An Italian Woman Walks Into Nordstrom—31 Chic Sale Picks She’d Be Sure to Shop

    [ad_1]

Imagine a world where you couldn’t stroll into a Nordstrom to shop the popular retailer’s latest chic selection. This is the reality for my stylish European girlies out there. Thank the fashion gods for international shipping. Speaking of Europe, you already know about my affinity for French style, but it’s Italian inspiration that has been creeping more and more into my psyche lately. Sometimes, with my admiration for chic Italian style in mind, I like to play a game—what would a chic Italian woman buy at my favorite online haunts? This time around, I decided to focus on Nordstrom, specifically the store’s epic sale section.

Italians are known for their sleek, sexy take on elevated basics mixed in with edgier leather pieces and other standout options. That said, I kept an eye out for sweaters, denim, dresses, blazers, coats, flats, and boots that would feel right at home in the stylish fall and winter closets of Milan. Keep scrolling to shop 31 chic Nordstrom sale picks that Italian women would swoon over this season.

  • The One Designer Jacket Brand Every Celeb Seems to Own

The One Designer Jacket Brand Every Celeb Seems to Own

    [ad_1]

When it comes to winter jackets, no brand comes to mind quicker than Moncler. The French luxury label—which was actually founded as a quilted-sleeping-bag company back in 1952—is best known for its iconic down puffer jackets. However, its offering includes a wide variety of other outerwear and ready-to-wear staples.

Through its various labels, such as Moncler Grenoble and Moncler Genius, and countless designer collaborations, the brand has transitioned from an après-ski authority to a full-on high-fashion streetwear force. Needless to say, it comes as no surprise that many of today’s most stylish stars just can’t stop wearing it. Dua Lipa, Gigi Hadid, and Kendall Jenner are all big fans, just to name a few.

In the spirit of staying warm and toasty this winter while looking our best sartorially, we looked to our favorite celebs to see how they’re styling the brand. Of course, we also rounded up the 24 best Moncler jackets of the season. Keep scrolling to see which pieces are on our shopping lists.

  • This Lily-Rose Depp–Endorsed Coat Trend Keeps Selling Out From Every Brand

This Lily-Rose Depp–Endorsed Coat Trend Keeps Selling Out From Every Brand

    [ad_1]

Lily-Rose Depp has such an interesting (in a good way) sense of style, so I’m always intrigued by what trends she chooses to wear. She’ll wear a Chanel tweed jacket with gym shorts and look amazing in it. The most recent off-duty outfit she was photographed in while out walking in New York City was a bit more low-key than what she usually wears, but it certainly wasn’t trend-less.

For the brisk fall day, Depp went with a pair of jeans, ballet flats, a shoulder bag, and the coat trend that everyone loses it over: a scarf coat. It can be argued that Toteme is responsible for the current popularity of scarf coats with its wildly popular iteration, but Depp’s scarf coat was a seafoam-green vintage Chanel one from 2001, proving that this isn’t the first rodeo for the coordinating trend. If you’re as into it as everyone else is (Depp included), scroll on to shop some of the best scarf coats on the market right now.

As much as I am a summer person, from the outdoor dining opportunities to the borderline risqué outfit options, nothing gets me more amped up than shopping for coats. After growing up in Chicago, where my wet hair would freeze on my way to school and going anywhere involved at least 10 minutes of bundling on layers come December, I’ve gathered a shocking amount of knowledge about what goes into the perfect outerwear. While I didn’t so much care when I was 15 about looking frumpy in my two pairs of pants and three undercoat layers, I do now.

If you, too, refuse to look like a marshmallow when winter arrives but don’t want to risk turning into an icicle on the first cold day, you’ve come to the right place. Not only will I be doling out buy-worthy outerwear, but I’ve also supplied you with 15 sleek and not-at-all-bulky coat looks to use as inspiration. Don’t worry—you can thank me later. There’s nothing like the thrill of scoring a super-chic fashion find that’s also affordable. In fact, my wardrobe thrives off of such finds. One of my main go-tos for such pieces is Nordstrom. Coat season is officially upon us—and with it comes a slew of fresh trends (or anti-trends) to keep us looking chic and warm this winter. 7 Entire-Paycheck-Worthy It Coats and the More Realistic Alts You’ll Wear a Ton

    [ad_1]

It’s quickly getting colder out there and accordingly, the coats are quickly starting to sell out. I love coat season because you can wear anything (even a sweatsuit) but if you have on a great coat, your outfit will look amazing. The only downside of all of this is that coats aren’t the cheapest of fashion items you can buy. Even among the more affordable brands, outerwear is typically the priciest category.

As you know, “It” items are usually designer, and that’s just the way the fashion world works. But there are so many clothing brands of varying price points to shop that it’s likely you’ll be able to find something of a similar vibe that costs hundreds (or even thousands) less. That’s what I’m here to help with. Keep scrolling for the 7 best designer It coats of the season, alongside a few that are just as chic because like it or not, winter is coming.

I Love The Row, But I’m on a Budget—These Chic Under-$200 Finds Fit the Bill

    [ad_1]

Having run the Olsen twins–dedicated blog Olsens Anonymous for over a decade, I am well-versed in their style evolution. For some years now, both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have been donning outfits almost exclusively with pieces from their own line, The Row. It’s no surprise that the brand has a cult following—the minimal pieces are all painfully chic and can easily be mixed and matched, making for a practical, understated wardrobe. The only issue is The Row is purely aspirational for most due to the hefty price tags on all the pieces.

Thankfully, re-creating the look and vibe of the popular collections can be done in a much more affordable way. While the same luxe fabrics and tailoring may be hard to acquire without the budget, it is easy to find elevated basics and sleek shoes and bags that are in the same vein. Not to mention, we have been graced with nearly identical dupes of some of The Row’s trendiest pieces. Think chic button-down shirts, smart trousers, classic heels, oversize sweaters, luxe-looking shoes, and much more. Keep scrolling to shop 30 pieces inspired by The Row that are under $200.

  • Prediction: Every It Girl Will Be Wearing This One Coat Trend This Fall

Prediction: Every It Girl Will Be Wearing This One Coat Trend This Fall

    [ad_1]

There’s no arguing that there’s so much to be excited about when it comes to fall fashion (ahem, denim skirts and ballet flats). And while there’s an overwhelming amount of great trends that came off the fall/winter 2023 runways, I’d be lying if I didn’t say that the outerwear was where it was at. From leather coats to coats with built-in scarves, there was no shortage of noteworthy trends that are guaranteed to find their way into the fashion sphere this fall. But if I’m being honest, there’s only one style that stole my heart this season: fuzzy collared coats.

I know what you’re thinking: “Furry coats? Girl, how is that exciting?” I’ll admit that fur always makes a minor comeback every fall, but this season, we saw designers embrace all the fuzzy things in a fun way—from shoes to bags, nothing was off limits. Most notably, what made the coats feel fresh was that they focused on long-lapel collars with fur trim, shaggy sleeves, and mixed materials to create intricate details. Every iteration was about using fur trimmings to elevate the coat—see Gucci’s gray wool coat with an oversized fuzzy red lapel or Miu Miu’s corduroy coat adorned with contrasting brown shearling.

It’s not necessarily about dripping in faux fur, though. Instead, it’s about that surprising element where the fur doesn’t overpower the coat but makes it a powerful statement piece. This intricate balance makes this outerwear trend, in my mind, one of the best of the season. But if you’re not sold yet, you’ll want to keep scrolling, as I’ve rounded up examples of the fuzzy fold-over collar trend on the runway, along with examples of how the fashion set is already wearing this trend. Luckily for you, I’ve shopped out some of the best furry coats in case you find you’re overcome with warm and fuzzy feelings for this outerwear trend, too.

Jennifer Lopez Just Wore the Coat Style That Makes Jeans Look Super Fancy

We may not mentally associate Jennifer Lopez with jeans, but she actually wears them quite a lot, from skinny to low-rise to wide-leg to flared. But what you won’t find is Lopez styling jeans with just any old thing. You’ll often see her wearing them with platform shoes, Birkin bags, diamonds… You get the idea.

For her latest outing in denim, J.Lo paired her wide-leg baggy jeans and Gucci platform shoes with a furry coat that’s ideal for dressing up a winter jeans outfit. Faux-fur options abound on the market, as it’s a cozy style that sticks around year after year. It’s an instant outfit when paired with jeans and is an excellent option for dressing them up at night, as Lopez expertly displayed here.

I’m on a Strict Budget—Here Are 16 Ways I’m Making My Old Black Coat Feel New

    [ad_1]

Anyone residing in a cold climate can tell you that the romanticism surrounding colder weather doesn’t last that long. Sure, we all love spending copious hours researching the best coat brands, shopping for cozy sweaters, and finding new ways to style boots, but once those temperatures drop, the rose-colored glasses come off. Frigid temperatures often require one to choose between looking fashionable or, well, freezing. As much as the cool girls like to look good, those colder temperatures aren’t it. Even the most stylish people can fall into a fashion rut during winter because it’s tempting to throw on the coziest possible outfit—even if you wore it days ago.

There’s no shame in being an outfit repeater, as it’s an essential part of building personal style and mitigating the fashion industry’s impact on the planet in the long-term. It still doesn’t negate the fact that no one wants to feel like their staples are stale. Any item can lose its luster during the long stretch of winter, but none can go from beloved to boring as quickly as the black coat. Although this outerwear is a quintessential part of any wardrobe, it can be easy to succumb to the temptation to ditch it in order to buy a trendier coat. But you don’t have to buy a new coat to break free from the winter style blues.

Black coats can feel bold with a bit of creative styling. In an effort to prove that point, I took the liberty of rounding up 16 outfit ideas from women around the world to show how to wear a black coat. Plus, I identified the styling hacks they used to make this outerwear feel trend-forward and shopped out the key pieces you’ll need to re-create the looks for yourself. Whether you’re on a tight shopping budget or want to find a way to make the black coat in the back of your closet feel brand-new, there are solutions ahead for you.

Blanket-Coats: The Outerwear Trend Going Viral on TikTok

    [ad_1]

What started as a micro-trend in the world of outerwear, blanket-coats are now going viral on TikTok, where we’re seeing many fashion conversations unfold. Toteme’s signature scarf-jacket—finished with a fringed scarf, chain-stitch embroidered pockets and edges, and a blanket-like wool material—is specifically the cult buy that is landing everywhere on my feed. Perhaps that is why the piece is sold out practically everywhere and carving itself out as one of the key buys for fall. What’s interesting is that it isn’t a new style this season but one that has been brought back from earlier years, but it is officially in its moment.

While Toteme’s iconic piece is the most talked-about style on TikTok, the blanket-coat trend itself is heating up. Designers such as Balenciaga, Tove, and Helsa have their own takes on the trend, with styles including everything from built-in scarves to fringe and whipstitched trim. Ahead, see more about the blanket-coat trend that’s winning out this season.

I Found the Prettiest Wrap Coats, and I Just Had to Share Them With You

    [ad_1]

Fall is here—even if it doesn’t feel like it outside just yet—and that means that it’s officially about to be coat seasonAnd because I consider myself to be something of a jacket-and-coat expert, I’ve figured out precisely what style I’m into this season: wrap coats.

These types of coats are historically made from thicker fabrics like wool or cashmere, but modern iterations can be made from a puffier material, too. There are even versions that are fashioned from a plush teddy material for added warmth.

Whichever fabrication you choose, it all comes down to the shape. Wrap coats are often less structured in the shoulders, have a looser fit throughout, and feature a belt made from the same material as the rest of the piece that you can just tie in a knot before heading out the door.

In order to help you find your new favorite coat, I’ve taken the liberty of rounding up the best wrap coats below.

I may love fashion, but I don’t love putting together complicated outfits. I get that winter being appealing is probably an unpopular opinion, but think about it. If you have a few cool coats, you can just wear jeans and a sweater every day of the week but still look like you made an effort when wearing a special coat.
