Oh This? It’s J.Crew—28 Just-Dropped Finds That Make Casual Elegance Look Easy

    [ad_1]

J.Crew might be known for its preppy aesthetic, but fortunately for us, it’s not the one that starts with whale-embroidered chinos at the club and ends with pink-and-green paisley on a catamaran. Rather, the J.Crew of 2023 is all about preppy fashion that errs on the side of casual, laid-back elegance—no intense effort or seven-digit net worth required. For proof, all you need to see is the brand’s fall drop, which landed on J.Crew’s website this week and features a bevy of relaxed but rich-looking finds worthy of a purchase ahead of the fast-approaching season.

Among the just-released fall items are viral-prone footwear, ranging from penny loafers to sculptural wedges; dangerously cozy knits; and lots of outerwear for all of the different weather situations we’ll surely be put in before the end of 2023. And those are just the highlights. Scroll down to shop all of our favorite new pieces from J.Crew’s fall reveal

Jennifer Lawrence and Barbara Palvin Are Already Wearing the Next It-Girl Watch

    [ad_1]

I’ve been obsessed with Swiss watches since my trip to Switzerland back in January. I’ll admit that I previously only had a fleeting interest in watches, but that trip solidified my newfound passion. In the months since then, I’ve made it my mission to include timepieces in as many Who What Wear stories (and TikToks) as possible, which is why I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to attend and cover a new launch event.

Swiss luxury watchmaker Longines invited me to an elegant dinner party in New York City to celebrate its brand-new Mini DolceVita watch. The piece comes in 11 different variations, with strap options in both stainless steel and leather. Naturally, the event attracted an exceptionally well-dressed crowd, including campaign star Jennifer Lawrence as well as Bae Suzy, Mikaela Shiffrin, newlywed Barbara Palvin, and others. Wearing a Tom Ford dress, Lawrence took to the stage to introduce the new piece, which will surely become the next It-girl watch thanks to her endorsement. Scroll down to see how Lawrence and Palvin styled the watch on the red carpet and shop it for yourself.

  • Selena Gomez Wore the Prada-Approved Styling Trick That Makes Every Look Chicer

Selena Gomez Wore the Prada-Approved Styling Trick That Makes Every Look Chicer

    [ad_1]

Since Paris Fashion Week is just around the corner, it should come as no surprise that most of the chicest celebrities are either already unpacked and wandering around the City of Lights or will be very soon. One such A-lister is Selena Gomez, whose IG stories have been blowing up with show-stopping outfits courtesy of her new stylist Erin Walsh, including thigh-high, patent leather stiletto boots paired with an Alaïa poplin minidress as well as a long-sleeve leopard-print maxi. But of all the looks the Rare Beauty founder’s debuted thus far on her Paris trip, the one I’m most interested in is by far her most paired back of the bunch.

On Sunday, Gomez was spotted leaving the Hôtel Plaza Athénée on her way to an event at the Bulgari Hôtel wearing a gray blazer-and-capris set with a white corset and matching GCDS handbag, baby-blue Paris Texas heels, and a blue poplin shirt with the collar perfectly popped and peaking out from underneath her tailored outerwear. To top off the evening’s ensemble, she added gold hoop earrings and a cocktail ring from Jennifer Fisher.

Surprisingly enough, it wasn’t the on-trend capris or the chic color pairing that caught my eye about the look, though both were certainly note-worthy. Rather, what I noticed immediately about it was the peek-a-boo collar, a styling trick that I first saw rise up at Prada’s fall/winter 2023 show and then again outside of the Italian brand’s spring/summer 2024 show in Milan last week. Small but extremely impactful, the simple unveiling of a statement collar from underneath a blazer or coat made her outfit tenfold more dynamic and interesting.

Master the subtle styling move by scrolling through a handful of genius examples below, from Gomez’s Paris look to street style snaps from Milan

The Trend Sofia Richie Has Worn to Every Fashion Week Event Is a 2023 Vibe

    [ad_1]

New celebrity fashion It girl Sofia Richie Grainge is booked and busy, and for the past few weeks, those bookings have meant seats on the front row of some of the biggest S/S 24 fashion shows. And naturally, we need to discuss what she’s been wearing for these very high-profile occasions.

If you take one look at Richie Grainge’s fashion month outfits for both New York and Milan, you’ll instantly recognize what her favorite fall trend is, and that trend is red. Specifically, it’s red accents. For her fashion month days thus far, she has opted to wear mostly neutral-colored pieces combined with pops of red, whether via shoes, a turtleneck, a printed skirt, or a bag.

It’s become clear as of late that the most “fashion person” way to wear the red trend is sparingly. (Although, I’m betting you’ll see many takes on the trend throughout the season.) One thing that’s becoming increasingly clear—and has now been confirmed by Richie Grainge—is that the red trend is poised to be everywhere. Accordingly, scroll to see her fashion month looks and shop red accents for your own wardrobe.

Prada Beauty Debuted on the Runway—And Proved Matte Lips Are Fall’s Best Trend

    [ad_1]

Last week, Prada’s SS24 Ready-to-Wear show in Milan caused a major stir in the fashion world. From Prada slime to a star-studded front row to a standing ovation for the line itself, the show is basically all anyone in fashion can talk about.

In the beauty realm, Prada also didn’t disappoint. Though the beauty look was understated, it was uniquely suited to each model’s complexion. Not only that, but every beauty look was created using Prada’s new beauty line. Prada Beauty Global Creative Makeup Artist Lynsey Alexander went for matte skin and lips, and wanted to focus on the eyes. We’ve been saying matte lips are about to make a huge comeback, and Prada just helped us prove it.

Keep reading for every Prada makeup product used on the Milan runway. Though Prada Beauty has technically yet to launch in the United States, but many of the products are already available on the website—and trust us when we say, they are worth the splurge.

Meet Kavi Ahuja Moltz: The Creative Force Behind Fragrance Brand D.S. & Durga

    [ad_1]

In the ever-evolving world of fragrance, where scents transport us to different realms and awaken our senses, D.S. & Durga has emerged as a beacon of olfactory artistry. As the visionary creative director and CEO of D.S. & Durga, Kavi Ahuja Moltz is transforming the perfume industry.

In 2007, Moltz and her now husband, David, embarked on a fragrant journey, launching D.S. & Durga right from their apartment in the heart of Brooklyn. Fast-forward to today, and their brand has grown significantly with a dynamic line of perfumes, candles, and bodycare products featured in their beautifully curated brick-and-mortar stores, at luxury retailers like Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus as well as via direct-to-consumer shopping. They are the ultimate husband-and-wife duo. David is the “nose” behind the brand as a self-taught perfumer creating the signature fragrances that have garnered a loyal following like Debaser, I Don’t Know What, and Rose Atlantic. And Moltz is at the helm of the creative aspects of the brand, shaping its visual identity and leaving an indelible mark on the world of scent.

Moltz’s keen eye for design has undoubtedly set the brand apart in the beauty industry; thus, it comes as no surprise that her early career path was built on design. In fact, she began her career studying and working in architecture, fostering lifelong skills she still uses today with D.S. & Durga.

Ask any fashion editor and they’ll reluctantly share that their secret to buying expensive-looking knitwear for fall is H&M. From rib-knit dresses to cashmere crewnecks the Swedish retailer never misses when it comes to cozy, soft pieces that not only bring us comfort but also exude luxurious vibes. In fact, all the knits I’ve selected today look way more expensive than their price tag. H&M’s latest knitwear drop is also filled with trend-forward styles that look like they came straight off the runway. Think cinched waists, peplum silhouettes, and trending gray hues, along with the classic cuts you’ll reach for time and time again. I scoured their entire collection of knitwear and below, I’m sharing the styles I’m most excited about for the forthcoming drop in temperature. • This “Squishy” New It Bag Just Took NYC By Storm

This “Squishy” New It Bag Just Took NYC By Storm

    [ad_1]

When each New York Fashion Week concludes, one of the first things I do is try to pinpoint potential It items based on what the fashion crowd and celebrities wore to the shows. I have to admit that it wasn’t that difficult to spot the new It bag this season, as the streets of New York and our Instagram feeds have been flooded with it since NYFW. The bag I’m referring to is the Loewe Squeeze Bag.

The slouchy, ruched hobo shoulder bag is constructed of buttery soft nappa lambskin and is adorned with a metal chain and a “squishy” leather handle, which is where it gets its name. The bag comes in two sizes (small and medium) and an array of colors to choose from, but I regret to inform you that the bag is sold out everywhere. This is hardly surprising, given the instant popularity of the bag and the high-profile fans of it, but be sure to keep an eye out for restocks. In the meantime, read on to see how celebrities like Sofia Richie Grainge and Emily Ratajkowski, along with the fashion crowd are wearing it, and shop other Loewe It bags that people can’t get enough of right now.

  • Dan Levy on DL Eyewear’s Bold New Drop and Building the Ideal Optical Wardrobe

Dan Levy on DL Eyewear’s Bold New Drop and Building the Ideal Optical Wardrobe

    [ad_1]

In the same way your regular wardrobe should be a curated mix of classic standbys, timeless luxury staples, and trendier favorites, so should your optical wardrobe. Yes, we said optical wardrobe. Whether you wear glasses every day or simply for recreational purposes, eyewear is a key accessory to any look that should be equal parts practical and fun. It’s this thinking that was the catalyst for Emmy-winning writer, director, and actor Dan Levy’s optical line, DL Eyewear. The result of decades of experimentation, DL Eyewear has become the ultimate destination for special frames at an accessible price point that people will both love to wear and collect.

For its latest collection, the brand has thrown the traditional fall/winter handbook out the window by opting for big, bold color. Think kelly green, cerulean, and cherry red. Best-selling styles, like the mod-inspired Maxwell and the playful cat-eye Pelican, have been given an exciting bright update. We have our eyes on the Pelican in Racer Red to complement our favorite crimson pieces this fall. The collection also features a new style, a beautifully crafted metal aviator silhouette called Heath, which is offered in three tinted lenses—Raspberry Mirror, Navy, and Coffee.

Ahead of the fall drop, which is now available online, we caught up with Levy to talk about the new styles he loves, how to build the perfect optical wardrobe, and his eyewear icons.

The new DL Eyewear launched this week. Can you tell us about the inspiration for these new styles? What was on your mood board?

Color! Big, bold color. We wanted to infuse the often dreaded fall/winter with some warmth, life, and excitement.

We know you are very thoughtful about your drops. What was a big design consideration for this collection?

A lot of it was reappropriating best-selling frames like Pelican and Maxwell, offering them in exciting new colorways while also introducing a new shape—our wire Heath frame in both optical and sun. I love it so much and have been wearing the optical frames as my new day-to-day.

What are the fall eyewear trends (shapes, colors, etc.) you are really loving right now?

I’m just enjoying the fact that we’ve gotten to this place with eyewear where people are having fun and collecting. That’s been our mission from the start, to inspire people to build eyewear collections and use them like they would any other accessory.

Can you talk a little about this idea of building an optical wardrobe? What should every optical wardrobe have?

As someone who wears glasses every day, the reality is some shapes or colors go better with certain outfits than others. For example, I tend to prefer bolder frames with suiting to give the formality of the look a more playful, nostalgic edge. I’ve been wearing the new Heath frame with a T-shirt and jeans when I’m feeling more low-key. Eyewear is a crucial accessory when it comes to polishing up a look. For so long, we’ve been conditioned to look at glasses as a more practical thing, something we should only buy one pair of. It’s a new day, baby! Let’s party.

At this point, how many pairs of frames do you have in your optical wardrobe?

Oh boy. At this point, including all the samples we’ve made, upwards of around 100?

Which styles from DL Eyewear are currently on heavy rotation for you?

Optical, I rotate through Heath, Chorley, and Beaumont. Sun, I’ve been loving the Maxwells. Our Moore frame is the perfect everyday frame.

What would you say is one of DL Eyewear’s most popular styles?

Whitehall and Rose are the first frames I designed, and they remain some of our best sellers. Moore and Pelican, we can’t seem to keep [them] in stock. I love checking in on the website to see what people are buying.

As someone who has been wearing eyewear since the age of 8, what are the telltale signs of a really great pair of frames and things we should look for? What should we steer clear of?

Fit. The right frame should flatter your face, punctuate your cheekbones, and make you feel good. Also, a mistake a lot of people make is choosing frames that sit too high or too low on their nose. It’s tricky to get that right fit, which is why we try to offer a frame for every face shape.

Funny question, but who are some of your eyewear icons?

Elton John changed the game. Jackie O, Paul Newman, James Dean. Harry Styles has done a lot for eyewear recently.

I’ve Never Been a Revolve Girl, But Consider Me Converted by These 32 Fall Finds

    [ad_1]

Though I shopped at Revolve probably too much in high school (back before the company dropped the word “clothing” in its domain name), I almost never do in my adult life. As someone whose style errs more on the hushed, timeless side as opposed to the colorful, lively one, I never really thought there was anything for me there apart from the occasional in-stock sneaker or chic Helsa dress. But with a new season approaching, I thought I’d use it as an excuse to give Revolve another chance. It’s the least I could do for the brand that supplied me with my junior-year prom dress. (It was coral, but so was everyone’s in 2013.)

Following an afternoon-long scroll through Revolve’s fall arrivals, I’m officially ready to admit that I’d been 100% wrong to think that the retailer wasn’t fully stocked with pieces that would perfectly align with my more minimalist style preferences. In fact, my findings were some of the best fall pieces I’ve discovered all season, and that includes things from my tried-and-true stores and designers. From ’90s-inspired strapless dresses to elegant basics including knitwear, trousers, and outerwear, the 32 items below converted me. Consider me a Revolve girl from now on.

Altuzarra has teamed up with shopping destination Rakuten to bring its understated Peggy dress straight from New York Fashion Week to your home, far ahead of the 2024 Spring/Summer season.

The pretty dress has a special worn-in texture that the Altuzarra team developed by knitting with yarn that has a metal core. And, it comes with a lingerie-inspired slip for effortless dressing, a key theme in this special collection.

Immediately following the designer’s star-studded runway show with Nicky Hilton, Steph Shep, and Lucy Hale, fashion lovers are able to purchase the incredible knit dress until September 25, scoring 10% cash back via Rakuten.

So, how did this clever shopping collab come together? Joseph Altuzarra saw it as an opportunity to speak directly to a new customer whom the brand may have not been reaching before—and not just limit access to the editors and influencers who attend shows IRL in NYC.

“New York has an energy and vibrancy that is fueled by fresh perspectives, new designs, and fast-paced atmospheres,” explains Altuzarra. “I was born and raised in Paris, and when I arrived in New York, I felt a sort of freedom in the vibrancy.”

Selena Gomez fans have been in a really good mood lately. Not only did she shut down the red carpet at the VMAs last week, but she also treated us to a stellar after-party look. Now, she’s gracing us with her presence at yet another event just a week later. Attending the Music + Health Summit in Los Angeles, Gomez wore a Giuseppe di Morabito pantsuit along with Tiffany & Co. jewelry.

There’s so much to love about this outfit, starting with the oversize blazer worn casually over the shoulders, the beautiful corset top, and the on-trend wide-leg trousers, which Princess Kate is also a fan of. However, my absolute favorite thing about this look is the color. Striking, stylish, and oh so cool, the hue is giving major Barbie vibes. Kendall Jenner’s Flat Shoes Make the No-Pants Look So Much Easier to Pull Off

    [ad_1]

New York Kendall Jenner is my favorite Kendall Jenner. Yes, she’s very chic wherever she goes, but the outfits she wears when visiting NYC are especially cool and forward. Her latest outfit to go out to lunch in the city was exactly that—no pants required.

For the occasion, Jenner wore an oversize button-down and nothing else. (Although, she appeared to be wearing hot pants in some photos, as the “pants-less” outfit trend is often just an illusion.) This outfit trend can certainly be intimidating, but the shoes Jenner styled her pants-less look with actually make it less so. Those shoes are none other than loafers—specifically, a The Row pair she’s been wearing all over New York City.

The simple black loafers really grounded the look and made it more low-key and effortless than, say, a pair of stilettos or tall boots would have. If you’re intrigued, scroll on to see Jenner’s cool no-pants outfit and shop similar loafers.

I am on a never-ending quest for better hair. It seems like I’ve tried every shampoo, conditioner, leave-in, serum, and oil on the market to try to make my hair look shampoo-commercial-good. It seems I have a new product to try in my quest for good hair: Kérastase Elixir Ultime Original Oil

This hair oil is a longtime celeb favorite. The most recent star to use it is Hayden Panettiere, who just debuted pink and green “watermelon” hair. She shared that Kérastase Elixir Ultime Original Oil helps keep her hair healthy through every fun color she tries.

Panettiere is the most recent celebrity to share her love of Kérastase’s oil, but it has a slew of other celebrity fans. Jennifer Aniston, Meghan Markle, Emily Ratajkowski, Alix Earle and Olivia Rodrigo all love this hair oil too, according to the brand. In fact, one bottle sells every three minutes.

There’s a reason Kérastase Elixir Ultime Original Oil has so many fans. It’s made with a mixture of camellia oil, argan oil, and marula oil, which work in tandem with one another to nourish and strengthen hair. The oil helps protect hair against heat damage and humidity, boosts shine, and prevents breakage and frizz. Consider me convinced—I will be adding it to my personal hair routine ASAP.

The inky marker tip is soaked in a lightweight, subtle, and easily blendable formula. The Top New York Fashion Week Trends, According to Our Editors

    [ad_1]

    KC: What else trend-wise?

EH: Another one is this trend that we called ready-to-wear [last season], which is just this hyper-wearable trend that skews away from those really loud, hard-to-style pieces and is just super classic.

If you buy into it, you can have those pieces for the rest of your life, and they’re not boring. You can still style them up in really, really interesting ways using things like those chrome moments or plenty of other styling methods. We saw a ton of it this week. Tibi’s whole collection really felt like a “building blocks of your wardrobe” type of collection. Proenza [Schouler] had those loud moments as well, but really at the backbone of it were really classic, timeless pieces.

KC: At first glance, overall, there was a trend of quietness on the runway. Sometimes, you want to be shocked and awed by the visuals of it, but I do think the wearability element… I’m glad that designers are taking this into consideration, and it does feel like the runway to real way is not such a big gap anymore.

Bella Hadid Is Already Wearing Spring 2024’s Biggest Runway Trend So Far

    [ad_1]

We’re only halfway through fashion month, yet one trend is already shaping up to be the favorite of the entire calendar: capri pants. The not-too-short, not-too-long bottoms made a surprising comeback during New York Fashion Week, with appearances at Tory Burch, Phillip Lim, Mirror Palais, and Sandy Liang. Already, we’ve gotten a glimpse at the style’s first celebrity endorsement.

This week, Bella Hadid was spotted on a helipad in Manhattan after arriving in the city alongside her brother Anwar. For the trip, she chose an oversize button-down shirt, a white tank top, satin Miu Miu ballet flats, and *the* trend of the spring/summer 2024 runway season, a pair of white capri pants. On the accessory front, she added a burgundy satchel, a Y2K headband, and thin hoop earrings.

It should come as no surprise that the supermodel is the first to take the formerly outdated capri-pant trend out for a test-drive. After all, she’s known for her love of early-aughts styling and testing the boundaries when it comes to street style. Now that they have her stamp of approval, there’s no question about it: Capri pants are back. Accept it. Scroll down to see her travel outfit and shop the trend before it blows up.
