vs. everybody, Vibe reports she took to X (formerly Twitter) Spaces to set the record straight. The “Louder” star may claim she’s taking the high road, but Bardi is still ready to take it to hell.

“Last year, everybody was laughing, making fun, hyping b***hes up. Now that I’m talking my s**t, I’m a bully? Nah, I ain’t no f**king bully. I’m just not a p***sy!” Cardi claimed.

“It’s like b***h, I done told you before. You’re not interesting enough for me to look at you. You’re not creative, your music is boring, everything about you is boring. I don’t care nothing about you,” Cardi clapped back. “You wanted a rap beef and you lost. Every single time these b***hes be losing, they delete they f**king wack a** diss records. You can’t f**k with me. I’m a real artist, for real.”

Cardi Says Beefing With A Pregnant Woman Couldn’t Be “Beneath” BIA Because She Allegedly Messed With Her Marriage To Offset During Cardi’s Pregnancy With Blossom

Cardi also accused BIA of throwing rocks about cheating allegations after they squashed the beef, and now hiding her hands.

“This girl is going to tell a very popular producer, [who’s] cool with my ex, that I was cheating on him. I was like, ‘What?! Never, never, never!’ And it’s not Stefon [Diggs] because I have proof of when I started to Stefon,” Cardi explained.

The soon-to-be mom of four asked the producer directly and said he confirmed that BIA spread this rumor about an affair with a gang member. Cardi said this was a dead giveaway as BS because “hood n***as” and gang members excite people who “are not from the hood” like BIA. However, she says that’s not her type.

The “Bodega Baddie” also shut down BIA’s claims that she has too much home training to beef with a pregnant woman. The record-breaking rapper said BIA was “goingggg around saying I stepped outside of my marriage when I was five months pregnant with Blossom last year.” Is it “Oochie Wally” or “One Mic?”

Welp, it looks like Cardi is still very much the drama, and her memory is as long as her bundles when it’s time to fact-check.

Do you think the feud between Cardi B and BIA is really over or will one of the baddies spin the block on their beef again?

  • Whew, Chileee… Must-See Tweets, Memes & Reactions To ‘RHOP’ Star Wendy Osefo & Husband Eddie’s Arrests On Felony Fraud Charges

    They (allegedly) did WHAT?

It was just another regular-degular Friday until TMZ dropped an internet-shaking bomb that RHOP star Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie Osefo, were arrested on criminal fraud charges.

According to court documents obtained by the outlet, Wendy faces 16 charges, including seven felony counts for submitting false or misleading information in excess of $300, plus a misdemeanor charge for making a false statement to an officer.

While social media spiraled into a frenzy over the news, WBAL-11 TV News reported that Dr. Wendy and Eddie were charged with multiple counts of insurance fraud following an investigation into an allegedly falsified burglary at their Maryland home.

According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the couple’s Finksburg residence in April 2024 after the Osefos claimed their home had been broken into while they were vacationing in Jamaica.

BOSSIP previously reported on that news, and Wendy released a statement to TMZ at the time, stating:

“My family and I are devastated and feel violated by this intrusion. We thank God no one was home … so for that we feel very blessed. Material things can always be replaced.”

The pair told authorities that approximately $200,000 worth of luxury jewelry, clothing, and handbags, including Birkins, had been stolen.

Court documents obtained by WBAL revealed that investigators later discovered inconsistencies in the couple’s statements, including evidence that more than $20,000 worth of “stolen” items had been returned to stores for refunds.

The investigation also found that the Osefos filed multiple overlapping insurance claims for the same alleged losses — and that social media posts showed Wendy wearing a diamond ring she had reported stolen just weeks after the supposed break-in.

An email obtained by investigators allegedly showed Eddie asking Wendy if there were “additional high-value items” they could add to their inventory to reach their insurance policy’s $423,000 maximum.

When authorities executed a search warrant at the couple’s home, they reportedly found at least 15 items that matched those claimed as stolen.

WBAL adds that Wendy, 40, was indicted on seven counts of insurance fraud, eight counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and one count of making a false statement to police.

Eddie, 41, faces nine counts of insurance fraud, eight counts of conspiracy, and one false-statement charge. Yikes!

Seemingly unbothered by the charges, the couple released a statement to PEOPLE.

“Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Edward Osefo, are back home safely with their family and in good spirits,” a representative told the outlet.

“They are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from friends, fans, and colleagues,” the rep said, adding that they “look forward to their day in court,” before concluding with, “At this time, they respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead.”
