Nordstrom Predicted I’d Love These Picks, and I’m Freaking Out—They’re So Good

    [ad_1]

As a fashion and market editor, I have been shopping professionally for years. As a result, I’ve developed a well-trained eye and know all the ins and outs of hunting down the coolest pieces in person and online. This isn’t always easy and can be very time-consuming. So when I came across two sections on the Nordstrom site that can predict what pieces I’d love, my mind was a little blown at how spot-on the suggestions were.

To try this for yourself, head to the Nordstrom homepage and log into your account. (It’s super easy to create one if you have yet to do so.) Next, look for the Picks for You section on the homepage and peruse the stylish personalized selections. From there, scroll down to the Great Deals on What You Love section. Here, the site compiles a list of sale picks that are similar to other items you’ve looked at in the past.

Keep scrolling to check out all the stylish picks that Nordstrom suggested during my last visit to the site, from chic dresses and standout sweaters to cool jeans and trendy shoes. Honestly, I want every last piece.

The Skirt Fashion People Are Wearing Now and Will Continue Wearing in the Fall

    [ad_1]

It’s always been wild to me how long we’ve held on to the age-old idea of no longer wearing white after Labor Day. To see this rule fall by the wayside as of late has been a much-welcome change. One trending piece, in particular, is the perfect example of this: white maxi skirts. All summer, there hasn’t been a day I didn’t scroll past some iteration of the style while on Instagram—It’s clear the fashion crowd will continue wearing these skirts straight into fall.

With the help of warmer layers (sweaters, jackets, etc.) and fall-ready shoe styles (sneakers, boots, etc.), a long white skirt can easily become a chic transitional piece. That said, there’s no need to store your own just yet. Keep scrolling to check out my favorite white maxi skirt outfits and to shop each look. From tiered pieces to slinky slip styles, there is an option to fit every personal style.

  • I Live In Midi and Maxi Skirts—30 Under-$150 Finds Too Good Not to Share

I Live In Midi and Maxi Skirts—30 Under-$150 Finds Too Good Not to Share

    [ad_1]

Summer 2023 is all about a good skirt. A midi or maxi skirt, to be particular. It’s time for miniskirts to move over and for the rise of longer hemlines to commence. As someone on the shorter side, I have always leaned toward a miniskirt (If I’m honest, I’m trying to stretch out the little amount of leg I have). But maxi and midi skirts have been my go-to lately. Whether I want a more dressed-up look for the weekend or am styling an outfit for the office, I’m all about a great maxi or midi skirt. My favorite thing about maxi and midi skirts is how versatile they are.

You can pair them with your favorite white tank or baby tee, sneakers, and cool sunglasses and look super put together or dress them up with a strapless top and kitten heels. Midi and maxi skirts are perfect for chic summer dressing, whether that means date night, happy hour, a day at the park, or going to the office. While building my midi and maxi skirt collection, I wanted to focus on affordable options that would work with pieces I already had in my closet. I found 30 midi and maxi skirts that checked all my boxes and happened to be under $150.

Keep scrolling to see which affordable and chic midi and maxi skirts I can’t wait to wear this summer.

    I’m 5’2″ and Obsessed With the Maxi-Skirt Trend—Here’s Why

    [ad_1]

If you thought all trends were created equal, think again. Some are ultra-wearable, and others look like they were made only to be posted on Instagram. Some are accessible at a range of prices, and others can often feel out of reach. Some trends come around and last for seasons upon seasons, while others fizzle out before you even considered buying in. And of course, some flatter my petite 5’2″ frame, and others are off the table!

If that last sentence resonated with you, stick with me for a minute. The maxi-skirt trend not only suits us petite folks but also checks all the above boxes and more. • The 2022 Anti-Trend Pieces I’m Ditching for Their 2023 Replacements

The 2022 Anti-Trend Pieces I’m Ditching for Their 2023 Replacements

    [ad_1]

I am in the midst of updating my closet this season, which just so happens to be filled with a plethora of anti-trend pieces. With my serious dedication to classic style, I can’t help but reach for effortless options each season that can (for the most part) stand the test of time. My goal is always to put together a set of key staples that I know I will wear over and over again. Even so, it feels like it’s time to store, sell, or donate, some old staples to make room for fresh additions.

In most of these cases, I am looking to make the simplest of updates. For instance, I have been a huge fan of the boxy oversize blazer for some time now, but lately, I am craving a more tailored blazer that cinches in right at the waist. In the skirt department, I am taking a break from midi lengths to wear ankle-grazing maxi styles inspired by ’90s throwbacks. Keep scrolling to check out four anti-trend favorites that have served me well and what I am swapping them out for this season.

  • This Trend Changed My Winter Outfit Rotation, Now It’s All I Want to Wear

This Trend Changed My Winter Outfit Rotation, Now It’s All I Want to Wear

    [ad_1]

Dressing for the cold means breaking out a lot of fun fashion things: fur-lined boots, heavy-duty coats, and obnoxiously oversized scarves, (the list goes on…). But until very recently skirts were notably missing from my winter wardrobe. Yes, stockings and tights do exist, but sometimes dealing with runs and nicks leads to more hassle than relief. And honestly, neither comes close to matching the insulating capacity of actually wearing pants. Thank goodness the widespread revival of maxi skirts has led me to better options.

Thinking back, I’ve never really given them the credit they deserved—midi skirts have dominated my closet since 2013. Now that I’m firmly on board the floor-length skirt train (Saint Laurent is largely to blame), my winter outfit rotation has changed dramatically. My November to March outfits aren’t only relegated to pants and their many forms. Style a long skirt with tights and knee boots and you have triple the protection against the chill. The annoyance of cold legs during a walk around the city is not longer a factor.

For all of the stylish maxi skirts making a difference in my winter style, keep scrolling below. Also included: are some outfit inspiration and a few staples they go really well with (hint, hint: knee boots and cropped sweaters).
