    Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol are on cloud nine as their most-recent outing, Gadar 2, is going great guns and the box office. The sequel to their 2001 blockbuster romantic drama, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Gadar 2, is receiving immense love from audiences of all ages. The movie that sees Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel stepping into the shoes of their iconic characters, Tara Singh and Sakina, after 22 years, Gadar 2 also stars Director Anil Sharma’s son, Utkarsh Sharma, as Jeetey. Now, when the entire nation is gripped by the Gadar fever, the leading lady of Gadar 2 – Ameesha Patel, has opened up about that one thing that she would like to change in the movie. 

    Here’s what Ameesha Patel said about the change in Gadar 2

    In a recent interview with ETimes, when Ameesha Patel was asked about one thing that she wished makers could have done differently with Gadar 2 and what she would like to change in the film, to which the actor replied, “Nothing really but I wish I was the editor. I would have edited and re-edited few things and made it maybe crisper.”

    When asked about her reaction to Gadar 2 success, the Kaho Na Pyaar Hai star responded, “It is phenomenal, crazy, and unbelievable, it’s like history is recreating itself all over again. It’s a bit hard to digest, it is still sinking in because we knew that the audiences love Tara and Sakina and we know that the audience has lived with them for 22 years but this outburst of love is very overwhelming.”

    Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma in the leading roles. It also stars Manish Wadhwa as the lead antagonist along with Simrat Kaur, Gaurav Chopra, and Luv Sinha in supporting roles. In Gadar 2, Tara Singh takes the story ahead and goes to Pakistan to find his son, Jeetey. Gadar 2 clashed with Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam’s OMG 2, however, the film still managed to become a blockbuster by earning Rs 284 crore in the first week of its release.

    Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel are returning to the big screens as Tara Singh and Sakina with Gadar 2. The iconic film has a special place in everyone’s heart and now it is returning. Gadar 2’s trailer was released yesterday and it was an absolute treat to watch. Tara Singh and Sakina’s story is moving forward, and the action sequences were just fabulous. The good part of the film would be that some of the original dialogues and songs have been kept and it literally gives goosebumps. The story of Gadar 2 is about Sunny Deol aka Tara Singh compelled to return to Pakistan to save his son (Utkarsh Sharma).     The cast of the film, Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Simrat Kaur, Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra and others were present yesterday for the trailer launch of the film.     Sunny Deol who is also a Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MP from Punjab’s Gurdaspur was asked a question on India-Pakistan hatred. He said, “Baat insaniyat ki hoti hai kuch lene dene ki nahi. Dono taraf utna hi pyaar hai. Jhagde nahi hone chahiye. Ye siyaasi khel hota hai vo nafrateein paida karta hai. Yahi aap dekhenge iss film mein bhi. Janta bhi nahi chahti ye jhagde. Akhir sab hai toh issi mitti se.” (It is about humanity and nothing about giving and taking. There is love in both the sides and fights should not happen. It is the political game that creates hatred and this is what you all will see in the film. People do not want these fights after all everyone is from the same soil.)     Sunny Deol also spoke about what he thinks on the Box Office of Gadar 2. He said, “Gadar toh bani thi uske logo ne Gadar banayi. Mai bass umeed karta hu ki log isse bhi Gadar banaye. Puri umeed hai ki ban jayegi baki August 11 dekhenge.” (Gadar was made but people actually made it Gadar. I hope they make this film also Gadar and I believe it will happen. Let’s see what happens on August 11.)

    Gadar 2 is all set to release on August 11, 2023.

    Urfi Javed is irked with Ameesha Patel

    Taking to her Insta stories, Urfi Javed shared the link of Ameesha Patel’s interview link and shared that she is irked with her statements. In the message she took a dig at Ameesha Patel using her film title ‘Kaho na Pyar Hai’ and asked whether it was only for straight people. She penned that public figures who speak about sensitive topics without educating themselves leave her angry. She even called Ameesha Patel a bitter person. Urfi Javed wrote, “What is actually gayism, lesbianism? Keep your children away from it? So when she said ‘kaho na Pyar hai’ she meant only straight people. Public figures speaking without educating themselves on such sensitive topics really irks me!     In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ameesha Patel spoke about OTT content and said, “People are waiting for good, clean cinema. The era where you could make cinema that a grandchild could sit and watch with a grandparent is completely missing. OTT for sure doesn’t give you that. Because OTT is full of, homosexuality, gay-lesbianism… Scenes that you have to cover your kids’ eyes or actually put a child lock on your television so they can’t access those platforms.” This comment got reactions from many.

    Before this, Ameesha Patel hit headlines as she made shocking comments against Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma. She accused the makers of nonpayment of dues and mismanagement on sets of Sunny Deol‘s Gadar 2. She wrote about bills not being paid for accomodation, food, and more.

    The actress while talking to an entertainment news portal shares that she still continues to maintain her stand. She adds that she does not think that Basic Instinct is a bad film. Ameesha calls Sharon Stone a goddess. She also praised Jism calling it fantastic and praising the performances too. “All I am saying is why Bipasha. I am not comfortable being a Sharon Stone,” she adds. The actress further states that it takes guts to be so bold physically. Ameesha Patel shares that she can be hot and sexy but is she comfortable with the boldness and skin show on screen? She clearly said no.     The actress gave an example of her song Lazy Lamhe in Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic. She said that she was the first heroine to have the guts to tell Aditya Chopra that she won’t wear a bikini in a Yash Raj Film. She told the leading producer that she is not comfortable and was ready to walk out of the film as well. “It was not said in bad taste towards Bipasha because I think she was amazing,” Ameesha adds.     Bipasha Ameesha row over Jism

    Years ago, Ameesha Patel had claimed that she won’t be comfortable doing films like Jism since it will upset her grandmother. Bipasha Basu was asked about the same by Karan Johar on Koffee with Karan. Bipasha had said that Ameesha would have been able to do the movie since she lacked her physical characteristics. Bipasha said that Ameesha is too petite for the role. “You need to be a woman, like a total package, not just bodily but you have to have a very strong personality. I think she is too petite, too small to do that. Her whole frame is wrong,” Bipasha had said.

    Gadar 2 is releasing on 11th August 2023.
