  • My Sister Is Going to Europe on Her Honeymoon—I Told Her to Pack These 7 Things

My Sister Is Going to Europe on Her Honeymoon—I Told Her to Pack These 7 Things

    [ad_1]

I may not be engaged yet, but now that my older sister is married, I’m practically living through her. From helping her pick out her wedding dress to attending catering appointments together, I’ve been with her every step of the way. Now that she’s heading off to Italy this summer on her belated honeymoon, I’ve practically made myself a metaphorical third wheel, constantly sending her aesthetic TikTok videos of things she should do and outfits she should wear. As a fashion editor and the world’s most annoying little sister, I take my job quite seriously.

For most newlyweds, a romantic getaway on a far-flung honeymoon is a chance to reconnect with each other in the early stages of married life. While that can be true for fashion people, the second highest priority after relaxing with your new spouse is to pull off some of the best IG-approved ‘fit pics (wedding band in hand, of course). The best honeymoon outfit ideas can be inspired by destination or vibe, but regardless, there are always a few essentials everyone should throw in their carry-on and checked luggage before heading somewhere new—whether it’s a staycation in your home city or an over-water bungalow oasis in the middle of Fiji.

Below, shop all of the must-have honeymoon clothing essentials and browse my favorite travel items. You’ll check out faster on these picks than when you said “I do.”

  • Nearly Every Fashion Girl Is Endorsing This Shoe Silhouette—Count Me One of Them

Nearly Every Fashion Girl Is Endorsing This Shoe Silhouette—Count Me One of Them

    [ad_1]

Only a few seasons ago sky-high platforms heels seemed to dominate every conversation, with Valentino and Versace defining the trend with their massive towering heels. But fashion is fickle and tastes are everchanging—this year we’ve shifted to (almost) the opposite end of the spectrum. 2023 is shaping up to be the year of the kitten heel. Make no mistake stilettos—from boots to revenge pumps ala Saint Laurent—are still getting plenty of play, but it just might be time to revisit easy-on-the-feet heels.

Much of this shift is due in part to the increasing popularity of vintage. Cult items of yesteryear like Marc Jacob’s Stam bag and Gucci’s Horsebit heels are coming back into the fold, and with it a slew of Gen-Z fans eager to get a piece of fashion history. However sourcing these early aughts icons is sometimes easier said than done, and an array of brands have stepped in to meet the demand. Muled sandals are popping up everywhere, from the high street to the runway. Part of its appeal may lie in its versatility and ease: there are no straps to fuss with, no laces to tie, simply slip them on and go. It also helps that its a shoe that really styles well with any outfit. If you too are ready to jump on the train, below I’ve assembled 20+ pairs to get you started.

  • I’m Convinced Everyone Will Be Wearing This “Outdated” Staple This Summer

I’m Convinced Everyone Will Be Wearing This “Outdated” Staple This Summer

    [ad_1]

When I say the words “denim skirt,” your mind probably goes to a classic mini that often features cross-stitching where a pair of jeans would typically split. That description matches the most popular style over the past few years. I can still remember a time when I wouldn’t go more than a few days without wearing my denim mini. The times have changed, and as fashion designers are pushing for longer hemlines, I’m convinced that the sleek maxi aesthetic that ruled the 1990s is going to be the name on everybody’s hips. Fashion people have agreed with them, including the long silhouette in even their casual wardrobes.

This leads to the phenomenon of the longer skirt that I have been seeing all throughout New York City. As temperatures rise, skirt lengths will do the opposite. It’s guaranteed that every It girl will be wearing this come summer. One might call it outdated—having peaked in the early 2000s—but word is out that this staple is back and very much here to stay. With this item being at the top of my list rn, take a look at the below 30 pieces I currently have floating in my shopping cart.

    [ad_1]

At this point, we’re broken records here at Who What Wear but I’m gonna say it again: J.Crew is so good these days. When I think of spring, I think “pretty” and clearly, the J.Crew designers do too because the new spring drop is filled with one pretty piece after another.

Present and accounted for are sequins, trendy colors, and cool prints in the form of pieces that are versatile and easy to style. I took a deep dive into J.Crew’s newest arrivals and chose fifteen stand-out ones that I’m positive will sell out quickly. And how do I know? Well, they look expensive, they’re quite aesthetically pleasing,  they’re trend-forward without being over-the-top trendy, and they’re all easy to dress up or down. • She’s in Shock! 41 New Reformation Finds That Put Me in a Genuine Trance

She’s in Shock! 41 New Reformation Finds That Put Me in a Genuine Trance

    [ad_1]

Given how much time I spend looking through clothes every day for work, I’ve built up a tolerance of sorts to the awe of it all. There was a time in my life when I couldn’t possibly have stared at beautiful things all day everyday without feeling called to indulge. But these days, my shopping guard is strong, and only on rare occasions do I stumble across items that feel really and truly too good to pass up. This is one such case.

You see, Reformation has never really been a brand that feels like me. I always associated it with linen separates and sundresses, and since I’ve never been felt comfortable in that feminine, cottagecore-adjacent aesthetic, I naturally didn’t set aside a ton of attention for the brand. But in recent years, I’ve noticed a hard shift in Reformation’s merchandise. And after scouring its most recent arrivals for spring, I’m throwing my hands up in defeat and admitting that I was wrong about the brand. Finally, I get what all the hype’s about—I’ve been converted.

Scrolling through its spring offering, I had genuine feelings of shock and awe as I grasped just how chic the items I was looking at were, especially given the mid-level price range. But there’s no need to simply take my word for it. From designer-quality footwear to dresses I’d literally get married in, see all 40 of the new Reformation items that altered my brain chemistry during my latest digital perusal.

Mango’s New Arrivals Are Too Good–31 I Think Will Sell Out First

    [ad_1]

Mango’s new arrivals are always on my radar. Not only because they’re consistently on-trend and sophisticated but also because if you don’t catch them quickly, they sell out. The newest drop is a slew of expensive-looking faux leather separates, elegantly-tailored suiting, premium knitwear staples, and twists on classic denim pieces. This installment is guaranteed to be worn by fashion people and influencers alike, hence its potential to fly off the site quickly.

And although you’ll definitely see these on your favorite fashion follows, they’re also very accessibly priced for the quality, trend-forward pieces you’ll find. I’ve taken my editorial expertise to the new arrivals page to pinpoint the pieces you need to snag before they’re gone.

H&M’s Spring Edit Literally Just Dropped—25 Items Guaranteed to Sell Out

    [ad_1]

H&M has burned me more than any other retailer. Too often when I’ve hesitated before purchasing a piece from the brand, it has sold out. The style and the price point combine to create a perfect storm that consistently leads to sellouts. This, while good for the brand, is a bummer for anyone on the other side of the interaction. Because of this, I’ve tweaked my plan of action when shopping on the site, which basically means that I don’t hesitate when I find something really good—I act.

When I checked H&M‘s homepage yesterday afternoon and saw that its spring edit had dropped, I immediately began scouring every last page of new arrivals. After shopping a bit for myself, I couldn’t possibly go on with my week without sharing the news before its best pieces sold out. Without further ado, scroll down to find my picks from H&M’s spring arrivals.

Introducing the Single Most Dominant Color Trend From Fashion Month So Far

    [ad_1]

Given the sheer quantity of trends that come out of any given runway season, standout colors can oftentimes fail to garner the attention they deserve, being deprioritized in reports because of barely there miniskirts, motorcycle tropes, and voluminous silhouettes. But not this season. After a ubiquitous presence at New York and London Fashion Week, no one can deny that red—specifically a vibrant, chili-pepper red—is one of if not *the* standout trend of fashion month thus far, surpassing even the most shocking garments that’ve come down the runway.

The list of brands that have included at least one bright-red look is endless, with inclusions ranging from Tory Burch and David Koma to Sandy Liang and Proenza Schouler. And it hasn’t only found a place on the runways. On the streets outside of shows, attendees in both London and New York have styled the shade to their hearts’ content in the form of handbags, hair accessories, eyewear, ready-to-wear, and more. Below, see every way that chili-pepper red has infiltrated fashion month, from the catwalk to the sidewalk.

16 Sneakers We Wear With Jeans, Dresses, and Leggings

    [ad_1]

As fashion editors who appreciate comfort and find ourselves in need of more casual clothing and footwear than ever before (since we’re spending far less time in an office these days), we really value a great pair of sneakers. And equally as important as comfort is that they’re stylish and can be worn with basically anything.

By anything, we specifically mean jeans, dresses, and sneakers—aka the most common things to wear with sneakers, but not every pair of sneakers look good with all three of those items. Some are a bit too sporty, some a bit too dressy, and so on. But we’ve found highly adaptable sneakers that make anything they’re paired with look that much cooler.

Below, you’ll find 16 pairs of sneakers our editors routinely swear by, along with some of our favorite new styles for spring that we’ve yet to try (but would certainly like to).

  • 24 Pairs of Chunky Sandals That Will Sell Out by March

24 Pairs of Chunky Sandals That Will Sell Out by March

    [ad_1]

    Photo:

    @kristengracelam

There were a handful of sandal trends that dominated our feeds last spring and summer, from tricky-toe straps to the bedazzled heels we saw grace the feet of just about every fashion person. As we approach open-toe season once again, there’s another cool-girl style to keep on your radar, one that’s been trending for the last couple of years and shows no signs of slowing down: chunky-sole sandals. These lean more into the “ugly” footwear category and are arguably more comfortable than their stiletto-heeled counterparts—something that anyone who isn’t particularly fond of towering heels can appreciate.

Sandal season may seem like a distant dream for some of us. It’s currently snowing outside of my NYC apartment as I type this, but the fact is that spring will be here again before we know it. I like to get my seasonal shopping done ahead of time, so I went ahead and rounded up the 24 best pairs of chunky-sole sandals that are guaranteed to sell out by March. Shopbop’s Inclusive Size Section Is My Personal Shopping Paradise: 30 Finds

    [ad_1]

I’ll let you in on a little secret: Shopbop may have some of the best plus-size clothing I’ve seen in a while. As a shopping editor, my job consists of trying and buying clothing I spend looking at for hours every day—some of which may not fit me the way I want them to. As a plus-size fashion lover, finding fun, out-of-the-box statement pieces can be challenging, but after spending 4 hours scrolling through Shopbop’s inclusive size section, I’ve added more things to my cart than I care to admit.

While the online retailer’s focus is straight sizes, mid-size and plus-size fashion people won’t walk away empty-handed. For every delicate knit sweater or cute midi dress that’s available in a straight size, you can find an equally comparable garment in Shopbop‘s inclusive size tab. While the number of garments available on other retailers can vastly outweigh what’s available on Shopbop, the trend-focused online platform’s offerings veer more on the high-end side, providing a unique price point and perspective on plus-size fashion. Although I’m sure more and more designers will add larger sizes to Shopbop in time (finger’s crossed!), the current roster with pieces going up to 4XL isn’t anything to scoff at.

Below are some of Shopbop’s best plus-size clothing and inclusive finds you need to add to your cart RN before they sell out. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

6 Controversial Shoe Trends Fashion People Will Be Wearing in 2023

    [ad_1]

We’re no strangers to controversial shoe trends here at Who What Wear. The start of every season brings a new rotation of somewhat questionable footwear into our closet— especially when transitioning from the winter to the spring. Rising temperatures mean more chances to show off our post-snow pedicures with a chic pair of sandals, or alternatively, a new pair of shoes meant for stomping around the city now that blue skies are no longer a rarity.

While spring trends and must-have jackets are being shuffled back into our closets after liberation, most spring 2023 shoe trends are new to us—especially the ones that have caused a stir on the internet in the past. Now that we know nostalgia reigns supreme in the trend cycle, it’s no surprise to find the fashion crowd digging up old silhouettes from their donate piles only to style them in a newer way that feels fresh. (Jelly sandals, we’re looking at you.)

Below are all of the controversial shoe trends fashion people can’t seem to put down as we enter the warmer months. If you’re looking to get ahead of the trends before they sell out, scroll on through.

This Is How Fashion Girls Will Be Wearing Denim in 2023, Period

    [ad_1]

These days, it seems like denim washes, fits, and rises cycle through periods of popularity every week rather than a decade. (Remember actual trend cycles? Me neither.) Because of that, reporting on such changes in the jeans space can, at times, feel repetitive. I’m not going to do that. Instead, I’ve chosen to focus my time and energy on the ways that chic people are wearing their jeans as opposed to the types of jeans they’re wearing. And in 2023, there’s one particular styling method that’s taking the fashion world by storm.

Canadian tuxedos aren’t exactly new, but then again, what is? Like everything else in fashion, the trend of wearing denim with denim has a tendency to return to the sartorial zeitgeist every few years, always with a fresh, modern look that makes us remember why we loved it so much the last time it was cool. And by the looks of my Instagram feed, 2023 is gearing up to be the latest year afflicted. Ahead, see how fashion girls are doubling up on denim in the early stages of the new year.

These 30 Items Are Already Defining 2023—Take Note

    [ad_1]

We’re but eight days in 2023, and yet the year is already brimming with viral or potentially viral items and trends that are sure to go on to reign throughout the next 357 days. Thanks to platforms like Instagram and TikTok, where content is spit out every second of every day, there’s no need to wait months to determine what’s going to be big for the Q1. We already know it, and yes, Ugg’s ubiquitous new Classic Ultra Mini Platforms play an integral part in the discussion.

But the everywhere-I-look booties aren’t the only items taking over our feeds and in-person reality at this very moment. Rather, 2023 has racked up its fair share of year-defining fashion pieces, from Loewe’s padded leather bomber jacket—which has already been spotted on Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, and Taylor Russell—to Mango’s faux-shearling alt for Totême’s cult-favorite and often sold out jacket. (Mango’s version is equally likely to sell out, so act fast while it’s restocked.) To see and shop them all, keep scrolling.

Wait, I Think These H&M, Nordstrom, and J.Crew Items Will Sell Out by February

    [ad_1]

New year, new arrivals. Many of the stores we turn to on a regular basis for fresh staples dropped new arrivals or restocked favorite pieces this week, including Nordstrom, J.Crew, and H&M. So I thought I’d curate an edit of the items I’m particularly into from each that I think you’ll adore as well.

But here’s the thing. Many of the items have high viewership (you can see how many people are eyeing certain items on Nordstrom and J.Crew, for example) or already have lower stocks. So there’s a chance that many will actually sell out before February even arrives. Basically, if you’re feeling the pieces coming your way, you might want to go for it before they’re gone for the season.

  • Prediction: Everyone Is Going to Dress Like 2010s Off-Duty Models This Year

Prediction: Everyone Is Going to Dress Like 2010s Off-Duty Models This Year

    [ad_1]

I personally lived through the 2010s fashion scene, and there were some things that defined it that stood out both then and now. One thing that is undeniable is that it was a moment of “indie sleaze,” when leather leggings, smudged eyeliner, and indie rock permeated fashion. Interestingly, Celine’s recent runway show at the Wiltern in Los Angeles has reintroduced all of the above (and more) back onto the fashion scene for the coming year. This is just one moment where all signs pointed to the resurgence of 2010s style.

That isn’t where it stops, though. Reflecting on the spring/summer 2023 runways, Lauren Santo Domingo also called out the impact of style from the early 2010s and how it will impact fashion in 2023. “For day-to-day life, I’ll be taking cues from the ‘model off duty’ trend,” Santo Domingo tells Who What Wear. “It’s really about channeling that effortless, easy cool that harkens back to the original days of mass street style in the early ’10s when photographers would lens models making their way between shows in their own casual attire—but with hair and makeup from the show.” While many fashion conversations in the last year have centered around the comeback of Y2K fashion, it turns out the 2010s will be the throwback fashion to have your eye on in 2023. Ahead, see how we’re expecting it to play out this year.
