    Kartik Aaryan, Karisma Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor were seen at the Mumbai airport. Kartik was, as usual, looking handsome in his casual outfit that included a full-sleeved white t-shirt paired with charcoal black ripped denim jeans. He completed his look with black sunglasses, a black backpack and white sports shoes.

    Meanwhile, Karisma Kapoor was all smiles as she got clicked at the airport. The actress was donning a casual look featuring an orange coloured sweater paired with black trousers. She kept her hair open and completed her attire with black ballerinas, a huge black handbag and oversized sunglasses.

    Janhvi Kapoor was looking chic in her mauve pant suit paired with a white cropped top and a black and white handbag.

    RRR song Naatu Naatu lyricist Chandrabose expresses joy on winning BL Awards 2023

    The world has been grooving to the RRR song Naatu Naatu. The song made India proud by winning at Oscars 2023. It won the Best Original Song at the Academy Awards and also at the Golden Globe Awards. And that is not all, back home, the song won the BollywoodLife.com Awards 2023. Nominated in the Best Song – South category, the song was a clear winner with the maximum votes from fans and the celeb jury. The song is composed by M. M. Keeravani, penned by Chandrabose and rendered by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. Picturised on two of the biggest Telugu stars, Jr NTR and Ram Charan, song has been a rage ever since the teasers went out even before RRR release. Expressing joy over the latest win, lyricist Chandrabose expressed, “BollywoodLife.com has awarded the best song Award to Naatu Naatu. I am very excited and happy. Winning BollywoodLife.com Award right after the Oscars is special. I would like to thank BollywoodLife.com, jury and fans.”

    The celebrated lyricist was still in the US when he heard the news of the big win at BL Awards 2023 and he sent us a heartfelt voice note expressing joy and gratitude. The other songs that were nominated in the Best Song categories along with Naatu Naatu are Megham Karukatha from Thiruchitrambalam, Naatu Naatu from RRR, O Sita from Sita Ramam. The other winners in the South Cinema categories are Best Actor: Rishab Shetty for Kantara, Best Actress: Mrunal Thakur for Sita Ramam, Best Director: Vipin Das for Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, Best Supporting Role: Murali Sharma for Godfather, Best Film: Kantara and Best Song: Naatu Naatu from RRR.

In the reel video, the lead pair, Kriti and Kartik are seen sipping a soft drink as they began shooting for the song amidst weird weather – which was basically a mix of piercing sun light and occasional raining.

    Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan has created havoc at the box office! The star-studded action flick has brought fans back to the theatres and is enjoying a successful run by raking in historic box-office numbers. The film that released on January 25, 2023, has reportedly earned about Rs 543 crore (worldwide figures) at the global box office, and has been garnering a great response. Now, out of respect for Pathaan and the business that it is doing at the box office, the makers of Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Shehzada have decided to postpone the film’s release date.     

    Kartik Aaryan starrer Shehzada gets a new release date

    Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Shehzada, directed by Rohit Dhawan, was earlier slated to release during the Valentine’s Day weekend i.e. on February 10, 2023. However, the makers have announced that out of respect for Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan, Shehzada will now release on 17th February 2023. Apart from Kartik Aaryan ans Kriti Sanon, Shehzada also stars Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, Ronit Roy, Rajpal Yadav and Sachin Khedekar. It is an adaptation of Allu Arjun’s 2020 Telugu hit, Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo, which also starred Tabu.

    Dr Freddy Ginwala (Kartik Aaryan), is an extremely shy and introverted dentist who has suffered emotional trauma in childhood. He has put up a profile on Meri Shaadi.com for five years but hasn’t been able to find a soulmate so far and has been the butt of jokes because of that. A chance encounter with Kainaaz Irani (Alaya F) changes all that. She’s been caught in an abusive marriage and her fragility draws Freddy to her. She grows from being a patient to a clandestine lover. Freddy has now become obsessed with her and is willing to push any button to get her permanently in his life. He would go as far as murder if need be. But there’s more to her than meets the eye. The love story segues into the thriller category in the second half and soon it becomes a game of wits between the various players and the police as well.

    The film is a slow burner for sure. A lot of time is spent building up Freddy’s character. He’s shown to be most comfortable around his tools, losing himself in his job and earning the trust of his patients. But he just isn’t a people’s person outside his clinic. He’s socially awkward and can’t seem to have any sort of a relationship, with a man or a woman. His best friend is a turtle named Hardy. Add to that, he’s a hopeless romantic at heart. So when he turns into a stalker, you don’t abhor him. He actually earns your sympathy. You want him to stop what he’s being doing as you feel he’s too naive to know the ways of the world. You want to warn him that he’s walking into a trap. Freddy might be slow but he isn’t daft. He sets about planning his revenge with clinical precision, keeping two steps ahead of everyone else in the film. It’s this Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde dichotomy that’s so interesting to see in the film. From a meek dentist, Freddy slowly turns into Dexter and that transformation is intriguing to watch.

    There’s a monster hiding behind the skin of every man and left unprovoked, it won’t do any harm. But poke it enough and it’ll come out for sure. That’s the film’s story in a nutshell. The film hinges on Karik Aaryan’s performance and he doesn’t disappoint. He sinks himself deep into his character and makes his good-boy-next-door image work in his favour. The drama comes through his quirks and eccentricities. He slowly breaks apart and it’s when he begins to pick up the pieces and reshapes himself that the movie comes through. The film is his attempt to showcase his versatility and he’s done so admirably. Alaya F has managed to look both vulnerable and cunning in the film. She’s shown here that she has the ability to deliver a performance and isn’t just a pretty face.

    Shashanka Ghosh is a maverick director who has shown a yen to be different from his first film, Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II (2003) itself. He’s in his element here and has borrowed heavily from Hitchcockian tropes and noir elements to mould a tale of muddled desires and edgy characters who look most human when they’re being inhuman.

    Synopsis: A twisted take on love, loneliness and revenge. Freddy is a psychological thriller that sees the player and the one who got played indulge in a dangerous cat and mouse game. This race blurs the line between the victim and the villain.

    Review: Haunted by a childhood trauma, Dr Freddy Ginwala (Kartik Aaryan) lives a fairly monotonous but comfortable life in Mumbai. He is a respected dentist but a lonely guy in his 30’s who has no one to call his own. With no friends except for a tortoise, no lover or parents, he craves companionship. His need borders on desperation as year after year, he gets stood up on dates, mocked and humiliated for his socially awkward existence and shamed for trying his luck with the ladies. Despite his professional success and empathy for those in need, Freddy is perceived as a loser. Things take a drastic turn when he spots Kainaaz (Alaya F) at a wedding. Bitten by the love at first sight bug, Freddy musters up courage and approaches her only to be punched by her husband. The film takes a dramatic turn thereon as a major twist unravels.

    Freddy’s thoughts can resonate with Arthur Fleck who wondered, “Is it just me, or is it getting crazier out there?” For director Shashanka Ghosh and writer Parveez Shaikh, Freddy must be Joker (2019) in spirit and Ek Hasina Thi (2004) in execution. You even see Kartik playing the imaginary violin and breaking into Joaquin Phoenix-esque creepy dance moves. The suspense and sinister energy around Freddy is finely mounted, making you immerse in his story. Atmospherics add to the tension established. The latter half however feels sloppy and juvenile. Once the mystery dies down, the psychological thriller turns into a mundane revenge drama that isn’t as gratifying as the initial premise.

    It’s good to see that Hindi cinema is warming up to psychological-crime thrillers. The highlight of the film is Kartik Aaryan’s terrific unnerving performance. He is an absolute revelation as Freddy, a wronged man obsessed in love, seething rage and yet calm as a cucumber. The actor has altered his weight, body language, gaze and that trademark smile to play Freddy and the efforts pay off. You will think twice before heading to your dentist, thanks to Kartik and his sociopathic portrayal of the lead character. Alaya F does little to make her presence felt.

    Freddy is fairly engaging and unsettling but it wavers to go all out. The film starts off well but doesn’t reach its full potential. It skims through issues of mental health, childhood trauma and its impact on an individual, something that deserved a deeper understanding. You can watch this for Kartik though and his successful brave attempt.

Her post has left fans rooting for SarTik as they loved their onscreen pairing.     Kartik and Sara crossed path with each other after the latter confessed to having a crush on Kartik on Koffee With Karan in 2018. After their breakup, the duo have become cordial with each other after a long time and have been spotted exchanging pleasantaries on various occasions.

    Meanwhile, reports have been doing the rounds that Sara is currently dating cricketer Shubman Gill. The two have been spotted together on their secret dinner dates a couple of times. Recently, when Shubman was asked about his dating rumours with Sara, he cheekily answered the question saying, ‘Maybe, or maybe not.’ His statements have added more fuel to the fire.

    Kartik Aaryan was last seen in Anees Bazmee’s horror-comedy film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Kiara Advani and Tabu in the lead. The actor is currently gearing up for the release of his much-anticipated film, Freddy. It also features Alaya F in the lead and is helmed by Shashanka Ghosh. Freddy is slated to release on December 2 on Disney+ Hotstar. In the film, Kartik will be essaying the role of Dr. Freddy Ginwala, a dentist by profession, while, Alaya plays Kainaaz.

    Kartik Aaryan unveils song Tum Jo Milo

    Now, the makers of Freddy have unveiled the second track titled Tum Jo Milo, which shows his ‘love and obsession’ with Alaya. Sharing the music video on social media, Kartik captioned it: “A song of #Freddy‘s Love and Obsession. Presenting the soulful #TumJoMilo !!” Tum Jo Milo’s music is composed by Pritam, vocals by Abhijeet Srivastava, and the lyrics have been penned by Irshad Kamil. Produced under the Balaji Telefilms and Northern Lights Films banners. 




    Kartik Aaryan’s work front

    Apart from this, his upcoming projects include Satyaprem Ki Katha, in which, he will reunite with Kiara Advani, which is slated to hit the theatres on June 29th, 2023. Next, Kartik will then be seen in Shehzada opposite Kriti Sanon. The film is helmed by David Dhawan’s son Rohit Dhawan and is slated to release on February 10, 2023. It is the official Hindi remake of Allu Arjun’s Telugu blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The action film also stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Ronit Roy, and Sachin Khedekar. 

    He has also been cast in Anurag Basu’s musical drama Aashiqui 3. Kartik will collaborate with Hansal Mehta in the social drama Captain India, in which he will play an airforce officer. The Pyaar Ka Punchnama actor will also be a part of Hera Pheri 3 with Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal. However, an official confirmation about his role is yet to be made.
