A National Movement and a National App Join Forces to Educate, Empower Trafficking Victims

The nationally acclaimed movement ‘More Too Life,’ founded by Dr. Brook Parker Bello, has joined forces with the CEO and Founder of the See Something, Send Something App, Kevin Angell, to create an interactive platform for trafficking victims in an effort to provide support, education and empower them through achievable goals.

    Press Release

    updated: Oct 3, 2018

Dr. Brook Parker Bello, Founder and CEO/ED of More Too Life, Inc., is a highly sought-after international speaker, champion against human trafficking and teacher in what she calls “Digital Integrity, Intelligence, and Safety.” She has been recognized with countless achievement awards, fellows and appointments, and most recently was named a Google Next-Gen Policy Leader, with the ability to learn from leading Google executives and other leaders in profound aspects that deal with world issues in relation to tech and tech policy.

Bello, a Lifetime Achievement Award recipient from the 44thPresident of the United States, isn’t done yet. She’s looking to expand her outreach through a small but mighty piece of technology and soon her clients will be able to find it in both the iOS and Android Marketplace. She says, “More Too Life, Inc. is an anti-sexual violence, human trafficking, and youth crime prevention organization, and smart device interaction with their clients will help educate and empower them.”

More Too Life is an anti-sexual violence, human trafficking and youth crime prevention organization that was named by United Way Worldwide as one of the best in the nation.

Dr. Brook Parker Bello, Founder and CEO/ED of More Too Life, Inc.,

This past summer, Dr. Bello crossed professional paths with CEO Kevin Angell, who founded and released a nationally known app keenly named ‘See Something, Send Something.’ The name, a play on words from the Department of Homeland Security’s initiative to see something, say something, describes appropriately what the app does. “Users can document suspicious or criminal behavior with their smart device and send the information directly to local law enforcement,” Angell said. The app is already in use by more than 200 agencies across the country and another 100 school districts.

The synergy between Dr. Bello’s movement and Angell’s app was electric if not apparent by their immediate friendship over their devotion to help the community. Following a few round-table discussions, they decided to team up and release a powerful app spin-off from another platform Bello built from the ground up. The new app, not yet named but scheduled for a 2019 release, will allow clients to interact with mentors, advocates, request resources, achieve milestones through goals set by More Too Life staff and much more. Additionally, the secure case management platform will encourage better communication through expanded availability.

Angell has personally contributed to the app’s development costs by investing more than $10,000 to get started. They hope to raise additional funds through community investors, board members, and fundraising campaigns for their companies marketing budget.

Both Dr. Bello and Angell have hinted at future add-ins or a companion to the app but kept their cards close to the vest when pressed for details.

As Catastrophic Hurricanes Strike the US and Caribbean, Prophet Predicts 100 Feet of Global Sea Level Rise

Amidst the devastation of Irma and Harvey, Marshall Vian Summers presents a controversial prophecy that would redraw the map of our world

    Press Release

    updated: Sep 8, 2017

As Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Jose trigger catastrophic wind, rain and storm surge across Texas, Florida and the Caribbean, American prophet Marshall Vian Summers is presenting a new and controversial prophecy regarding the impacts of a changing climate, warming oceans and strengthening storms.

He calls this The Great Waves Prophecy and claims the global events detailed in this prophetic message will literally redraw the map of our world.

The seas will rise. Within the next century and a half, they will rise over 100 feet. The coastal cities and ports of the world could be flooded in 30 years. The lands will dry out. The crops will fail. There will be human migration on a scale never seen.

Marshall Vian Summers, Prophet and Messenger

Marshall Vian Summers is the founder and central figure of the Worldwide Community of God’s New Message, a religious movement with members in more than 70 countries who study the books of what they say is a new Revelation from God being given to humanity today.

Summers says The Great Waves Prophecy is a series of divine predictions revealed in the New Message from God, a multi-thousand-page Revelation spoken to him over a 30 year period, with its central warning delivered in the book The Great Waves of Change.

In a video released on Aug. 30 on YouTube, Summers presents the Great Waves Prophecy, which says that global sea level will rise “over 100 feet” in 150 years and that many ports and coastal cities worldwide will be flooded in just 30 years.

According to Summers, The Great Waves Prophecy is a warning from God that contains the following divine messages:

    • “The seas will rise. Within the next century and a half, they will rise over 100 feet…for you have changed the chemistry of the atmosphere so sufficiently that the planet will become hotter and the waters will rise. The oceans will rise and they will continue to rise, consuming everything in their wake. Great droughts and storms will lash upon the world as they are beginning to do now.” (From The Great Warning)
    • “The coastal cities and ports of the world could be flooded in 30 years. The lands will dry out. The crops will fail. There will be human migration on a scale never seen.” (From The Global Emergency)
    • “With the seas rising, all of your coastal cities and ports will be inundated in time, and much of your great and best farmland will be lost.” (From The Fields of Despair)
    • “Large areas of the world that are now highly inhabited will become uninhabitable … there will be immense migrations of people away from such areas and … there will be environmental refugees, and there will be war refugees on a scale never seen before.” (From The Great Waves Prophecy)

As climate change increases the destructive power of hurricanes and storms worldwide, Marshall Vian Summers continues to reveal what he says are prophecies of a New Message from God, revealing the true scope of the crisis facing humanity and how we, as individuals, communities and nations, must act to safeguard the survival of humanity.

Here Summers says, “Through the New Message from God and through the deeper spiritual mind within us, God is giving us what we need to be safe, to be stable and to prosper in a changing world, a changing world unlike anything we have ever seen before.”

  • Crime Reduction Film ‘Street Stars’ Finally Released

Crime Reduction Film ‘Street Stars’ Finally Released

    Press Release

    updated: Jun 18, 2017

A new documentary that looks at solutions to crime and violence has been released (June 16, 2017). This first of its kind film, brings together leaders, activists and people who have lived a street life of crime. The activist film, “Street Stars: A Crime Reduction Theory” documents evidence-based solutions as well as some stark responses to a myriad of questions related to the root causes of crime and violence.  Street Stars was released digitally via Vimeo and can be viewed at www.vimeo.com/ondemand/streetstars.

The director of the film is criminology professor and Howard law school graduate Opio Sokoni. His last film project was about Bessie Coleman – the first black woman to fly an airplane. The pioneering aviator crashed and died in 1926 one day before a big airshow in Jacksonville, Florida. This city is also the scene of much of his current film. He stuck with his trademark use of incredible independent music – mainly from Portland, Oregon artists. Music with messages is Sokoni’s strategy of helping to place front and center some evidenced-based programs that are working in communities.

The activist film, “Street Stars: A Crime Reduction Theory” documents evidence-based solutions as well as some stark responses to a myriad of questions related to the root causes of crime and violence.

    Opio Sokoni, Media Director

“We started making the Street Stars film in mid-2015 and finally got it done,” says Opio. He continued, “I just think about that family who, possibly because of this film, will not have to experience a tragedy.” Federal judge Brian Davis, former Mayor John Peyton, community developer Paul Tutwiler and former Jaguars player Tony Boselli all appear in the film. In addition, various successful men and women who have experienced the pitfalls of that life provide invaluable dialogue. Another great addition to the project is local music group Cutt Circle. Their viral music videos deal with the high-pressure circumstances of the streets. Their contributions to the discussions around crime and violence is extraordinary.

The two-hour film has a run time of 2 hours. The Director’s Cut has strong language. A “16 and Up” rating is suggested by the director for the film. Viewers will be able to log on to www.filmingstreetstars.com and watch the film on cell phones, computers and on their HD TVs at home. Sokoni says he hopes his city and others that are experiencing high levels of crime will look at Street Stars: A Crime Reduction Theory. He plans to market it in the top 20 most violent cities in the United States. “It is my hope that practitioners and people who can reach other people in power or on the streets will see this and be even more inspired to take action, says Opio Sokoni.

Bellefit Maternity Partners With Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center to Aid in Women’s Rehabilitation Efforts

    Press Release

    updated: Mar 23, 2017

Bellefit Maternity is no stranger to the challenges many women face. Its line of postpartum girdles is just one way the company has been making a positive impact in the lives of new moms. Launched in 2008, Bellefit girdles have helped thousands of women around the world not only find comfort after having a baby but discover happiness and enjoy more confidence in their bodies.

The family-owned company has expanded its outreach even further through a new partnership with the Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center in Pembroke Pines, Fla. The SBA Center has been providing rehabilitation from substance abuse to expectant mothers and women with children since 1995. One of only a few full-service recovery centers in the United States, the Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center provides residential and outpatient treatment in a loving, structured environment, where a woman can receive the support she needs while living with and caring for her children.

Our hope for women at the Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center is that they continue to find the courage, strength & support to improve the quality of their lives, so they can give the best of themselves to their children.

    Cynthia Suarez, Bellefit Founder

On March 3, Bellefit Maternity began an ongoing initiative to donate Postpartum Recovery Girdles to Women at the SBA Recovery Center who are expecting a baby or have recently given birth. The company’s general manager, Andy Suarez, and public relations manager, Carolina Suarez-Garcia, met with the residents and shared Bellefit’s story and provided education about the postpartum benefits of using a Bellefit girdle.

Additionally, Bellefit donated $1000 to the SBA Recovery Center’s ‘Room to Grow’ Program. This program is raising funds to build a new room & board wing at the SBA Recovery Center which will increase the number of women who can be admitted to the Center.

Bellefit founder Cynthia Suarez recalled how much her own daughter struggled after having children, so she developed the product to alleviate the discomfort of an incision from a C-section and also provide a much-needed boost of confidence to recovering moms.

“Being a mom of four and a grandmother of seven, I know, first-hand, how challenging motherhood can be,” Suarez said.

It was through the Center’s partnership with The Rotary Club of Weston that Suarez’s son, Andy, a Rotarian, met Whitney Hughson, associate director of marketing at the SBARC. When Hughson shared the stories of moms who struggle with addiction while trying to raise their children and how the Center helps women lead healthier, more productive lives, Suarez knew Bellefit needed to get involved.

“Bellefit Girdles are known to make moms’ lives easier after childbirth and give them a boost of confidence during a time when women are focused on their baby and usually feel guilty about caring for themselves,” Suarez said.

Helping to reduce uterus swelling by safely supporting and compressing the abdominal and lumbar regions, the girdles provide a faster and more comfortable postpartum recovery for those who have undergone a C-section or natural childbirth, or for those experiencing diastasis recti or pain.

Suarez called the partnership a perfect match.

“Our hope for women at the Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center is that they continue to find the courage, strength and support to improve the quality of their lives, so they can give the best of themselves to their children,” she said. With housing for approximately 60 women at any given time during rehabilitation and an outpatient program that extends far beyond that, the Center is certain to see positive benefits from the generous Bellefit partnership.

JustBOGOS, First of Its Kind Grocery Savings App, Expands to Android

JustBOGOS provides those who don’t have the time to clip coupons or search the weekly ads, with a way to save effortlessly on groceries.

    Press Release

    updated: Feb 7, 2017

JustBOGOS, the first-of-its-kind grocery savings app, is now available on both Android and iPhone, with the recent launch of the Android app.  The free app saves Users money effortlessly on their groceries by distributing BOGO (Buy One, Get One) alerts to ensure that Users never miss their favorite grocery BOGO deals again.  The app currently sends alerts to Florida residents who shop at Publix, Winn-Dixie and Sedano’s supermarkets, and last month began expansion into North Carolina with Publix alerts.

JustBOGOS is a simple yet revolutionary concept.  After a User signs up and confirms their location and preferred grocery stores, they gain access to a consolidated “at-a-glance” summary of all local Buy One, Get One sales currently available across multiple supermarkets:  All in one place.  Then, each week when new BOGO’s become available, Users receive an alert which contains the quick-reading list all of the new BOGO’s.

The app has been featured twice on the front page of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel’s Money section, lots of new Users join daily, and last month expanded outside of Florida, beginning with Charlotte, North Carolina. The startup is also seeking business partnership opportunities.

    Jason Taub, Founder, JustBOGOS

Items are sorted by store and department, and can be added to a custom Shopping List for quick in-store access.  Users can also add their favorite brands or products to their list of Favorites within the app, for custom alerts when any of those items become BOGO in their local supermarkets.  Between these features and the built-in Notepad feature, users have on-the-go access to their grocery shopping list and complete control over the type of alerts they receive and how they’d like to receive them – Via app notifications, email, or both.

Knowledge is power.  With JustBOGOS, knowledge equals savings and Users are always in-the-know of what’s currently BOGO at any given moment, allowing them to stock up on their favorites.  JustBOGOS provides those who don’t have the time to clip coupons or search the weekly ads, with a way to save effortlessly by receiving instant notifications of which BOGO sales are currently available and where to get them.

The initial concept launched in 2014 in the form of email-based alerts from JustBOGOS.com.  Due to the popularity of the free service, work on the iOS app began quickly, and the app for iPhone and iPad launched in November 2015.  Most recently, in late 2016, the Android version of the app was launched.  The app is available in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, completely free.  Those who prefer email-based alerts only can sign up at www.JustBOGOS.com.

When JustBOGOS Founder Jason Taub was asked where the idea came from, he explains how he grew tired of driving to the grocery store, picking up the weekly ad, manually searching for his favorite BOGO sales, only to find out that none of them were available.  He wished there was a way he could receive an alert every time his favorite groceries became BOGO.  The problem was, there was nothing out there like it.  So that’s when Taub set out to build it.

JustBOGOS is continuously expanding.  The app has been featured twice on the front page of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel’s Money section, lots of new Users join daily, and last month expanded outside of Florida, beginning with Charlotte, North Carolina.  The startup is also seeking business partnership opportunities.

The app is available to both iOS and Android Users by searching for “JustBOGOS in the app stores, or by going to www.JustBOGOS.com.

Activities included face painting, arts and crafts and a bouncy house, and a child-sized train took its young passengers for tours of the park.

Six local nonprofit organizations set up booths at the event: Team Florida Football and Hard 2 Guard Basketball that help young athletes train and improve their education; Groupo Folklorico Mahetzy, that promotes the culture of Mexico through music and dance; Americans for Prosperity Florida, teaching economic prosperity; and Feeding Our Children Ministries from Tampa.

The Way to Happiness Association Tampa Bay showcased the precepts of The Way to Happiness, a nonreligious common-sense moral code written by author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard. The Association invited visitors to tour its center located a few doors south of Osceola Courtyard.  It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Community and Police Team Up for a Better Neighborhood

    Lowering crime through neighborhood cleanups.

    Press Release

    Aug 7, 2016

A diverse team of volunteers joined the cleanup of a stretch of the Pinellas Trail, organized by the Clearwater Police Department.

Participating were members of The Way to Happiness Association of Tampa Bay, North Greenwood residents, volunteers from the Pinellas County Parks and Conservation Resources Department’s Auxiliary Ranger Program, students from the Washburn Academy and local Scientologists.

The Pinellas Trail is a protected greenspace for walking, jogging, skating and biking, extending 47 miles along an abandoned railroad line from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs. It is managed by the Pinellas County Parks and Conservation Resources Department.

The volunteers tackled a section of the trail that runs through North Greenwood, a Clearwater municipal zone of more than 7,000 residents.

Known as a cultural hub decades ago, in recent years North Greenwood declined and became known as a high-crime, low-income neighborhood. When the crime rate peaked in July 2015, local residents banded together to upgrade the area with various projects to improve the facilities and environment of the neighborhood.

One of the projects undertaken was frequent cleanups, a function listed by the National Crime Prevention Council as one of the 20 communities initiatives than can reduce crime.

Clearwater Police Sergeant Wilton Lee directed the operation Saturday, July 30. He thanked each volunteer for their participation in this important project.

City Councilman Bill Jonson, who joined in the cleanup, said he hopes the work of the volunteers will set an example and influence others to treat the neighborhood with pride.

Since initiating cleanups and other projects to upgrade the North Greenwood neighborhood, crime has dropped 56 percent, according to a recent Pinellas County report.

  • Do You Want to Do Something Effective to Stop Crime?

Do You Want to Do Something Effective to Stop Crime?

Volunteers at the Criminon Center in Clearwater, Florida, say that with a few hours each week you can do something effective to reduce crime. Help close the “revolving door” through which prisoners return to a life of crime and wind up back in jail.

    Press Release

    Jun 10, 2016

More than 10.1 million people are held in penal institutions internationally, with 2.2 million serving time in the United States. Of the 100,000 inmates in Florida’s prison system, nearly one in three released will be behind bars again within three years. And Pinellas County ranks second in the state in the number of juvenile arrests.

Criminon Florida, a criminal rehabilitation program, says that with even a minimal investment of time, anyone can do something effective to reduce crime. The group holds a weekly open house at their new headquarters in Downtown Clearwater to introduce the community to the program and encourage new volunteers to join.

The Florida group has guided some 20,000 inmates through courses designed to help them make a fresh start as productive members of society.

Criminon Florida headquarters is one of six new centers opened in Clearwater, Florida, in July 2015 to house the humanitarian and social betterment programs supported by the Church of Scientology. In the center, 83 volunteers invest some 1,000 hours each month, assisting more than 900 inmates in 101 prisons in Florida by supervising them through correspondence courses.  Criminon also conducts onsite programs for groups of inmates in eight Florida prisons, some of them supervised by the inmates themselves.

The weekly Criminon open houses are attended by those interested in volunteering and others who simply want to find out more. They are joined by local businesspeople and rehabilitation specialists interested in supporting or implementing the program to tackle this urgent social problem.

Criminon, meaning “without crime,” is based on the discovery by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard that the path to true rehabilitation is for the offender to “find out when he lost his personal pride.” Mr. Hubbard states, “Rehabilitate that one point and you don’t have a criminal anymore.”

Today, Criminon is active in some 1,000 prisons and correctional facilities worldwide, with nearly 13,000 inmates enrolled in the program.

Ted Cruz awaits winner of Democratic primary after clinching GOP nomination

FILE – Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, speaks to the media during a press conference on the border, Sept. 27, 2023, on Capitol Hill in Washington. Democrats in search of flipping a U.S. Senate seat are watching Texas closely on Super Tuesday to see who voters nominate against Sen. Cruz.Mariam Zuhaib/AP

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas has officially locked up the GOP nomination for a third term and awaits the winner of a wide field of Democratic challengers.

Cruz had no major primary opponent. Nine Democrats are running for the chance to unseat him in November, including U.S. Rep. Colin Allred and state Sen. Roland Gutierrez.

Democrats see Cruz’s seat as one of their best chances to flip a Senate seat this year even though a Democrat hasn’t won a statewide race in Texas in 30 years.

Cruz’s last reelection campaign in 2018 ended in a narrow victory over Democrat Beto O’Rourke.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. AP’s earlier story follows below.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Democrats in search of flipping a U.S. Senate seat were watching Texas closely on Super Tuesday to see who voters nominate against Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, whose underdog challengers have cast as vulnerable after a narrow margin of victory in 2018.

U.S. Rep. Colin Allred, a former NFL player and three-term congressman from Dallas, and state Sen. Roland Gutierrez have drawn most of the attention in a primary that again finds Texas Democrats in pursuit of a breakthrough candidate. No Democrat has won a statewide office in Texas in 30 years, the longest losing streak of its kind in the U.S.

Despite that, Democrats believe Texas and Florida are their best shot for upsets in November as they try to preserve a slim 51-49 advantage in the Senate. That majority includes West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, who is not seeking reelection and whose seat is likely to flip Republican.

Seven other Democrats are also running in the Senate primary in Texas, including state Rep. Carl Sherman. The race heads to a May 28 runoff if no candidate wins a vote majority.

Allred, who would become Texas’ first Black senator if elected, has raised more than $21 million since getting in the race. That’s significantly more than his primary challengers, whom the civil rights lawyer has largely ignored during the primary while keeping his attacks focused on Cruz.

Allred, 40, made headlines in January when he was among 14 House Democrats who backed a Republican resolution in Congress that criticized President Joe Biden’s handling of the border. Gutierrez criticized Allred for the vote, accusing him of siding “with GOP extremists,” and Cruz spokesperson Macarena Martinez called the vote a “disingenuous attempt to posture on the border.”

Allred said he did not agree with all the language in the resolution but said he wanted to see more urgency at the federal level when it comes to the border.

“For me, it was about sending a signal that, you know, what we have been doing is not working,” Allred said in an interview last week during early voting in Texas. “We have to change something.”

Cruz only narrowly beat Beto O’Rourke for reelection in 2018 by less than 3 percentage points. It was the closest Democrats have come in decades to winning a statewide seat and happened during a midterm election that wound up being a strong year for Democrats nationally.

Texas Democrats have struggled to recapture that momentum since then. O’Rourke lost by double digits when he challenged Republican Gov. Greg Abbott in 2022.

“Things are shifting in the state. It takes a long time,” said Jared Hockeman, the chairman of the Democratic Party in Cameron County along the U.S.-Mexico border. “We recognize that.”
