    “Call Me By Your Name” director Luca Guadagnino revisits the ’80s with his muse, Timothée Chalamet, in “Bones and All,” another study of self-discovery and first love. But in a fierce and visceral metaphor for those formative teen years, the film’s protagonists connect through a common denominator that makes them feel like outsiders: They’re cannibals.

    After Maren (Taylor Russell)’s father abandons her on her 18th birthday, she sets off to find her long-absent mother. On the road, she encounters the nomadic Lee, with his tumbling curls highlighted in a DIY-ish red and cut into a wild mullet, and they couple up on a road trip. As forward-thinking and experimental teenagers, they foreshadow the more slouchy, grunge-y ’90s with their clothing choices, while their peers stick to the exaggerated shapes and bright colors of the ’80s.

    The first time Casey Cadwallader saw “Thierry Mugler: Couturissime” — the buzzy museum retrospective tracing the highly influential founding designer’s career — it was still the early days of his tenure as creative director of Mugler. (He joined the house in December 2017.)

    “To see such a tour de force of his best things all side by side made me a little bit jittery,” he says, adding with sarcasm, “I was like, ‘Oh cool, this looks easy.’”

    The exhibit first opened at the Musée des Beaux Arts de Montréal in the spring of 2019, and has since traveled to Rotterdam, Munich and Paris. “Couturissime” is making its final stop stateside at the Brooklyn Museum, from this Friday, Nov. 18 to May 7, 2023. Even now, though, that nervous, “fear-inducing” wonder is still there for Cadwallader.

    On Wednesday, the retailer announced plans to bring back the “Dap” hoodie style — but this time in a slew of new festive patterns perfect for gifting or wearing in family photos. The limited-edition drop is heavy on the plaid, which has been imagined in three different colorways: red, yellow and forest green. The fourth design features a mustard-colored houndstooth print.
