Rapper and self-proclaimed Swiftie Flavor Flav gushed about Taylor Swift’s big win at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
“I love Taylor! That’s my girl. I’m a very big fan,” Flavor Flav, 64, exclusively told Us Weekly at Shaq’s Fun House on Friday, February 9, located at The Wynn’s XS nightclub in Las Vegas. Swift won the Grammys for Best Pop Vocal and Album of the Year, making it her 13th time and 14th winning at the award show, as noted by “King Swiftie” himself. “She did her thing. I’m very proud of her,” the rapper added.
The Grammys, which aired on Sunday, February 4, saw Swift win big for her album Midnights. When asked if he would ever consider collaborating with Swift on a future project, Flavor Flav told Us, “Who wouldn’t want to collab with Taylor? Can you tell me? Alright, okay? You’re talking to King Swiftie here.”
Flavor Flav shared a photo of the duo at the Grammys with the caption, “FLAVOR FLAV::: Y’all waited long enough ⏰KING SWIFTIE and QUEEN TAYLOR SWIFT just for you #Grammys.” He similarly praised Swift on the NFL Honors red carpet on Friday, February 9, saying that he “got to get some Taylor time” at the Grammys.
“The discussion was about me congratulating her on all her success,” he said of their conversation. “And me being a big fan of hers, a big supporter of hers.” For those curious, Flavor Flav’s favorite song from Swift’s discography is “Bad Blood.”

“I mean, that’s [about] everybody’s relationships, or everybody’s families, or everybody’s friendships, it’s like, you know, ‘I used to be good friends, now you did something to me, now we got bad blood, look what you’ve done!’” he said.
While Flavor Flav is already in Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII, Swift still has a ways to go before she can watch her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, play against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, February 11. Swift was reportedly rushed onto a plane shortly after performing in Tokyo as part of her Eras Tour to make it to the big game on time.
All is fair in love and sports? Us Weekly has low-stakes evidence that some San Francisco 49ers may be secretly listening to Taylor Swift as they prepare to hit the field for the 2024 Super Bowl. While plenty of Kansas City Chiefs players have praised Swift, 34, amid her relationship with the team’s tight end, […]
“Taylor is doing everything in her power to show up tomorrow for the Super Bowl,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly. With a 12-hour flight ahead of her and a 17-hour time difference, it remains unconfirmed if Swift will make it to Las Vegas in time to cheer Kelce on.

Either way, Flavor Flav doesn’t have any doubts about Swift or her relationship with the NFL star. “I’m proud of both of them, man,” Flavor Flav told Us about the couple. “I hope they last forever.”
The Veil almost didn’t come Moss’s way. Knight started writing after power producer Denise Di Novi (Edward Scissorhands,Little Women) floated a kernel of a premise to him: exploring the friction between intelligence agencies of different nations. Some exhaustive research later, and Knight had a vibrant, witty spy thriller centered on two mysterious women. “I gave Steve maybe a four-line idea, and then he came back to me with all of these relationships—it was wild to me,” Di Novi says. She wanted Moss from the get-go, but everyone involved told her, “Do not waste time, we want to get this going right away, she gets offered everything.” Undeterred, Di Novi reached the actor eventually—and Moss, looking for a project to take on during her Handmaid’s Tale hiatus, said yes swiftly after reading the script.
Moss shakes her head over Zoom as she listens to Di Novi recount the difficulty to simply make an offer. “The idea that it may not have come my way because somebody said that I may not want to do it is so terrifying,” says Moss, also an executive producer on The Veil. “It’s my worst nightmare.”
The Veil opens with Moss’s Imogen posing as a British NGO worker at a refugee camp on the border of Syria and Turkey. We glean, rather quickly, that this is not exactly who she is. A woman known as Adilah El Idrissi (Yumna Marwan) is being targeted by the community, who identify her as a notorious ISIS commander, and Imogen narrowly focuses on her predicament, promising to get Adilah to safety. Before long, they’ve escaped together, on the road to Istanbul, then Paris, then who knows—with Imogen vying to ascertain Adilah’s true motives and background, under supervision from both French and American intelligence agencies, before it’s too late. The conflicts and allegiances that arise between the two women reveal themselves as far more complex than the surface would indicate, reflective of a global power order in chaos.
Alison Sweeney revealed why her Chronicles Mysteries movie franchise has taken a back seat at Hallmark, and sorry sleuth lovers, it’s partially to do with the Hannah Swensen Mysteries.
“It’s tough in the landscape with all the different competing mysteries at Hallmark,” Sweeney, 47, exclusively told Us Weekly as to why fans haven’t seen more Chronicle Mysteries films. “And I think they feel that the Hannah Swenson series is the one they want to focus on.”
Sweeney broke into the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries genre playing baker Hannah Swensen in the Murder, She Baked films in 2015. After starring in six movies as the Cookie Jar owner and amateur sleuth, Sweeney’s Hannah Swensen adventures temporarily stopped in 2017.
The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel has won over fans with its variety of thrilling franchises over the years — and the list just keeps getting longer. Candace Cameron Bure, Lacey Chabert, Alison Sweeney and Holly Robinson Peete are just some of the names that have had their own movie series on the network over […]
The actress, however, didn’t stop making mysteries for the network. The Chronicles Mysteries premiered in 2019 with the last installment airing in 2021. During the five movies, Sweeney played podcast host, Alex McPherson, who works with newspaper editor Drew Godfrey (Benjamin Ayres) to solve crimes when they aren’t doing their real jobs.
“Oh my gosh, we loved working on those movies together. It was so much fun,” Sweeney told Us of acting alongside Ayres, 47. “Ben and I really enjoyed working together, and I’m sure we would love to figure something else out to do together again.”
While fans may be unhappy that Sweeney and Ayres aren’t reprising their mystery alter egos, the two recently teamed up to star in Hallmark Channel’s Love & Jane. The movie, which is part of the network’s Loveuary programming, follows Lilly (Sweeney) on her journey to find love with the help of her literary idol, Jane Austen.
Hallmark Media/David Astorga
“I am a huge Jane Austen fan, so when David Weaver, the writer, pitched me this idea, I jumped and grabbed on with both hands, like, ‘We’ve got to do this,’” Sweeney told Us of the project.
Love & Jane is Sweeney’s next Hallmark project, but it won’t be her last. Earlier this month, Hallmark announced that the actress will be back as Hannah Swensen in the upcoming One Bad Apple: A Hannah Swensen Mystery. The movie will mark the fourth Hannah Swensen Mystery since 2021, which is the revived movie franchise.
The Hallmark Channel has become the one-stop-shop of holiday movies and light-hearted rom-coms over the years — with many fans tuning in to see their favorite leading ladies. Whether it’s When Calls the Heart’s Erin Krakow or Sweet Autumn lead Nikki DeLoach, the network is full of talented women telling heart-warming stories. Hallmark’s long list […]
“I think the really crucial thing for Hannah is [that] we do work from the books, the wonderful Joanne Fluke books that she’s written, and she has 30 of them,” Sweeney told Us of the franchise’s future. “So there are tons of stories and mysteries and adventures for Hannah that lie in weight for her, which is so fun.”
Sweeney teased that her character’s future with ex-fiancé Mike Kingston (Cameron Mathison) might not be the end game movie fans want.
Bettina Strauss/Hallmark
“It is a push pull with Mike, and he isn’t always the right man for her every step of the way in those books,” Sweeney said. Hallmark confirmed to Us in February that Mathison, 54, will not be in the next Hannah Swensen Mystery after the network shared that Victor Webster will be part of the cast for the May release. Mathison’s future with the franchise has not been announced.
Sweeney, meanwhile, explained to Us that she’s looking to “focus on” Hannah’s desire to “be a better crime solver” in the next few movies.
Hallmark Channel movies often stick to a formula — and when it comes to similar character jobs, fans have noticed. “More than once, I’ve been a pastry chef or a chef,” Lacey Chabert exclusively told Us Weekly in October 2021. “So people always ask me like, ‘Do you like to cook?’ I actually, genuinely, love […]
She joked that her dad has to get “credit” for her new approach to Hannah. “Two or three movies ago, my dad was like, ‘That’s not enough evidence to convict someone. You don’t know that he did it,’” Sweeney told Us, noting it was a lightbulb moment. “[He’s like], ‘Well, I’m just saying, I mean, that’s not real evidence.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I think he’s right. I have to develop the evidence, get proof.’”
Love & Jane premieres on Hallmark Channel Saturday, February 10, at 8 p.m. ET.
During rehearsal, Miller also brought in a movement coach, a key figure in McGregor’s delicate but rigorous physical performance. “We did these extreme exercises of being very, very old and then very young, and thinking about our characters in different stages of their life,” he says. “I spent a lot of time, in his countly days at the beginning, being very upright in his amazing clothes and the way he moves. As I get older, all of that drops away and it becomes more loose—and so in a way, he de-ages physically.” Being able to shoot roughly chronologically allowed McGregor to sink deeper and deeper into the part. He didn’t initially realize the root of his profound investment in both the role and the story’s unique portrait of fatherhood. “In a loose way, he adopts somebody—and I am close to that,” he says. “I have an adopted daughter, and I almost didn’t notice the similarities until we were shooting it…. I felt very, very connected to the count.”
Another development deeper into filming: the romantic arc between the count and Anna, played by McGregor and Winstead—who are married in real life. In one early scene, Anna chides the count for tidying her room without permission—and snubs him for literal years. “To be in love and married to somebody, and then to get to play all those cold shoulder scenes, was just hilarious,” McGregor says. Near the shoot’s end, as the relationship took a tragic turn, the pair found the emotional intensity of their scenes following them home. “You just have to see what she’s done with this role—she’s such a brilliant actor, and the way Anna ages is absolutely heartbreaking at the end,” McGregor says. “We have a scene where we have to part, and we just were an absolute mess [after filming].”

No Doubt is kicking off the spiderwebs as they gear up to take the stage at Coachella for their first performance as a band in nine years.
“[Gwen] has been pushing for it hard,” a source exclusively shares in the new issue of Us Weekly, noting that the reunion between singer Gwen Stefani and bassist Tony Kanal, guitarist Tom Dumont and drummer Adrian Young had been in the works for a while, with Stefani, 54, working as the driving force.
The group last reunited in 2012 for the release of their sixth album, Push and Shove, and played a handful of shows in 2015 before going their separate ways the following year to focus on solo projects. According to a second insider, the band “hadn’t been into the idea” when it was brought up by Stefani in the past, but now they’re all on board.
“Once the Coachella team heard they had been talking and reached out with the offer, it really solidified the reunion,” the second source tells Us. “The whole group has some ideas for new material and are open to a tour directly after [their] performance.”
The new year is still young, but the calendar is already full of music festivals showcasing artists of all genres — and drawing in the biggest celebs. Festival season is usually characterized by surprise collaborations, major fashion moments and controversy, and 2024 will likely be no different. From Boston to L.A., dozens of different events […]
Before potentially hitting the road together on a more extensive basis, the band is focusing on catching up on old times and starting rehearsals in preparation for the music festival, which takes place across two weekends from Friday, April 12, to Sunday, April 21.

“Gwen is thrilled,” the first source adds. “It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
No Doubt was formed in 1986 and played underground gigs for nearly a decade before their first hit single, “Just a Girl,” made it to the radio airwaves. The band has since faced various ups and downs throughout their time together, including a breakup between Stefani and Kanal, 53, who dated from 1987 to 1994.
Ultimately able to remain amicable, the exes channeled their split into the smash hit “Don’t Speak,” which debuted in 1996 and scored nominations for Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals at the 40th Grammy Awards.
Hours before the official Coachella lineup was announced on January 16, Stefani teamed up with Kanal, Young, 54, and Dumont, 56, for a social media video to confirm their big reunion. “I’ll do a show! Do you want to do a show?” Stefani asked the other members in a clip shared via Instagram. The video ended with a big question mark, and fans flooded the comments section with hopes for a tour.

While speaking with People last month, Stefani said she’s “completely overwhelmed” by the excitement over the reunion and the love the band has received from their loyal fans.

Filming has only just started on The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18, but Heather Dubrow promises that there hasn’t been a slow day yet.
“Usually filming starts a little slow and takes some time to catch up. Not this year,” she told StyleCaster at the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Red Dress Collection Concert in New York on January 31. “This year, truth is stranger than fiction. You can’t make this stuff up. I think the audience is going to be very happy.”
One thing Bravo fans have to look forward to is the return of Alexis Bellino, who is set to come back as a Friend Of for Season 18, according to TMZ. Alexis, who previously starred on The Real Housewives of Orange County from Seasons 5 to 8, has been the talk of the Orange County ever since news broke in December that she was dating current RHOC cast member Shannon Beador’s ex-boyfriend, John Janssen.
“We’ve only just begun, so time will tell on all of that,” Heather said about how Alexis has fit in with the cast so far. “But I just think she’s terrific. I’ve known her for 13 years. We’ve only become closer over the last couple of years, so I’m really excited to have her back and I’m excited for the audience to see Alexis as who she is today, as an independent single mom. Her glow-up has been really great.”
Heather and Terry Dubrow.Astrid Stawiarz/Getty Images for The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Red Dress Collection Concert.
When asked if she’s nervous for Alexis and Shannon’s first time filming together, Heather simply smiled and said, “I have no comment.” Of course, Alexis isn’t the only thing fans have to look forward to on The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18. In early January, the Tres Amigas—consisting of Shanon, current RHOC cast member Tamra Judge, and RHOC alum Vicki Gunvalson—made headlines when Tamra revealed that she had fallen out with Shannon and Vicki, as well as quit the trio’s Tres Amigas comedy tour. The tour has since been rebranded as Shannon & Vicki Live!
“Listen, I think a lot of that stuff is really fluid. We’ll see what happens,” Heather said when asked whether she thinks the Tres Amigas can repair their relationship. “I think everything is possible. When you’ve had friendships for that many years and you’ve been with their families and seen them have children and marriages, you have history together. I don’t think you can toss that away so easily.”
Heather, who is married to Botched star Dr. Terry Dubrow, joined The Real Housewives of Orange County in Season 7. She left the series in Season 11 before returning in Season 16. Along with Heather, Shannon, and Tamra, The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 cast is also expected to include returning Housewives Gina Kirschenheiter, Emily Simpson, and Jennifer Pedranti. Alexis replaced former Friend Of Taylor Armstrong after her exit following Season 17.
Heather and Terry made headlines in August after Terry revealed in a virtual appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that he suffered a mini-stroke due an anatomical defect in his heart, which Heather forced him to check out at the time, consequentially saving his life.
“After Terry had his stroke last summer and it made some headlines, we have been very interested in keeping the conversation going in other people’s homes about cardiovascular health, knowing what the warning signs look like and trying to save some lives,” Heather said at Go Red for Women Red Dress Collection Concert.
Terry added, “We have great cures and great treatments, but if you don’t get an early diagnosis, they’re not effective. It’s the number one cause of death in men and women. Go to the doctor, get your heart work up for any age, and make sure you’re not at risk for a cardiovascular event.”
Heather and Terry also advise anyone over the age of 30 to be “surveyors” of their bodies and check up on their heart health. “We try to exercise every day. We do surveillance. We know exactly how much blockage there is in our coronary arteries, our carotid arteries, we know what our cholesterol is, we try to keep our body fat low. We’re very precise surveyors of our own bodies and we recommend that everybody do that starting at the age 30,” Terry said.
The Real Housewives of Orange County is available to stream on Peacock.
NEW YORK (WABC) — An army of police fanned out at migrant facilities throughout the city Wednesday night to target a problem that’s exploded in recent months: unregistered scooters.
Eyewitness News was on the scene as officers cracked down on the issue, they say has become a persistent quality of life issue in Manhattan.
“We had to come here, and we had to do our job,” said NYPD Assistant Commissioner Kaz Daughtry.
The first order of business was they went for the bikes.
Dozens of bikes without registrations were confiscated, some with plates stolen off other bikes somewhere in the city.
All of them were immediately carted away on a police flatbed.
Wednesday’s operation was about a lot more than illegal bikes, as it comes after Saturday night’s melee near Times Square, where a dozen men — believed to be asylum seekers — attacked two police officers.
Five were arrested on the spot.
“Nobody’s going home tonight until we find the guys who assaulted our cops,” assured Daughtry.
Police arrested the man dressed in yellow in the video and are still on the hunt for as many as five more.
“We’re not going to tolerate individuals attacking out cops,” said Daughtry. “That’s not going to happen. We will comb this globe to look for you and bring you to justice.”
NYPD Asst. Commissioner Daughtry led teams of cops who scoured the area around the Row Hotel, a migrant center in Hell’s Kitchen, and they inspected more of those bikes, which have been involved in a growing number of robberies and the focus of police citywide for weeks.
“We are seeing an uptick of scooter robberies in the city, particularly in Manhattan, where individuals are on scooters, normally two on a scooter, and they’re taking their cell phones, AirPods, Beats, wallets, purses,” said Daughtry. “We’re going to be over aggressively going after these scooters and moped on city streets.”

Despite the controversy surrounding Ozempic, Dr. Terry Dubrow shut down the idea that it’s dangerous, revealing what he thinks people should be more cautious about instead.
“I have news for you. Tylenol is more dangerous than these drugs. Tylenol is one of the most dangerous drugs you can take,” Dubrow, 65, claims in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly while chatting about the eighth season of Botched, currently airing on E!.
The plastic surgeon continues: “In fact, there’s been an epidemic of liver failure from Tylenol. So the FDA has put out a thing about, ‘Do not let your patients take this much Tylenol.’” (Taking too much acetaminophen is the most common cause of acute liver failure in the U.S., according to Mayo Clinic. The FDA recommends following dosage instructions from your doctor or the manufacturer’s label.)
While Ozempic was created as a Type 2 diabetes medication, celebrities like Tracy Morgan and Amy Schumer have candidly revealed they’ve used semaglutide injections to rapidly shed weight.
Ozempic has become a hot topic when it comes to weight loss — with some stars confirming they have used the drug while others denied it. Chelsea Handler admitted during a January 2023 episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that she unknowingly took the Type 2 diabetes medication, which is traditionally used to improve […]
Even though Ozempic has recently become en vogue, Dubrow — who’s been a champion of the drug — explains that this weight loss method is nothing new.
“These drugs have been around for about 10 years now, and they have been studied completely,” he says, alleging that the drug is “the biggest medical breakthrough in history.”
Terry DubrowRoy Rochlin/Getty Images
While taking Ozempic, some users have discussed negative gastrointestinal side effects they’ve faced as well as dropping to an unhealthy weight. Dubrow has heard the criticism, but notes that he thinks the side effects are “worth it” for those who are overweight.
Dubrow reveals he went on the drug Mounjaro, which is similar to Ozempic. He shares he experienced nausea within the first couple days of every weekly injection.
Weighing in. Real Housewives such as Kyle Richards, Dolores Catania and more have addressed whether they used diabetes medication Ozempic for weight loss. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star sparked speculation about using the drug after she debuted her slimmed-down figure in January 2023 via a bikini selfie. Richards then opened up about how […]
Despite his favorable reviews of the drug, Dubrow has stopped taking it himself — but the side effects weren’t the reason why. “I went off it just because I wanted to eat again,” he shares.
The plastic surgeon, who is married to The Real Housewives of Orange County star Heather Dubrow, notes that weight loss drugs like Mounjaro and Ozempic are safe, but “you have to learn how to use” them.
“The thing we don’t really understand is you don’t need diabetic doses and it’s being prescribed in diabetic doses,” he tells Us. “You probably should just stay on a low dose or go off it once you lose your weight.”
Terry also addresses the idea that a user’s body wouldn’t maintain the weight loss. He points out that “if you go off your diet and your exercise routine, you’re also going to gain weight back.”
Shocking, indeed! Some celebs seek out extreme methods to shed pounds, while others transform with the aid of healthier methods. From Rosie O’Donnell’s and Jordin Sparks’ respective 50 pound weight losses to Biggest Loser winner Rachel Frederickson’s whopping 155 lighter frame, see before and after pictures of celebrities’ weight loss transformations.
“It’s really good as a reset, or you get down to the body weight you want, you either stay on it, on a low dose, or you go off it and say, ‘OK, I’m going to make better food choices,’” he shares.
When he’s not defending the use of Ozempic and similar weight loss drugs, Terry is starring in Botched, which he teases is “different” this season.
“This is my favorite season,” he says. “I actually thought we’d have a lot more complications than we did. We were sort of saying, ‘OK, we’re taking on these impossible cases.’ We’re going to have complications. There’s going to be some botch by the Botched doctors this season, which is so scary when you think about it, but I think you’ve got to watch.”

There are issues about representation. There are types of actors that have not been given sufficient chances to play great parts. All of these things are in the process of being revised and improved and changed, and that’s all absolutely right. At the same time as that movement is happening, what shouldn’t be sacrificed is the sort of basic fundamental principle of actors being able to play things that they are not necessarily, because then that’s not art. If an actor’s body is their canvas, my body is my tool—the painter uses a canvas, the actor uses their own body—so within that definition of acting, there has to be the possibility of transformation. And sometimes the most interesting, creative work comes from where somebody who is not something is coming up against it, and it’s the fizz of that—the joining of two that makes it interesting.
So what did that look like for you? What was your relationship to Capote’s work, and were you reading a lot of him in the lead-up to this?
Not as much as I should, I should be able to say, yes, I read every word, but… When we were doing it, literally, my day was spent learning the lines, the weekends were learning the lines, the evenings were learning the lines, and the days were shooting them. I’d read Other Voices, Other Rooms and In Cold Blood when I was young, and I remembered them, and I’d read a few of the short stories. And Music for Chameleons, I read just before we started. But I’m no authority on Truman Capote. I think I’ve read enough of him to have a sense of how good he was.
But in terms of what I know about him as a man, it’s what we did in this show, which has kind of come through what Robbie knows of him. I’m the actor. I’m the vessel through which all their work and their assimilation of the different elements gets presented. I just try and embody what they have created. It was beyond Truman, probably, at some point. I don’t think we should be thinking of it as a biopic. The biopics were those two films; this is taking him as a sort of mythical figure that you can do stuff with tonally.
What was it like to get into the role every day? Some of your co-stars have said they feel like they met you, Tom, only after filming wrapped.
I had an amazing team around me, without whom I would’ve had a collapse of some sort. Jerome Butler, my voice coach, was a wing man and sort of just buddy and brilliant collaborator, who helped me find the voice and was always there. Polly Bennett is a movement person who I’ve worked with before in the theater, and a couple of times she came over for a bit and helped me. We had fun working out what my version of Truman could be physically, to find a language for that. And then you learn the lines. Then I imagine saying the lines as me, and you try and sort of blur yourself with the character. What I couldn’t do playing this part was look at it. I couldn’t watch myself. I couldn’t look at the monitor because I found it literally physically nauseating to watch myself. He’s a very, very singular guy, Truman Capote. The ideal scenario is to be sitting completely still. beautifully lit with a cigarette doing a little pose. And then I can watch it and I go, okay, that looks fine. But Truman is too active, too mobile, too vocally extraordinary for me to watch it.
Britney Spears’ ex Sam Asghari appears to be living his best life since his split from the superstar. On January 8, he posed for red carpet photos at the Young Hollywood & the Breakout Stars of 2023 event in L.A., and three days later, the US Sun reported he’d name-dropped Spears to score a photo with Brad Pitt at a Beverly Hills gallery exhibition.
The “Toxic” singer isn’t exactly thrilled Asghari is still using his connection to her to secure invites to industry events and rub shoulders with Hollywood’s elite. “She feels Sam is playing the ‘Mr. Britney Spears’ card for everything it’s worth,” says a source, “and she finds it kind of pathetic.”
It’s been especially hard on Spears, 42, as she and Asghari are currently clashing over the details of their divorce. The former trainer, 29, filed for divorce in August 2023 after 14 months of marriage. As Us previously reported, Spears and Asghari signed an ironclad prenup before they tied the knot in June 2022, but now sources claim Asghari wants more money.
“Sam feels he should be compensated properly for everything he went through with Britney,” says one source, referring to the erratic behavior and mood swings Asghari witnessed while married to the pop star. “The exact amount he wants is being kept confidential, but he’s not happy with what Britney and her team have proposed.” Adds a second source: “Sam is going for everything under the sun.” Representatives for Spears declined to comment on the divorce proceedings. A representative for Asghari did not respond to a request for comment.

A source told Us in July 2022 that, per the terms of their prenup, Asghari would get $1 million for every two years of marriage to Spears, while waiving his rights to the Grammy winner’s music catalog and signing an NDA. (She’s worth an estimated $60 million.) But the settlement is “stuck in limbo,” says the first source. “There’s a lot of wrangling back and forth. Things have become a lot more complicated than both of them had hoped it would be.”
While Spears had reportedly been paying for Asghari’s luxury apartment rental following their split, a third source tells Us that’s no longer the case. “Britney is in no mood to be pushed around or rushed into signing over another huge check to Sam,” says the first source, noting that so far, she isn’t budging when it comes to the terms of their prenup. “She wants to stick to the letter of the paperwork and feels that’s all he’s entitled to, period.”
It was love at first sight when Britney Spears and Sam Asghari met in October 2016 on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video, but the fairy-tale does not have a happy ending. Spears was charmed when chatting with Asghari and the pair exchanged phone numbers and continued to get to know each other. […]
It’s a sore subject for the star. In 2022, Spears’ legal team claimed her father, Jamie, paid himself at least $6 million while acting as her conservator and spent more than $30 million of her earnings on legal fees associated with the 13-year conservatorship. “Britney is still deeply resentful over how much money certain family members have managed to mooch off of her through the years,” says the first source. After her 2007 divorce from Kevin Federline, Spears reportedly paid the former backup dancer $1.3 million, and he receives $40,000 a month from her in child support for their two sons, Sean, 18, and Jayden, 17, who live with him in Hawaii.
“Sam wishes Britney well but wants what’s fair,” a source says of Asghari pushing for more money.MEGA
Now Asghari believes he’s entitled to more than he agreed to initially. “Sam isn’t hurting for cash, but he’s willing to dig in and fight for the extra money he feels he deserves,” says the first source. An insider told Us in January 2023 that Spears was “emotionally abusive” and could be “cruel” toward Asghari, often taking her stress out on him. The insider said she also blamed Asghari for their May 2022 miscarriage, telling him that she “lost the baby because he is never home.”
Things seemed amicable enough when Spears and Asghari announced their split in August. “We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always,” he wrote in an Instagram statement. Spears confirmed the breakup a few days later, telling fans via social media that she was “a little shocked” but doing “pretty damn good.” She added, “I’m not here to explain why because it’s honestly nobody’s business.”
Britney Spears’ career and personal life have faced a series of ups and downs over the years. Spears first showed off her vocal skills on the singing competition Star Search at 10 years old in 1992. Following a stint on The Mickey Mouse Club, she signed a record deal with Jive Records in 1997 and […]
At the time, rumors circulated Spears had been unfaithful with a member of her staff, but an insider told Us Spears’ inner circle “would be really surprised if she cheated,” adding, “Britney and Sam wanted different things and couldn’t agree on several issues such as having children.” In 2022, a source told Us the pair had “skipped the honeymoon phase” of their marriage and were “constantly fighting,” particularly over Spears’ lack of focus and built-up anger from her conservatorship.

As of now, Spears and Asghari aren’t speaking. “They’ve exchanged pleasantries, but generally they don’t talk,” says the first source. “It’s difficult with this situation being unresolved, plus both of them are keen to put the marriage behind them and move on with their lives.” During a January 7 interview with Life & Style, Asghari said he was focused on his acting career and added that he was “not looking for a partner.”
This past year had Us questioning whether love is even real after a months-long onslaught of celebrity breakups. One of the first shocking splits that took the world by storm in 2023 was Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix. Us Weekly confirmed in March that the Vanderpump Rules stars broke up after nearly a decade of […]
Spears would like to settle down again eventually, but the first source says she’s not in a rush. In late January, she shared photos of herself enjoying some beach time in French Polynesia. “Britney’s just cutting loose, flirting with cute guys and looking to have fun,” says the source. “She’s not up for anything serious.”
“Acting is a natural extension of their relationship,” a source exclusively reveals in the newest issue of Us Weekly about the couple’s interest in sharing the screen.
According to the insider, Dunst, 41, and Plemons, 35, who have worked together on several projects over the years, aren’t ruling out another collaboration. “They get to take themselves out of their comfort zones and collaborate as a team, which is a lot of fun for them,” the source added.
Love on set! Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons are one of the many Hollywood couples who met while filming a TV show. Dunst and Plemons played married high school sweethearts Peggy and local butcher Ed on the FX series Fargo. They starred on season 2 of the series. “It was a gift,” the Friday Night […]
“It was a gift,” Plemons gushed during a PaleyFest interview at the time when asked about working with Dunst. “I loved Kirsten’s work for a long time, and I was really excited once I’d met her, and she’s a great person, and we’re both actors that just … have fun with the material.”

Dunst later recalled how their shared projects brought them together. “We kind of fell in love creatively first and fell in love as actors. We got together after [Fargo] … I just knew he was awesome and that we were about to work together,” she said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in November 2021. “I watched all of Friday Night Lights for the first time. We were cold in Calgary, and there wasn’t much to do so I went on a Jesse Plemons [binge]. [But] I have not seen [Breaking Bad] and I feel weird about it. That’s the last thing he wants to watch with me.”
Us broke the news one year later that the pair were expecting their first child. They welcomed their son Ennis in 2018, and son James arrived in 2021. Dunst and Plemons have since reunited on screen in The Power of the Dog and will also appear together in the upcoming movie Civil War.

“I don’t wanna do another project without [Kirsten]. It’s just the best,” Plemons said during a December 2021 interview with People. “We fell in love creatively first on Fargo, just immediately trusted each other. I’m constantly amazed by what she brings. She just operates from such a deep place in her soul.”
Relationship goals? It’s not every day that one gets to work alongside their significant other, but several celebrity couples have been lucky enough to do just that over the years — even after tying the knot! John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, for example, have appeared in a few of the same projects. The first time […]
Us confirmed in January 2017 that Dunst and Plemons got engaged. The duo, however, weren’t in a rush to walk down the aisle.
“We have to get married at this point. It’s ridiculous. We just haven’t planned a wedding,” Dunstjoked to the Los Angeles Times in February 2022. “I didn’t want to be pregnant, get married, have a party and not be able to have fun with everybody.”

Hey dudes, you’ll never believe what’s happening — the cast of Hey Dude is attending 90s Con!
Us Weekly can exclusively announce that Christine Taylor, David Lascher, Kelly Brown and Josh Tygiel will be on hand for the fan-focused event in Hartford, Connecticut. The annual convention will take place from March 15 to March 17.
While 90s Con has been running for years, this is the first time any Hey Dude cast member will be in attendance. Thats4Entertainment will be hosting this year’s festivities, which include Q&A panels, meet and greets for fans, photo ops with the groups and solo actors as well as autographs and selfie opportunities.
Nothing like a little reunion! Stars from both TV and film are constantly reuniting in Hollywood, whether it be on a red carpet or for a new project. Check out stars — from shows and movies like That ’70s Show, Saved by the Bell and Full House — that have come together years after they took their last bows together
Hey Dude aired from 1989 to 1991 and consisted of five seasons. It followed a group of friends who work at a dude ranch while facing the ups and downs of adolescence. The main characters included Brad (Brown), Melody (Taylor), Ted (Lascher), Buddy (Tygiel), Danny (Joe Torres), Lucy (Debi Kalman) and Mr. Ernst (David Brisbin).
Ahead of their 90s Con reunion, Taylor, 52, and Lascher, 51, teamed up in 2022 to launch their podcast, “Hey Dude … The 90s Called!” During a December 2022 episode, the twosome revealed that while they never played love interests, they did date back in the day.

“You are my first real love, it was full of teen angst and everything you can imagine,” Lascher told Taylor during the first podcast episode. “You and I bonded over humor, laughter and I just remember we would just make fun of everyone and everything in a lighthearted way. We just laughed for two years straight.”
Lascher joked, “I was nervous to even ask you if wanted to talk about it, but we’re both happily married and we’re adults. But yeah, we were hot and heavy.” (Lascher is now married to Jill London, while Taylor wed Ben Stiller in 2000.)
Looking back, Taylor said she took “full responsibility” for their split, which came while the show was still filming. “[It] was not fun. I have memories of you being really angry with me during certain episodes,” she quipped. “I was terrible. I was non-confrontational and had no idea how to talk or deal with it.”
The pair were able to overcome the awkwardness of their breakup and work together to help revive their show via their podcast. The task was made that much easier when Taylor’s husband, 58, successfully located the whole show on DVD for her to watch back.
“I remember it was before the DVDs. There was a period of time where I was trying to get a hold of the episodes because my dad had recorded them on VHS. So that puts it all in perspective. My dad had a catalog, and I was like, ‘Not only is that going to be horrible quality, I don’t want to spend any time to transfer those to CDs,’” Taylor exclusively recalled to Us in January 2023. “We were trying to get them all and Nickelodeon was owned by Paramount, and I’d just done the Brady Bunch movie. So we went to Paramount. We’re like, ‘Do you have a catalog of this show?’”
Rick Kern/WireImage
Taylor revealed that Stiller was the one who eventually found them. “And Ben as a birthday gift for me, got all of the DVDs and put it in, like, a binder. It’s like an embossed logo of a leather binder. … This must have been, like, 2000.”
While Taylor said she was “excited to pop in an episode and show my kids,” her daughter, Ella, 21, and son Quinlin, 18, didn’t instantly appreciate the ‘90s series.
“Ten minutes in, they were literally, like, looking around like, ‘How much longer are you gonna make us watch this?’ Because it’s quiet and slow. It’s not great editing or music every second,” she explained. “It was not something they decided to go in to see all 65 episodes. I think they got their 10 minutes of episode one!”
Although Taylor’s kids didn’t take to Hey Dude, many fans have remained dedicated to the iconic show. Those individuals will get to see the cast firsthand in March, where Lascher will be playing double duty.
Lascher will be popping in on the Sabrina the Teenage Witch panels — he played Josh — when he’s not hanging with his former dude ranch pals, Us can confirm. Melissa Joan Hart, Jenna Leigh Green,Beth Broderick, Nate Richert, and Alimi Ballard will all be in Connecticut to represent the show.

For many actors, the cringe-y commercial when they’re just starting out is somewhat a rite of passage, but no such thing exists for Bebe Wood—not really. Once upon a time, she was “a laughing child for a television provider or a cable company.” She recalls, “I think it only aired in New York state. I can’t even remember the name of it.” There are very few actors, however, who can count Tina Fey as their first-ever scene partner. Wood is among them.
It was 2012 and in a tiny café in Queens, Wood played “Catherine, but everyone calls me Cat” in an episode of 30 Rock (Season 6, Episode 18). Fey, a revered comedy legend, was the first person that Wood—just 10 years old at the time—exchanged dialogue with on-screen. “She was amazing,” the Kansas City native says. “Tina just made that day so special. I think she really showed me what performing is all about.”
It could’ve gone completely differently. Wood’s parents weren’t psyched about her pursuing acting (the volatile nature of the industry is enough to make any parent wary), but she “begged and begged and begged” and finally, they caved. An audition here, a callback there, and Wood’s day on the 30 Rock set ended up being the litmus test on which her career teetered.
“You have these dreams as a child, like ‘Oh, I hope one day I can do this, oh, I hope one day I can do that.’ And then you finally get there, and it may not actually be anything like what you expect it to be,” Wood says. “There’s a huge possibility that on that day, I could have just gotten there, done the job, and realized that acting wasn’t for me.”
She might’ve been a historian had it all not worked out, but cut to 12 years later, Wood has come full circle (and you can probably gather that acting is very much for her). After a handful of minor to recurring TV roles, she stars as Gretchen Wieners in Fey’s refreshed Mean Girls—a cinematic adaptation of the Broadway musical stage production. How serendipitous that the witness to the launch of her career would also facilitate her Big Break a little over a decade later. Life’s funny like that, huh? “My career, I attribute it to Tina,” Wood says emphatically.
On a dreary New York morning in January, I sat down with Wood at StyleCaster’s studios to talk about her audition for Mean Girls and find out if her parents have changed their minds about her career choice.
StyleCaster: Paint a bit of a picture for me. What was your first experience with acting? Bebe Wood: It started such a long time ago. I always wanted to be an actor ever since I was a little girl; since I was three years old. My parents took me to a production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on the West End and we were sitting in the front row.
In the middle of the show, the Child Catcher leaned over the edge of the stage, put his little sickle on my nose in the middle of the performance, and said, “I’ll get you kitty witty”. I didn’t even freak out. Apparently, I just started giggling and laughing, and I loved it. My parents were like, “That’s odd. That is bizarre.”
I would have burst into tears and sworn off musical theater for the rest of my life, I think. Right? Little three-year-old me was like, “Well, that’s just delightful.” I think that’s the moment that I caught the bug and fell in love with acting.
After you were in 30 Rock with Tina Fey, did she make the connection when you auditioned for Mean Girls? So, I’ll tell you how I perceived the situation, and then she recently told me something that gave me some more information about how it actually went down.
I got an email to audition for Mean Girls in November of 2022. I put myself on tape, I didn’t hear for months. Then in January, I got an email that said, “Hey, can you meet the directors tomorrow?” And I was like, “Oh, sure. I’ll pop on that Zoom.” It was supposed to be me, the directors, and our casting director. When I logged onto Zoom, the first person that I saw was Tina. She said to me, “Hey, Bebe, do you remember me?”
The Tina Fey was asking if you remembered her? It was very overwhelming, very surreal, and a bit emotional for me. I called my mom afterward in, like, a teary mess and I remember saying, “I don’t really care if I get the job at this point,” because that just felt like such a beautiful, full-circle moment. That was around the 10-year milestone of my career.
So, tell me the other side of the story. Yeah, so recently Tina told me that they were looking through audition tapes and they couldn’t find who should play Gretchen. So, she was like, “I want to see every tape,” and she did watch every single one. Then, she watched mine and apparently—which sounds crazy—but she was like, ‘That’s her like, that’s Gretchen.’ Then she looked at my IMDB page and saw that the first job I did was 30 Rock. She put it in a really sweet way: “I picked you once and I picked you again.”
What did you do for your audition? So, we didn’t have a choice, I did Gretchen’s song “What’s Wong With Me?”. I wasn’t super familiar with the Broadway musical, but I knew and loved this song. There’s just something so intimate and vulnerable and raw about it.
Ashley Park, who has a cameo in this film as the French teacher, played Gretchen in the Broadway production. Did she offer any advice to you? I’ve never met her! I was on set every single day and miraculously, the one day I had off was the day that she was there. A total bummer. I would totally love to get to know her. I think she’s so, so talented.
What about the original Gretchen, Lacey Chabert? Did you reach out to her? I haven’t met her either. I know that Jack Welch [new Damian] spoke with Daniel [Franzese, OG Damian] at the premiere, which I think is so sweet.
There are so many fun scenes. Which was the most fun to film? There were a lot of really surreal moments. The very first day we introduced the Burn Book in Regina’s room so that was surreal. But maybe the most fun day for me was the winter talent show.
It’s iconic. So iconic. I also love dancing. I was just so happy and thrilled. Like, I didn’t even feel the heels on my feet.
There’s so much hype around this film. Has all of this craziness sunk in yet? I don’t know if there’s any real true way to process everything that’s happening, because there’s so much happening all at once. I think this entire thing is crazy, like, I really can’t believe that the stars aligned in this way. It doesn’t feel real.
How do your parents feel about it all now? They don’t care [laughs]. Like, they really don’t care. I’m like, “Oh look, I’m on a billboard!” and they’re like, “Great, what should we have for dinner?”
They’ll always keep you grounded then. Totally. When you’re in the thick of it, I’m just like, “Well, this is my life,” and I’m so grateful for it. I love my job.
Mean Girls is in theaters now.

Hyundai’s India subsidiary has fixed a bug that exposed its customers’ personal information in the South Asian market.
TechCrunch reviewed a portion of the exposed data that included the registered owner name, mailing address, email address, and phone number of Hyundai Motor India customers who have serviced their vehicles at any company’s authorized service stations across India. The bug also disclosed vehicle details, including the registration number, color, engine number, and mileage covered.
In a phone conversation on Thursday, Hyundai Motor India spokesperson Siddhartha P. Saikia said the company would provide a statement. When shared by email, the statement said:
“We understand the importance of safeguarding the data of our customers and accordingly strive to create robust systems and processes. Further, these systems get periodically reviewed and updated based on needs. The Repair Order/Invoice link is shared only on the mobile number registered by the customer, once they have opted in to receive such updates. These are system-generated links without any human involvement. Hyundai assures continued efforts to safeguard the interest of the customers.”
Hyundai Motor India did not answer questions about whether it had the technical means, such as logs, to determine any improper access to a customer’s records, nor would the company say if any bad actors exploited the issue.
Security researcher Ashutosh, who preferred not to be named in full, shared the details about the simple bug with TechCrunch. The bug exposed the customer’s personal information through the web links Hyundai Motor India shared with customers over WhatsApp after receiving their vehicles for servicing at an authorized service station.
The web links that redirected customers to the repair orders and invoices in PDF files contained the customer’s phone number. A malicious actor could expose the information of other customers by changing the phone number in the link.
TechCrunch confirmed the researcher’s findings and emailed Hyundai Motor India on December 29. The company responded on January 4. TechCrunch shared the details of the bug with Hyundai Motor India on the same day, and requested Hyundai Motor India fix the bug within seven days due to its simplicity and severity. Hyundai Motor India fixed the bug on Thursday.
Upon receiving the company’s response, TechCrunch confirmed the bug was fixed, and the links in concern were no longer active — redirected to a page giving an error message.
Established in 1996, Hyundai Motor India is among the top three carmakers in the country, alongside Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors. Hyundai Motor India has a network of over 1,500 service stations in the country. In May, the carmaker announced an investment of $2.45 billion (200 billion Indian rupees) over the next 10 years in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu to bolster its plans for electric vehicles.
The very first shot of the 2024 musical reimagining of “Mean Girls” is a vertical frame. Two characters, Janis (played by Auli’i Cravalho) and Damian (Jaquel Spivey), film themselves singing a song that sets the stage for the story to follow. They’re troubadours for the TikTok set — and this is a “Mean Girls” for a new generation.
The Cady Heron, Regina George, and Aaron Samuels of the original film, released in 2004, had never seen an iPhone — those wouldn’t debut for another three years. “Instagram,” “Twitter,” and “Snapchat” would have sounded like gibberish. Karen was just a name, and Donald Trump was just a business mogul.
Twenty years later . . . well, things are different. We’ve seen not just a technological revolution, but a cultural one. More Americans have become more aware of how rampant racism and discrimination — from microaggressions to hate crimes — are in this country. And while we still have a long way to go, people have a greater understanding of the harm caused by failing to adequately represent a diversity of identities on screen.
In 2004, the original film did make jokes about racial stereotypes (“If you’re from Africa, why are you white?”), but it didn’t go so far as to cast a person of color in any of the main roles. (Actually, that was a joke in the original movie, too: Kevin G asks Janis if she’s Puerto Rican. “Lebanese,” answers Janis, played by Lizzy Caplan, who’s white.)
The new “Mean Girls” cast is notably more diverse than the original, and the cast tells POPSUGAR that they’re grateful for the ability to bring their characters into 2024 by integrating more of their individual identities.
“I got to bring a little bit of myself to the character,” says Bebe Wood, who plays Gretchen Wieners. “I was talking with [director Arturo Perez Jr.] and he was like, ‘Wait, I heard somewhere that you’re Latina . . . We should just add something in there.’”
“[I]t was exciting to add just a little nod to my heritage within the role.”
The addition to the script was small — a single mention of her abuelito — but for Wood, the impact was huge. “I’ve never been able to play Cuban American before,” she says. “So it was exciting to add just a little nod to my heritage within the role.”
Avantika, who plays Karen Shetty in the new film, was similarly grateful to be able to embrace her background on screen. “It really meant a lot when . . . at the initial table read, [screenwriter Tina Fey] was like, ‘Is there anything about the name like Karen Smith that you want to change?’” Avantika says. “And I was like, ‘I’m South Indian, I’ve never gotten to play someone who’s openly South Indian, and I speak Telugu at home; would it be possible to bring in the last name from my culture?’ . . . And so we decided on Karen Shetty. That’s really special to me that [Fey] gave me the space and freedom to bring that.”
Karen isn’t the only character to get a new name: Janis Ian is now Janis ‘Imi’ike, reflective of Cravalho’s Hawaiian heritage. Cravalho wants to get to a place where diversity in film is the rule, rather than the exception. “Every film that I’m in, I get asked about: ‘Why is representation important in films?’” she says. “Thank you for asking me that question — but can we move on a little bit? A space that I’m trying to move out of is being asked always about, ‘How important is it to you to be the first pioneer?’ I am excited to open the doors and just break through. [But] I don’t want to be the first.”
This name-claiming is especially meaningful in a film where name-calling and misnaming cause so much harm. The Plastics, “fugly slut,” “dyke” (in the new version, updated to “pyro lez”): they’re all names and labels doled out like candy-cane grams, and the students of North Shore High feel the burn.
“Maybe you don’t label me and I won’t label myself and I can just be whatever I want.”
Spivey says that he tries to ignore labels that other people stick on him; they aren’t the truth, he says. “Even in the film, Regina calls Karen stupid, so therefore Karen feels like she’s stupid. But I have a strong feeling if Karen didn’t listen, she wouldn’t feel stupid. You know what I mean?” Spivey tells POPSUGAR. “So for me, I think a lot of people can be like, ‘Oh yeah, you’re a plus-size queer actor.’ I am, but I’m also just an actor. So maybe you don’t label me and I won’t label myself and I can just be whatever I want.”
This sentiment is echoed by this generation’s Regina George, Reneé Rapp. Rapp is openly bisexual (and has hinted in prior interviews and on social media that her Regina might not be as straight as the character’s relationships with Aaron Samuels and Shane Oman might indicate). But she also makes clear that only she has the right to comment on her sexuality.
“I’ve come out a lot of different times in my life and with a couple of different things, and it recently has changed a lot for me,” says Rapp, perhaps referring to her portrayal of Leighton Murray, a college freshman who comes out as a lesbian on “The Sex Lives of College Girls.” “But I cannot tell you how many times I’ve received comments in the last month or two that are just like, ‘Oh, congrats on [coming out] again,’” she says, her tone changing to the vocal equivalent of an eye roll. “And I was like, bro, actually fuck you. You suck.”
There’s power in claiming and coming into your identity. And the people who try to put you in a box or use your individuality to hurt you? Rapp is right: they suck.
Angourie Rice says she’s learning to let go of the opinions and expectations others have of her — not unlike her character, Cady Heron. “When I was 17, I had a really great year in terms of work and publicity, and it was my final year of high school and I graduated. And that felt like a really successful year for me. I think when you’re a young person working in the industry and you get success at a particular point in your life, there’s maybe a pressure to sort of stay at that point in your life,” she says. “[You think], ‘Oh, that’s when I got the most validation, therefore I should be like that always.’”
But Rice is looking to grow and sees how relying on external affirmation for her sense of self-worth could be holding her back. “For me, [I’m working on] releasing that constant need for validation because I got it so much at this particular point in my life,” she says. “I’m not 17 anymore.”
Stepping into the role of ultimate teen heartthrob Aaron Samuels came with similar pressures for Christopher Briney. But in playing Aaron, “I just tried to be Chris,” he says. “I really wanted to break free of expectations of what I thought people wanted to see when they see Aaron Samuels.”
It takes a special kind of environment to be able to foster so much freedom and vulnerability in the actors’ performances — and the cast says they felt supported by one another immediately.
“The friendships came easy. It was so easy, so fun to work with these people. I loved it so much,” Rice reminisces. “I think also we were all so committed to making the movie the best it could possibly be, and I learned a lot from both Jaquel and Auli’i. Auli’i stands up for herself so much. Jaquel is one of the funniest performers I know. And so just being in a room with these two people and learning so much from how they work and who they are was a treat.”
Spivey agrees. After all, he says, Fey set the tone from day one that the whole film is about high school — that you have to have fun for it to really translate. As he puts it, “It’s an actor’s dream to be able to step into a space and feel comfortable enough to play — and to play as much as you can and discover.”
This post contains spoilers about episode nine of Fargo’s fifth season.
There are two people Jennifer Jason Leigh had in mind when it came to crafting her delectable, scenery-chewing matriarch in the new installment of Noah Hawley’s Fargo: William F. Buckley, the flamboyant conservative commentator, and her own mother, the late Emmy-nominated screenwriter Barbara Turner. “When I veered more toward Buckley, it could get a little more grand,” she tells Vanity Fair of her performance. “When I would veer toward my mother, I could bring it in.”
One can see a bit more of the latter, perhaps, in Leigh’s tender and commanding work in the series’s penultimate episode, “The Useless Hand,” which premiered Tuesday night. Up until this point, Leigh’s powerful Lorraine Lyon—with her exquisitely expensive wardrobe, haughty mid-Atlantic accent, and Cheshire cat grin—had been skeptically investigating the disappearance of her daughter-in-law, Dot (Juno Temple). But as the reality of Dot’s mysterious past and her abusive former partner, Roy Tillman (Jon Hamm), become clear, Lorraine realizes she needs to take action to hold her family together. And so she does, making a few simple phone calls that set the stage for an epic clash between law enforcement and Tillman’s criminal-militia enterprise. The result feels like classic Fargo, and a culmination of the show’s bold statements on the state of the country.
Leigh is having the time of her life in this part, owning every room she walks into just as Lorraine does. But what’s most impressive about her turn is the way, in an episode like this, she subtly gives this larger-than-life figure some new dimension. It’s a trademark of the Oscar-nominated actor, who’s been known for taking on big, complicated roles, from the ’90s independent scene to her resurgence in Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight, and imbuing them with a tough, hard-earned humanity. In an exclusive breakdown with Vanity Fair, Leigh reveals what led her to this moment—both in Fargo, and her career.
Vanity Fair:Let’s jump right into episode nine, and how it advances Lorraine’s arc. There’s a real shift in terms of her relationship to Dot and her place in the story. You don’t know at the beginning of the show whether you’re meeting a villain.
Jennifer Jason Leigh: Nor did I know when I first read it, because I only read the first three episodes.
Did you talk it through after that, though?
In talking to [Hawley] at the beginning, he did tell me that she would have this tremendous arc, but when I first read, we were just given three episodes—you don’t know what her place is or where. The thing about Fargo is you can never trust your take on a character. They’re always going to end up surprising you in some profound way.
Rihanna is doing her best to be there for her partner, ASAP Rocky, before his trial begins on Monday, January 8.
“Rihanna is focusing on remaining calm as Rocky’s trial approaches next week,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly of the beauty mogul, 35. “She knows the whole situation is out of her hands, and all she can do is be there to show support for Rocky.”
The insider adds, “Although this is a stressful time, she’s been strong for the whole family and is holding it all together for the sake of her children and for Rocky.”
News broke in August 2022 that Rocky, 35, had been arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department at the airport. According to the LAPD, Rocky (real name Rakim Mayers) had allegedly gotten into an altercation with an “acquaintance” in November 2021 and fired a handgun, which injured the victim. The rapper was released on bail several hours after his arrest.
While Rihanna and A$AP Rocky started as music collaborators, their connection blossomed into something more. A$AP confirmed in a May 2021 interview with GQ that he was dating Rihanna and called her “The One.” One month earlier, a source told Us Weekly that the pair were spotted “holding hands and laughing” during a night out […]
Rocky was later named in a civil suit for charges of assault, battery and emotional distress. A preliminary hearing took place in November 2023, where a judge determined that there is sufficient evidence to hold a trial.
Rocky’s attorneys, meanwhile, denied the accusations on their client’s behalf.

“Defendant generally denies each and every allegation of the complaint and specifically denies that Plaintiff has been damaged in any amount or in any way as a result of any act or omission of answering defendant,” a statement read. “The injuries and/or damages complained of in the complaint, if any, were caused solely, directly and proximately by the negligent and/or intentional acts or omissions of person other than answering defendant.”
Rihanna and ASAP Rocky’s entire world shifted after becoming parents. “It’s everything. You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever,” Rihanna gushed to British Vogue in a February 2023 cover story. “You literally try to remember it — and there are photos of my life before – but the feeling, the desires, […]
Ahead of the trial, Rocky and Rihanna spent the winter holidays with their two sons, RZA and Riot Rose, in Aspen.

“My kids are growing so fast and they’re so smart and exciting,” Rihanna gushed to Extra last month. “They’re amazing. They’re bigger and growing faster than I expected, so by the time I order something and it lands, they can’t fit it — it’s driving me nuts. I’m like, ‘How did I get this all wrong, or are they lying to us on the labels?’”
For someone like Brandi Rhodes, staying healthy is an absolute must.
The former pro wrestler, 40, took Us Weekly exclusively through a day in her life as a wife, mother and entrepreneur.
Rhodes opened up her studio, Naked Mind Yoga + Pilates, earlier this year. When crafting the layout of her business, she kept her priorities as a parent in mind, making sure 2-year-old daughter Liberty, whom she shares with husband Cody Rhodes, always has a place to play.
“She hangs out in the Zen Kids Zone while I get to work,” Brandi explains to Us, adding, “Naked Mind provides childcare for clients and staff so everyone feels comfortable taking care of themselves.”
With Liberty taken care of, Brandi starts her days by teaching a Beginner Reformer class, a favorite among novices and experts. “I love teaching this class because when someone ‘gets it,’ you can see it all over their face,” she says. “It always keeps people coming back striving to learn more.”
Next, it’s a light lunch and a focus on her own well-being. After some time on the reformer, she gains a change in perspective by practicing her headstand alongside the other yoga teachers. “After marketing the studio and nursing clients, it’s nice to turn my mind inward and nourish myself as well,” she tells Us.
Brandi made a name for herself as a television anchor and figure skater before beginning her career in the WWE. She worked as a ring announcer under the name of Eden Stiles until both she and Cody, 38, left the pro wrestling league in 2016. She later starred on the E! reality series WAGS Atlantabefore giving birth to Liberty in 2021.
Now, she’s busy with her studio in Roswell, Georgia, but being a mom to her little one remains her “favorite” part of the day. The mommy-daughter duo’s nightly routine includes a bath and reading bedtime stories.
