Rachael Sage Releases Unforgettable Video for Heartfelt Song ‘No Regrets’

    [ad_1]

Alt-folk-pop singer-songwriter Rachael Sage has released a heartfelt new video for “No Regrets” from her new album, The Other Side (out via MPress Records). The video premiered in M Music & Musicians (US) and Music-News (UK). Inspired by a poem written by her Dad, who Sage credits for her love of music and joie de vivre, Sage collaborated with her father to write the ultimate homage to simple gratitude. As intimate as it is universal, “No Regrets” gives thanks for the many little things that define life in all of its beautiful and aching joy, featuring Jack Petruzzelli on guitar (Rufus Wainwright) and Russ Johnson on trumpet (Elvis Costello).

Watch the video for “No Regrets” HERE.

Directed by Nick Clark and filmed by Mike Flanagan, the video captures the bond between Rachael and her Dad as they enjoy the small things that make a life – strolling through Central Park, journaling together, savoring a cold drink, and simply reveling in a loved one’s company. Sage illustrates this in the lyrics: I love life – no take-backs/Ping-pong tables knowing all the facts/College buddies drinking ice cream floats/Coal Miner’s Daughter and The Rolling Stones. Familiar scenes of NYC’s skyline are the background to this simple story of an exuberant, ping-pong-filled, and happy day in the life of a father and daughter (both of whom are in cancer remission), sharing their passion for life and creativity.

Sage discusses the song, saying: “No Regrets is the first song I’ve ever written based on someone else’s poem, and that someone happened to be my wonderful Dad. He had written a few poetic lines on a little notepad while he was recovering from lymphoma, and they were so touching to me that I didn’t ask for permission – I just started immediately setting them to music. Thankfully his health returned fully within some months, and due in large part to music. I asked him what other things he’d like me to include in the song that inspired him the most, and the list was much longer than I could ever incorporate, but ultimately he was very pleased I focused on his friendships, his affection for ping-pong and Loretta Lynn – and his strong penchant for rhyming!”

Sage’s latest studio album is the most grounded of her illustrious career. The Other Side‘s 15 tracks of emotionally charged and intricately woven music recall the classic, retro-warmth of the ’70s and ’80s, and are as instantly hummable as they are lyrically poignant. With memorable Americana-infused pop hooks and folk-fueled poeticism, Sage’s timeless writing reminds us what’s most important is always worth waiting for, via songs steeped in just the right amount of best-is-yet-to-come optimism.

The digital album, vinyl and deluxe physical CD – featuring 12 paintings by Sage, photographs by renowned Studio 54 photographer Bill Bernstein, along with a Bonus Disc of alternate mixes – can be streamed/ordered at: mpress.lnk.to/TheOtherSide

An Animated Debate: Which Feature Will Bring Home the Oscar?

    [ad_1]

This was such a good year for animation. Last year it truly boiled down to “Encanto vs. Mitchells”, but the field is wide open, so let’s run it down with the help of Vareity!

With Disney/Pixar, we have Turning Red, a critical darling. Not commercial, because Disney didn’t give it a wide release….and Lightyear and Strange World, both of which did receive wide releases, flopped, and are non-entities in this race. Turning Red, which marks the first from Pixar to be solely directed by a woman, has received critical acclaim for Shi’s depictions of female friendships and the mother-daughter relationship.

OP Note: TR is still probably my favorite film of the year.

Netflix has quite a lot, including The Sea Beast, their most successful animated film to date. There’s also My Father’s Dragon, the latest from Cartoon Saloon, which hit the platform with a mild splash. Of course, there’s Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, which is almost guaranteed to place in the nominations.

The article does not, however, mention Henry Selick’s Wendell and Wild.

OP Note: Sea Beast was fine enough, and GDT’s Pinocchio was really cool. Nice to see a multitude of stop motion available, sad W&W isn’t getting more attention.

GKIDS missed a nomination last year with Belle (tip: the soundtrack is amazing), but with Inu-Oh already being nominated for a Golden Globe, maybe they can take it all the way (and give us a US release, y/y?).

Did you, like most people, forget Dreamworks Animation had not one, but two films this year? The Bad Guys had a fairly slow rollout worldwide with it’s soft, almost Spider-verse-esque style for a bunch of criminals. It sadly seems to have sunk out of the public conciousness. Meanwhile, the sixth entry into the Shrek franchise, Puss In Boots: The Last Wish, may be 11 years too late, but it was worth the wait, with very positive reviews, and a bombastic artstyle and story that stops just short of saying memento mori.

OP Note: Ok, maybe Puss in Boots is my favorite this year?

Welcome to the animation side, A24, and welcome Marcel The Shell With Shoes On. I didn’t like it. But I’m glad another stop motion/live action hybrid is making the rounds, and is winning a lot of smaller circuits!

“When I Talk” is the fifth single to drop ahead of the album, which is expected to release in early 2023. It’s a haunting house record produced in collaboration with Elderbrook, whose feathery vocals are as aching as ever.

Stone Country Records Artist Ben Gallaher Wrangles True American Cowboy for New Video ‘Still a Few Cowboys Left’

    Press Release

    Sep 22, 2022

Stone Country Records up-and-comer Ben Gallaher puts imagery to his upcoming radio single in the video for his latest release “Still A Few Cowboys Left,” out today. Shot and directed by Bobby Wolff, Gallaher shares the spotlight with Boots O’Neal as the visual chronicles a day in the life of the legendary cowboy. The video, which premiered yesterday (9/21) with CMT.com and CMT Music, also highlights the next generation of younger cowboys — both played by ranchers’ sons — all set on a scenic Texas ranch.

Watch the official video for “Still A Few Cowboys Left” HERE

“The ‘Still a Few Cowboys Left’ music video represents the spirit of a true cowboy,” Gallaher exclusively told CMT. “This way of life is portrayed as a metaphor to highlight the character and values of a hardworking, loyal individual. This embodies the true message of the song.”

Co-written by the rising star along with hit writers Neil Thrasher and Tony Martin and produced by Neil Thrasher and Patrick Thrasher, “Still A Few Cowboys Left” — which celebrates the best of humanity — highlights the honorable characteristics a traditional cowboy represents: a focus on faith, family and hard work. Taste of Country called it a “country-rocker” and mused the “song’s urgent message resonates deep in 2022,” while The Boot praised Gallaher’s “spirited performance” in communicating “a lot of what needs to be said today” (Country Evolution).

    About Ben Gallaher:

A self-taught musician with a strong reverence for guitar masters, Ben Gallaher’s songs radiate a passion for the lyric-driven country music that influenced him as a young boy listening to his parents’ radio in small-town Pennsylvania. The burgeoning star’s vocals exude a smoky texture reflective of the backwoods bars in which the young artist honed his unbridled stagecraft, driving to the Eastern corridor to perform each weekend while pursuing a degree in Entertainment Industry Studies at Nashville’s Belmont University.

Lauded by American Songwriter magazine as “a promising young songwriter,” Gallaher has also earned a fast-growing fanbase due to his commanding guitar prowess and energetic live shows while opening for the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams Jr., Blake Shelton, 3 Doors Down, and Lee Brice, and has toured the Pennsylvania State Prisons for over a decade on his annual headlining “Prison Tour.”

Gallaher’s latest single “Still A Few Cowboys Left” was co-written by the rising star alongside chart-topping songwriters Neil Thrasher and Tony Martin. The tune — which was co-produced by Neil Thrasher and Patrick Thrasher — highlights the honorable characteristics a traditional cowboy represents: a focus on faith, family and hard work.

Wai Lana Releases ‘River of Forgiveness’ Music Video in Honor of International Day of Friendship

    [ad_1]

After watching “River of Forgiveness”, it will become clear how the message of forgiveness perfectly connects with a day centered around reconciliation and finding comfort in our close friendships

    Press Release

    Jul 30, 2022

Wai Lana’s newly released music video River of Forgiveness pays tribute to International Day of Friendship on July 30th—a day that promotes and encourages worldwide peace, happiness, and unity.

Yoga wisdom touches all aspects of our lives. After watching River of Forgiveness, it will become clear how the message of forgiveness perfectly connects with a day centered around reconciliation and finding comfort in our close friendships. Forgiveness is an integral part of friendship and our being able to live happy, peaceful, and healthy lives.

Wai Lana says, “Whether you’re mad at a family member or close friend, a neighbor, co-worker, or complete stranger, holding on to some resentment or anger towards others will cause you stress and unhappiness. Why carry the burden of anger for days on end for something you can’t change?”

Everyone will be able to relate to many of the scenarios Wai Lana sings about in River of Forgiveness. While it calls attention to the unhappiness caused by holding on to anger, the song maintains a playful, uplifting tone—transporting viewers to a place of peace, joy, and lightheartedness. Simultaneously entertaining and meditative, River of Forgiveness can be watched again and again.

Wai Lana concluded, “My hope is that viewers will find both inspiration and some relief from the heavy burden of anger, and that it will bring friends and loved ones even closer together. Not everything in life is in our control, but each of us has the power to forgive. If we wish to hold onto anger, that is our freedom, but we cannot expect the fruits of peace and happiness to flourish among the weeds of anger and resentment”

Yoga Icon Wai Lana Promotes Environmental Stewardship With New ‘She Speaks Sign Language’ Music Video

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    updated: Jun 21, 2021

Much to the delight of fans, Wai Lana has again chosen International Yoga Day to release her latest music video. She Speaks Sign Language is a visual masterpiece that showcases the stunning beauty and power of the planet we inhabit. Wai Lana leads viewers on a mesmerizing adventure exploring the splendor of expansive deserts, glistening ice caves, lush flowery meadows, and high mountain peaks. Viewers may recognize iconic and ancient attractions, such as China’s Great Wall and India’s Kusum Sarovar.

Wai Lana explained, “We carefully chose a variety of settings for this music video, beyond just places of natural beauty. I wanted to do something out of the ordinary and, after all, man-made structures are also part of the landscape of this planet. Whether in the city, wilderness, or on the seas, we can each choose to live harmoniously with Mother Earth.”

With this new music video, Wai Lana hopes to honor & give voice to Mother Earth, to help amplify the importance of protecting our environment. “She Speaks Sign Language is my attempt to encourage others to protect our planet,” she said. By building on the growing environmental awareness of recent years, Wai Lana hopes her new music video will contribute, even if in a small way, to fostering environmental stewardship around the world.

She Speaks Sign Language fosters an appreciation of our dependence on Mother Earth and provides a glimpse of the dire consequences of not living in harmony with nature. With provocative lyrics such as, “… how do we treat our dear mother? Do we throw her to the ground?” Wai Lana reinforces the message that it is our duty to act as caretakers of this planet, just as we are naturally respectful and caring of our own mother.

Regarding the planning and production of She Speaks Sign Language, Wai Lana said, “The overwhelming amount of content I wanted to convey made it extremely challenging. Even after I was satisfied with the lyrics, there was still too much material to fit with my favorite style of music. Fortunately, I work with some very talented musicians, and we discovered that electronic music, a new style of music for me, went perfectly with the lyrics.”

Wai Lana continued, “I then had to take all my visual ideas and arrange the music video to support the dynamic music and lyrical content in a way that was captivating and entertaining. I knew that if the arrangement wasn’t just right, it might come across as too serious or even depressing. It was like putting together an intricate puzzle. I’m very excited about how it all came together and, in the end, I’m hoping we achieved something that people will want to watch over and over and want to share far and wide.”

Wai Lana is credited with helping pioneer the modern-day yoga movement with her Wai Lana Yoga TV series—the longest-running fitness series in the history of public television. The genuine care she has for others shines through in everything Wai Lana produces, and this latest music video is no exception. She Speaks Sign Language is the first song Wai Lana has produced since the recent release of her Songs for the Soul album. Songs for the Soul includes Wai Lana’s six previous Yoga Day releases, Namaste, Alive Forever, Colors, Beyond Time & Space, & Lay Me Down and are available on most popular music streaming services.

The International Association of Women (IAW) is a global in-person and online networking platform with nearly one million members, 1000+ in person and virtual events, over 100 Local US based Chapters and International Chapters in several cities in China.

“I’m pleased to welcome Michell into this exceptional group of professional women,” said IPDN President and IAW Spokesperson Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”

A resident of Las Vegas, NV, Michell Rebel Reyes saw the need for an entertainment company that catered to the needs of women, particularly those in the LGBTQ community. “Here in Las Vegas, everything is mostly for men,” she said. “For example, there is not one LGBTQ women’s bar or a space for women to hold their events; everything has to be shared with the men and their spaces.”

So, two years ago, Ms. Reyes founded REBELMC ENTERTAINMENT LLC, which provides themed pool and club parties, venues for all functions, party buses to local areas, and more, for women. “I promote it as being a safe environment for women and one that does not exploit them,” she said. As the Sole Owner and President, Ms. Reyes is responsible for all aspects of the business, including customer service, sales, marketing and promotion.

“I am an MC (Mistress of All Events) and also a VJ/DJ,” she explained. “I am able to MC the events and also VJ/DJ the parties.” In addition to playing the music and showing music videos on a screen, Ms. Reyes ensures the correct sayings, such as personalized birthday greetings, flash across the screen as the video plays.

Although getting a company up and running is costly and a lot of work, Ms. Reyes is rewarded by the fact that she provides her clients with entertainment in a fun and safe environment. An active member of the LGBTQ community, she was a member of a committee in Chicago that brought the first Gay Games to the city. “I also started the Las Vegas Gay Chapter and got funding for it from one of the major credit card companies that I used to work for,” Ms. Reyes said. “I was also the VP of the Betty’s Outrageous Adventure, which is the largest LGBTQ women’s club here in Las Vegas with a membership of over 3,000 members. My future goal is to have the first LGBTQ women’s restaurant and nightclub in Las Vegas.”
