Alden Ehrenreich Is Back in the Spotlight—For Now

    [ad_1]

While preparing to play a prequelized Han Solo in the biggest film of his life, Alden Ehrenreich came across an interview from the late ’70s with Harrison Ford, following the release of the original Star Wars. Ford was asked what it felt like to come off of such a massive cultural hit and responded with relief that he didn’t feel much. Ehrenreich could relate. “We all live under this mythology that success in a certain way is salvational and changes everything,” the Solo star says now over Zoom. “The actual back end of success or failure ends up revealing itself to be not nearly as meaningful as you think on the front end. I’ve had that experience so many times. A movie comes out and you want to go like, ‘Yes!’—and you just don’t.”

Ehrenreich thinks back to that Ford interview after I ask him a similar kind of question. In terms of his own career, 2023 has been major—and not just because it’s the first year in which he’s appeared in a film since 2018, when Solo flopped at the box office. Ehrenreich is the fiery colead of this past Sundance’s smash premiere, Fair Play, which launched to No. 1 on Netflix’s movies chart last month. He’s a key supporting figure in both Cocaine Bear, the hit B movie comedy from Elizabeth Banks, and Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-front-running epic that’s grossed close to $1 billion globally (with no signs of stopping). His directorial debut, the short film Shadow Brother Sunday, has played festivals and picked up prizes around the world, a concrete step forward in his filmmaking ambitions.

So, a natural inquiry: How does it all feel? No short way to answer that. For starters, SAG-AFTRA’s strike rules prevented Ehrenreich from talking about most of these projects as they were released. Their buzz existed on text threads with family and friends and in the occasional headline he’d failed to avoid. “It didn’t feel nearly as real,” he says. As we chat, he’s been allowed to publicly discuss the films for about 48 hours. Then there’s the broader reality. At just 33 years old, the young actor has already hit Hollywood highs and lows, been forced to learn the transitory nature of any level of standing in this industry. He wonders if he’s built for it at all. “You just try to navigate, as we all do, caring too much about what other people think of you, and you try to listen to something that’s more important,” he says. “It’s very, very hard to do.” Especially, perhaps, when the feedback is as good as it’s been lately.

Ehrenreich is big on quoting. Titans of Hollywood, like Harrison Ford, have articulated ways of surviving through showbusiness that he’s not only absorbed, but adopted as a kind of philosophy. “Are you ready for a pretentious reference?” he asks me knowingly, as he works through one of many long, candid answers. “I go back to an AFI speech that Orson Welles gave where he said, ‘Maybe my films would’ve been better, but they wouldn’t have been mine.’”

Before turning 20, Ehrenreich made his feature-acting debut in Francis Ford Coppola’s noir drama Tetro, and was promptly compared to a young Leonardo DiCaprio by Roger Ebert. He went on to work with Woody Allen, Park Chan-wook, and most auspiciously, the Coen brothers in their old-Hollywood pastiche Hail, Caesar! His deadpan tour-de-force there, as a Gene Autry-esque dimwit singing cowboy, drew raves, and his profile skyrocketed. The film was released in February of 2016. In March, reports surfaced that Ehrenreich had been shortlisted to play Han Solo in the mega-budgeted eponymous prequel to be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller; his casting was confirmed by May. After the film’s box office disappointment—relative to its $275-plus million budget anyway, as it grossed nearly $400 million worldwide—the actor took time off, given the process’s length from pre-production prep to post-release promotion. (One reason it took so long: Lord and Miller were replaced by Ron Howard mid-shoot.) More recently, he’s reflected on what that time gave him.

“I loved the original spirit of how they wanted to make [Solo], and I did it because it was this great platform from which I could do my own thing,” he says. “But what I realized at that point is: I hadn’t built my own thing enough to be able to do it…. I knew that I didn’t know myself in that way yet, and that takes a certain amount of time and effort and failure in its own kind of enclosed way. That’s what I spent that time doing.”

He ended his post-Solo hiatus with a role on the ill-fated Peacock series Brave New World, which was in production for eight months. Covid hit immediately thereafter. Suddenly, as the world emerged out of the pandemic, Ehrenreich found himself no longer shortlisted for the most plum roles available to actors his age. “When you go back and want to do something, you realize that there’s other people on the list who have surpassed you, and you have to fight harder for a particular role that you want,” he says. “I’ve lived that over and over again.”

But Ehrenreich quotes that Welles speech to affirm that he stands by his choices and his selectiveness. “There’s a practical arithmetic as an actor now that, frankly, I just don’t have the stomach for in the long run,” he says. “I don’t want to do projects on the cut. I don’t want to do things I don’t really love if I can avoid it—and with the cadence now, you kind of have to be doing a certain amount of projects.” Case in point: “There are things that I really wanted that I didn’t get. The heartbreaker is when the director goes, ‘You’re who I want, but I can’t cast you because they need to have this guy who came off this thing.’”

This makes Ehrenreich’s 2023 work stand out all the more. One could argue he’s conformed to the expectation of a hustling rising star. He does not see it that way: “When I hear people say, ‘God, you weren’t in a movie for five years,’ I’m like, ‘Holy shit!’” He made Cocaine Bear to ease back into the routine and had a blast. A few months later, he flew to Serbia to star with Phoebe Dynevor in the taut thriller Fair Play, about an engaged couple working at the same financial firm whose bond unravels when one is promoted over the other. Ehrenreich’s performance in this blazing feature debut from Chloe Domont, which Netflix bought out of Sundance for $20 million, is dark and explosive, in a key he hadn’t hit before. What pushed him to take such a risky, volatile approach? “You have to trust the filmmaker. You live and die on them—and if you’re going to die, you’re already dead at that point.”

‘Summer House’ Star Silas Cooper Will Miss the Birth of His Baby Boy

    [ad_1]

Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard star Jasmine Ellis Cooper is looking forward to the birth of her son — but is disappointed her husband, Silas Cooper, will not be present for the delivery.

“He’s been supportive as much as he can from thousands of miles away. And he knows that I’m in good hands with my housemates, so that’s been great,” Jasmine, 31, exclusively told Us Weekly at BravoCon on Friday, November 3. “But then also, we’re both strong as individuals, So I’m holding it down over here. He’s holding it down over there for the country.”

Silas, 32, announced in March 2022 via Instagram that he had become a commissioned officer in the Army reserve after training 1000 miles from his home in New York City. His family is from Liberia, and he noted that one reason he joined the Army Reserve was because America “embraced my family and I at a time when my native country was at war.”

Jasmine, meanwhile, announced in November that she and Silas are expecting their first child. “Silas and I will be welcoming Baby Cooper February 2024!” she wrote via Instagram at the time.

Jenner shared on January 1 that his now-fiancée, Tia Blanco, was pregnant with their first child. “To start off this new year, we’d like to take this opportunity to wish all of our friends, family […]

Fellow cast member Bria Fleming, meanwhile, told Us that a change in Jasmine’s appearance made her suspect she was pregnant.

“I first saw her, I’m like, your boobs look big. Did you get a boob job? And then she’s just like, no. And I’m like, okay, cool,” Bria told Us. “But when I found out, I was like, ‘I knew it.’ It was just the boobs gave it away.”

According to Bravo, Jasmine and Silas met on the Hinge dating app. The couple got engaged in 2021, and were married in June 2022 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

Regarding starting a family, the former Playboy Bunny was not concerned about whether their child would be a boy or a girl.

“Honestly, I just wanted a healthy baby. I don’t think we cared about what the gender was,” Jasmine explained.“We were just excited to be starting our family and moving into a new space of our chapter last year was very complex, but we have a really good village and great friends, and it feels like a really good start to something new.”

With her husband away in the military, Jasmine said Silas was definitely missed as they shot season two of the series over the summer.

Who says true love doesn’t exist on reality TV? While it seems to be a trend that many marriages on reality TV end in divorce, there are still some reality TV couples out there beating the odds! Sometimes, it’s all about meeting the right person at the right time. That seemed to be the case […]

“He introduced me to Martha Vineyard,” she commented.” So him not being there felt odd.”

Bria also felt that their Summer House family was incomplete.

“It was a missing piece to our friend group because he, like he would be walking around the house. He was just very happy and you can hear him, so him not being there, he would always mediate a lot of the drama as well,” Bria recalled to Us.“You do feel his presence gone. So we have that missing piece. Wow. We do miss him. We got to do a couple of FaceTimes, but it’s not the same.”

The original Summer House premiered on Bravo in January 2017 and followed a group of friends who share a house in the Hamptons on weekends between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Its success led to two spinoffs; Winter House and Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard.

A Bravo employee saw a photo of Silas and his friends vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard on Instagram and contacted him to be part of the series. Filming of the first season of the Vineyard series took place over the course of 15 days in late summer 2022 in the town of Edgartown. After a successful season 1, which premiered in May 2023, season 2 is set to debut in 2024.

Fleming said that the local residents gave the cast a warm reception for their return In August 2023 to the vineyard.

“It was a lot of activities, a lot of outings, a lot of rebuilt relationships,” she commented. “We got known all around. People were loving us being there.”

Season 1 also had some drama as Mariah Torres was kicked out of the house on the third episode after she pushed Bria during an argument. Mariah, 32, did not appear in any of the season’s remaining five episodes.

Jasmine would not divulge specifics about season two, however she said it will be entertaining.

“It’s a different roller coaster this season. I know we took you guys on a roller coaster last season,” she said. “Emotional, but this season you’re going to enjoy the ride.”

Upload season 3 introduced two different versions of Robbie Amell’s character Nathan — and director Sarah Boyd was up for the challenge.

“I think [it’s] really fun and interesting, the characters diverging,” Boyd exclusively told Us Weekly about filming the third season of the Prime Video series. “You get to see how Nathan’s life changes him when he is downloaded and [when] he goes back to reality and real life stuff. You also get to see how Nathan’s life changes when Ingrid’s a very different person to him and therefore they can have [a] very different kind of relationship. I love watching those two relationships unfold differently.”

Boyd — who directed episodes 8 and 9 of season 3 — noted that Amell had no issues when it came to taking on the extra responsibility of portraying two separate Nathans. “Robbie was really dialed into the differences between the two Nathans. He’s well aware what those two Nathans are,” she said, noting that it only got tricky when they had to “remind” themselves about story points while shooting “out of order.”

Season 3 of Upload premiered in September and reunited viewers with Nathan and Nora (Andy Allo) after Nathan was successfully downloaded into his physical body — and brought back into the real world — at the end of season 2. As he integrated back into reality, a second backup copy Nathan was uploaded into Lakeview after Horizon couldn’t locate the original. While “original” Nathan continued his relationship with Nora on earth, “new” Nathan reignited his romance with ex-fiancée Ingrid (Allegra Edwards) after to being put on a “factory” setting, which doesn’t include memories of Nora.

Amid the WGA and SAG strikes, the fall TV schedule is in for a shakeup with both new and returning shows. Hulu’s The Other Black Girl explores Nella’s (Sinclair Daniel) journey as the only Black woman at a New York City publishing firm. She gets excited when Hazel (Ashleigh Murray) arrives before quickly starting to […]

By the season 3 finale, it’s revealed that two Nathan’s exist, causing Horizon to destroy one version of the character. While one Nathan survives, it’s unclear which — something even Boyd can’t answer.

“I was given the task of making the visual element of Nathan unclear purposefully so that really it could be either one,” she told Us. “Luckily Nathan physically looks the same, certainly from the neck up.”

The director said that she was careful to choose a “gray” background for Nathan’s final scene so that no matter where he was, he “had been put in some sort of holding cell” that “could have happened in either location.” She added that if fans “think they’ve got the answer, they could be right or they could be wrong. It’s going to be a 50 50 chance.”

Nora and Ingrid certainly will want to know which one of their partners survived, as Ingrid and “new” Nathan had just gotten engaged, while fan-favorite pairing Nora and “original” Nathan made plans for a romantic trip to Montreal.

Viewers have been waiting for Nora and Nathan to get their happy ending since the series premiered in 2020. It’s the chemistry between Alloh and Amell — and the magic of the writers room — that Boyd credits for creating such a popular on screen relationship.

“I think that [Nathan and Nora’s] likability and rooting for them is a product of both the writing and just who Andy and Robbie are as people and obviously as actors,” she said. “You just gravitate towards wanting to watch them. They’re just incredibly attractive. That sounds superficial, but you lean into that couple and it’s both because they have a lot of heart and over the seasons you want to root for them.”

Boyd added that it could be the slow-burn dynamic between the couple that keeps viewers coming back for more.

[Their love] evolved slowly. There’s no one scene that made you go, ‘Yes, that’s the scene,’” she explained. “It’s an evolution. So I just say that my job is a little bit more circumscribed in the sense that I’ll just help them make their best version of the scene at hand.”

Upload season 3 is now streaming on Prime Video.

Why Tia Mowry Is ‘Optimistic’ About Dating After Cory Hardrict Divorce

    [ad_1]

Tia Mowry is embracing her “new chapter” after finalizing her divorce from Cory Hardrict — and she’s ready to dive back into the dating scene.

“I mean, I never dated before so I didn’t have anything to compare it to, but I definitely think it’s harder than I thought,” Mowry, 45, exclusively told Us Weekly on Thursday, November 9, while promoting JCPenney’s “Penny Prepper” challenge. “But I am optimistic [and] I’m in the present. I’m not thinking too far down the line. Everything is good.”

While Mowry is open to meeting someone new, she doesn’t understand why so many fans are interested in getting an update on her love life. “I am choosing to [keep it quiet]. Y’all going to have to just guess and continue to guess,” she quipped. “I’m not saying anything.”

The Sister, Sister alum announced her split from Hardrict, 44, in October 2022 after 14 years of marriage. Mowry filed for divorce one week later, and the proceedings were finalized in April. Mowry and Hardrict now share joint custody of son Cree, 12 and daughter Cairo, 5.

I’m not really thinking too much in the past. I’m not thinking too much [about] the future. I’m just all about now, which has given me joy.”

Mowry has also become more “present with my children,” and that mindset will continue during the holiday season with a special trip to Thailand.

  • Willem Dafoe Spent Six Hours a Day in the ‘Poor Things’ Makeup Chair. He’s Not Complaining

Willem Dafoe Spent Six Hours a Day in the ‘Poor Things’ Makeup Chair. He’s Not Complaining

    [ad_1]

When Poor Things premiered in Venice over Labor Day weekend to rousing reviews and no stars in sight, Willem Dafoe watched from afar with a little bit of heartbreak, if also a lot of confidence that the film was landing—even thriving—without any of the usual red-carpet bells and whistles. “I thought, This is better!” he says with a laugh. Flash-forward two months later and, with the SAG-AFTRA strike tentatively resolved, this year’s unusual awards season dynamic has rapidly started reverting to its old self. Suddenly, Dafoe can talk about the movie that may net him his next Oscar nomination—one unlike any in his distinguished filmography.

The new Yorgos Lanthimos film is, true to the Favourite and Lobster director’s idiosyncratic spirit, brazenly original—an arty take on the Victorian-era novel by Alasdair Gray that spins the Frankenstein legend into a demented, raunchy, strangely touching tale of female empowerment and coming of age. The story begins with Dafoe’s Dr. Godwin Baxter, a mad scientist whose disfigured face would seem most at home among a Surrealist painting collection, completing a horrific experiment: He reanimates a 30-something corpse by replacing her defunct brain with that of an unborn child. We then meet Bella (Emma Stone) as both adult woman, rushing with sexual desires, and helpless baby, just learning how to walk and talk. In that, a most dysfunctional father-daughter dynamic emerges, one that Dafoe plays—while roaming Dr. Baxter’s townhouse, as it teems with his disturbing creations—in an increasingly tender, even heartwarming key. When Dr. Baxter and his protégé (Ramy Youssef) decide it’s time to let Bella go and have her explore the world, he mourns in his empty nest.

Dr. Baxter’s face, we later learn, has been completely maimed by the work of his father, also a surgeon. That trauma is applied both to the way he spends his days, breeding pigs with ducks and horses with carriages as if the animals are mix-and-match Legos, and to the interiority of Dafoe’s performance. Before shooting began, the make-up team would mock up scars for the actor so he could prepare having a sense of what the character could look like. As he got into filming, it was easy to get into that troubled headspace, given the amount of time he spent being turned into Dr. Baxter, down to the finest details.

“Four hours in, two hours out every day—I’m showing up at three o’clock in the morning, sitting in the chair, meditating and trying to deal with standing still. You can’t sleep because it’s intricate enough that you’ve got to work with the people applying it,” Dafoe says. “Then everybody else comes in at seven o’clock, and your day starts. You do a full day. Then you take it off. It’s a grind, but I liked working with a mask in there—quite literally, a mask.”

Dafoe developed a nickname on set: “They dubbed me ‘Kirk.’ They thought I looked like Kirk Douglas.”

    Dafoe in Poor Things.

    Yorgos Lanthimos

This is hardly Dafoe’s first transformation for the camera. He’s been Oscar-nominated for bloodsucking in Shadow of the Vampire and has portrayed Jesus, Vincent van Gogh, and (kind of) Hunter S. Thompson to great acclaim. But the sheer detail of a Lanthimos production allowed him to slip into this utterly original realm and find his bearings. The role matched the surroundings. The sets were “spectacular,” stuffed with intrigue. “In every spare moment, you’d just wander,” he says. “I’m wandering because there are beautiful things around. Books! You’d read these books with, like, beautiful scientific diagrams.” The set design was unlike anything Dafoe had encountered before. “You had so many things that defined the world—unless you were asleep, you had to live in it,” he says. “That’s ideal for an actor, because it’s like nothing else. You fold into it. Everything tells you what to do.”

This may explain the unexpected intimacy of Dafoe’s work here. The magic of Poor Things is the way its monochrome colors, fish-eye camera lenses, and disarming visual effects somehow complement aching, intricate characterizations. The film brims with humanity, its actors staying grounded in a dreamy sci-fi environment. “Invention on the actors’ part is kind of overrated—it’s what people always like to talk about, but I think the real roots and the real value of an actor is how they can be there to show up and receive all this stuff,” Dafoe says. “You don’t have a showy performance, regardless of how big it is or exaggerated, if you’ve got a thing that’s rooted. And where does that come from? It comes from the world.”

“I have perfect nipples,” she answered. Dorit replied, “I did not expect that.”

When addressing the comment with Us, Crystal said she has yet to hear from Dorit about it.

Dorit has addressed plastic surgery rumors over the years, shutting down rumors that she had a nose job after former RHOBH star Lisa Vanderpump threw shade about her looks.

In June 2021, Dorit claimed that Lisa, 63, ignored her when they crossed paths during a Los Angeles outing.

“Ignore her? I just didn’t recognize her lol,” Lisa, 63, wrote in a since-deleted X (formerly Twitter) post, sharing a side-by-side photo of Dorit in high school vs. her present-day look.

That same month, Dorit attended a barbecue with plastic surgeon Dr. Ben Talei, who shared his opinion on the Dorit’s nose. The entire thing was documented, thanks to Teddi Mellencamp, who posted the videos via Instagram Stories at the time.

Amelia Gray Hamlin Declares Y2K Style Is Here to Stay

    [ad_1]

Amelia Gray Hamlin has had one hell of a year. The model and daughter of former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin, Amelia burst onto the fashion scene with a bold look that immediately caught the eyes of fashion’s elite, putting her in the same category as household names like Kendall Jenner and those Hadid sisters. At just 22, she’s walked the runway for luxury brands like Balenciaga, Chanel, and Diesel, and recently starred in the Fall 2023 Miu Miu campaign. Clearly, her rocketing trajectory shows no signs of stopping.

Outside of fashion month and magazine spreads, she’s also made a name for herself thanks to her uniquely Y2K-inspired way of dressing. From Matrix-esque futuristic fits to looks that channel peak Hollywood socialite vibes (think: vintage Louis Vuitton x Murakami bags, baby doll tees, and transparent shield sunglasses), Amelia’s style is like opening a fun 2000s fashion vault. Just this week, she turned heads in a nipple-baring, see-through Azzedine Alaïa dress at the 2023 CFDA Awards and in an all-black leather look at Glamour‘s Women of the Year awards. So it’s no surprise she partnered with Motorola to spotlight the relaunch of the Razr, arguably one of the most iconic and stylish phones from the aughts.

    Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images

Like the original Razr, the reimagined device is not just a phone but also a fashion accessory, with a folding OLED display that modernizes its look and ups the tech ante. (Yes, you can still sassily snap it closed to hang up a call.) The new smartphone comes in a variety of hues and finishes sure to fit your unique style. Amelia herself opts for a cool shade of blue, joking, “I actually went with the light blue instead of the light pink—shocking.”

Below, Amelia chats with StyleCaster about Y2K fashion and tech, her blossoming modeling career, and of course, the Rinna of it all.

This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity.

StyleCaster: The Motorola Razr was one of my first phones, so when I saw you partnered with the brand, I was pumped.

Amelia Gray Hamlin: OMG, mine too! I remember getting it at the Verizon store. It was black and the texture was very soft—I can’t really explain it—and then it had red accents, so it was very fitting. That’s still very much my aesthetic. Razr raised me!

SC: Is that why you chose to team up with Motorola for the relaunch of the Razr?

AGH: It’s so nostalgic for my generation, and it’s such a full-circle moment. My generation and this phone, like, we grew up together. For the reiteration of it, they did it all so beautifully. The concept is so cool and smart. It’s a smartphone that you can fold into your pocket. It does every single thing that every other phone does, and it has a major camera.

Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for Glamour

SC: Because of its aesthetic, it’s almost like a fashion accessory itself.

AGH: I’m obsessed. I do have some designing inspirations [and tips] for them: maybe little shells that you can pop on in different colors. I feel like that was a thing back in the day.

SC: That was! I forgot about those.

AGH: Right?! I’m looking at mine. She’s gorg. She’s blue. It makes me really happy when I look at it. And I put little stickers on it. It’s kind of just perfect.

SC: You’re gearing up to attend Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards with Motorola. Do you have any must-do getting-ready rituals for major events?

AGH: I think I’ve started to finally enjoy the process. In the past, I’ve done everything alone. And I haven’t known my people. When you don’t know your people or what you like, it’s hard to feel comfortable in a situation like a big event where you get all dressed up. Now, I love to play dress-up. These events are so freeing and so inspiring for me because I get to choose what I want to wear, and that’s really fun.

SC: The Razr was super popular in the 2000s. What do you think of the resurgence of 2000s, Y2K-inspired style?

AGH: I’m loving. I’m bringing back tattoo chokers! Fun fact: I was actually on a Zara shoot not too long ago and the stylist knew to bring this tattoo choker—that was the end. I took that choker home with me. I’ve decided that is the new trend that we’re bringing back. Sorry if you hate it, it’s gonna happen. It’s happening. I also love all of the 2000s trends coming back because I was young and couldn’t really express myself with those trends the way that I can now. It’s major to have a resurgence and a take-two.

SC: I love that. You’ve had a crazy year, and your modeling career has just skyrocketed. Have you had pinch-me moments, or any designer runways you’ve really been excited to walk for?

AGH: Every single one. Every single moment has been a pinch-me moment. Every single designer I’ve worked for, I’ve dreamt of working for. It’s all just so insane. And I’m just so over the moon—grateful and excited. I just really love my life and everyone involved. It just makes me want to cry. I’m really lucky.

SC: Do you have other models that you look up to or turn to for inspiration in terms of your walk or poses?

AGH: I am really trying to learn to be my own inspiration. I’m trying to answer that question with me, but I can’t because I’m not totally there yet. But I think that I more so gravitate towards any ’90s supermodel—I can’t just pick one though.

SC: I like what you said about being your own inspiration.

AGH: I just saw North West’s i-D interview, and she said her fashion icon is herself. That’s that.

SC: I mean, she’s not wrong.

AGH: Right? I think we should all be our own.

SC: We’ve seen your mom all over fashion month this year. What’s it like to have her in the front row?

AGH: When I have her in the audience, I know that I’ll at least get, well, I think that I’ll get one really great video of myself walking. But she never seems to know when I’m coming and always gets either the girl in front of me or after me. God bless her. But you know what it feels like? It feels like growing up. I don’t know if you resonate with this, but I’m sure other people do: I was always forced to do, like, theater and plays and musicals and things like that. I think I did about 15 throughout my childhood, and my mom and dad would always come into my plays and musicals. And when she’s sitting in the audience of a show that I’m walking, it feels like my mom’s coming to my high school play or middle school musical. It’s really fun, really cute like that. And I get more nervous having her there.

Actually, my dad has never been to one of my shows. I really, really want him to, but I just know he’s gonna cry. Bless him. I’m always, like, in the lineup, super nervous being like, my mom’s in the audience. God forbid I trip in front of my mom, like, I do be tripping. Like, thank God, nobody ever sees but like, I’m human. It’s happened and if it happened in front of her I’d be really sad.

I feel like I’m just getting started and I’ve only just scratched the surface.

    Amelia Gray Hamlin

SC: On RHOBH, she’s showcased her expansive fashion archive. Do you have any specific pieces that she’s passed on to you that are very treasured?

AGH: She’s given me nothing. I have absolutely nothing. She kind of forgot to archive and didn’t do it. See, in our genes, we have this really fun little OCD bug that we were bit by, from my grandma, and sometimes I think it’s easier for us to just get rid and let go and not have to deal with clutter and mess and things like that. I have that gene just as my mom does. I’m being very conscious and cognizant of keeping whatever I can physically keep so that when the time comes with my, hopefully, daughter in the future, I don’t skimp out on her.

My mom didn’t save much. She saved great dresses but I don’t know if you guys have noticed, I don’t really wear dresses like that. My favorite archive that she has is her first designer dress, which happens to be an Azzedine Alaïa that my dad got her when they first started seeing each other. It’s one of the most incredible pieces I’ve ever seen. But it would be so fun to be able to wear her vintage Levi’s and tops from when she was in high school. All of my friends wear their moms’ things. I’m gonna do that for my daughter. Thank you for nothing, mom!

SC: The casual pieces are much easier to wear than an Alaïa gown.

AGH: But I’m loving my Azzedine Alaia. I’m grateful for it. Not mine! But I will steal it.

SC: Looking towards the future, what are some of your goals? Would you ever follow in your mom’s footsteps and get into acting?

AGH: I don’t know. I think that I’ve got to check all the boxes in [modeling] before I even can comprehend checking boxes in another field. That being said, I feel like I’m just getting started and I’ve only just scratched the surface. I’m really excited for all that is to come and I’m now riding the wave, enjoying the process, seeing where it all takes me. I think it would be sick to act, but I… listen, Linda Evangelista has this major quote. She says, “I don’t want to be an actress because I can’t wear the same dress for more than a day.” And like, not no! You know? I feel like I’ve been dipping my toes in the whole acting thing with this modeling job that I have. And I’m like, damn, I really respect these actors. So we’ll see! I mean, it would be cool. I think. I think that I’m kind of good at it already. That’s sort of how I do my job now, it’s all acting. But yeah, we’ll see, won’t we?

SC: It’s acting when you’re personifying different styles for designers.

AGH: Exactly. I act every day.

SC: What advice would you share with the younger you just getting started in the industry?

AGH: I would say, Girl, chill out. Like, it’s gonna happen for you. Don’t stress, you don’t need it right now. Divine timing. You’re not ready right now. I think it was so hard for me to be patient. And I think that there’s a blessing and a curse in this life in regards to knowing what you want and dreaming at a very young age. I couldn’t understand that I wasn’t ready and that I was too young and that life brings everything when it’s supposed to happen. As woo-woo and cheesy as it may sound, like, yes, divine timing. Whatever is meant for me is never going to pass me. And I don’t have to fight and beg for something if it wasn’t even for me in the beginning.

Erika Jayne is opening up about where she stands with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills costar Dorit Kemsley after joking about her marriage woes.

“When BravoCon happened last year, I did not know what was going on in her personal life and had I known, I would not have said that,” Erika, 52, exclusively told Us Weekly at BravoCon on Saturday, November 4. “So I’ve worked very hard to correct that and move on and reconnect our friendship again.”

In October 2022, Erika made headlines when she said Dorit, 47, and her husband, Paul “PK” Kemsley, were the next Bravo couple that were “headed to splitsville” during a Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen taping.

At the time, Dorit clapped back at the remark via X (formerly known as Twitter). “Misery loves company. What else can [I] say 🤷🏼‍♀️,” she wrote. “Our friends, those that truly know us, know what we have and who we are.”

Ariana Madix isn’t surprised by Tom Sandoval‘s behavior anymore.

When Us Weekly asked Ariana, 38, on Saturday, November 4, about the Vanderpump Rules scene where she alleges that Sandoval, 40, tried to kill her dog, she simply said her ex-boyfriend was continuing his “reckless, careless behavior.”

The jaw-dropping season 11 trailer debuted at the intense BravoCon panel for Pump Rules on Friday, November 3. Ariana directly addresses Sandoval in one clip. “Ruin my life, my home and then f–king attempt to kill my f—king dog. My lawyer will be dealing with you,” she says.

Katie Maloney and Ariana spoke to Us on the BravoCon red carpet on Saturday about the incident but didn’t go into detail. “[It was] just reckless, careless stuff. Lisa Vanderpump Has ‘Empathy’ for Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky

    [ad_1]

Lisa Vanderpump isn’t ready to forgive Kyle Richards — but still feels for her former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills costar amid her marriage woes with husband Mauricio Umansky.

“With Kyle and Mauricio I mean, I don’t have a great relationship with her, I’ve been honest about that,” Lisa, 63, exclusively told Us Weekly while attending BravoCon on Friday, November 3. “When somebody calls you a liar, it’s hard to come back from that when they don’t take it back. But I have empathy. Empathy for it. They’ve got a family and beautiful girls.”

While Lisa and Kyle, 54, were instant pals during the first season of RHOBH in 2010, their nearly decade-long friendship came to a grinding halt in 2018 after their costar Dorit Kemsley adopted a puppy from Kylie’s dog rescue center, Vanderpump Dogs. After the pet wound up at a killer shelter, Teddi Mellencamp accused Lisa of encouraging her employees to talk about the situation so it would be a storyline on the show.

While Kyle attempted to stay neutral in the feud, she questioned Lisa when the story leaked to the press — upsetting the Vanderpump Rules star. The women ended up in hearted a argument, with Lisa’s husband, Ken Todd, kicking Kyle out of the house and causing Lisa to cease communication with her costars, including Kyle, before officially exiting the Bravo series during season 9.

I predict people overdrinking and being overserved […]

After their fallout, Kyle exclusively told Us that she had attempted to contact her former friend with no success. “Emails and text messages and, you know, I don’t know what else to do,” she told Us in November 2018. “As far as I’m concerned, the ball is in her court.”

The twosome seemingly haven’t made amends, but Lisa’s “empathy” comes amid a different kind of relationship drama for Kyle. Us confirmed in July that Kyle and Mauricio, 54, had separated after 27 years of marriage. The couple tied the knot in 1996 and share daughters Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15. (Mauricio is also the stepfather of Kyle’s daughter Farrah, 34, whom she welcomed with ex-husband Guraish Aldjufrie.)

Kyle and Mauricio shared a joint statement about their separation in July, noting that they had a “rough year” in their marriage but had no plans to divorce. “We both love and respect each other tremendously,” they wrote via Instagram. “There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part.”

Tension between the two grew, however, when photos surfaced of Mauricio holding hands with his Dancing With the Stars partner, Emma Slater, last month. Kyle expressed her discomfort with the images during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, telling host Andy Cohen, “I don’t know if anything’s happened yet, but obviously there’s something there. … I love him very much and we are amicable. [But] that really did hurt me.”

Mauricio, for his part, addressed the romance rumors head-on in an October Instagram video with Slater, 34, insisting that the duo are “not dating.”

Kyle and Mauricio are not the only RHOBH who appear to be “having issues” in their marriage. In October, In Touch reported that Dorit, 47, and her husband, PK Kemsley, are living “separate lives.” The couple — who share daughter Jagger, 9, and son Phoenix, 7 — responded to the reports at the time, denying that they plan to end their marriage.

At the time, Dorit and PK, 56, added that they’ve had “some challenging years,” and will discuss their relationship on season 13 of RHOBH, which kicked off in October.

Meanwhile, a source exclusively told Us earlier this month that Dorit and PK are “spending time apart” while undergoing “couples counseling.”

“They both agree it’s the right thing to do,” a second insider told Us.  “It’s been a rough period for them. They want to say on amicable terms whether they stay together or not.”

While speaking with Us at BravoCon on Friday, Lisa shared that she doesn’t believe Dorit and PK are really in trouble, adding that she doesn’t “invest too much in rumors.”

“I haven’t heard much about that, and I don’t ever really believe rumors because I think all marriages go through a little bit of that,” she explained. “I’ve had been married 41 years, sometimes I’ve wanted to kill Ken and often [I’ve] kind of [been] honest about it. They go, ‘Oh, what’s it like being married?’ It’s f—king difficult! It is.”

Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz opened up about how the public’s strong reaction towards Scandoval affected them.

“It’s a weird thing to be publicly shamed,” Schwartz, 41, exclusively told Us Weekly on Friday, November 3, following the Vanderpump Rules panel at BravoCon. “I was guilty by association or however they want to frame it, but it was very bizarre at times. I could appreciate the absurdity of it, but other times it was very sad and kind of terrifying.”

Schwartz teased that at some point in the future, he and Sandoval, 40, will be able to “go back and look” at all the DMs they received at the height of the scandal.

Earlier that day, Us confirmed that Sandoval was repeatedly booed during the reality series’ panel during the first day of BravoCon in Las Vegas — which goes until Sunday, November 5. While on stage, moderator Karamo Brown asked the cast — which included Ariana Madix, Katie Maloney, Lala Kent, James Kennedy and Scheana Shay in addition to Schwartz and Sandoval — if anyone was nervous to be there. Selling Sunset’s Mary Fitzgerald Was ‘Very Sick’ After Miscarriage

    [ad_1]

Mary Fitzgerald recalled her emotional miscarriage — and how she’s started to heal — six months after the loss.

“I needed time to heal,” Fitzgerald, 43, exclusively told Us Weekly of her 2023 pregnancy loss while promoting season 7 of Selling Sunset. “It was a septic miscarriage as well. I got very, very, very sick. And that was just really hard.”

The Selling Sunset star, who had to undergo surgery after the pregnancy complication, explained: “I think emotionally and physically, it was very, very difficult and I needed just time to process and grieve, heal. And so, it took quite a few months. I think it’s been about six months. I’m OK now.”

    Phillip Faraone/Getty Images

Fitzgerald revealed via social media in March that she “did get pregnant and unfortunately that didn’t work out.” She explained at the time that following her and husband Romain Bonnet’s Bali honeymoon in January, she suffered a miscarriage, some of which the Selling Sunset cameras captured for season 7.

“We were supposed to film the day when we found out, and Romaine just called [the team]. He’s like, ‘Do not show up at our house. I will not let you in. She needs a minute,’” Fitzgerald recalled of the heartbreaking moment. “And so he was, like, my total protector.”

It has been a difficult road to parenthood for many celebrity parents, including Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. After in vitro fertilization didn’t work on the first try, Teigen wondered if she had done something wrong. “You just look for anything to blame, especially yourself,” Teigen explained to New York Magazine’s The Cut in April […]

Looking back, the realtor said she “probably should have waited until [she] was in the safe zone” to share her pregnancy news. However, she told Us she “couldn’t hold it in” because she was “so excited.”

Fitzgerald noted that there was a silver lining to the loss in that she and Bonnet, 30, did grow “closer and stronger” as a couple.

“Knowing I have a man like that on my side is just, I mean, couldn’t ask for more,” she gushed. “He always never lets me down. He is just a total rock and always impresses me at how he handles situations, so maturely in such a loving way, and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner.”

Despite having Bonnet to lean on, the sting of such a traumatic miscarriage is still on Fitzgerald’s mind as the pair explore their options moving forward.

“We’re just trying to decide what to do because they did find some other things when they went in for MRIs and for the surgery itself, for the miscarriage,” Fitzgerald told Us. “So, it might cause more complications doing it again. And so, we’re trying to figure out what to do.”

Over the years, Fitzgerald has been open about her fertility struggles and goals to expand her family. (Fitzgerald shares son Austin, 26, with a past partner.)

  • ‘Summer House’ Star Lindsay Hubbard Breaks Silence on Carl Radke Split

‘Summer House’ Star Lindsay Hubbard Breaks Silence on Carl Radke Split

    [ad_1]

It had all the makings of a modern fairy tale: girl meets boy on summer vacation, they become best friends, fall in love and get engaged, with reality TV cameras capturing every intimate moment along the way. So when Carl Radke suddenly ended his engagement to Lindsay Hubbard less than three months before their November wedding date, Summer House fans were shocked — and so was Hubbard.

“I was completely blindsided,” says Hubbard, 37, explaining that Radke never gave her a concrete reason for calling off the nuptials. “He blew up my entire life. I was crying, I was angry, and I had to find closure on my own. Now I’m at a place where I feel really good about moving on.” Hubbard sat down with Us at Daintree Rooftop & Lounge in NYC to share more about her devastating breakup, the healing process and how she’s beginning to find joy.

How have you been doing since confirming your split in September?
The first month, I allowed myself to feel all of the feels: go through the sadness, the pain, the whiplash. I process [things] by talking about my emotions, and my friends allowed me that space. I was able to regain my strength and [the] confidence of like, OK, I can do this. The way that Carl handled everything was such an absolute betrayal of my trust, and when that happens, it makes it easier to pick yourself up and put yourself out there again.

So you didn’t have any idea this was coming?
Every couple has normal arguments, but nothing that would’ve been so drastic as to break up. It was literally the last two weeks of summer that his demeanor and tone changed. There was a lot of combativeness and aggression on his end, and I was very confused.

“I want to have this weight lifted off my shoulders,” Hubbard says of breaking her silence on the split.
    Kevin Sturman/MEGA

Planning a wedding is often stressful.
It’s high-stress. [Plus, we were] filming all summer. I think people got in his ear, [but] it’s not normal to call off a wedding because you had a couple of arguments.

Can you share more about the breakup?
It was absolutely humiliating. It would’ve been one thing if this conversation happened over the summer during the normal filming schedule. But for [Carl] to call up producers and then set up cameras and manipulate me into sitting down [so he could break up with me] after we’d already wrapped is scary. The whole world found out within 30 minutes of me.

Who did you turn to for support?
I have the most amazing group of girlfriends who rallied around me. We talked, we cried. And women are detectives, right? So we sat for the first week just, like, psychologically dissecting every bit and piece of this entire breakup.

    Lindsay Hubbard Carl Radke Timeline

Related: Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke’s Relationship Timeline

Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke have been through it all on Summer House — from breakups to makeups and more — before calling off their engagement in August 2023. When the series premiered on Bravo in January 2017, Hubbard and Radke were part of the OG cast of Summer House and have since returned for […]

You and costar Danielle Olivera are close again. Was she there for you as well?
She really has been so incredible in this entire process. I had a great time rebuilding my friendships with different girls in the house, and they were there for me throughout the summer. Whenever something happened with Carl, they were right there to validate me and give advice. It became a story about sisterhood.

How is your relationship with Kyle Cooke, considering he was critical of your and Carl’s relationship?
Kyle has always had it out for me. He thinks that I’m some master manipulator who controls the universe and he’s good friends with Carl. I think part of him wants to give Carl an ally, and part of him just always thinks I’m the one who’s in the wrong. I’m used to it at this point.

Even though your costars questioned your and Carl’s romance, were they just as shocked as you by how it ended?
No one saw it coming, not one person. There were no red flags. Two weeks before he called it off, I was at my bridal shower and he showed up. One week before, I was at my dress fitting and he was fitting for his suits with all of his groomsmen. It had nothing to do with wedding planning. There was no cheating.

    Was his sobriety a factor?
    No, not at all.

    Lindsay Hubbard Print Rollout

“I deserve to be loved with a full heart, the way that I love,” Hubbard says. “I’m excited to find that person.”
    Kevin Sturman/MEGA

Your Summer House costars had said you were moving too fast. Looking back, do you agree?
No, because when you create a friendship that we had over eight years, you know this person; you know their quirks, flaws and boundaries. You bypass that getting-to-know-you phase.

Was the breakup even harder, considering the history you and Carl had?
That’s the hardest part of it all. And even now, if I have feelings that pop up in my mind or heart, it’s more that I lost my best friend than my fiancé.

Did you leave it up to him to handle the logistics of canceling the wedding?
Correct. Since Carl decided to call off the wedding, he can be responsible for sending the email [to the guests]. Why would it be on me? This was not my decision.

What did you do with the ring?
I gave it to my jeweler to sell it. I need to make up for all the lost money on the wedding.

Are you still at the apartment the two of you shared?
I live there. I love my apartment. I spent a lot of time, money, and effort to make this home comfortable for us, for him to then burn it down. And at this point, I’m not in the mind space to think about, “Oh, where am I gonna live now?”

    Lindsay Hubbard Print Rollout

“I wish [Carl] a lot of healing and growth,” says Hubbard.
    Kevin Sturman/MEGA

Your November 17 wedding date is coming up. Will you do anything special?
I’m gonna start writing my book. It’ll be a mixture of career, dating and family [anecdotes]. I’ve got a lot of stories to tell.

Do you have any regrets about your relationship?
No. I absolutely will never have regrets about being with him [and] loving somebody with everything that I have. Every experience, you learn and grow and navigate better the next time.

What has this breakup taught you about yourself?
That I’m stronger than I ever thought, because if I can get through this, then everything else is peanuts to me. I’ve gotten a lot of [messages] from girls saying that it’s an inspiration to see how I’ve put one foot in front of the other to get back out there, starting with the bachelorette trip, which was just three weeks [after the split]. I feel like I’m getting the momentum to find happiness and joy.

You’ve always said you want the happy ending of marriage and kids. Do you still feel that way?
Yes. I will never give up on love. I have a very big heart; I’m not going to shut myself off from somebody else who would appreciate it. [And] in the last month, all I could think was thank God I froze my eggs.

What kind of guy are you looking for?
Somebody ambitious, emotionally intelligent, who makes me laugh, can be intimate with me and lets me be me. I have a lot of friends looking to set me up [and] there’s definitely been some people sliding into my DMs. I’m excited for this new chapter. I think it’s gonna be really good.

Machine Gun Kelly turned heads when he pulled a fake sword on a photographer on the red carpet.

Kelly, 33, “asked politely not to be photographed” when he arrived with fiancée Megan Fox at Darren Dzienciol‘s Pop Icons Halloween Party on Friday, October 27, at a private estate in Beverly Hills, a source exclusively told Us Weekly. “They didn’t want to walk the red carpet, but it was the only way inside,” the insider explained.

But when a photographer snapped a photo, things took a turn for the worse. “[He] immediately unsheathed his sword and threatened the photographer,” the insider told Us. (The “Bloody Valentine” singer was carrying a replica of the Samurai sword used in Quentin Tarantino’s 2003 movie Kill Bill Vol. 1, for his costume as Uma Thurman’s character, The Bride.)

Kelly “confronted” the photographer with the sword and said, “I told you no f–king photos, a—hole.”

“He basically told him to put down his camera and got in his face,” added the source.

After the “humiliating” incident, Fox, 37, “just wanted to get inside.” Kelly, for his part, ended up “walking away” after the “brief heated exchange.”

According to the insider, Fox was already in a “bad mood” and didn’t want to go to another event after the Casamigos Halloween party earlier in the night. “She said she’d stay for a limited amount of time, but didn’t want to party hop,” the source told Us, adding that she didn’t want to be seen in the “same costume” at multiple events.

Fox was channeling the Kill Bill franchise for the night with the schoolgirl assassin Gogo Yubari, played by Chiaki Kuriyama.  The Transformers star donned a black wig, white platform boots with knee-high socks and painted blood down her cheeks.

Both Fox and Kelly raised eyebrows with their costume choices, which seemingly went against SAG-AFTRA strike rules. Despite the guild — which has been walking the picket lines since July — asking members to only “dress up as characters from non-struck content” and “not post photos of costumes inspired by struck content to social media,” Fox uploaded a photo of herself in the Kill Bill attire via Instagram on Friday, with the official SAG-AFTRA account tagged as her caption.

Friday’s sword incident isn’t the first time Fox has been caught in the crossfire during a confrontation involving her husband-to-be. The Jennifer’s Body star seemingly had to hold Kelly back as he and UFC fighter Conor McGregor got into an argument at the 2021 MTV VMAs. In July, the pair were at the Orange Country Fair in California when they got into a physical altercation with a stranger. As they exited a ride, Fox found herself in the middle of a brawl, getting pushed into a railing when the unidentified man attempted to punch her fiancé. (Kelly and Fox both left the attraction unharmed.)

Two months prior, All American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter recalled a heated moment he allegedly had with Kelly on an episode of the “Tuna on Toast With Stryker” podcast. Ritter, 39, was starring alongside Fox in the film Johnny & Clyde and went to her trailer to pitch ideas for their characters.

“I go over [to Megan’s trailer] and there’s her man in there with her. This Colson guy, who you know as Machine Gun Kelly. I call him ‘Pistol Pete,’” Ritter said during the May episode, noting that he asked Fox if he could put his fingers in her mouth during her character’s death scene — an idea he claimed Kelly was not happy about.

“Colson, like, just goes from zero to, like, rage and [was] super angry,” he said. “He was super bummed about me asking if I could put my fingers in Megan Fox’s mouth and I knew she was right there and he just went ballistic. He kind of went [into] maniac mode.”

Kelly and Fox — who began their romance in May 2020 — have seen their fair share of ups and downs as a couple. Earlier this month, a source exclusively told Us that the “twin flames” still have no wedding date in the books.

Fox and Kelly were first linked in May 2020 after getting close on the set of their film, Midnight in the Switchgrass. Later that month, Brian Austin Green confirmed that he and Fox had separated after nearly 10 years of marriage.
