    Compared to traditional range hoods, the AirHood™ can be taken anywhere, is incredibly easy to clean with its two detachable filters, and can be easily stored away when not in use. Its activated charcoal filter draws in cooking fumes from evaporated oils and fats, which are detrimental to long-term health and can prevent the oily film which develops on kitchen surfaces, as well as minimize lingering odors from cooking.

With a prototype already in place, HAI has launched a Kickstarter campaign to make the technology available to everyone.

    CubeSats are a type of miniaturized satellite typically used for space research. The CubeSat industry has rapidly grown over the last several years, and new general applications are arising as costs for space exploration drop. Hoge Aerospace Institute is building a CubeSat with the capacity to take pictures of itself in low earth orbit, dubbed the Hogesat-1. Individuals will have the opportunity to purchase and send up images of their choice to be displayed in space. 

    “The aim in doing so is to provide the common person a platform to engage with Space Technology in an engaging manner,” states Laith Harbawi, Chief Operations Officer at Hoge Aerospace Institute. It features an outboard display, a camera, and an optical system so that anyone can have their photo displayed with space or the earth as a background. The satellite then snaps a selfie with this photo and beams it back to earth. The communications protocols, optical system, and even ruggedization of the display are exploratory work that will be used for more practical applications of CubeSat technologies.

    Hoge Aerospace Institute has partnered with the College of Charleston in South Carolina to accelerate their space program. The team of engineers and coders led by atmospheric scientist and software developer, Joseph Niehaus, have created a prototype to showcase these applications.

    The HAI team is based out of Charleston, SC. Joseph Niehaus is the Founder and CEO with a background as a software developer and atmospheric scientist. Samuel Joseph, the Chief Integration Officer, is an expert in deep space analytics and blockchain integration. Chief Business Director Nukunu Kwesi Sackey has a business background and a proven record of startup success and the COO, Laith Harbawi has a dual doctorate with degrees in Astronomy and Quantum Physics.     The company will use proceeds of the Kickstarter campaign to launch a line of wood components — beginning with the Semi Exact DIY Box Frame Bed Kit — to be manufactured at its headquarters at the base of the Sierra in Minden, Nev.

    “We’ve served nearly 100,000 customers who turned to Semi Exact in the past five years for metal furniture legs, shelf brackets and other components to create their own furniture,” said Elton Rivas, one of the company’s co-founders. “Many of them asked us to provide wood options as well for beds, tabletops, desks, chairs and cabinets. We’re thrilled to take this major step to meet their requests.”

    Matt Jensen, the other co-founder of Semi Exact, noted the company has built a reputation for exceptional quality, and the new woodworking facility will continue to meet those high standards.

    “We believe in a simple path forward for furniture, one that’s rooted in quality, timeless design and the desire in each of us to create a better story, with meaning and intention, behind what we live with,” Jensen said.

    With clean lines and refined touches, the Semi Exact DIY Box Frame Bed Kit brings sweet dreams to everyone from craftspeople who want to create their own bed to makers who have limited tools and space and want to assemble cut-to-size components created from Baltic birch. 

    Backers of the Kickstarter campaign will receive rewards ranging from recognition on a photo board at the Semi Exact’s headquarters in Nevada to packages of components for Semi Exact beds. Top backers — $5,000 or more — will be flown to Nevada for a personal tour of the company’s factory followed by a day of skiing or snowboarding at a nearby ski resort.

    Semi Exact plans to begin shipments of the new Box Frame Bed next spring.

In creating more realistic adult simulations, game creators are beginning to push the boundaries of what is possible for gaming while exploring what mainstream markets will accept. And at game development hub Candy Valley Network, the team is hoping to crack the code of sensuality and gaming to make its game Wild Life the first mainstream indie adult game.

    Wild Life creators describe the game as leading players through a world of wild encounters. Players lead Maya or Max through exploring the lush, wild planet Kerpal, while for all of its beauty, holds hidden dangers at every turn. Maya is a descendant of the planet’s inhabitants who survived the crash of their colonist ship eons ago, and since then adapted to its dangers. Sometimes these adaptations mean they have become dangerous themselves. Max is part of an expedition to Kerpal led by a group of explorers, but some have darker motivations.

    Max and Maya must navigate these dark natural and human challenges as they determine who they can trust and whose animalistic instincts have gotten the better of them, posing grave danger to them and others on Kerpal.

    In an immersive RPG environment, Wild Life gives players the opportunity to engage in visually stunning combat and even more stunning interactions, with details never seen before in a gaming environment.

    With its rich, immersive experiences, Wild Life seeks to break the mold in gaming. As Max and Maya explore Kerpal, players simultaneously experience the desires of the lead characters, driving their interactions with a diverse cast of characters, both human and animalistic.

    Wild Life is currently securing funds via crowdsourcing platforms Kickstarter and Patreon to bring the project to full production. As development continues, the game is available on Patreon for PC play in two modes, Demo and Sandbox. Patreon community members gain access to various aspects of the game in development by contributing to the process. The team hopes to launch mainstream and worldwide.

    Thus far, the demo cut has been met with rave reviews from supporters and industry influencers for its rich, immersive gaming environment and stunning, realistic graphics.

    Phone Toaster uses proven UV-C light technology to effectively and quickly kill bacteria and viruses. Its unique UV-C light configuration covers over 99.9% of the phone’s surface with ultraviolet light. Its closed-lid sanitization chamber can accommodate any phone up to 80.8mm x 172.3mm x 11.9mm, large enough for an iPhone 11 Pro Max or Galaxy S20 Ultra.

    A seasoned financial coach, Chris Jackson is known for his financial management skills and strategies. He has been using his pro bono platform to provide free financial planning to members of the military and first responders. Considered a visionary by peers and clients, Chris Jackson’s strength lies in his ability to see the big picture, identify gaps and employ creative solutions to get people’s finances on track.

    Chris Jackson was fortunate to have a friend whose father was a police officer that practically took him in as his own during a tough time in his life. He also personally saw the effects of PTSD and how it affected his military friends that came back from the Middle East.

    Chris Jackson discovered that access to expert financial advice is limited to those with certain asset minimums or with higher income. This means living first responders and the military are on their own when making critical personal finance decisions.     Chris Jackson is currently assisting Brandon Byler and Matt Ruggiero, two police officers, produce their first board game called Code 3, which launches tomorrow at noon, and Chris hopes those looking to give back will go to the Kickstarter campaign to help back the project.     Norman’s Architecture Adventure, a children’s book that celebrates diversity in the architecture field, has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.

    “Norman’s Architecture Adventure” is about a young African-American boy who wants to be an architect like his mom. She is his inspiration and best friend but he gets restless one day when she is busy working and he wants to explore. His curiosity gets the better of him as he sets out on his own into the unknown, meets new friends, and learns that having an imagination is the greatest adventure anyone can have.

    This book was inspired by my friend who is one of the youngest female African-American architects in the United States. The story subtly challenges gender and racial roles while celebrating a child’s innocence and imagination. I hope it can be part of a larger movement to encourage greater diversity in the profession I love.

    “There has never been a sunhat like the Shapeshifter before. Necessity was certainly the mother of this invention. However, the magnitude of this threat is often overlooked by many outdoor-loving consumers. No significant advancements have been made in recreational sun protection technology for years.

    Via his new one man company “Roamin Republic LLC,” Damien was pleased to announce the pending release and Kickstarter launch of the latest revolutionary product in personal sun protection. “The Shapeshifter Sunhat.”

    The Shapeshifter is a bendable, shape-able, crush-able, durable, super portable, machine washable, waterproof, extra wind resistant, wide-brimmed sunhat.

    Although sun hats already exist in the market, they are not fully adequate. Wide-brimmed hats that have softer brims lose their shape very quickly and blow into or out of the face in the wind. Also, using them for facial rain protection results in the soft brim buckling, and more often than not, warping the hat’s shape for good.

    Stiff, rigid sunhats (such as those utilized by many outdoor workers) are great in the wind, but are heavy and impossible to collapse for easy storage and transport.

    If the brim has a thin cable support, it’s similarly not compactable, and is still pretty useless in the wind.

    A Better Solution

    Damien searched for and finally discovered the best way to get a strong, bendable, shape-able, resilient and waterproof cable into the brim of a high-quality sunhat.

    Originally designed for the demanding needs of photographers, the UNO II can safely hold a variety of items and accessories while still allowing fast and full access. The special needs of photographers inspired the design team to create a backpack that would be perfect for anyone and fit a variety of applications. To do so, they created modular interchangeable interior panels that could instantly customize the UNO II for the different needs of their users.

    Each UNO II features a standard work panel insert that fits snugly inside the pack and is perfect for business people, office workers and students on the go. This padded panel holds a laptop securely and includes an additional pocket for mobile phones and small items.

    The add-on camera panel insert is the perfect solution for the photographer on the go and is perfectly suited to protect a DSLR camera, tripod, and accessories. The sports panel insert is made to keep gym clothes and gear separate from other items in the pack and cleverly becomes its own mini pack with comfortable elastic straps. Finally, the art panel is designed with students and creatives in mind and has a pocketed and zippered interior insert for art or drawing supplies.

    All of this functionality didn’t come at the sacrifice of style either. The UNO II is constructed in a modern urban design that is the lightweight and low profile. The single heavy duty zipper has full-metal pulls and the pack has hidden exterior pockets for quick access items. The water repellent eco-poly fabric is scuff and wear resistant and is available in charcoal, gray, or pink to fit any style, outfit or occasion.
