As one would expect from another Eric Kripke series set in the universe of The Boys, Gen V proved that, in doing as wrong as possible, you can truly do no wrong.
Indeed, like its parent series, the outrageously vulgar Gen V managed to wrack up prestige in both the popularity and critical response camps, and a second season was on the docket almost immediately after the series premiere.
When we last left the Gen V gang, the inter-student battle between Marie (Jaz Sinclair) and Cate (Maddie Phillips) was cut short by the ever-imposing Homelander (Antony Starr). Marie, alongside Emma (Lizze Broadway), Andre (Chance Perdomo), and Jordan (London Thor and Derek Luh), wakes up in a hospital bed to the news that their ex-friends Cate and Sam (Asa Germann), who led the violent on-campus revolt that the four of them were trying to stop, were being hailed as heroes. Just another day of Vought International’s truth-butchering.
Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing what’s up next for Marie and the gang for quite some time, and the reason for that is nothing short of devastating.
Is there a Gen V season two release date?
The cast was due to begin table reads of the second season on April 8, but the show’s production was put on an indefinite hold following the death of Chance Perdomo this past weekend as a result of a motorcycle accident.
In other words, there’s no telling at this point if season two of Gen V will even happen; Andre isn’t a character that can be easily written out of the show, and the topic of recasting is always a touchy subject. Either way, given how recent these events were, it’s safe to say we won’t—nor should we—be getting any answers soon as Perdomo’s family, friends, and coworkers continue to navigate this untimely tragedy.
Rumor has it that the long-awaited sequel to the cult classic The Goonies is in development.
It has been almost 40 years since The Goonies premiered and proved to be a major critical and commercial success. The adventure comedy follows the story of four boys—Mikey (Sean Astin), Chunk (Jeff Cohen), Mouth (Corey Feldman), and Data (Ke Huy Quan)—who discover a pirate map while trying to save their homes from foreclosure and set out on an adventure to find a hidden treasure.
Even nearly 40 years later, the movie remains charming, energetic, and nostalgic for audiences of all ages. However, the film’s lasting legacy and success have led to questions repeatedly arising of why there was never a Goonies 2.
For decades, the status of The Goonies 2 continuously changed as the cast gave conflicting reports on whether it was in development and who was or wasn’t interested in returning. Finally, in 2014, director Richard Donner confirmed the sequel was officially in the works, and that he was trying to bring back the majority of the original cast.
However, Donner later also claimed he was going to direct a fifth Lethal Weapon movie, which many expected to be his last project given that he was nearing retirement. When Donner passed away in 2021, this seemed to confirm that The Goonies 2 would never happen, as it was unclear if the cast would return without him. Still, rumors have persisted that the movie could still happen.
Will The Goonies 2 ever happen?

Recently, rumors that The Goonies 2 was in development resurfaced. It’s likely that the rumors began to stir due to April Fool’s Day pranks, including one that claimed The Goonies: Curse of the One-Eyed Willy was coming to theaters in 2026, directed by Sam Raimi.

For now, there is no official confirmation that The Goonies 2 is in development. Still, the chances of a sequel will likely never completely die. After all, Ke Huy Quan, who recently returned to the big screen to critical acclaim, has revealed that he is still open to reprising his role as Data if the sequel ever becomes a reality. However, he also revealed that, despite the movie allegedly entering development multiple times, no scripts were actually ever written for it. Other stars, such as Corey Feldman and Sean Astin, have also expressed openness to the sequel while still admitting it likely won’t ever happen.
Ultimately, there is no evidence that The Goonies 2 is happening, but the possibility of there being a sequel someday still remains.

3 Body Problem is the latest sci-fi TV show creating waves online, with an alien invasion storyline capturing audiences’ imaginations. Starring Rosalind Chao, Eiza González, Benedict Wong, and Jonathan Pryce, among others, the Netflix series is loosely based on the Chinese novel of the same name by Liu Cixin.
The D.B. Weiss, David Benioff, and Alexander Woo-created series premiered on March 21 and has been the No. 1 series on Netflix U.S. ever since. However, audiences might be confused about how the show ended, and the book’s ending might help answer some of their questions.
***SPOILER ALERT: This post spoils the ending of the book and the first season.***
At the end of the 3 Body Problem, the readers find out that the Trisolarans have sent the Sophones to hamper humans’ study of advanced physics (for the uninitiated, Sophones are proton-sized supercomputers that possess the ability to intercept all forms of human communication). The Trisolarans can do this because they have access to technology that can open multidimensional space at a sub-atomic level.
They are specifically able to hinder mankind’s scientific advancement by tampering with the results of subatomic research, which in turn can help humans go toe to toe with the Trisolaran multidimensional technology. The aforementioned tactic by the Trisolarans points towards the fact that they don’t want humans to have competing technology once they invade.
However, there is one major difference between the book and the TV show: the Trisolarans (so named in the book because these aliens have a star system with three suns) are actually referred to as ‘San Ti’ in the Netflix series. As per the show, ‘San Ti’ means “three-bodied person” in Chinese, although in real life, it alludes to the 22-23 anime adaptation of Dark Forest (based on the second book of the trilogy).
Considering there are 3 books in the Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy (3 Body Problem, The Dark Forest, and Death’s End), fans can probably expect a 3 season run for the series. Netflix hasn’t commissioned the second season yet, but the show creators recently hinted at getting pre-production up and running once they get the green light from the streaming giant.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon took Norman Reedus’ Daryl to France to fight off some walkers overseas. (And with a mace, no less.) Now that season 2 is promising a reunion between Daryl and his girl Carol (Melissa McBride) we want to know when to expect it.
The season, which is titled The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol brings together Carol Peletier and Daryl after being separated by an entire ocean. To be fair, this is the show that fans were promised at the start of this all so to finally have them reuniting is kind of a big deal.
In a teaser trailer released back when the news broke about McBride’s return at New York Comic-Con in 2023, we see Carol searching for Daryl and fighting off walkers on her way to him. Back in October, it said that the series would come out in 2024 but the question is when will that happen?
In an Instagram story, Reedus confirmed that the series was set to have a summer release date! That is a pretty quick turnaround for Walking Dead fans as The Ones Who Live is set to conclude on March 31st and we will seemingly only have a few months before The Book of Carol kicks off.
It is an exciting time to be a fan of this franchise, especially with McBride and Reedus back in action together.

Carol and Daryl have been close since the show’s beginnings. When Carol’s daughter Sophia went missing, Daryl took it upon himself to try and find her. Yes, she ended up being a walker by the time they found her again but Daryl’s action really seemed to strike a chord with Carol and their already sweet dynamic became an important stepping stone for the rest of the show and how these characters all need each other.
When the Carol and Daryl show of our dreams ended up becoming just about Daryl, many of us longed for their reunion. Luckily, the ending of season 2 set up a perfect journey for Carol to embark on. So, as of now, we just know that a summer release is coming for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol and we cannot wait!

Death, like horror franchise sequels, comes for us all. The sixth installment of the Final Destination franchise, titled Final Destination: Bloodlines, is finally in production.
Bloodlines will be directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein (Freaks, Kim Possible) and written by Guy Busick (Scream VI) and Lori Evans Taylor (Bed Rest). The film, like the rest in the franchise, will center on a protagonist who has a premonition of their death and the deaths of their friends. After thwarting death the first time, the survivors are picked off one by one as the Grim Reaper comes to collect.
The previous entry, Final Destination 5, was released in 2011. A follow-up was always planned but was delayed for years due to rewrites, production delays, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes of 2023.
When does Final Destination: Bloodlines come out?
The film hits theaters in 2025, to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the original film. An exact date hasn’t been announced yet.
Who stars in the film?
Bloodlines stars Brec Bassinger (Stargirl), Teo Briones (Chucky), Kaitlyn Santa Juana (The Flash), Richard Harmon (The Night Agent), Anna Lore (Gotham Knights), Owen Patrick Joyner (Julie and the Phantoms), Max Lloyd-Jones (The Book of Boba Fett), Rya Kihlstedt (Dexter), and Tinpo Lee (Kung Fu). What can we expect from Bloodlines?
We know little about the plot outside of the franchise’s signature framework. Someone will have a premonition of their disastrous death and save a bunch of folks. Said folks will then get picked off in increasingly creative ways by an annoyed Death. It’s rumored that Bloodlines will explore Bludworth’s backstory, but those rumors have yet to be confirmed.
Final Destination: Bloodlines hits theaters in 2025.

We are currently living in a time of exceptional television, as very clearly evidenced by the presence of shows like Shōgun on our screens. This is not, however, that specific story’s first time being told the visual medium, as James Clavell’s books have been adapted once before.
Based on the books by Clavell, which are in turn based on real-life events, Shōgun has become one of the most talked about series of 2024. With storylines of epic proportions, riveting dialogue, beautiful cinematography, and phenomenal acting, the show has quickly earned a reputation as one of the best shows currently streaming.
This epic series is not the first time this story has been told. In 1980 Paramount Television also adapted Clavell’s work to create a mini-series of the same title. It was the first American production to be filmed in its entirety in Japan, and only three of the Japanese actors spoke English at the time of filming. It also contained many explicit actions previously considered taboo for American television, including the showcasing of urination, a beheading, and the discussion of sexuality and suicide (Japanese seppuku).
The mini-series was a critical success as well as a commercial success with NBC reporting it was seeing its highest ever weekly ratings. It won numerous awards including three Golden Globes, three Primetime Emmys, and a People’s Choice Award. The success of the 1980 iteration continued the trend of mini-series on American television and is probably a big part of why FX decided to reboot it decades later.
While the modern version is available to watch on FX, Disney+, and Hulu, the 1980 Shōgun appears to only be available by buying the DVD set. Hopefully, with the new series’ extreme popularity, that will change soon.

Throughout season 13, Death in Paradise dropped many hints that Detective Inspector Neville Parker (Ralf Little) was ready to say goodbye to Saint Marie. But will he truly leave? Or did recent developments make him change his mind?
The U.K. has currently seen two more episodes of Death in Paradise season 13 than the U.S., so for those of you reading this in the States, be warned, there are spoilers ahead!
**Spoilers ahead for Death in Paradise season 13, episodes 5-8**
It’s no secret that DI Neville Parker has been unlucky in the romance department. He’s either fallen for the wrong person, or his feelings were unrequited. At the end of season 12, Neville was horrifically betrayed, and in season 13, he has had a hard time overcoming that betrayal. A brief online dalliance with a woman who turned out to be his ex-girlfriend hasn’t helped, either. And yet, after all that, Neville realized that he still wanted to try and find love, but that staying in his little bubble on Saint Marie may not help him find it. There’s no denying that he’s much braver than he used to be.
Boldly, Neville proclaimed that he would leave Saint Marie and begin traveling, but the reappearance of DS Florence Cassell (Joséphine Jobert), whom Neville was in love with until she was forced into Witness Protection, could have been enough to change his mind. Despite the show insinuating that Neville got on a plane to leave the island and that he and Florence had missed their chance to reconnect face-to-face in Death in Paradise season 13, episode 7, the final eighth episode satisfyingly resolved everything.
Will Neville Parker return for Death in Paradise season 14?
After Death in Paradise‘s season 13 finale aired on BBC One in the U.K. on Sunday, March 24, the official Death in Paradise X account confirmed that this was Ralf Little’s last episode as the show’s leading DI.
This will undoubtedly be a blow for fans of the show, myself included, as it’s always hard to adjust to a new Detective Inspector, no matter how narratively satisfying the previous iteration’s departure is. Ralf Little is now the longest-serving Death in Paradise DI, too, and his character growth on the show has been astronomical. After the episode aired, Little and Death In Paradise posted a message on Instagram, too, which you can watch below.
When Parker first arrived on the island, he was allergic to literally everything, scared to try new foods, drinks, and experiences, and afraid to put himself out there. Slowly, with the help of his team and friends, he began to open up, becoming a better, more improved version of himself—he’s now empathetic, considerate, humorous, and much more outgoing. It’s been a wonderful journey. Now, he’s headed out on an adventure with Florence by his side, the finale ending with the pair holding hands on a boat as they both literally and figuratively sail off into the sunset. The romance fans have been hoping for has finally been realized.
Earlier, when speaking to RadioTimes.com, Little spoke of his desire to take on a more complex, perhaps even villainous, role, which might be one of the reasons he decided to move on from the show:
“I’ve mostly made a career out of playing quite likeable characters and I’ve loved it,” he said. “The characters I’m mostly known for are likeable, decent, lovable characters. But people are complex and I’d really love to do something very different.”
With Marlon (Tahj Miles) having already left at the end of season 13, episode 5, it looks like viewers may need to get used to more than one new cast member next season.
So, who will lead Saint Marie’s police force next in Death in Paradise season 14? Only time will tell.

When does episode seven of Invincible season two release?
In case you’re not instinctually synced with the program at this point, a new episode of Invincible drops every Thursday until the season two finale debuts on April 4. Since the sixth episode just aired on March 21 (a.k.a. last Thursday), it stands to reason that the seventh episode will drop on March 28 (a.k.a. next Thursday), which, surprise surprise, it will.
Just keep the word “Thursday” in mind if you’re having any trouble remembering the drop date. After all, you don’t want to miss Mark Grayson experiencing yet another devastating moment. Between being isolated from your loved ones, having a father who murders countless thousands, and never knowing if your friends will survive the day, Invincible has taught us all by now that being a superhero actually kinda sucks.
With Miles trapped in another reality with his darker alternate self, Gwen and the gang getting ready to save him, and the Spot hellbent on terrorizing Miles and the Multiverse, what will happen next? We’ll have to wait a little longer to find out—maybe even a lot longer.
At the time of writing, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has been delayed indefinitely. Across the Spider-Verse’s production schedule was famously grueling, with animators and artists working around the clock, adding in new scenes and sequences just a few weeks before release. Now, after the 2023 Hollywood strikes, Beyond’s production team is taking the time to get this final Spider-Verse film right, which is an encouraging sign.
Chris Miller and Phil Lord, Spider-Verse’s writers and producers, spoke to Digital Spy in the summer of 2023 and said that the film will be released “when it is ready.” Lord added, “I can tell you we’re already hard at work on it, and we’ll take the time it takes to make it great.”
If production can continue throughout 2024, there’s a good chance Beyond the Spider-Verse will be released sometime in 2025. For a sequel as ambitious as this one is bound to be, a two-year wait is hardly unheard of. Given the scope of the project, however, 2026 might be more reasonable.
The Spider-Verse movies are universally beloved, and with good reason. Miles Morales’ story, the Spider-Verse concept, and the gorgeous and innovative animation style are second to none. Whenever Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is ready for release, we’ll be watching.

Bandit is an archaeologist

Back in the old days (like, a year or so ago), there was a short on the Bluey YouTube channel that showed Bandit speaking at an archaeologist conference. In the short, Dr. Heeler (yes, apparently he has a PhD!) introduces a bone he found in the field, showing an ancient bipedal canine ancestor. After presenting the find, though, Bandit succumbs to the urge to gnaw on the bone. Because he’s a dog! Dogs like bones! Bluey is a show about dogs, you see.
Even though that short isn’t online anymore, though, there are other clues to Bandit’s profession. In the episode “Yoga Ball,” you can see various artifacts and maps in his home office. In “Curry Quest,” Bandit goes on a dig for six weeks, saying hello to his family via FaceTime calls. On the tablet screen, you can see that Bandit is covered in dirt with a digging tool tucked behind his head.
Chilli does something related to airport security
When it comes to Chilli, it’s a little harder to pinpoint her exact job, but consensus has gradually formed that she works in airport security. Some sources claim that her job used to be part of her character profile on the Bluey website, although that information is no longer there. She doesn’t seem to be a rank and file security agent, though—at least, not full time. In “Tradies,” she tells two contractors that she’s working from home, and in another episode, she has to fill in for a sick coworker and slips her laptop into her backpack before she leaves. She seems to have an office job that she can do remotely some of the time.
How does airport security connect to dogs? The connection isn’t as cut and dry as Bandit chewing on a bone he found, but I guess real dogs do work in airport security.
Do Bandit and Chilli ever actually go to work?
Although they seem to have infinite time to spend playing with their kids, you do occasionally see Bandit and Chilli working. In “Daddy Drop-Off,” Chilli leaves early for work. In another episode (I’m sorry I don’t recall every single Bluey episode, I truly am), we see Bandit emailing a coworker on his phone. It seems that although their work schedules are a little kinder, Chilli and Bandit have the same work-life balance issues as the rest of us, letting their jobs encroach on their home life.
The real question is, how do they afford that amazing house? Alas, the show has yet to give us any answers to that question.

A Song of Ice and Fire is, of course, the basis of the HBO (now Max) series Game of Thrones. Like the TV series, A Song of Ice and Fire tells the story of the embattled land of Westeros, in which lords and rightful monarchs battle for control of the Iron Throne.
The first book in the series, A Game of Thrones, first came out in 1996. The novel told the story of Ned Stark (played in the TV series by Sean Bean), who pushes back against House Lannister’s efforts to seize the throne. Meanwhile, the exiled queen Daenerys Targaryen (played in the series by Emilia Clarke), comes into her power and makes plans to take her rightful place as Westeros’ ruler.
There are currently five books in A Song of Ice and Fire: A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, a Feast For Crows, and A Dance With Dragons, which was published in 2011. Martin has reportedly been at work on the penultimate volume, The Winds of Winter, for about 14 years. According to IGN, Martin reported in December 2022 that he had 1,100 pages of the book written. However, when asked about his progress in November 2023, Martin said that the total number of pages was still at 1,100, with some characters’ stories complete but other storylines unfinished.
That means that, as of this writing, there’s no solid release date for The Winds of Winter.
Meanwhile, the Game of Thrones TV series wrapped up in 2019, with Martin serving as an executive producer. Season 2 of the show’s spin-off series, House of the Dragon, is currently in production.

The Sonic the Hedgehog movies have come a long way to get to Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Once, fans feared the original Sonic design would doom the live-action adaptation to the dustbin of cinematic history.

What is the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 release date?
Good news: Sonic 3 has an official release date. We’re getting the third Sonic the Hedgehog installment on December 20, 2024.
This news isn’t exactly new, as the film had its release date set all the way back in August 2022. However, the official Sonic the Hedgehog movie series Twitter account once again confirmed the film’s December 2024 release plans in late 2023, solidifying the sequel’s launch.
So yes, clear your schedule for December 20, 2024. That date is official, and it looks like it’s here to stay as the film’s premiere.

Ben Schwartz will reprise his role as Sonic, as will James Marsden, who plays Sonic’s friend Tom Wachowski. When discussing his role in the Sonic films in 2020, Marsden told Variety that he was set to star in “as many as they want to make.” Idris Elba will also return as Knuckles for the film and will star in his own spinoff TV series, Knuckles. Colleen O’Shaughnessey will also return as Tails, as will Tika Sumpter as Maddie.
But the big news is Jim Carrey’s return as Dr. Robotnik! After saying he was retiring from acting, Carrey was convinced to rejoin the third film. Which is awesome because he’s ridiculously good in the role.
Alyla Browne joins the cast as Maria Robotnik, Gerald Robotnik’s granddaughter. Browne announced her casting via social media. Maria plays a major role in Shadow the Hedgehog’s story, so it’s a safe bet that Shadow will make an appearance. Shadow’s voice has yet to be cast, but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating.

So, what’s the plot for Sonic 3?
We don’t quite know yet what the movie’s plot will be. During a mid-credits scene in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, fans famously caught their first glimpse at Shadow the Hedgehog within the cinematic universe. A teaser from November further shows Shadow with his fists clenched next to a Sonic 3 clapperboard, implying Shadow will play a pivotal role in the upcoming film.
Other than that, no official plot details have been given.
According to a synopsis shared by Production Weekly in 2022, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will involve Shadow the Hedgehog and Robotnik working together against Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails. Along the way, Metal Sonic will also appear as a core villain. Amy Rose and Big the Cat are both supposedly set to appear in the film as well. But again, none of this has been confirmed by the studio.

Sonic 3 may feature Metal Sonic, Amy, and more. Anything is possible! But no official plot has been revealed, so any claims made in the wild should be taken with a grain of salt.

Morgan is to stock portfolios (and whatever else they do), he’s that but for babies learning about shapes and colors. John was born in 1988, in Ellensburg, Washington. John created the character Blippi in 2014, and boy do toddlers and preschoolers LOVE his content.
How much does Blippi make?
Blippi has a net worth of $90 million. $90 MILLION. He struck gold! Oil! But this kind of crude doesn’t come out of the ground! It comes from the eyes, hearts, and attention spans of children! Somehow Blippi has made his YouTube videos for kids so profitable that he’s making the kind of money that tech-bros can only gawk at. He’s making everyone in Silicon Valley question their line of work, I’m sure. I mean, just look at his HOUSES. PLURAL. Blippi lives in a 9000-square-foot mansion in California, and he owns five other properties. His house has seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, along with a movie theatre, game room, and probably a secret dungeon behind a bookshelf where he makes Faustian bargains with demons in exchange for fabulous worldly possessions and success. How else do you explain it? Creativity? Passion? Hard work? Sounds pretty infernal to me.
What are Blippi’s YouTube stats?
Blippi has 17.7 million subscribers on his YouTube channel. I don’t know what’s more concerning, the fact that 17.7 million eight-year-olds have YouTube accounts or that Blippi has managed to catch all their attention like Pokémon. But surely YouTube isn’t Blippi’s only source of income? Any rich person worth their imported Himalayan salt knows the only way to REALLY make money is to diversify. And that’s exactly what Blippi did. The man has a line of toys, merch deals, and he’s even got a live show! That’s right, Blippi tours. He’s a one-man The Wiggles. Where do I buy tickets? I bet the pit at the Blippi show is insane.

The Big Three’s biggest is full to bursting with characters. I don’t know how Eiichiro Oda (the author, if you don’t know) keeps ’em all straight. In fact, I’m pretty sure a couple of them are gay. You can’t deny the tension between Zoro and Sanji. C’mon. We have eyes. Anyways, Ju Peter is a character of indeterminate sexual preferences that has appeared in the latest arc of the manga (although he has an evil silver fox daddy vibe). So who is he? Where did he come from? Where did he go? Cotten Eyed Joe?
Ju Peter: A Biography
Ju Peter is actually not Mr. Peter’s full title. He is actually (officially) known as Shepard Ju Peter, and is one of the five “leaders” of the World Government. Who’s the World Government? Weren’t you paying attention in your One Piece Lore 101 courses? The World Government is a massive geopolitical organization that is currently fighting for control over the entire world. Ever heard of the Marines? They own those guys. While there are oodles of people crammed into the World Gov’s halls of power, there are five men who sit at the “top” of the power pyramid. These dudes are known as the Five Elders, and there are the official leaders of the not-so-free world. Of course, you and I know that’s all a ruse, and the Five Elders actually take orders from some tall hatted dude name Im. Who’s Im? We don’t know. But we DO know that he has the power to wipe who island chains off the face of the earth (sea?) with a simple command (and a little help from a mystery superweapon). So if you didn’t already get it, Im is Ju Peter’s boss. Not a boss that I would wanna have.
As powerful as Im is, he’s only one guy. He probably read about the word “delegation” in whatever Dictatorship for Dummies book that he was reading to learn how to do the job, and found some perfect cronies to help him out around the house. Not a democratic sort of house (i.e. Representatives) because I’m pretty sure no one else gets a vote. In his infinite wisdom (his words) he decided to entrust Ju Peter with the title of Warrior God of Agriculture. Way better than “secretary” no? I’m really sure what kind of agricultural decisions need to be made by the World Government, considering that 95% of the world they govern is covered in water. But someone’s gotta grow a turnip or two on that 5%, no? I guess that’s Ju Peter’s job?
The thing is, we don’t really get to see Ju Peter making a lot of agricultural decision… cause that would be kinda boring. Instead, we see him using his frankly freaky powers of transformation to turn into a GIANT WORM STRAIGHT OUTTA ARRAKIS to fight against anyone or anything that would try to take the World Government down. Aside from his creepy powers, the man is also strapped up. He carries a flintlock pistol that he intends to use on anyone who so much as lays an eye on his boss Im. If this wasn’t enough, Peter also has the power to authorize a Buster Call against anyone or anything he deems a threat. What’s a Buster Call? It’s the closest thing the One Piece universe has to a nuclear strike. Basically a fleet of Marine warships all fire on a single target at the same time. Unsurprisingly, the target is obliterated.
So what does Ju Peter want? Above all else, to maintain status quo. The World Government (or at least Ju Peter) is content on keeping The Three Great Powers (The WG itself, The Four Emperors, and the Seven Warlords of the Sea) in… well, power. So long as nothing comes along to topple that balance, Ju Peter is content. Naturally, a rubbery shonen hell-bent on becoming King of The Pirates would mess up that balance, so Monkey D. Luffy is not exactly on ol’ Ju Ju P’s good side. If he even has a good side to begin with. Based on his tyrannical actions in the series so far, Ju Peter’s soft side likely has the consistency of a lead weight.

In his quest to become a Hunter and find his father, Hunter X Hunter‘s young, sweet Gon has to overcome many challenges and villains along the way, including the menacing Phantom Troupe. Let’s get to know one member, Shizuku Murasaki, a little better.
Who is the Phantom Troupe?
We meet the Phantom Troupe during the Yorknew City Arc, considered by many to be one of the best in the anime. It is a powerful group of thieves who will stop at nothing to attain the object of their desires. Its members are called Spiders and the majority hail from Meteor City, growing up as orphans of the junkyard. There are 13 members in total, with Chrollo acting as the head of the Spider and the rest as the 12 legs. Members are ranked based on their power and abilities, and they can be replaced if they die or someone can replace them if they challenge and kill them, and even then only if the leader approves of their joining.
Shizuku is the Phantom Troupe’s eighth leg and bears the troupe’s spider tattoo with the number eight displayed on it on her lower midsection. Like many members, Shizuku grew up in Meteor City and because of that, she has no official documentation. She is the twelfth strongest member of the troupe in terms of physical strength, but even then she is impressive. In an arm wrestle with Gon, who is inordinately strong for his age, she loses, but only because she uses her less dominant arm and wishes to challenge him again though Feiten moves her along.

How old is Shizuku?
Due to the fact she was born in Meteor City, there are no official documents that would allow anyone to know Shizuku’s exact age. Some of the troupe members’ ages are mentioned. We know that when we first meet Chrollo he is 26, and currently, in the manga, he is 28. It is believed that Shizuku is roughly 19 or 20 years old.
What are her abilities?
Shizuku can wield Nen and is a conjurer. Her abilities allow her to conjure a vacuum named Blinky which can suck in almost anything in its path, a useful tool for cleaning up evidence after the Phantom Troupe has struck. The only thing Blinky cannot suck up is living being (dead beings are fine) or objects embued with Nen. One of the most useful things about Blinky is that it can be extremely specific about what it soaks up, so Shizuku can pull poison from a body or even blood from a wound, which she uses to exsanguinate others, such as Pike, a chimera ant general from the Chimera Ant Arc.
Just like most Phantom members Shizuku has heightened physical abilities such as speed, reflexes, and agility. Plus, compared to some of the troupe members, Shizuku is tactical and intelligent. Personality-wise she comes across as extremely cold and shows no emotion when killing others but does care for the other troupe members and obeys the troupe’s rules.
Currently, Yoshihiro Togashi’s manga is still ongoing, at a painfully slow pace given Togashi’s ill health. The anime caught up to where the manga was and ended there as there was not enough manga to continue adapting. Though Togashi has created a lot more since then, we aren’t sure if the anime will ever return to finish off the story.

Those brave enough to watch the first season of Heavenly Delusion are excited for more. It’s gritty and the deaths are undeniably gruesome, if not heartbreaking. But there is still a lot left unanswered by the series after its 13th episode.
Japan has become apocalyptic and overrun by various monsters. When physics actually applies in games or anime, you just know that the deaths are going to be extremely bloody. In search of a place called “Heaven,” the characters we’ll come to know and love are instead sent to a place that’s better likened to hell.
Is there another season already? As of the moment, Heavenly Delusion hasn’t been renewed for a second season. Additionally, the manga of the series hasn’t moved significantly since the anime’s ending in 2023. We might have to wait a little longer for a second season of Heavenly Delusion.
Nevertheless, there are many reasons for a second season to come, since the ending isn’t clean-cut and gives us possibilities for more. For starters, we don’t know what happened to Tokio’s ‘twins.’ Which one of them was the real child, and which one was the clone?
Even the parents of Maru, Tokio, and Kona, are missing. These might be important set-ups for the second season. If you can’t wait for more, you can check out the manga of Heavenly Delusion at Kodansha’s website.

Shogun, the epic series based on Jame Clavell’s novel series from the 1970s, is now streaming on Hulu and FX. However, the series is streaming on an American network for an American audience. Does that mean it’s in English, or is it subtitled?
Shogun takes place in Japan and has a largely Japanese cast, but an international focus doesn’t always mean that a show’s dialogue will be in another country’s native tongue. For example, the miniseries Chernobyl, which aired on HBO in 2019, takes place in Russia and Ukraine, but it was filmed in English. Different filmmakers make different choices when it comes to what language a series will be filmed in.
So how subtitles-intensive is Shogun?
The Japanese characters in Shogun, along with some of the non-Japanese characters like Portuguese missionaries, all speak in Japanese in the show. Their dialogue is subtitled for English audiences.
However, some of the show’s dialogue is in English—even when the characters are presumably speaking other languages. For example, the series begins on a Dutch ship, and many of the characters (both foreign and Japanese) speak Portuguese. All of these scenes are rendered in English.
Why? It’s not clear, but you could chalk it up to the fact the story is partly told from the perspective of John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis), an English pilot who arrives on the coast of Japan aboard a derelict Dutch vessel. As Blackthorne is captured and eventually taken under the protection of Lord Yoshii Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada), he interacts with various characters. Blackthorne acts as an audience surrogate, taking in his new surroundings as he tries to stay alive.
If you’re able to read subtitles, it’s worth listening to the Japanese cast members’ original performances. However, if you need an English dub, then Hulu offers that option. It’s right next to the “Episodes” tab in the show’s main menu.

The Fallout video game series created a complex post-apocalyptic world, combining a nostalgic past and a desolate future. It mixes a 1950s pop culture aesthetic with a Western-style desolation in a world destroyed by atomic bombs. Fans of the video games know the lore is deep and detailed. If done well, Fallout would make a fantastic television series. Prime Video undertook that challenge and will release the first 8-episode season of Fallout on April 11.
In the teaser trailer, many iconic elements of the games popped out immediately with the Vault Dwellers and the Brotherhood of Steel. The story will focus on a young woman named Lucy (Yellowjackets’ Ella Purnell) leaving the safety of the vault for the first time. Alongside her story is that of a young man in the Brotherhood named Maximus (Aaron Moten) who has never known the security of vault life. Popping out among so many Easter Eggs is another main character—a ghoul bounty hunter played by Walton Goggins.
The new ghoul in town
Ghouls are a special part of the Fallout series. Although they look a little like zombies because of their deteriorating skin and missing appendages, ghouls are almost the opposite of zombies. Whereas zombies are slowly rotting away, ghouls are preserved. Their exposure to nuclear radiation charred most of their skin and caused deterioration of some body parts. In some ghouls, their mental capabilities were also affected. However, many ghouls retain their minds and find themselves in well-preserved bodies that can heal while near radiation. Because of their altered bodies, ghouls can live much longer than humans.

In the Fallout series, Walton Goggins (Justified, The Righteous Gemstones) will play The Ghoul, a gun-toting ghoul who stands out amongst the ghouls. Goggins, known for his skill in both drama and comedy, seems like the perfect fit for the character. In the teaser trailer, The Ghoul looks like something out of a Western film as he takes out people easily with his pistol. The Ghoul’s skin is heavily altered and his nose is an open cavity, yet he still has Goggins’s charm. Another moment shows the Ghoul before the blast as a human trying to save a young girl while bombs explode nearby.

His “before the blast” life is given more focus in the full trailer. Not only do we see his pre-Ghoul self running with a little girl during the nuclear attack as we did in the teaser trailer, but we see him doing an ad for Vault-Tec vaults, advertising them as a “veritable Camelot for the Nuclear Age.”
The trailer then alternates between showing us life pre and post-blast. We see The Ghoul holding Lucy at gunpoint. We see him walking through a deserted area with another star of the Fallout video game series, Dogmeat (the Fallout 4 German shepherd version)! And we see an expanded version of the shootout from the teaser trailer with The Ghoul delivering a hilariously charming line.
When Lucy (clearly having never encountered a ghoul before) shoots him with a drug-filled syringe hoping to take him down, he nonchalantly pulls it out of his chest and says, “Now that is a very small drop in a very, very large bucket of drugs.”
We then see shots of him walking with Lucy and seemingly taking lots of drugs. His voiceover heard across a montage of scenes speaks what seems to be one of the main themes of the show: “You look out at this wasteland and it looks like chaos. But there’s always somebody behind the wheel.”
And in a poignant blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, there’s a shot of The Ghoul watching black and white footage of himself from over 200 years earlier on a TV screen acting in a Western as he points a finger gun at his younger self and blasts it in a melancholy gesture.
Lastly, we see more of his human self, also in a cowboy outfit, running with a little Black girl as the bombs hit, and later a shot of him kissing a Black woman in a vault as he’s shooting his commercial. Could this be his family? Was he an actor before he became one of the Wasteland’s most persistent bounty hunters?
Being over 200 years old has sharpened this Ghoul’s survival skills and given him one hell of a backstory. We can’t wait to see more of this unique character.

If you’re like me and can’t get enough John Wick in your life, then there’s good news for both of us. A John Wick anime series was announced, and we’ll tell you all the details we know so far.
When can I watch the John Wick anime?
As reported by Collider, the John Wick anime series was announced back in December of 2023. So far, details on the project are somewhat scant. Expect either a late 2024 or 2025 release, as there is no concrete release date at the moment.
Lionsgate will produce the series, but we do not know which anime studio they will partner with to bring it to fruition. There are a few likely candidates on the list, such as A1 Pictures (Lycoris Recoil), MAPPA Studio (Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Vinland Saga), Madhouse Studio (Black Lagoon, Trigun, Perfect Blue), and so on. MAPPA is a strong candidate because they are a juggernaut studio that creates so many well-known projects.
What will happen in the series?
Keep in mind that we also do not have direct details on what plotline this anime will follow. We don’t know when and where it’ll slot into the overall John Wick universe. Your best bet is to get familiar with the story now by watching all of the movies and reading the comic series.
If you haven’t seen the John Wick movies yet, you are missing out. The first film in the series came out in 2014 and was a runaway hit. John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is an ex-assassin who lived out his days at home in peace with a puppy his late wife gave to him before she passed. Long story short: his dog gets killed by underworld criminals and he goes on an all-out revenge streak to murder the men who did it.
Since then, three more movies(John Wick: Chapter 2, John Wick: Chapter 3– Parabellum, John Wick: Chapter 4) have been released, along with comic books, spinoff seriesThe Continental, and cameos in games like Fortnite. There’s even going to be a spin-off film, Ballerina, with Ana de Armas coming out in 2025.
The John Wick universe has expanded beyond its New York setting to include international members of the High Table, the most powerful criminal organization in the world. The stakes get increasingly higher for our main guy John as he seeks to destroy the High Table once and for all.
I’m hoping the anime explores the characters Akira and Caine more. They were incredible in John Wick 4 and I wanted to know more about them. With that being said, I’ll be happy with whatever we get.
