  • 5 Shoe Trends Taylor Swift Always Wears

5 Shoe Trends Taylor Swift Always Wears

    [ad_1]

At 5’11, Taylor Swift already towers above many of us, but despite that, all of her favorite shoe trends are heels. She looks great in heels, so it makes sense. Much to the delight of all the Swifties out there, she’s been out and about a lot this year, with photographers following her every outfit. As an editor who covers lots of celebrity style, I don’t think I’ve missed a Taylor Swift outfit yet this year, and I’ve been looking for themes.

Swift has changed her personal style off and on over the years, but when she’s in an “era”, she really stays true to that aesthetic. I don’t personally know Swift (unfortunately), but I do think that she’s really stayed true to herself this year, and worn what she loves and feels comfortable in. On that note, I’ve noticed that for the most part, she sticks to a handful of shoe trends when she’s out in the world, and I’m here to do my due diligence and talk about them.

With that, scroll on for the five shoe trends Swift wears constantly, and shop the best pairs if she’s inspired you to dress like her.

  • Who What Wear

    Who What Wear

    [ad_1]

I love when I start spotting an outfit formula in the wild, and NYC certainly has one it’s loving this season. From SoHo to Brooklyn to the Upper East Side, the fashion crowd seems to have truly united in this easy winter uniform, present company included, and chic New Yorkers are wearing it on repeat as they brave the cold. If push came to shove, it could effortlessly lend itself to being just polished enough for a casual Friday at the office, cool and low-key enough for a Saturday lunch date followed by a trip to Trader Joe’s, or cozy and comfortable enough for a Sunday morning dog walk to grab a pastry from Raf’s—without breaking a sweat. It’s highly likely you already have many of these pieces on high rotation in your wardrobe, in which case I encourage you to throw them all together and join the gang. If not, feel free to delight in these rather affordable options. Bags are all under $90, denim is under $100, coats (long coats!) are under $140, and that’s only half of it.

I love a beanie, and there seem to be so many good options this season, from elevated knit styles with quiet luxury energy to pom-pommed injections of personality in very chic colorways. Given my tendency to accidentally leave them in the backs of Ubers, I’ve only curated options that are under $50.

Maybe it’s to counter the drab gray of the city in the winter, but I’ve been noticing lots of happy, lemony hues when it comes to knitwear. Slightly oversize styles feel relaxed and double nicely as a chunky scarf or a cozy layer to drape over the shoulders of your coat, as the cool kids are doing.

Never be sorry about investing in a black bag you love and wearing it constantly. These structured shoulder and crossbody bags are making low-key looks feel polished all over town.

Metallic accessories continue to be super buzzy, and as we definitely know by now, flat shoes are truly the moment. A little pop of silver or gold below the ankle is definitely what’s giving these effortless outfits a cool-kid edge.

As much as I know the pendulum will swing back at some point, I’m trying to imagine a world where I go back to wearing something other than wide-leg jeans, and it’s truly a struggle. Whether it’s a dark wash or distressed style, I love the look of relaxed denim and flats under a big, polished coat.

Speaking of polished coats, these just might be the five best value options on the internet right now. The best ones (in my humble opinion) are longline coats that fall below the knee, with a nice little drop to the shoulder for that menswear-inspired vibe.

If Kate Middleton's Vibe Is the Goal, Shop These 30 Elegant J.Crew and H&M Finds

    [ad_1]

When I think of people with elegant style, Kate Middleton instantly pops into my head. Given that she’s a princess and all, it’s to be expected that she’d have the most polished wardrobe on the planet, but it’s a modern kind of elegance that she has. Much of what she wears could quite easily be replicated by non-royalty, which is undoubtedly part of why we’re all so obsessed with what she wears. Not only that, an elegant, “quiet luxury” wardrobe is a major theme in fashion right now, as you know.

If it’s effortless elegance you seek when shopping, a good mantra to keep in mind is, What would Kate Middleton wear? I did just that while scrolling through J.Crew and H&M, and it worked. I found the most elegant pieces that both retailers stock in one fell swoop—everything from outerwear to shoes are present and accounted for. Keep scrolling to add them to your own elegant, Kate Middleton–inspired wardrobe.

25 Reformation and J.Crew Buys I'm Eyeing to Get Amal Clooney's Elevated Look

    [ad_1]

Amal Clooney’s style can be summed up into one word: timeless. You’d think she was royalty with the way that she effortlessly floats into modest attire that is both alluring and elevated. She’s been in my eye for quite a few years, but in recent months, I’ve been enamored with her personal style. I’ve begun to brainstorm my plan for 2024 fashion, and one thing that instantly came to mind is finding a way to dress like her at every opportunity.

That means it’s time to get shopping. Bella Hadid Just Ditched Baggy Jeans For This Skinny-Adjacent Style

    [ad_1]

Bella Hadid is back in NYC after many months away. And as someone whose style is always evolving, it’s to be expected that there’d be some new observations to make about her wardrobe. In keeping with the trends for several seasons now, Hadid had embraced baggier silhouettes before taking some time off away from the public eye. This included her jeans of choice, which were often loose and low-rise. But things have shifted, at least for a day.

While out in the city during the day this week, Hadid wore a pair of jeans that were basically the opposite of her previous loose and low ones. The high-waisted pair she chose weren’t quite skinny jeans, as they weren’t super tight around the ankles, but they could best be described as slim-leg jeans. Slim-leg jeans fall somewhere between straight-leg and skinny jeans on the slimness meter, and they’re a great choice if you prefer something polished, timeless, and versatile.

If you love Hadid’s new jeans, scroll on to shop similar pairs for yourself.

The $160 Uggs I'm Buying to Mimic Kelly Rutherford's Viral Winter Outfits

    [ad_1]

Apparently, I’m not the only one who’s recently become a super fan. “Out of all the original Gossip Girl cast members, I don’t know why I didn’t think to follow Kelly more closely,” Brooklyn-based freelance fashion editor Cortne Bonilla explains over DM. “A few weeks ago, I came across her Instagram profile after one of my favorites brands, By Malene Birger, reposted an ensemble of hers,” she continues. “In the age of mass girlhood, it’s so refreshing to see a woman of a certain age embracing personal style, experimentation, and emerging brands.” For her, it’s Rutherford’s very personal sense of style that drew her in. “Kelly doesn’t dress for a trend or age, she dresses for herself—you can tell by her mixture of the old and the new, the classic and the experimental.”

On her feed, one will find a mix of just-released outerwear from the aforementioned Danish brand that fashion girls regularly obsess over to casual yet luxe knitwear. Most of her looks are colored in a palette of quiet-luxury neutrals, from camel to ivory, with touches of navy, black, and brown for good measure. Every article of clothing is glamorous yet nonchalant, making each of the actress’s outfits more than worth copying.

  • Kendall and Hailey Wore the Classic Sweater Trend Everyone's Buying From J.Crew

Kendall and Hailey Wore the Classic Sweater Trend Everyone's Buying From J.Crew

    [ad_1]

Now that we’re deep into December and have been wearing knitwear for at least a month now, it’s become clear what the emerging sweater trends are. Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber certainly agree on one in particular. That trend is Fair Isle sweaters. Jenner wore the classic après-ski style earlier this week in Aspen, and Bieber wore it upon her return to Los Angeles. Both of them wore Fair Isle sweaters by Khaite, who can largely be credited (along with Celine) for the returning popularity of the style this season.

Multicolored Fair Isle knitwear actually dates back to the early 19th century on an island near Scotland, when it was made for fisherman’s sweaters. Today, brands from low to high-end embrace the design each winter, but it’s become especially ubiquitous this season. One place I’ve come across multiple excellent examples of the trend is J.Crew, where its Fair Isle sweaters keep selling out. (Trust me—I’m on J.Crew.com a lot.) Scroll on to shop those along with Jenner’s and Bieber’s Khaite crew-neck and cardigan.

This Is the Winter Trend Practically Every Celebrity Is Obsessed With

    [ad_1]

This is going to be difficult, but I will refrain from making any Matrix comparisons in this story (oops, does that count?). Celebrities are fully embracing a dramatic, kind of uncomfortable trend this winter, and what it lacks in comfort it makes up for in coolness. Leather clothing—real or faux—has become a favorite trend this season of everyone from Rihanna to Taylor Swift to Kylie Jenner. And I’m not talking about just a basic leather jacket—I’m talking about significant pieces of clothing such as a trench coat or a dress.

A few things that I’ve noticed about the dressed-up trend is that black is the leather color of choice, and it’s usually worn after dark. If you, too, want to make leather clothing part of your wardrobe this winter, scroll on to see how stylish celebrities are styling the trend, and shop leather pieces both genuine and faux.

Leighton Meester Just Proved This Trend Will *Not* Be Expiring in 2024

This time of year, everyone is offering their predictions about 2024 fashion trends. My fellow Who What Wear colleagues, for instance, have weighed in with their own opinions on what will and won’t make it to the New Year. Everything is certainly subjective, but I have a strong feeling that Leighton Meester’s newest look just proved that one trend, in particular, has major staying power: rosettes.

Photographed on the red carpet at a holiday party for Freevee and Amazon Prime, Meester wore Silvia Tcherassi’s Daniela Gown ($1020), complete with a stunning 3-D floral appliqué front and center. We’ve been talking about the rosette trend all year long—remember Zendaya’s rose-festooned dress at the SAG Awards back in February? Meester’s fantastic interpretation of the trend just proved that rosettes will not be expiring in 2024. Scroll down to see her new look and shop the trend for yourself.

Kendall Jenner Wore the #1 Coat Trend for 2024 Twice in One Week

    [ad_1]

Not just once, but twice in a single week, Kendall Jenner has been spotted wearing outerwear with cape-like details. Last week, during a shopping trip in West Hollywood, she wore a leather jacket with an attachable scarf from Phoebe Philo, styled with white jeans, a boxy bag, and kitten heels. Just a few days later, Jenner wore a wrapped leather trench coat that debuted on the Bottega Veneta S/S 24 runway with sheer tights and pumps. Other fashion insiders and celebs, including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, have been spotted wearing the silhouette—solidifying it as a key outerwear trend to know for 2024.

Over the last few years, we have seen the rise of blanket coats with built-in scarves from brands including Toteme and Tove. The more heavily-draped, cape-like versions endorsed by Bottega Veneta and Phoebe Philo are pushing the trend forward and we’re already expecting it to be the #1 coat trend in 2024. Ahead, see how celebs are wearing the cape outerwear trend and shop pieces inspired by them.

To complement the top’s delicate off-the-shoulder silhouette, Madekwe and Lopez opted for a chunky pair of gold earrings, a nod to both of their South London roots, which added the right amount of drama. Finishing touches included Alevì Milano heels and Kallati jewels. For glam, it was important her look didn’t compete with or overshadow the outfit, so Madekwe enlisted the help of her go-to team, makeup artist Jo Baker and hairstylist Coree Moreno. Bronzed skin and a clean eye were punctuated with a vampy lip, while hair was sleek with the added touch of some laid edges and baby hairs.

As I’m sure you’re aware, Sydney Sweeney has been on a media blitz supporting her upcoming film, Anyone But You. She’s been stepping out in several different outfits, each one better than the next. And it seems like her fans are eating it up. For instance, one photo of Sydney we posted on the Who What Wear Instagram page quickly racked up over 23,000 likes. One outfit, however, stuck out to me: Sydney’s ShuShu Tong dress, seen below, which she styled with knee-high socks.

  • Suki Waterhouse Wore Trendy $115 Flats With Glowing Reviews on Amazon

Suki Waterhouse Wore Trendy $115 Flats With Glowing Reviews on Amazon

    [ad_1]

Suki Waterhouse likely has access to any designer shoes she wants, but the fact that she recently opted for a pair of $115 shoes instead makes me think that they must be quite special. With the blazer and black maxi skirt she wore recently, Waterhouse opted to finish her look off with one of the biggest flat shoe trends of the year: Mary Janes.

There are so many Mary Janes on the market to choose from, but not all are created equal. That said, Waterhouse and Amazon shoppers seem to agree that Franco Sarto made an excellent pair, as they have nearly a five-star rating. The Franco Sarto shoes in question are the faux patent leather (another major trend) Tinsley Mary Jane flats, and she went with the black pair.

A little birdie told me that the shoes keep selling out, and I believe them because there’s currently only one color left in stock on Nordstrom (where the reviews are also glowing). The good news is that I found stock on Amazon (where they’re even on sale in certain colors) and elsewhere, so scroll on to order a pair if you’re so inclined. Studies show that they’ll sell out again.

  • Amal Clooney Wore the Date-Night Shoe Trend Everyone Should Own

Amal Clooney Wore the Date-Night Shoe Trend Everyone Should Own

    [ad_1]

No one does date night like George and Amal Clooney—period. On Wednesday night, the couple, who’ve been married since 2014 and spotted together more than usual thanks to George’s press tour for his movie About The Boys in the Boat, were seen leaving Polo Bar in New York City after a dinner date at the Manhattan hot spot. And as they always do, the duo appeared the epitome of style and elegance.

For the occasion, George pulled a George by wearing the same casual jeans-and-chore jacket look that he wore earlier in the day to the NYC premiere of the film, whereas Amal turned things up a few hundred notches, opting for a festive feather minidress, a tuxedo-style blazer embellished with fringe, and the very right-now shoe trend that *everyone* should own: metallic heels. Specifically, she chose a pair of shiny, gold stilettos.

They might not seem it, but metallic shoes are surprisingly versatile. Not only can they be styled à la Amal for a night out, paired with a minidress and blazer, but they can just as easily be dressed down with jeans and a white tee (maybe that same blazer too). No matter what they’re styled with, these shoes become the focal point, making them a perfect finishing touch to any outfit.

    [ad_1]

Stop what you’re doing and pay attention, because #BellaIsBack, and it’s nothing to take lightly. Any loyal Bella Hadid fan will tell you that the supermodel has been steering clear of the public eye for quite some time now, so spotting her in New York City outside of her sister Gigi’s NoHo apartment on Wednesday is kind of a big deal. No, actually, it’s a huge deal. And her impeccable—seriously, no notes—outfit for the occasion only emphasized the moment’s importance.

For the rare sighting, Hadid chose a very ’90s, model-off-duty type of ensemble, opting for a trench coat, black turtleneck, and stretchy, black flared leggings (or, as I like to refer to them, yoga pants). Accessorizing like a pro as always, she added a checker-print tote-style shoulder bag, F/W 99 Prada boots, and DMY by DMY wire-rim sunglasses. The look appeared effortless and therefore is bound to be copied all across TikTok. But honestly, it wasn’t her outfit as a whole that struck me when I first saw photos of it, but just her pants, which I couldn’t help but notice would be utterly perfect for flying

The promotional tour in NYC this week for the new film Anyone But You was a Sydney Sweeney fashion show, start to finish. She and stylist Molly Dickson came up with more than a dozen incredible looks for Sweeney’s press appearances, but it’s her legging outfit to fly from NYC to LAX yesterday that has my attention at the moment.

I always like to see how celebrities style leggings years after they became “trendy”. Sweeney, for one, opted to pair her black leggings for the flight with a designer It item: Prada’s cropped puffer. Prada and Miu Miu puffer jackets are as covetable as puffer jackets get, and if I were to spend over $2k on a puffer, I’d definitely choose one of these. Sweeney completed the trendy travel outfit with a pair of white crew socks and white sneakers.

Bruna Marquezine Is Currently Taking Up Every Spot on My 2024 Mood Board

    [ad_1]

Fans of Hailey Bieber‘s and Kendall Jenner’s style know the impact that stylist Dani Michelle has on the fashion world. Her clients, a list that also includes Nicola Peltz Beckham and Elsa Hosk, are guaranteed muses. And the latest addition, Bruna Marquezine, the Brazilian actress and model who’s currently taking up every spot on my 2024 mood board, is no exception.

“I am enchanted by [her] admiration and devotion to fashion,” Michelle told Elle Brasil of her new client. The duo started working together at the end of the summer, with Michelle’s first post of Marquezine arriving after the 2023 Variety Power of Young Hollywood event in August, for which she dressed the model in a Tory Burch dress and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. “She loves every stage of the art of dressing,” Michelle continued. “This makes our projects inspiring and creatively fulfilling.” Once you see the work they’ve done together since, you’ll understand what she’s talking about.

But while Michelle has no doubt brought about a heap of attention for Marquezine’s outfits since their working relationship began, she certainly didn’t turn the Blue Beetle star into a fashion icon. Marquezine did that all on her own, working with Chopard, Saint Laurent, Prada, and more, not to mention gracing the glossy pages of Marie Claire Brasil and Vogue Brasil.

From off-the-runway Bottega Veneta, Prada, and Ferragamo looks to party-ready ensembles by Alaïa and Defaïence, Marquezine is fast becoming one of fashion’s top names. Scroll down to see some of her chicest looks thus far, and keep an eye out for what’s in store for the model in 2024. My guess?
