  • Sisterhood Summit: Beyoncé & Solange Show Love To Brandy & Monica During Star-Studded The Boy Is Mine Tour NJ Stop

    [ad_1]

The highly anticipated reunion tour with Brandy and Monica just hit a star-studded major stop, marking an “extra special” night in Newark, New Jersey. Brandy and Monica may have been the main event, but the stop in Newark cemented the tour’s legacy. The energy and success of the entire run are a culmination of a history that spans more than 27 years. The performance at the Prudential Center marked one of the final stops before the tour’s conclusion, and it drew a who’s who of music royalty.

After the Boys Is Mine Tour NJ stop, Monica quickly shared photos and videos on Instagram, giving a public shout-out to the women who were present to support the tour. Monica thanked Kelly Rowland, who has opened for the tour on several dates, for being a “class act” and for the “admirable” bond she shares with Beyoncé.

Monica continued: “You ladies and your family have always shown me genuine love. And [Solange], how I adore you. I love all three of you.”

After the concert, clips show Bey and her daughter Rumi greeting Monica. Rumi is seemingly a huge Monica fan as she shyly said, “Hi Monica.” The mother-daughter duo also spoke with legend Patti LaBelle, who joined Kelly on stage earlier in the evening.

The Newark stop of the tour marks the second show that Beyoncé attended in support of her former Destiny’s Child sister, Monica, and Brandy.

The rest of the Carter family also attended, as clips report Jay-Z and Blue Ivy (who seems to be almost as tall as her dad!) backstage with Beyoncé and Auntie Solange.

According to Rap-Up, the stage at the Prudential Center was also packed with performances. Surprise appearances added extra star power to the already impressive lineup. Ne-Yo delivered the “smoothest vibes and countless hits,” including a performance of his classic hit, “So Sick.” He was joined by Lola Brooke, who performed “Don’t Play With It.”

The tour’s massive success has been noted by the entire industry. Previous stops have featured stars like Rihanna and Queen Latifah. Kehlani even paid tribute to Brandy during an earlier stop, calling her “Our vocal bible, our Black Cinderella,” cementing the importance of this reunion in R&B history. She also performed her current hit “Folded” for fans.

The Thursday night stop in Houston, TX also saw a celebrity fest as stars like Law Roach, Nas, JT, and Lala Anthony sat in the front row. Ciara, Fat Joe, and Max B also provided performances.

During the Boy Is Mine Tour NJ stop, Monica took a moment to thank her co-headliner, Brandy, for their renewed partnership. She wrote, “Creating history together 27 years and counting! I’ve enjoyed watching the world celebrate your gift as you step further into your purpose!”

This public acknowledgment underscores just how far the two have come after years of on-again-off-again friendship. This final stretch of The Boys Is Mine Tour cements the tour’s status as a cultural homecoming, celebrating the growth and sisterhood of the two R&B legends.

  • ‘We Ain’t Buying It!’ Black Voters Matter Co-Founder LaTosha Brown Issues National Call For Black Friday Boycott

    [ad_1]

As shopping dominates the reason for the holiday season, LaTosha Brown wants Black consumers to save 100% off with an economic protest of retailers who take us for granted. Inspired by the upcoming 70th anniversary of the Montgomery Bus Boycott, Brown is launching the “We Ain’t Buying It” campaign to “turn protest into power and our wallets into weapons for change.”

Source: We Ain’t Buying It / We Ain’t Buying It

Money talks, and the Black Voters Matter co-founder knows a blackout on spending at major corporations from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday will speak in a language those in power can’t help but hear loud and clear. This coming week, she wants to make our dollars count by only investing in businesses that invest in the community. The movement takes aim at some of the biggest names in the holiday shopping game to send a meaningful message.

LaTosha Brown exclusively told NewsOne, “20 – 40% of retail sales happen on one weekend that starts with Black Friday. Look Black folks, if they want to call it Black Friday, let’s show them what a Black Friday really looks like.”

Brown’s rallying call, “We Ain’t Buying It,” refers to divesting from harmful policies and institutions as much as the companies that support them.

“We ain’t buying this foolishness. We’re not buying this racism. We’re not buying the abandonment of DEI. We’re not buying that the wealthiest country in the world cannot take care of its own citizens, but can take money to build golden dining rooms. We’re not buying from companies that won’t stand with us,” Brown said.

According to weaintbuyingit.com “This action is taking direct aim at Target, for caving to this administration’s biased attacks on DEI; Home Depot, for allowing and colluding with ICE to kidnap our neighbors on their properties; and Amazon, for funding this administration to secure their own corporate tax cuts.”

How To Participate In The “We Ain’t Buying It” Movement

    We Ain't Buying It Flyers
Source: We Ain’t Buying It / We Ain’t Buying It

We Ain’t Buying It “urges African Americans to use economic pressure to demand respect from companies that profit from our culture but abandon our communities.”

The steps to participate in this movement are simple.

Full Blackout: No purchases from Target, Amazon or Home Depot from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday. Instead of spending money, focus on spending time with loved ones.

Redirect Spending: Skip the companies undermining democracy. Shop small, local, or with businesses affirming our humanity for Small Business Saturday.

Join the Movement: Pledge to be a conscious consumer.

Amplify: Spread the word. Share the message in conversation and online.

The website also provides a toolkit of resources to get informed, get involved, and get others down for the cause.

We Ain’t Buying It Continues The Legacy of The Montgomery Bus Boycott As The 70th Anniversary Falls On Cyber Monday

Although the heart of “We Ain’t Buying It takes place from Nov. 27 – Dec. 1, the brief boycott is bigger than this moment. It is a continuation of the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement, which used collective economic action to demand change.

Cyber Monday, the annual peak of online shopping, also marks the 70th anniversary of the Montgomery Bus Boycott on Dec. 1. Brown seeks to remind everyone who enjoys rights from those sacrifices that “the road to freedom isn’t finished — it’s evolving.”

Brown and the We Ain’t Buying It movement “call on a new generation to carry the torch of courage, community, and change.” The iconic example from Montgomery was far from the easiest or most convenient choice in a community where few households had cars. It wasn’t an impulsive action by Civil Rights legend Rosa Parks; it was a weeks-long strategic sacrifice from a community united for a common cause of dignity, equality, and justice.

It’s long overdue for the U.S. to do right by the Black community and as long as the biggest institutions and corporations refuse… WE AIN’T BUYING IT!

  • Kandi Koated Konfirmation! A Look Inside Kandi Burruss & Todd Tucker’s Prenup After Divorce Announcement

    [ad_1]

After 11 years of marriage, Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker are officially parting ways, confirming their split after what Kandi described as “deep thought and a lot of prayer.” The quiet resolution to their marriage is now bringing renewed attention to the infamous prenuptial agreement—the legal battle that almost halted their wedding a decade ago. Fans are wondering exactly what was in Kandi Burruss’ prenup and what the couple walked away from the marriage with individually.

    Source: Prince Williams / Getty

The confirmation of the split comes after Kandi and Todd had successfully dispelled divorce rumors just last year. Their spirited discussions on their joint YouTube series, “Todd & the Glam Squad,” led some fans to scrutinize their relationship, but the couple insisted those were just “good, fun conversation.” As many witnessed on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the couple met behind the scenes in 2011, eventually leading to their lavish April 2014 wedding that aired on Bravo. They share two children, Ace and Blaze, in addition to Kandi’s daughter, Riley, and Todd’s daughter, Kaela, from previous relationships.

As BOSSIP reported, just last week, the strength of their public bond was still on display when Kandi accepted the Wifetime Achievement Award at BravoCon 2025. “Thank you for surviving the blogs, the shade, the rumors, the lies, the truth, the almost fights, the actual fights, the reunions… You earned this award, too,” she told Todd in a heartfelt onstage shout-out. Despite this public show of unity, the split has been finalized, with Kandi stating her focus remains on “protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.”

Kandi Burruss’ Prenup Includes No Spousal Support, Just Protection

The terms of Kandi Burruss’ prenup, which Todd finally signed minutes before the wedding, are now dictating the financial terms of the separation. The initial negotiation of the prenup was famously controversial, with Todd storming out of the wedding rehearsal over the legal document he deemed “some bullsh*t.”

The most contentious clauses involved Todd having to vacate Kandi’s home within 30 days if they split, and the stipulation that he would receive nothing if Kandi died during their marriage. Mama Joyce, Kandi’s outspoken mother, was a driving force behind the prenup, fearing Todd was “looking for a payday.”

Kandi has fiercely defended the purpose of the prenup over the years. She argued that women who are financially better off need to protect themselves. Her reasoning was rooted in watching other celebrity divorces play out publicly.

“I’m not paying spousal support, oh no,” she stated. “I’m seeing too much going on right now. Halle Berry’s paying $20,000 a month in child support, and then poor Sherri [Shepherd], she had a pre-nup and now [her husband] is coming after her. They’ve only been married a few years. Are you kidding me?” She maintained that the things she wanted to protect were those she had “going into the marriage, meaning: Bedroom Kandi, my music, my stores, my properties, and different things that I had going into the marriage.”

Todd ultimately signed the agreement on the eve of the wedding, giving up his rights to all alimony and community property. He stated at the time that he signed to prove his love, saying, “I proved once and for all I’m in this relationship because I love Kandi, not because I want her money.” [Radar]. The resolution of the prenup means that the assets Kandi built before their union are secure, allowing the couple to focus on their children as they navigate this new chapter.

  • Megan Thee Stallion Tearfully Testifies About Suicide & $240K Of Therapy After ‘Disgusting’ Deepfake Porn In Milagro Gramz Defamation Case

    [ad_1]

Megan Thee Stallion broke down in tears about suicide while testifying about blogger Milagro Gramz’s alleged harassment and spread of deepfake porn. The rapper’s lawyers claim an alleged affair with Tory Lanez’s father was also Milagro’s motive for campaigning against Megan online.

    Source: MICHAEL TRAN / Getty

More than five years passed since Megan Thee Stallion’s (Megan Pete’s) shooting, but she revealed the ordeal left wounds more than skin-deep. As BOSSIP previously reported, Megan sued Tory Lanez (Daystar Peterson) and his “paid surrogate” Milagro Gramz (Milagro Cooper) for a years-long campaign to “denigrate, belittle, insult, and spread false statements about Ms. Pete on her online social media platforms, for no other reason than to bully, harass and punish Ms. Pete for Mr. Peterson’s conviction and to tarnish her reputation, causing emotional distress.”

Megan Thee Stallion Takes The Stand With Tearful Testimony About Wanting To Kill Herself After Deepfake Porn Circulated

The Grammy winner broke down in tears that she “wanted to die” after Gramz allegedly directed her millions of followers to view the A.I.-generated sex tape using Megan’s likeness in 2024. Legal Affairs and Trials with Meghann Cuniff reports the jury viewed the computer-generated clip in court on Monday.

When Megan’s former manager T-Farris (Travis Farris) told her about it circulating online, she struggled with suicidal ideation and not “feeling like existing anymore.”

“I don’t want to be here. I’m tired of waking up. I didn’t care what happened. I just wanted to tie. I was so tired of being alive,” she said.

Megan revealed that she fought thoughts of self-harm because she believed that’s what Tory and Milagro wanted:

“So I can’t kill myself because I don’t want to give them what they’re looking for.” She continued, “I feel like … to this day, I feel a little, like, defeated. Because no matter what, no matter if the video was fake or not … [Gramz] wanted it to be real.”

The mental health advocate also hoped her strength could empower “another woman out there going through that.” She added, “All the things that I went through and I’m still going through hopefully can inspire other women to want to tell their truth.”

See how Megan Thee Stallion’s emotional distress led to $240,000 worth of therapy and why her lawyers speculate a romance between Milagro Gramz and Tory Lanez father after the flip.

Megan Thee Stallion Suffered PTSD, Required $240K Worth Of Therapy Over Deepfake

Megan testified that the jury’s review of the explicit A.I.-generated video was still “really embarrassing to have to look at a bunch of people you don’t know see you in a position like that,” she said. “Like, I know it’s not me, but being in front of everybody else, and they have to watch it … it’s really embarrassing.”

According to TMZ, T-Farris took the stand to testify that Megan’s recovery from the deepfake cost $240,000 for a month of intensive therapy for emotional distress. She apologized that her friend had to witness the footage even though it wasn’t real.

The expensive treatments took place at a medical facility for Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which helps teaches how to store trauma in the brain. Dr. Lenore Walker later testified about diagnosing Megan with PTSD.

In addition to false images of the star going viral, Megan battled “false narratives” like a rumors that she slept with T-Farris. Milagro repeatedly called Megan a liar about the shooting and her relationship with Tory, which she admitted during the shooting trial was sexual at one time.

However, Megan’s attorney’s claim Milagro was possibly hiding an affair of her own with Tory’s father, Sonstar Peterson. The belligerent blogger was already sanctioned for deleting 20,000 texts with Sonstar despite court orders to preserve those communications.

TMZ reports Megan’s legal team speculated about a “romantic relationship between Tory’ dramatic daddy and Milagro based on “alleged text messages in which Sonstar gave Milagro direct instructions how to get into the security gate of his Tarzana home” and an exchange of “love you” messages.

  • Whew Lawd! The Hottest Thirst Traps Of The Week, Vol. 122

    [ad_1]

    Yes lawd!

Source: Leon Bennett/Getty Images for EBONY Media Group

Back at it again with the hottest thirst traps that dropped during a busy week dominated by Cardi B revealing photos of her precious baby boy, Bravo boss Frances Berwick opening the door for a Nene Leakes return to RHOA, Usher suing his longtime friend and producer Bryan-Michael Cox over unpaid loan, Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page sending social media into swoonlivion, and more.

As promised, we’ve compiled swoon-worthy stunners (and our thirst-trappin’ celebrity faves) with Kayla Nicole making her return to the series after winning Halloween 2025 with her viral homage to Toni Braxton.

In the buzzy video, the professional baddie can be seen recreating the R&B legend’s “He Wasn’t Man Enough” visuals in an epic moment seemingly aimed at Taylor Swift and ex-boo Travis Kelce.

Naturally, the internet erupted over the spicy video that doubled as a long-awaited maybe-response to Tayvis with lyrics that sparked speculation that Kayla fired shots at the Super Bowl champ.

However, her dressing up as Toni and singing that particular song appears to have been one big coincidence based on her recent interview at this year’s star-studded Ebony Power 100 Gala.

“Last year, I did Ciara — ‘Ride.’ Had a little viral moment. This year I did Toni,” she said during a red carpet interview.

“To be honest, that iconic dress, I have a girlfriend, she has a jewelry brand, I have to shout her out, Lace by Tanaya, she made that dress. That is a handmade piece that I wore. So it just worked out perfectly.”

“I had the wardrobe. I knew that song like the back of my hand. I’ve been singing that since 2000. So it just— it made sense.”

This week’s thirst trap compilation also features Chlöe Bailey delivering heat along with Mariah The Scientist and Serena Page giving what needs to be gave.

There’s also big baddie energy from Raven Loso, Priscilla Donkoh, and more so we invite you to enjoy our latest collection of top-tier thirst traps on the flip.

  • 7 things you can stop worrying about | Nerd Fitness

    [ad_1]

Fitness shouldn’t be one more thing to feel bad about.

So today, I want to take a few worries off of your plate.

Think of this as a permission slip to stop overthinking the stuff that doesn’t matter nearly as much as you’ve been told.

Stop worrying about missing a week of workouts.

Even if you miss a week of workouts multiple times each year, it has no discernible impact on your overall progress.

You may feel less “full” or “pumped” in the moment, but nothing structural is changing. And even if you’re off for longer than a week, regaining any lost strength or muscle happens relatively quickly.

Bottom line: if you miss a week for a vacation or because you’re taking care of a sick kiddo, don’t sweat it. And if you need help getting into a rhythm to start with, we’ve got you.

Stop worrying about eating that piece of cake.

    There are no “bad” foods.

And it’s not just cake that’s getting a bad rap.

Unfortunately, fear-mongering around food is at an all-time high right now.

Just this week, I saw someone say not to eat too much spinach or it will bleed the iron out of your body. 🤦‍♂️

Not only are these messages wildly inaccurate and unhelpful – they make you feel like you did something wrong.

Nothing could be further from the truth!

Bottom line: you’re not “bad” for choosing to eat a food. And if you’re feeling confused by all the nutrition noise out there, check out our Guide to Healthy Eating.

Stop worrying about hitting the perfect set & rep range.

You can make amazing progress with both high volume (as high as 20+ sets per muscle) or low volume (as little as 3-4 sets per muscle).

Heck, even 1 set per week done to failure has shown strength improvements.

    Same goes for reps.

You can build muscle on anything from 5-30 reps, as long as they are challenging!

Bottom line: if you’re not competing in a strength sport, a few challenging sets per week (at least 5 reps per set, close to failure) is all you’ll ever need. For most people, I’d stick in the 6-15 rep range. Not because it’s a magic number, but because it tends to be the easiest to execute!

    Stop worrying about rest periods.

I LOVE that this was a question I got from a reader, because it highlights that they’re thinking about recovery, too.

There is so much conflicting information out there that we should be taking 2-3 min rest in between sets to gain muscle. But with supersets we’re doing the complete opposite. Thoughts?

Here’s the thing: they actually both work.

A June 2024 study comparing supersets versus traditional straight sets found similar amounts of muscle growth – but noted that supersets DO increase perceived exertion (i.e. it feels harder, likely because with less rest, you’re more out of breath and muscles feel more fatigued!)

Bottom line: do whatever fits your schedule and enjoyment of exercise. Supersets save time and add a cardio challenge. Longer rests help you feel fresher for your next set – which is great for strength. And both build muscle just fine.

Stop worrying about if you have the right workout tools.

If you’ve ever worried about if you should use a machine vs a dumbbell, a barbell vs a kettlebell, or just your own bodyweight, let me put your mind at ease.

    They are all great.

You can use any of them to get awesome results.

Bottom line: The best tool is the one that you have access to, are comfortable with, and are excited to use. We can figure out the rest from there.

Stop worrying about “optimizing” your protein intake.

    Protein is important.

But if you’re getting around 0.7-0.8g/lb of bodyweight, you’ve already eating enough to support strength, muscle, recovery, and satiety.

Heck, I have clients see huge improvements at even lower protein intakes (between 0.4-0.6g/lb of bodyweight).

What’s that look like in the real world?

For most people, it’s around 1-2 palm-sized servings of protein at each meal.

    That’s it.

And sure, going to higher levels may have additional benefits in some unique cases. But these are the smaller optimizations around the edges, not the bulk of the impact.

Bottom line: 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight is an easy number to remember, but it doesn’t apply across everyone broadly. Do your best to get a solid source of protein in with each meal, and you’re in a great spot! 🙌

Stop worrying about “perfect” exercise technique.

The truth is, there is a wider variety of safe and effective exercise techniques than most would lead you to believe. We all have slightly different bodies and anthropometry (ratios of arm length, torso, leg, etc.) One person might feel more comfortable squatting with toes straight ahead and a narrow stance. Another with toes slightly turned out and a wider stance, etc.

    None of these are wrong.

We run into trouble when we try to force people with different bodies to all move the exact same way. That’s not how it works.

The “best” technique is the one that fits the individual, feels good, and allows them to express their best effort in the target areas.

Bottom line: Technique doesn’t need to be perfect – it needs to be safe, repeatable, and effective. Everything that falls within that is great!

    So what does matter?

This is the part that gets lost in the noise.

What moves the needle the most is incredibly boring and incredibly consistent:

    • Getting enough sleep (7-9 hours for most people)
    • Eating mostly balanced meals (with foods you enjoy)
    • Moving your body often (some low intensity, some higher intensity)
    • Doing strength work a couple times a week (near to failure)
    • Staying connected to people you care about
    • Having a strategy for when life gets messy

The hard part isn’t learning the “right” way.

It’s tuning out all the noise so you can stay focused on the stuff that actually works.

My hope is that at least one thing in here lets you take a little breath and go,

“Oh…thank goodness. I can stop worrying about that.”

If you want help making all this feel doable in a busy, real-life schedule, just hit reply. I’m always happy to help.

  • Diageo’s Head Of Community Engagement & Partnerships Dr. Danielle Robinson Redefines Homecoming Experience With ‘Show Your HBCU Spirit’ Initiative [Exclusive]

    [ad_1]

    Source: Diageo

Behind every culture-shifting brand campaign, is a dynamic visionary like Dr. Danielle Robinson, Head of Community Engagement and Partnerships at Diageo, who elevated Homecoming season with the famed brand’s ‘Show Your HBCU Spirit’ initiative.

“We started off in 2021 with a $12.7 million dollar donation to 28 HBCUs and wanted to really stay engaged with our schools and the alumni audience by engaging around moments of celebration like Homecomings and Anniversaries,” said Robinson, an award-winning advocate for community-empowerment.

“It was really when I started to engage and understand the neglect of the HBCU community from a Governmental perspective as well as a corporate perspective, that I thought this was a way for us to engage and make a difference.

Rooted in authenticity, the impactful initiative celebrates HBCU culture while building community, powering Homecoming/Classic activations, providing scholarships to support future leaders, and fostering essential programs like Learning Skills For Life.

“The Learning Skills for Life program is one of our flagship community programs globally,” said Robinson. “I lead it here for North America, and have been doing it for 12 years. It’s a program that specializes in training people in underemployed communities in bartending, hospitality, and entrepreneurship.

“We operate in 10 cities and have in-person programs so it’s free, free, free for anybody who wants to get a foundation in bartending. The online and in-person classes that we do face to face range from 5 days to 3 weeks and you can be a bar back or a full-on bartender when you graduate.

We graduated 8,000 students in North America since we started–280,000 globally and partner with duty-free companies, Carnival Cruise Lines, and Marriott Hilton.

Our students are working everywhere. I’ve had students on Bar Rescue. It’s phenomenal.”

With permanent endowments at 28 HBCUs and minority-serving Institutions, Diageo extended its winning streak with stops at the buzziest Homecomings, including SpelHouse, North Carolina A&T’s ‘GHOE,’ and Howard University’s star-studded Off The Yard Festival.

To honor the legacy and pride of “The Mecca,” the trend-conscious brand brought out viral comedian Desi Banks and emerging Hip-Hop star Lady London to celebrate the enduring spirit of Howard University.

Building on the momentum from Homecoming SZN ’25, Diageo announced its return to the legendary Bayou Classic between Grambling State and Southern University on Nov. 28-29 in New Orleans.

As tens of thousands gather for the storied spectacle, the brand (which serves as the Classic’s official spirits partner) will spotlight inclusivity, community impact, and legacy through alumni storytelling and student engagement via the Learning Skills for Life program.

“New Orleans is amazing during the Bayou Classic–300,000 people descending on the city,” said Robinson. “You know, the dome, all the parties, the celebrations in the streets, you could just walk up and start dancing in the middle of the sidewalks.”

While there’s certainly an emphasis on promoting a good time, especially when enjoying spirits from its robust portfolio (over 200 brands!), it’s clear that safety is also a major priority for Diageo.

“I want [students] to leave [our events] with a message of responsible consumption and that sometimes the best decision is not to consume at all,” said Robinson.

So we have our ‘Cheers To Choice’ program, which is about low, mid, and no options, which means we have mocktails on the menu, we have low alc options on the menu, so you have some choices.

And sometimes you might just want a mocktail, or you could have a fantastic cocktail from some of our brands-so they have many choices.

[And we want them to] make sure they’re thinking about how they get home after an evening–our ‘Take a Minute, Make a Plan’ program addresses that. But just understanding that alcohol needs to be used in a responsible way.”

  • Nicki Minaj Speaks At United Nations Panel, Praises Donald Trump For Slamming ‘Extremism’ Toward Christians In Nigeria

    [ad_1]

Nicki Minaj just added another side quest to her resume.

    Source: ANGELA WEISS / Getty

The rapper made an appearance at the United Nations Headquarters on Tuesday, Nov. 18, using her time at the podium to call attention to what she calls growing “extremism” toward Christians in Nigeria.

“I would like to thank President Trump for prioritizing this issue and for his leadership on the global stage in calling for urgent action to defend Christians in Nigeria,” she said in her four-minute speech. “Today, faith is under attack in way too many places in Nigeria. Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes, and killed. Churches have been burned, families have been torn apart, and entire communities live in fear constantly simply because of how they pray.”

Before Minaj spoke, UN Ambassador Mike Waltz set the tone by repeating claims of Christian persecution and thanking the rapper for stepping up to “demand action.” Her speech kicked off a panel titled “Combating Religious Violence and the Killing of Christians in Nigeria.”

This speech comes on the heels of Nicki’s recent posts on X, where she boosted Trump’s claim that Christianity in Nigeria was facing an “existential threat.”

She also shared a pro-MAGA video from the White House synced to her song, “Beez In the Trap,” as well as another clip filled with xenophobic and transphobic messaging about Trump’s second-term achievements, which ended up costing her over 100,000 followers.

Trump has repeatedly claimed that Christians in Nigeria are being “persecuted” and killed by “radical Islamists,” threatening to invade the country “guns-a-blazing to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities,” per Rolling Stone. In September, Senator Ted Cruz introduced a bill targeting what he described as persecution of Nigerian Christians.

Organizations, including the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project and the Council on Foreign Relations, have pushed back on that narrative, saying the situation is far more complicated.

In an Al-Jazeera op-ed, Gimba Kakanda, Senior Special Assistant to Nigeria’s president, wrote, “Every region of Nigeria has both Christians and Muslims living side by side, and conflicts typically unfold along community or regional lines rather than strictly religious ones.” Bulama Bukarti, a conflict researcher and human rights lawyer, told ABC News the violence is “indiscriminate,” and an Imam in the same report said, “The kind of pain we’ve gone through for the past years — this issue affects both faiths.”

Despite those sentiments, Minaj echoed Trump and other conservatives by suggesting Christians specifically are being targeted.

“This is about standing up in the face of injustice,” she said. “It’s about what I’ve always stood for my entire career, and I will continue to stand for that for the rest of my life. I will care if anyone anywhere is being persecuted for their beliefs.”

Social media is abuzz over upcoming Rom-Com You, Me & Tuscany starring Halle Bailey and Bridgerton alum Regé-Jean Page as strangers-turned-potential lovers who get entangled in a Rom-Commy conundrum stemming from one little lie in one large Italian villa.

Bursting with bright-eyed wonder is Halle Bailey who stars as Anna–a 20-something woman trying to figure life out after a string of bad decisions that include abandoning her dreams of becoming a chef.

When Anna loses her house-sitting job (and housing), a chance encounter with a handsome Italian man named Matteo (who happens to have a villa sitting empty in Tuscany) inspire her to jet off for Italy against the advice of her always-honest bestie, Claire.

But Anna’s plan to crash at Matteo’s villa without permission for one night falls apart when Matteo’s mother, Gabriella (Italian film icon Isabella Ferrari), shows up at the house unexpectedly.

In a panic, Anna allows Gabriella to believe that she is Matteo’s fiancée. Uh oh!

Naturally, that one little lie grows into a big problem when Matteo’s cousin, Michael (Regé-Jean Page) shows up and connects with Anna who, as you probably can guess, discovers that the heat between them may ignite a fire that will transform her life. Whew!

    Check out the trailer below:

Produced by Will Packer and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Kat Coiro, the buzzy film has all of the deliciously cheesy ingredients of a great Rom-Com with lovable leads, Halle and Rege, at the forefront of the feel-good story.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the two young stars opened up about their real-life meet-cute and more ahead of filming in Italy’s gorgeous countryside.

“I remember I saw him [at this year’s Met Gala]–you were wearing all red, it was so cool,” said Bailey about meeting Regé for the first time.

“It’s very weird ’cause you’re nervous and you’re like, ‘Oh, if I go up to this person, are they gonna be nice?’ And then I’m like, we’re doing a movie together, I’m gonna just go up.”

Jumping in was Regé who complemented his co-star perfectly during the cutesy chat currently going viral online.

“It’s kind of a wild place to meet someone,” said Page. “And we just kind of hung out because those rooms can be pretty intimidating. It’s a room full of every luminary in the world. So finding someone who’s just like, ‘Hey, you wanna be friends? Well, we’re gonna be friends. We’re about to go on this great long holiday.’”

Will you be seated for You, Me & Tuscany (on April 10, 2026)? Do you already have a date in mind? Tell us down below and peep the social media hysteria over the upcoming Rom-Com on the flip.

You know we had to salute those mighty Spartans of Norfolk State University known for its vibrant campus culture, authentic tidewater vibes, and spectacular Spartan Legion band in the heart of Norfolk, Virginia (across the bridge from pesky rival Hampton University).

Founded in 1935 as the Norfolk Unit of Virginia Union University during the Great Depression, the comprehensive urban public institution is “committed to transforming students’ lives through exemplary teaching, research, and service” while fostering a “supportive academic and culturally diverse environment for all,” per its official site.

Dedicated to empowering its students to turn aspirations into reality as well-rounded citizens and leaders for the 21st century, NSU recently made headlines by receiving a record-breaking $50 million gift from Philanthropist MacKenzie Scott.

In 2020, Scott gifted the university $40 million and was consistently briefed by President Javaune Adams-Gaston on the progress being made at the institution.

“This $50M gift will catapult Norfolk State to its next level of excellence,” wrote the university in a statement.

The “Please Me” rapper took to Instagram on Thursday, Nov. 13 to announce that she has given birth her baby boy with boyfriend Stefon Diggs.

This is Cardi’s first child with Diggs, but she is already a mother to three children with her estranged husband Offset: 7-year-old daughter Kulture, 4-year-old son Wave, and 1-year-old daughter Blossom.

The former Love & Hip Hop star dropped the news in the caption of an Instagram video, which features her lip-synching to her song, “Hello.”

“My life has always been a combination of different chapters and different seasons,” she began in her caption. “My last chapter was the beginning of a new season. Starting over is never easy but it’s been so worth it! I brought new music and a new album to the world! A new baby into my world, and one more reason to be the best version of me, one more reason to love me more than anything else or anyone else so I can continue giving my babies the love and life they deserve. This next chapter is Me vs. Me!”

The rapper continued: “It’s me against all odds me against everything meant to get in my way. I’ve started prepping for tour getting my body right getting my mind right. • Kayla Nicole Apologizes For ‘Hurtful’ Tweets Swifties Uncovered That Caused Her To Delete X Account: ‘I’m Ashamed That I Ever Thought Or Spoke That Way’

    [ad_1]

Kayla Nicole has finally spoken out about her past offensive tweets, which comes a week after she deleted her account on X as her old posts were being recirculated.

    Source: Leon Bennett / Getty

The influencer took to her Instagram Stories to address her old posts, apologizing for the “hurtful” nature of the things she said previously.

“I want to take a moment to sincerely apologize for the hurtful tweets I posted so many years ago,” she began. “Seeing them resurface last week has been incredibly difficult, and reading them now, I’m ashamed that I ever thought or spoke that way. They were ignorant, hurtful and completely wrong.”

Nicole’s resurfaced posts were from 2010 and 2014 and included the use of homophobic slurs, per People, also referring to people from Mexico and India in derogatory ways.

“The woman I am today would never use those words or express those kinds of views,”Kayla continued in her statement. “Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how cruel and harmful online hate can be, and I would never want to add to that world of pain in any form. I have since deleted those tweets and my X account entirely, because I refuse to keep that energy alive or contribute to a cycle of hate.”

She concluded, “I take full responsibility for what I posted, and I’m truly sorry to anyone I may have hurt. My heart, values, and perspective are completely rooted in empathy, love, and respect for others. I can’t change the past, but I will continue showing through my actions who I’ve become and what I stand for today.”

This statement from the Pre-Game podcast host comes after she insisted she was not throwing shots at ex Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift with her Halloween costume.

Nicole went on her podcast to talk about her Toni Braxton outfit and the dance routine she posted on her Instagram last month, which had many people convinced it was a jab at her ex-boyfriend’s fiancée. Kayla went viral for recreating Toni Braxton’s”He Wasn’t Man Enough” music video.

Thinking she was shading the couple known by fans as “Tayvis,” Swift’s fans went online to uncover Kayla’s old tweets, which is how all of the offensive ones ended up resurfacing. Still, the model claimed it was solely a tribute to a legend and wasn’t meant to tear down another woman.

“For me, this moment was about celebrating an icon in my culture,” she said on The Pre-Game. “Someone that I have listened to since I was very, very young — whether it was in the car with my mother, whether it was me in high school stealing my mom’s CDs … playing it in my whip on the way to high school.”

“Shoutout Toni Braxton,” Nicole continued. “You guys, she commented on my post … and I feel like that in itself, I feel like I won Halloween.”

  • Why accountability feels different for everyone | Nerd Fitness

    [ad_1]

Two words I hear all the time: motivation and accountability.

From clients, readers, and people who want to get healthier but can’t seem to make it stick.

While they sound simple, both are actually…complicated.

When someone says, “I just need more accountability,” what that really means can vary a lot.

    • Sometimes it’s about systems and structure.
    • Sometimes it’s about clarity on their goals and how to achieve them.
    • And sometimes, it’s about how we personally respond to expectations – both from ourselves and from others.

Why no single “system” fits everyone

If you’ve ever read books like Atomic Habits by James Clear, The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg, or Switch by Chip and Dan Heath, you know there are a lot of frameworks out there for understanding behavior.

After 15 years of coaching, here’s what I’ve learned:

None of these systems are foolproof. None of them fully capture how complex people really are.

But that’s not the point. Each one is a lens. A new vantage point that helps us see our habits and struggles differently.

And when you’re stuck, sometimes that’s exactly what you need: a fresh perspective that gives you a new way to approach things.

    Enter The Four Tendencies

Several years ago, our entire coaching team read The Four Tendencies by Gretchen Rubin, and it provided some really key insights that we’ve baked into our coaching program and how we think about helping people ever since.

The basic concept is this: people respond to internal and external expectations differently. By understanding which expectations you thrive with, and which are a struggle, you can work with your natural tendencies instead of fighting against them.

The most common tendency we see is The Obliger.

Obligers are the glue of a team or family. They meet outer expectations (deadlines, commitments, helping others), but resist inner ones (self-care, personal goals, boundaries).

    Sound familiar?

    If you’ve ever said:

“I know what I should be doing… but I can’t seem to do it for me,”

…you might be in this group.

One of our clients described it perfectly:

“Every bit of energy feels consumed by surviving my workday, meeting the needs of my family, helping with the needs of others… there’s too little self-care and self-prioritization in my life at this time.

I know I bring the situation upon myself. I am wired to commit to things, to be involved, to want to be needed and valued and recognized. But it comes at a price. The demands from other people or things leave little left for me.”

That’s the Obliger experience in a nutshell.

And let me be clear, this isn’t about weakness or lack of willpower.

In fact, Obligers get SO MUCH done.

The problem is they often sacrifice their own goals to help others, which can lead to health challenges in the long-run.

    How we help Obligers succeed

At Nerd Fitness Coaching, we help Obligers by providing three key supports: external accountability, Dial Mode adjustments, and tracking wins as they accumulate to reinforce and reward their progress.

Here’s how you can translate those into your own practice:

    • A coach or workout buddy you checks in and celebrates wins with you
    • A checklist or tracking system that makes your progress visible
    • Building out a Dial Mode – i.e. a plan for different types of days so you can adjust accordingly and avoid burnout
    • Reframing goals as something that benefits others – i.e. “I’m exercising so I have more energy for my kids.”

As you’ll notice, several of those are about externalizing your accountability.

Here’a another fun tactic: write a letter from your future self to your current self thank you for showing up. This is the exact thing that clicked for my client Gina. When things got hectic, writing that letter made her feel accountable to her future self (in a good way!). That simple shift helped her stay consistent through a chaotic month.

The Hidden Danger: burnout and the “pause button”

Obligers often take on too much.

They juggle a million competing expectations – deadlines, family, coworkers, community.

And when it all gets too heavy, they tend to hit the big red pause button on SOME of those.

“I just can’t deal with all of this right now. I’ll get back to it later.”

Totally understandable. And in fact, it’s an act of self-preservation. They CAN’T keep going at 100 miles per hour.

We often see folks in this scenario try to cut out all of these outside expectations with the hope that they’ll finally have time to focus on themselves later.

It sounds logical, but it usually backfires.

Because Obligers actually thrive with some form of external accountability.

So the key isn’t to eliminate expectations. It’s to curate them.

Here are a few counterintuitive questions I like to ask to do just that:

What are the benefits of NOT moving towards goal X right now?

And what are the consequences of continuing to move towards it?

By reversing the old “pro/con” list, we can get a lot of clarity on what feels good to you!

    Big picture takeaway

    Motivation and accountability aren’t one-size-fits-all.

Understanding your “tendency” gives you a new lens – and using tools specific to your needs increases your chances of success in the long-run.

If you want to see where you land, you can take the free quiz from Gretchen here -> https://gretchenrubin.com/quiz/the-four-tendencies-quiz/

Let me know which tendency you get! (I’m a Questioner! 🙋‍♂️)

    -Matt

P.S. Fun fact: ~60% of the people we work with at Nerd Fitness Coaching identify as Obligers. Everyone’s needs are different, which is why we design coaching around you, not generic motivation hacks. If that sounds like the kind of structure you’ve been missing, I’d love to talk to you. • Can gifted testing spot potential in young children?

    [ad_1]

by Sarah Carr, The Hechinger Report
    November 13, 2025

In New Orleans, a few hundred dollars could once help a family buy a “gifted” designation for their preschooler.

As an education reporter for the city’s Times-Picayune newspaper several years ago, I discovered that there was a two-tiered system for determining whether 3-year-olds met that mark, which, in New Orleans, entitled them to gifted-only prekindergarten programs at a few of the city’s most highly sought-after public schools.

Families could sit on a lengthy waitlist and have their children tested at the district central office for free. Or they could pay the money for the private test. In 2008, the year that I wrote about the issue, only a few of the more than 100 children tested at the central office were deemed gifted; but dozens of privately tested kiddos — nearly all of them tested by the same psychologist for $300 — met the benchmark.

Since working on that story, I’ve been interested in the use of intelligence testing for high-stakes decisions about educational access and opportunity — and the ways that money, insider knowledge and privilege can manipulate that process.

But I knew less about what the research shows about a broader question: Should gifted-only programming for the youngest students exist at all and, if so, what form should it take? When New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani announced in October that he would end long-standing gifted programming for kindergartners (while preserving it for the older grades), I reached out to some leading researchers in search of answers to those questions. Read the story.

    More on gifted education

Hechinger reporter Jill Barshay, who covers education research, has written several stories about different facets of gifted education, which she captured in a column earlier this month.

In 2020, The Hechinger Report and NBC News produced a three-part series on the ways that gifted education has maintained segregation in American schools and efforts to diversify gifted classes.

    More early childhood news

Federal immigration agents pulled an infant teacher out of her classroom at a Chicago child care, pinning her arms behind her — and traumatizing the families who witnessed the incident, report Molly DeVore and Mack Liederman for Block Club Chicago.

Growing numbers of child care workers are running for elected office, hoping to work directly on behalf of change and more support for a sector that desperately needs it, writes Rebecca Gale for The 74

Colorado voters approved two sales tax levies to support child care providers and families with young children, reports Ann Schimke with Chalkbeat Colorado.

    Research quick take

Contrary to perception, there’s little evidence that an increased academic focus in the early elementary years disadvantages boys, write researchers in a new working paper published by Brown University’s Annenberg Institute. The researchers, Megan Kuhfeld and Margaret Burchinal, examined growth in reading and math test scores for a sample of 12 million students at 22,000 schools between 2016 and 2025. They found that boys are surpassing girls in math by the end of elementary school, and that girls maintain an advantage in reading through fifth grade.

This story about gifted testing was produced by The Hechinger Report, a nonprofit, independent news organization focused on inequality and innovation in education. Sign up for the Hechinger newsletter.

  • Kylie Jenner Admits It Was ‘Really Hard’ Having Kids So Young: ‘It Just Takes A Minute To Get Your F***ing Mojo Back’

    [ad_1]

Kylie Jenner is opening up about the hardships she went through after becoming a mother at 20.

    Source: Phillip Faraone / Getty

The reality star sat down with her older sister, Khloé Kardashian, for a conversation on her podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land. During the episode, Jenner spoke about being a mom to her two kids: son Aire, 3, and daughter Stormi, 7.

The Good American founder asked her sister about how she balances her personal identity with her parenting, which is when Kylie admitted that it was hard for her at first.

“I think I have a really good balance,” Kylie admitted. “I think that I definitely still feel like myself. It was really hard for me having kids so young and you’re just…the emotions, and the postpartum.”

“And probably being the only one in your circle [to have kids],” Khloé interjected.

“The only one…Yris [Palmer] and I became a lot closer. She’s a little bit older than me, we had kids together also,” Kylie continued. “But I think I did a pretty good job. I think it just takes time.”

“It took me like a year, probably, after — both times — to really feel like myself again,” Kylie said.

“I think that’s normal. I think it just takes a minute to get your f***ing mojo back,” Khloé responded.

This isn’t the first time Kylie has opened about the reality of having her kids at a young age. The Kylie Cosmetics founder, who was 20 when she had daughter Stormi, spoke with British Vogue in August 2024 about her life as a young mom.

While recalling her first pregnancy, Kylie shared, “I was 19 when I got pregnant, 20 when I had her. It was wild.”

“Looking back at it, I give myself more empathy and grace,” she continued. “But when I was a teenager, even my family were like: ‘You aren’t that young.’ I think maybe I carried myself [a certain way], or I’d already been working for 10 years. It didn’t hit me [straight away]. But it was a huge life change.”

Athletes and celebs live fast, busy, spotlight-heavy lives. They understand what it’s like to be chased by cameras, critiqued by millions, and still perform at the highest level. That shared intensity can build a unique kind of bond, but it also makes dating a tricky endeavor. Between endless travel, demanding schedules, and the constant public microscope, love can be a challenging game to win. Add cheating rumors, fan theories, and social media drama, and suddenly, even a small dinner date can become front-page news.

Still, the fascination never fades. We love watching these worlds collide as few things top the touchdowns and love songs, the courtside kisses and runway moments. These couples show us what happens when ambition meets admiration, when two people who understand the grind decide to take on the spotlight together.

From all-time icons to modern-day favorites, these pairings have defined pop culture, dominated headlines, and proven that chemistry can thrive under the brightest lights. Some are timeless, some were short-lived, but all of them left their mark. Here are athlete-celebrity couples (past and present) who prove that love, fame, and a little chaos make the perfect combination.

  • Prayers Up! NFL Player Marshawn Kneeland Dead From Apparent Suicide, Texted His Family ‘Goodbye’ Immediately Before

The NFL and the Dallas Cowboys organization are mourning the death of defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Nov. 6. He was 24.

The second-year player was involved in a police chase in the hours leading up to his untimely demise, according to PEOPLE. But his loved ones believe his struggles with mental health, compounded with the loss of his mother two months before the NFL draft last year, contributed to his tragic end. According to reports, Kneeland sent text messages to his family and girlfriend saying goodbye before taking his own life.

The rising football star recorded his first career touchdown during the Cowboys’ Monday Night Football game against the Arizona Cardinals on Nov. 3., only two days before the end of his young life. During the tense time leading up to authorities locating his vehicle after losing sight of Kneeland on the highway, his girlfriend, Catalina, spoke to 9-1-1 dispatchers about her concerns for his safety.

“She’s trying to call his agent,” a dispatcher said on the recording obtained by PEOPLE. “So we’re trying to get him to call her to call him first, but she’s saying he is armed and has a history of mental illness and her quote was, ‘He will end it all.’ ”

According to reports, attempts at communicating with Kneeland went unanswered.

After being drafted in 2024, Kneeland spoke about the unexpected passing of his mother in an interview with the Dallas Morning News.

“It was definitely tough,” he said. “I just managed it. She helped me a lot in my younger years getting into football. I always had the dream. I always told her, ‘I’m going to the NFL’ and I made it.”

The Michigan native was drafted to the Cowboys during the second round of the draft with the team’s owner, Jerry Jones, personally calling Kneeland to deliver the news.

The team dedicated a post to Kneeland on Instagram, saying,

“It is with extreme sadness that the Dallas Cowboys share that Marshawn Kneeland tragically passed away this morning. Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organization. Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawn are with his girlfriend Catalina and his family.”

Mental health issues are real for so many. With Keyshia Ka’Oir‘s latest reveal about aiding her husband, Gucci Mane, with his bipolar and schizophrenia diagnoses, she is speaking out about getting men the help they need.

“Mental health is real and those episodes are a nightmare for the person going thru it & the family members involved! My husband & I tried to raise awareness & the narrative was changed to me controlling him,” she said in a caption. “Me putting a spell on him! How DISGUSTING! WHY? All Because he’s a responsible adult who has finally accepted he has mental health issues & did something about it! Now he no longer has episodes and is in a really good space in his LIFE & it’s made fun of!!! SHAME ON YALL’!!! WE need to do better as a community! Everything is not a joke ! If u have never dealt with someone with mental health please sit this one out!”

She definitely has a point: mental health issues are very serious and can have lasting consequences for many. Our prayers are with the Kneeland family.
