    Zoom Video Communications, Inc. has announced Zoom Workplace, its AI-powered, open collaboration platform, and introduced new AI Companion expansions to help reimagine teamwork. Zoom’s latest products and features, including new AI Companion features for Zoom Phone and extended capabilities with Ask AI Companion, a refreshed look within the Zoom app, and more, will provide its customers with the all-in-one AI-powered platform they need to power modern work. Zoom also announced customer experience enhancements to Zoom Contact Center, so businesses can strengthen customer relationships and leverage real-time AI-powered insights to improve live agent engagements.

    Drive Impact with AI Companion

    Zoom continues to elevate AI within its platform, helping users harness their productivity directly within their existing workflows, enhancing employees’ skills, and empowering teams to focus their time where it matters. Zoom’s latest AI Companion innovations will include Ask AI Companion, an enhancement of the digital assistant that will help users prepare for their workday across Zoom Workplace, plus AI Companion for Zoom Phone and additional capabilities for Team Chat and Whiteboard. All AI Companion features will continue to be included at no additional cost with the paid services in eligible Zoom user accounts.

    Ask AI Companion will provide a new way to interact with AI Companion across the Zoom platform. Users can enhance their productivity and be better prepared for their workday with Ask AI Companion, which will gather, synthesize, and share information from Zoom Meetings, Mail, Team Chat, Notes, Docs, and more. Ask AI Companion will also help prepare users for and recap meetings, show relevant action items, draft agendas, and summarize chat and email threads, as well as documents. In a later release after the initial launch, Ask AI Companion will be able to pull relevant content from select third-party applications (if the customer chooses to enable them) to be even more helpful.

    Zoom Phone is now boosted with AI Companion capabilities to help make calls and follow-up more productive. With AI Companion in Zoom Phone, users can request a post-call summary and next steps, so they can focus on the conversation instead of taking notes. If they miss an important call, voicemail prioritization helps elevate urgent messages, moving them to the top of the queue, and voicemail task extraction delivers tasks from voicemails to help users understand the next steps without listening to every voicemail. Team SMS thread summary also provides a concise overview of Team SMS threads in PowerPack, so users can quickly catch up after stepping away.

    AI Companion task extraction for Zoom Phone

    Other AI Companion innovations across the platform will include new Team Chat and Whiteboard capabilities. In Team Chat, AI Companion now helps users save time with smart scheduling that automatically detects the intent for a meeting in chat and suggests a meeting time, and in the future will provide sentence completion and will expand to support 38 languages (in preview) for the chat compose and thread summary features. Zoom Whiteboard users are now able to generate and refine whiteboard flowcharts and mind maps using a simple prompt to kick-start ideation and creativity.     Reimagine Teamwork with Zoom Workplace

    Zoom Workplace, the company’s AI-powered collaboration platform, will deliver new innovations to help businesses reimagine teamwork, facilitate connections, improve productivity, and optimize flexible work experiences. Zoom Workplace will elevate the Zoom experience with Zoom AI Companion so that all employees within a company can be more productive, collaborate better, and enhance their skills. 

    Zoom Workplace will continue to be an open platform that enables customer choice. Zoom’s APIs, SDKs, and over 2,500 integrations in the Zoom App Marketplace make it easy for customers to integrate Zoom into existing tech or integrate users’ favorite apps into Zoom.

    With the introduction of Zoom Workplace, Zoom is unveiling a refreshed user experience with more choices, including the ability to choose from four color themes within the Zoom app, so users can make the app their own. Hosts will also have the opportunity to tailor customized virtual meeting backgrounds to tailor the feel or focus of the meeting. 

    “With Zoom, there aren’t any challenges with implementing complex tools, so we can focus on engaging our employees and collaborating on the work that matters,” said Diofanto Rosales, vice president of digital workplace and IT infrastructure at Flex. “Zoom Workplace will bring all our essential work tools together in a single app, making it easier than ever to get work done.”

    For Zoom Meetings, users will see a new Meetings tab within the Zoom app that will allow users to collaborate before, during, and after meetings. It supports traditional calendar views and serves as the central place for agendas, recordings, and other shared assets such as documents, and AI Companion smart recordings, and meeting summaries. Last year Zoom introduced continuous meeting chat, which helps users continue chat conversations so collaboration can continue outside of meetings asynchronously and throughout the life of a project. With the new Meetings tab, users can access continuous meeting chats from the Meeting card before and after the meeting.

    During meetings, the new multi-speaker view will automatically adapt the video layout to highlight active speakers to help attendees follow the discussion more easily. AI-powered portrait lighting will help illuminate users’ faces in poor lighting, and generative AI virtual backgrounds will allow users to create custom backgrounds. 

    Additional new features for Meetings will include a customizable toolbar that will allow users to pin their most-used features, multi-share, which will allow multiple participants to share their screens and documents, whiteboards, and notes simultaneously, and document collaboration that will provide the ability to select documents, streamline document access permissions, and co-edit right from meetings with documents from third-party apps. 

    In Zoom Team Chat, asynchronous communication will be boosted by Team Chat tabs that will help users stay organized by keeping channel-related assets like links, whiteboards, and resources in a single view, shared spaces that provide a shared grouping of channels to help users better organize conversations and improve discoverability of relevant project or team-based topics,  and workflow automation, a powerful, no-code workflow engine, will be easily configurable to automate business tasks in Team Chat. 

    For hybrid and onsite organizations, navigating the office will be easier than ever with the introduction of a Workspaces tab, providing access to Workspace Reservation with wayfinding and Visitor Management directly from the Zoom Workplace app. To help make meetings more inclusive, Zoom Rooms will include the option to enable new smart name tags, which will be able to automatically apply name tags to people in a Zoom Room during a meeting. 

    When one screen isn’t enough, users will be able to expand Zoom Rooms with a companion device for an additional screen to collaborate with audio and video. For Workvivo customers, a new integration with Zoom Rooms will provide the ability to instantly broadcast important updates, news, and events to employees using Workvivo TV with certified devices for Zoom Rooms.

    Zoom AI Companion for Contact Center

    Zoom Contact Center already includes AI Companion for Contact Center at no additional cost. Further real-time capabilities with AI Expert Assist include intelligently retrieving and suggesting the best responses from a curated set of knowledge bases, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and other systems of record.  Now supervisors are getting even more AI Companion for Contact Center capabilities. Supervisors now have visibility into their agents’ live engagements with real-time customer sentiment, live transcriptions, and conversation summaries from a single dashboard to help them better manage agents and easily identify when they need to provide assistance. 

    In Zoom Contact Center, businesses can now expand their digital communication channels to include WhatsApp and inbound email, giving customers more flexibility and choice, and making it easier for agents to engage and respond to customers. 

    Agents will benefit from custom app integration with Zoom’s open and flexible framework that allows teams to build apps from proprietary or third-party data sources that surface relevant customer information directly within the agent desktop, which reduces toggling between apps and allows for personalization and faster resolutions. Agents will also benefit from deep integration with Zoom Workplace, which will allow them to seamlessly direct transfer customers with AI-generated engagement summaries to back-office experts using Zoom Phone Power Pack, enabling seamless escalations and helping reduce handling time. 

    Zoom Contact Center and Zoom Phone will also offer an integration with PCI Pal to enable secure capture of payment data, including PCI attestation of compliance (AOC). Also, Zoom Contact Center customers now have the ability to store certain data locally in Zoom’s EU data center,  designed to meet the data storage needs of EU-based customers. 

    Revenue organizations who use Zoom Revenue Accelerator can now enhance their customer conversations with deal memos, which will provide a brief summary of a conversation and an analysis of its impact on the possibility of winning a deal. Coming soon, a built-in automated scorecard will help improve sales outcomes by creating scorecards that rate customer interactions and provide actionable feedback.

    For marketing professionals, Zoom Events enhancements will amplify their hybrid events to help make them more engaging. With new AI Companion image generation, hosts can now create custom images based on a simple text prompt for event registration pages, virtual backgrounds, and marketing emails.     History was made by Team Suzuki, with over a thousand Raider R150 riders firing up their engines and hitting the open roads of the Metro, including the expressway, for what proved to be an unforgettable Suzuki Raider Big Ride! This was an unprecedented event celebrating supremacy and promoting road safety. The ride was a 44km convoy of Raider R150 motorcycles, signifying its dominance as the unrivaled Underbone King.

    As early as 3:00 AM on March 23, 2024, Raider riders from Calabarzon, NCR, Bulacan and Pampanga converged at the Suzuki Caloocan Cyclemar 3S Shop situated at the Metro’s heart of motorcycle and spare parts dealers — 10th Avenue in Caloocan City — for the Suzuki Raider Big Ride. The massive Underbone King parade commenced at 7:45 AM, passing the stretch of Edsa to Roxas Boulevard, entering the Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex), exiting to Bacoor, and proceeding to Bacoor Coliseum in Molino. Marking another milestone in the motoring industry, the occasion was the first organized large convoy of riders that allowed small displacement motorcycles to enter an expressway in Manila.

    The expressway experience added thrill to the Raider riders, who fostered discipline and
    camaraderie all throughout the journey. More excitement awaited at the endpoint, with a program that Suzuki had prepared for everyone. Hosted by DJ Tanya Tsinita, the show revolved around the importance of safety riding with a Safety Riding segment that tested our riders’ understanding of the country’s rules and regulations on the road.

    The riders were also treated to raffle items of parts, accessories, and safety riding gear given by trade partners Racing Boy Philippines, AV Moto Sales, HJC Helmets, Shinko Tires, Triumph JT Marketing Corporation, and Ryzen Helmets from Team Graphitee. The brand gave away a brand-new V-STROM 250 SX, which John Erickson Martel from the R150 All Star Nation won.

    The event was attended by Suzuki executives and group heads led by president Koichiro Hirao, managing director Norminio Mojica, general manager for after sales and marine Yukio Sato, division head for motorcycle sales and marketing Joey Salavarria, assistant to the division head Daigo Morikawa, assistant general manager for manufacturing & engineering Noli Silvestre, marketing communications group head Edelyn Yanilla, product marketing and data group head Victoria Caringal, and field marketing group head Johnny De Guzman. Their presence solidified Suzuki’s commitment to foster a vibrant motorcycle community in the country.

    The route of the Suzuki Raider Big Ride was carefully chosen and organized in partnership with
    the Metropolitan Manila Mayors, Administrators & City Enforcers, Metro Manila Development
    Authority (MMDA) – MMDA Chairman Romando Artes, MMDA Radio and Motorcycle Units,
    Highway Patrol Group Tigers, City of Bacoor Tourism Office, Bacoor Traffic Management Office
    and Bacoor Motorcycle Traffic Group, the Manila-Cavite Expressway – Public Estates Authority
    (Cavitex-PEA), Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) and the office of Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr..
    The ride was also backed by Suzuki clubs and riders with Ride Coordinator Richard Dela Cruz.

    The Suzuki Raider Big Ride is another first from Suzuki and the Japanese giant’s way of showing
    gratitude to the riders for their support of the Raider brand since its launch in 2003. The Raider community is growing immensely with solidarity of a family and owning one is not just having a motorcycle badge but one that says “We are the Underbone King!”.

    Sun Life Global Solutions (SLGS) Philippines, the shared services of the global insurance and asset management leader Sun Life is celebrating this year’s International Women’s Month by further championing Women in Tech through a more comprehensive Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEI&B) career plan.

    Over the years, SLGS has emerged as a talent and innovation hub, driving seamless digital transformation and providing technology, knowledge services, and business services to Sun Life businesses globally. In its continued commitment to empowering its talent, Sun Life Global Solutions strives to foster an environment where all employees are treated fairly and respectfully at work and in communities, where everyone has equal access to opportunities and resources.

    This has been the motivation of their DEI&B core team to develop an even more comprehensive DEI&B career plan for 2024, divided into three phases: 1. Attract, 2. Develop, and 3. Engage and Retain which was conceptualized considering inputs from the SLGS team, survey results, and a DEI index in the Towers Watson survey from Towers Watson, a global professional services firm focused on business, risk management, and human resource consulting to measure and propel an organization’s workforce. 

    ATTRACT through gender diversity-focused hiring 

    While SLGS’s gender diversity across the organization is currently at 55%, the company is still looking to grow their gender diversity in tech positions. SLGS is committed to improving gender diversity at the very start of the employment process by removing bias in hiring. 

    With their Talent Acquisition team collaborating with various sectors since 2023, SLGS created awareness campaigns with university partners, conducted training on resume writing, and incorporated policy changes for removing bias in hiring such as the removal of pictures, schools, gender, age/birthday and parent occupation in candidate resumes. 

    DEVELOP with mentorship program for women and training roadmap

    For current employees, SLGS in collaboration with the SunStree team, a women employee network that serves as a platform for women to maximize their full potential, is creating mentorship programs for women and would-be women leaders. This will run alongside a reverse mentorship program with MIllennials and Gen Zs as mentors, and their leaders as mentees.

    The mentorship programs will be amplified through the implementation of the Allyship Framework, which  allows the entire leadership team of SLGS to co-sponsor awareness campaigns on how to be an “ally” as well as to drive the SLGS PH DEI&B scorecard that will measure the demographics, participation rate, and impact of activities. 

    This will be done through the SLGS inclusion networks, which are groups for gender empowerment called Bright Women,Pride (LGBTQ+) and DiverseAbility (Persons with Disability) clubs, which are all aligned with the Global Sun Life DEI&B Inclusion Networks. Two more were established locally: DEKADA (Inter-generation) and Working Families.

    To consistently improve their DEI&BI efforts, SLGS is also inviting their managers to have focus group discussions to align on their inclusivity programs and serve as the voice of their employees. 

    ENGAGE AND RETAIN through DEI&B Programs

Some of these activities include: the annual celebration of the International Women’s Day during the month of March, the implementation of DEI&B Awards under Rewards and Recognition, Inclusion Network Activities and Events including collaboration initiatives with Sustainability and CSR teams, and as well as Awareness and visibility campaign on the inclusion networks to boost membership sign-ups.

    Nathalie Bernardo, SLGS Philippines vp and Site head, echoed during their recently culminated SLGS’ Moments of Togetherness event the importance of their DEI&B mission to Sun Life as a company and its employees. “Our goal is for every employee to feel heard and empowered to make a positive impact, both with the organization and in our community,” she shared.

Rider-partners are now also required to do an annual mandatory retraining and vehicle inspection. 

    Believing in the transformative impact of continuous education, MOVE IT has also partnered with various organizations and agencies in the implementation of capacity-building programs. These sessions cover topics such as road safety, passenger handling, and vehicle maintenance. The moto-taxi platform has sealed partnerships with MMDA, PNP, and CEMEX in the pursuit of these programs.  

    The company also recently announced its very first MOVE IT Kaligtasan Center, which is located at the MOVE IT-Grab Warehouse in Marikina. This is a designated facility for all skills development and assessment activities and will soon evolve to house dedicated help desks for rider and passenger concerns — effectively growing multi-channel help centers and consumer assistance channels.     Globe has called on the public to be extra vigilant and never engage with text messages with links directing customers to click to redeem Globe Rewards, as these are scam SMS sent out by fraudsters via spoofing. 

    Customers have reported receiving spoofed messages impersonating Globe’s sender ID, inviting them to click dubious links supposedly to claim their Globe Rewards. These malicious links are meant to steal personal information, including credit card details. 

    Fraudsters are apparently taking advantage of Globe’s push for customers to claim their Rewards before the expiry on March 31, 2024. 

    All official SMS from Globe do not contain links. 

    “We call on our customers to please never click on links in SMS pretending to be from Globe. Any text message containing a link from supposed sender ID “Globe” is a fraudulent message done via spoofing. Globe will never send an official advisory with links. Do not fall for enticing offers in these scam messages,” said Darius Delgado, Globe vice president and head of Consumer Mobile Business. 

    He reminded customers that Globe Rewards may only be claimed via one platform: the GlobeOne app

    “Globe Rewards points may only be redeemed via the GlobeOne app. We’d like to encourage our customers to use this official platform, as this is the only place where they can claim rewards,” he said. 

    Spoofed messages are malicious SMS sent out via illegal equipment called the international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) catcher or a fake cell tower or base station, which captures mobile users within a limited radius. 

    Brought around or foot or inside a vehicle, the IMSI catcher forces phones within a certain area to downgrade to 2G, the old cellular network technology for voice calls and texts. Fraudsters can then send out SMS from any spoofed or impersonated number or sender ID, such as “Globe,” to mobile phones connected to this fake cell tower. 

    These messages do not pass through the Globe network and go under the radar, evading its spam filters. 

    Globe observed a rise in spoofing and other forms of text scams, such as messages sent via over-the-top services or chat apps that are also outside the purview of telcos, after it bolstered security measures that filtered out spam and scam SMS. 

    In September 2022, Globe became the first Philippine telco to take the unprecedented step of barring all person-to-person messages with links from its network. It also implemented stronger policies on which sources or sender IDs are allowed to send app-to-person messages with links.

    With its aggressive filters enforced 24/7, Globe blocked a total of 5.48 billion spam and scam messages in 2023, twice the volume it barred in 2022.  

    These measures altogether made SMS scamming more difficult for fraudsters, prompting them to find novel ways to do their illicit trade. 

    “As we continue to enhance our security measures to protect our customers and our network, scammers will keep finding new ways to defraud mobile users, which are often outside Globe’s control. We need the help of our customers to be proactive in protecting themselves as Globe does not have control over a lot of content that reach them, such as texts from spoofed SMS and from chat apps, and unconfirmed information they get on social media. Please be discerning,” said Anton Bonifacio, Globe’s chief information security officer.

    Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South), a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), is gearing up for the anticipated surge in motorists and the accompanying increase in Holy Week traffic.

    The toll road operator foresees an 8% to 10% rise in vehicle traffic on its toll roads, including the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) and Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), as well as its C5 Link segment. This increase in Holy Week traffic is expected from Monday, March 25, to Sunday, March 31, from the usual 43,000 daily traffic on CALAX, 170,000 on CAVITEX, and 12,300 on C5 Link.

    MPT South is reactivating its “Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko” motorist assistance program and elevating operational readiness to cater to motorists’ needs to address this surge. Additional manpower will be deployed for services, including traffic management, toll collection, standby emergency medical services, and incident response teams. Motorist assistance remains accessible through 24/7 Customer Service Centers, a 24/7 Customer Care Hotline at 1-35000, and 24/7 social media channels (Facebook: fb.com/cavitexpressway, fb.com/OfficialCALAX, Twitter: twitter.com/caviteXpressway, twitter.com/OfficialCALAX) to ensure a hassle-free journey.

    During the period, free towing will be provided for CLASS 1 vehicles up to the nearest exit, available from 6AM on March 22 to 6AM of March 25, 2024; 6AM of March 27 to 6AM of March 29, 2024; and 6AM of March 30 until 6AM of April 1, 2024. Construction and lane closures along the carriageway will also be suspended unless safety repairs are necessary.

    Raul L. Ignacio, president and general manager of MPT South, emphasized the importance of RFID for toll transactions to streamline motorists’ journeys. “Utilizing Easytrip RFID at MPTC Toll Plazas significantly reduces travel time compared to waiting in long cash lanes.” Motorists were also encouraged to download the MPT DriveHub app to efficiently manage their Easytrip RFID account and receive real-time traffic updates across various MPTC toll roads.

    Ignacio added, “Poor vehicle maintenance remains a leading cause of breakdowns on expressways, causing inconvenience to motorists. With an anticipated increase in holiday travel during Holy Week, we advise motorists to conduct a thorough BLOWBAGETS check on their vehicles before hitting the road for a smoother travel experience.”

These two variants join the most powerful offering in its segment, the CX-5 2.5L AWD Turbo. Redefining the segment with heightened levels of style, performance, and craftsmanship, the new CX-5 range is made for those who live their lives by their own rules.

    Continuing with Mazda’s Human-Centric development, the CX-5 range adopts principles first used by Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture.     The CX-5 is an SUV rich in detail. Built to the highest levels of Japanese quality and precision, the 2024 range represents genuine luxury that is a class above.

    The seats are finished in Black Leather with Orange Stitching on the 2.0L Sport and 2.5L AWD Sport. The 2.5L AWD Turbo elevates this experience further with its Deep Red Nappa Leather seats. All variants feature 10-way power adjustment for the driver and 6-way power adjust for the front passenger seat, with the 2.5L AWD Turbo getting standard front seat ventilation.

    Seamless smartphone connectivity is guaranteed with the CX-5’s 8-inch Mazda Connect infotainment system. For 2024, the entire range comes standard with the added convenience of wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless device charging, in addition to Android Auto connectivity.

Last March 16, realme kicked off the Portrait Master Academy with a photowalk in Escolta, Manila. This was led by a commercial photographer, Stephen Capuchino, who showed the Squad how they could be portrait masters with the realme 12 Pro+ 5G.

    Capuchino also shares the latest tips on maximizing the flagship camera technology of realme’s newest device:

    The realme 12 Pro+ 5G allows users to achieve next-level portraits. Simply choose an attractive or eye-catching outdoor background and shoot during the golden hour right before sunset or just after sunrise. After getting that perfect shot, elevate the tone and feel of the photo with realme’s Portrait Mode, and make shots more appealing by applying movie-like filters co-created by Oscar-winning cinematographer Claudio Miranda. These filters are also present when using Photo Mode and Street Mode. 

    Choose between the following filters, based on iconic Hollywood movies:

    • Journey: This dream-like tone is inspired by Life of Pi and features yellow tones and high-contrast colors
    • Memory: The cold tones and low-saturation colors evoke a calm and capable vibe similar to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
    • Maverick: The yellow-green tones, high contrast, and high noise create a retro film-like vibe like Top Gun: Maverick

    Get ready for pixel-peeping

    The ever-evolving mobile photography game has made users particular about zooming into the pixels and checking for high-quality resolution. This phenomenon is known as pixel-peeping.

    For pixel peepers, an essential feature on the realme 12 Pro+ 5G is its 50MP Sony IMX890 OIS Camera – it has the capacity for a large amount of light intake for better photos.     Shooting from a distance may result in low-quality images, but that won’t be the case with the realme 12 Pro+ 5G’s 64MP Periscope Camera. The Periscope Camera allows users to take well-composed photos of their subjects without having to move an inch from where they’re standing.  The Periscope Camera of the realme 12 Pro+ 5G has 3x Optical Zoom, 6x In-Sensor Zoom, and up to 120x SuperZoom. It uses an Omnivision 64B Sensor (1/2” Sensor Size) and supports Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It is also calibrated with realme’s Cinematic Bokeh Algorithms that process photos to make them more natural and have better separation from the subject and the surrounding background.

    The TUDOR Manufacture is the first industrial facility fully dedicated to the TUDOR watchmaking company in its nearly 100-year history. Located in Le Locle, Switzerland, this is where every single TUDOR watch is assembled and fully tested to TUDOR’s superior standards, with some models in the range Master Chronometer-certified here, too. This new state-of-the-art facility, bringing together the traditional know-how of watchmakers with the best in production management technologies and automated testing systems, was completed in 2021 after three years of construction. All decked out in TUDOR red, the manufacture spans over five levels totaling 5,500 square meters and is physically and visually connected to the neighboring Kenissi Manufacture, the TUDOR movement production facility. With Kenissi and a network of TUDOR-owned affiliates, the brand has been able to integrate the development and production of high-performance mechanical calibres. As a consequence, TUDOR now fully masters the manufacturing of strategic components and can guarantee their quality.

    HISTORY

    The TUDOR Manufacture is now a fixture in the bucolic town of Le Locle, located in the Jura Mountains on the northwesternmost border with France in the Canton of Neuchâtel. While the town plays host to a relatively small population of 10,000, the importance of Le Locle in the watchmaking industry cannot be understated. Together with the neighboring town of La Chaux-de-Fonds, the region has been honored as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2009. Initially an important agricultural region, the area became one of the main hubs of watchmaking in Switzerland as early as the 17th century. After fires destroyed much of the town, it was rebuilt to service the growing timekeeping industry, with residential housing mixed with workshops along parallel streets to maximize efficiency.

    The construction of the TUDOR Manufacture started in 2018, with the objective of moving the assembly operations of Montres TUDOR SA from Geneva closer to its affiliates and suppliers in the Jura mountains. The Group owned undeveloped industrial land in Le Locle next to a Rolex facility inaugurated in 1970, making it the perfect site for the TUDOR Manufacture. The signature TUDOR red building was fully completed in 2021 and officially inaugurated in March of 2023 during Switzerland’s premier watchmaking tradeshow, Watches and Wonders.

    BREAKING DOWN THE MANUFACTURE

    The manufacturer is home to a team of 150, all working hard in numerous functions to produce the most reliable and robust watches possible. A core tenet of TUDOR is to ensure that its watches offer the ultimate in value to the consumer. To do this, it has perfected a unique blend of automated production technology with the technical know-how of highly skilled watchmakers. The most cutting-edge technology available, in-building logistics systems, and automated testing are leveraged to offer the best possible watch at the best possible price to the consumer.

    Kenissi – TUDOR’s movement production arm

    Many of TUDOR’s watches feature a Manufacture Calibre, which is developed and assembled at Kenissi, TUDOR’s movement production arm. In fact, the buildings are conjoined. Everything from research and development to final assembly takes place here for TUDOR’s Manufacture Calibres. In addition to TUDOR’s own demands, Kenissi was created in 2010 to develop its industrial production capacity for high-performance mechanical movements. To this end, the brand brought together a group of experts and presented an initial calibre at Baselworld in 2015. The first client of Kenissi besides TUDOR itself was Breitling, and as its business developed, Kenissi formed an industrial alliance with Chanel in 2018. Today, the clients of Kenissi also include, Norqain, Fortis, TAG Heuer, Bell & Ross, and Ultramarine.

    The Kenissi production line exemplifies TUDOR’s commitment to leveraging the power of combining the most advanced tech with the expertise of the human hand. First, the mainplate is mounted on an insert of appropriate diameter embedded with an RFID-TAG. The inserts are put on a shuttle device and enter the assembly line at the first workstation. The RFID-Tag guarantees the correct routing of the soon-to-be calibre. This tech assures the full traceability of the calibre and collects all the assembly data in order to improve product quality, productivity, and assembly processes through big data analysis. After having passed the first fully automated test cycle on the assembly line, all movements are sent to the COSC, the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute. Then it’s off to TUDOR to find a home in a watch.

    Assembly

    The first technological advantage a watchmaker has is a constant positive pressure environment throughout the workshop. In order to mitigate the opportunity for dust ingress into watches and machinery, the TUDOR Manufacture’s HVAC system, located in the basement, plays a crucial role. The system creates a continuous flow of air from the ceiling to the floor so that dust is kept from floating around the workshop.

    To deliver value to the end user, TUDOR doesn’t maintain a stock of assembled watches. Every watch produced is destined to shortly be on a client’s wrist. This means every watch is closely tracked and data can be used to improve efficiency. It also means that the workshop needs to be very flexible, agile and versatile. Watchmakers must master every assembly operation through cross-training. TUDOR achieves this through autonomous cells of four watchmakers that are trained in every discipline of the process. Each bench is laid out in the same way, from its machinery to the contents and organization of its drawers. This is meant to provide a homogenous and ergonomic work environment, optimizing operations and efficiency. The team members of a cell always work together. They train with their cell before being fully operational to create team spirit and improve efficiency. Within the cells, each team member is capable of assembling any reference in the TUDOR collection. One cell covers the three following operations in chronological order: dial-fitting, hand-fitting, and casing.

    Testing

    All TUDOR watches are tested at the TUDOR Manufacture. Every model passes the TUDOR Performance Control, meaning the watch, fully assembled, meets (-2/+4) seconds precision per day if it is equipped with a Manufacture Calibre, (-4/+6) with other calibres. In addition, all watches are tested for waterproofness in hyperbaric water tanks. Some models in the TUDOR range meet the METAS standard, which is much more exacting. Eventually, every TUDOR watch will be Master Chronometer-certified by METAS.

    METAS’ Master Chronometer certification is comprehensive and covers the main functional characteristics of a watch, including precision, resistance to magnetic fields, waterproofness, and power reserve. Its standards are incredibly high, starting with precision. To qualify, a watch must be able to function within a 5-second range of variation each day (0/+5), that is to say, 5 seconds less than the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) (-4/+6) and a second less than TUDOR’s internal standard (-2/+4), which is applied to the brand’s models with a Manufacture Calibre. The certification also guarantees the timekeeping accuracy of a watch subjected to magnetic fields of 15,000 gauss. Finally, it also guarantees that the waterproofness claimed by the manufacturer conforms with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards, as does the power reserve. It should also be noted that two prerequisites are necessary before the certification can be obtained: Swiss manufacturing must conform with the criteria of Swiss Made, and the movement must be certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
