  • Brianna Chickenfry Calls Ex-BFF Grace O’Malley ‘Evil’ in Rare Comment

    [ad_1]

There is zero hope for a reconciliation between former best friends Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia and Grace O’Malley.

“We’re not friends. We’ll never be friends again,” LaPaglia, 26, said during the Tuesday, February 17, episode of the “ImPaulsive” podcast. “But there was no beef to begin with and the internet made it so much worse than it was and now it’s so annoying.”

LaPaglia explained that she and O’Malley, 27, “butted heads” over Zach Bryan. LaPaglia dated Bryan, 29, for a year before their October 2024 split, and he didn’t get along with O’Malley — but that wasn’t the only source of their drama.

“There was a whole other s*** going on with her where our ‘Plan Bri’ [podcast] fans were really bullying me and I was like, ‘Grace, will you say something? Will you do something?’” LaPaglia claimed. “And she was like, ‘No, it’s fine. It doesn’t matter.’ It was really hurting me because I was in a really bad relationship.”

According to LaPaglia, fans thought she was a bad friend to O’Malley during her relationship with Bryan. She further claimed that O’Malley “liked” getting “lifted up” by their followers, while LaPaglia felt “weird and uncomfortable” about the whole situation.

“So, I ended the podcast before me and my ex ended anything,” she said.

The final “PlanBri Uncut” podcast episode featuring O’Malley was released in October 2024. LaPaglia has since relaunched the podcast solo. O’Malley then started her own podcast, “Disgraceful,” in February 2025.

“It just snowballed and spiraled. Then she goes on all these podcasts and says that she misses me and wants to be friends, but then behind closed doors in New York, she won’t talk to anyone that talks to me,” LaPaglia claimed of O’Malley. “She ends friendships. She’s evil. It’s very dark and weird. I’ve never said that out loud.”

Us Weekly has reached out to O’Malley for comment.

Grace O’Malley has entered the chat. The Barstool Sports podcast host spoke out after continued questions about her friendship with Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia. “Now that I have your attention: This last year & however many has been quite the whirlwind for Brianna and I’s friendship. Yes. There’s no denying that,” O’Malley, 26, shared via Instagram […]

O’Malley previously addressed the drama between her and LaPaglia in December 2024.

“If you know me, you know I truly hate to be serious about anything ever, but sometimes you have to be,” she shared via social media at the time. “For months, I’ve been radio silent about the status of ‘PlanBri’ and it has killed me to leave you guys hanging. The plan was for me and Bri to put out a joint statement about the end of the podcast.”

The comedian told followers that everything was “weird and unfamiliar” with her at the time.

“[I’m] proud of what we built, nostalgic for all these years and frankly outright heartbroken that this chapter has closed,” she continued. “But, we agreed to make a joint statement, so I replied, cried, and chose not to repost or say anything until it was time.”

As O’Malley went on, she addressed the end of her and LaPaglia’s friendship.

“This last year, I bit my tongue so much that I shouldn’t even have one anymore. I was willing to wait out of respect, but things don’t always work out the way you think they will. In fact they rarely do. I most definitely did not foresee any of this EVER ending,” she wrote. “I don’t think I’ll ever fully get into every aspect of how this came to be, but it should be said that, although this was not a mutual decision, I’m realizing that, in the grand scheme of things, it might actually end up being the right one.”

  • 80s star Belinda Carlisle, 67, reveals wild morning routine that begins at 3.30am

    [ad_1]

Belinda Carlisle has revealed the incredibly early time at which she sets her alarm to wake her up in the morning to meditate and go for a walk. The singer, who soared to fame in the 1980s as part of The Go-Go’s before embarking on a successful solo career, has revealed she decided to embrace a crack-of-dawn wellness routine after being dropped from her record label aged 40 and getting sober.

Speaking to The Times in a new interview, Belinda, now 67, shared: “I get up at 3.30am, make coffee, get back into bed and listen to an audiobook by a Buddhist teacher for 40 minutes.” She continued: “I get up and do my meditation and chanting practice until 6am, when I go for an hour-long walk.”

Belinda, who lives in Mexico City with her husband Morgan Mason, explained the moving reason behind her early rising. “Forty was a big turning point in my life because I was dropped by my record company but I also got into Buddhist chanting,” she told the newspaper. “I struggled personally with a lot of things and chanting changed my perspective on life.”

It was quite the shift for Belinda, who had embarked on her dreams of a music career at just 19 years old. She then became the lead singer of The Go-Go’s in 1978, and their debut album went straight to number one in the US.

Belinda – who has a 33-year-old son called James – then pursued a solo career from 1985, with hits including the song ‘Heaven Is A Place On Earth’. However, in 1998, she was dropped from her record label.

    Challenging time

The star has previously spoken about how challenging a time that had been for her, following her struggles with alcohol and cocaine addiction. “I was dropped the day after I turned 40,” she told The i Paper in 2023. “For the first time [in my career] I had no record company.”

Belinda has said that finding Buddhism helped her stick with sobriety – which has in turn, she believes, has allowed her to rebuild her career and made her a better performer.  “With sobriety, I was more present on stage, and the shows got better,” she explained.

She added that it also helped her overcome the imposter syndrome that had lingered despite her industry accolades. “I was always really afraid to get on stage without some kind of chemical or alcohol,” she admitted. “I didn’t feel like I was deserving of this amazing career, which I call service work. But I don’t feel that way now. I know my lot in life is to be a pop singer.”

Is waking at 3.30am a good idea?

“There’s no universal answer here because we’re not all wired the same way,” says Dr Charlie Cox, a cardiothoracic intensive care consultant and longevity and performance focused-clinician at Reborne. “Your chronotype – whether you’re naturally an early bird or a night owl – is largely genetically determined. It’s a real biological phenotype, not just a preference. Some people genuinely function best in the early hours; others hit their stride later in the day.”

Dr Cox continues: “The crucial variable isn’t what time you wake up – it’s whether you’re getting sufficient quality sleep. Your circadian rhythm is the master clock that governs virtually every physiological process in your body: hormone release, immune function, metabolism, cognitive performance, tissue repair. It’s arguably the single most powerful lever in human health.

“Disrupting it – by chronically under-sleeping or forcing a schedule that fights your biology – has consequences that cascade through every system.” If someone, he adds, is waking at 3.30am but going to bed at 7.30pm and genuinely getting seven to eight hours of restorative sleep, that’s a very different proposition to someone setting an alarm for 3.30am after going to bed at 11pm.

Is the morning a good time for mindfulness practices?

Dr Cox insists: “No amount of meditation or morning routine will offset the damage of chronic sleep restriction. The data on this is unequivocal – short sleep is associated with impaired immune function, increased inflammatory markers, metabolic dysfunction, poor cognitive performance, and increased all-cause mortality. You cannot out-meditate a sleep deficit.”

However, he adds: “That said, if you can restructure your evening to get to bed early enough and still achieve seven to eight hours, there is something genuinely powerful about those early morning hours. Low cortisol, minimal external stimulation, no emails coming in – it’s a window that lends itself well to reflective practices. And the behaviour change itself – the act of committing to a routine and showing up for yourself before the world demands anything of you – has real psychological value beyond the meditation itself.”

Lara continued: “She was a woman who loved a saying and used them often to help us get thru life’s challenges or painful moments. One of her favorite was ‘don’t be sad it’s over honey—be grateful it happened’. Sorry mama but there’s no way to not feel the pain of overwhelming sadness at the thought of not having you to share life with each day, but we sure are grateful YOU happened and showered with your love and warmth and humor.

“It was a truly joyful birthday celebration with all five of her children, a gaggle of grandkids, and now 3 great grandkids who will one day will look at these pictures and see that twinkle in her eye and know how much she loves them.”

  • Jill Scott Said ‘To Whom It May Concern’ — & Baby, It Concerned US

    [ad_1]

Black History Month already comes with its own rhythm, soul, and ancestral bassline but this year, Jill Scott decided to slide us a gift that sparked “conversation, verbal elation and stimulation” After more than a decade away from the album game, Ms. Jilly from Philly is back with To Whom This May Concern, a 19-track body of work that dropped Friday, February 13, and yes, it was worth the wait.

The album is a rich blend of soul, R&B, hip hop, and spoken word, basically a sonic gumbo that only Jill Scott could stir without spilling a drop. She also tapped a lineup that bridges generations and vibes, including Tierra Whack, Too $hort, and JID. This album ain’t boxed in. It’s grown, playful, reflective, and knows exactly who it’s talking to.

AS for her fans? Oh, they showed up immediately. Over on Threads, the praise poured in heavy. Journalist @thedanielleyoung wrote, “I love that you can tell when Jill Scott is smiling when she is singing.”

And that’s straight facts. If you’ve been rocking with Jill since Who Is Jill Scott?, you know exactly when she’s smiling mid-lyric. Her expressions don’t just stay on her face; they live in the music. Another listener, @kristen.gray, summed it up perfectly: “Being in your 30s experiencing a Jill Scott album rollout is a gift. It’s sexy, spiritual, so beautiful to witness.” No lies detected.

Scott explained that even the title, To Whom This May Concern came to her like a sigh of relief — a quiet exhale that signaled the album would land exactly where it needed to. It’s for who it’s for. And she hopes listeners walk away fed, sustained, and maybe even healed.

In a sit-down with Billboard, Scott opened up about why it took her more than ten years to release a new project. She made it clear: “it wasn’t a creative block, it was a creative break.” Life had to be lived. From navigating premenopause to raising a teenager, she chose to prioritize being human before being an artist. As she put it, Jill Scott doesn’t live in her house. Nobody calls her that at home. That separation is what allows her to refill herself so she can pour back into the music when the time is right.

“It’s the energy that follows me around the house: in the shower, when I’m cleaning, making a bed. But I needed to take a break from that so that I could live life. I am, you know, a human being. So of course, there’s all kinds of stuff like perimenopause. That’s interesting. I have a teenager now; that’s different than ever before.”

And for the fans who’ve been begging the universe (and NPR) for years? Your prayers have been answered. Jill Scott is officially pulling up to Tiny Desk Concerts, premiering Monday, January 16th. Black History Month blessings, indeed.

To Whom This May Concern is now streaming on all platforms. Press play, light a candle or anything else of your choice, pour some wine, and let Jill do what Jill does best: remind us who we are.

  • Stranger Things’ David Harbour With Mystery Woman as Maya Hawke Weds

    [ad_1]

David Harbour was spotted taking a stroll with a mystery woman over the weekend, while his Stranger Things costars attended Maya Hawke’s wedding.

Hawke, 27, wed singer-songwriter Christian Lee Hutson in New York City on Saturday, February 14, and celebrated the occasion with some of the stars of the hit Netflix show, including Sadie Sink, Finn Wolfhard and Gaten Matarazzo. Other stars who attended include Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer and Joe Keery.

Harbour, 50, was spotted enjoying a crisp daytime walk in New York over Valentine’s weekend with a companion, per photos published by TMZ. In the pictures, Harbour is seen wearing a green-colored peacoat and baseball cap, while the mystery woman is seen covering her red hair with a black baseball cap and sporting a long black coat.

The actor was previously married to British singer Lily Allen. The couple tied the knot in Las Vegas in September 2020 in a ceremony officiated by an Elvis Presley impersonator. They reportedly split in late 2024, with Allen, 40, alluding to Harbour being unfaithful on her latest album, West End Girl, released in October 2025.

Described as “an enchanting, 22-foot-wide late-19th-century brownstone reimagined across four levels, blending traditional English charm with modern Brooklyn sensibilities and rich Italian influence,” the couple showed off their Brooklyn brownstone in the pages of Architectural Digest in February 2023.

The property was originally listed for nearly $8 million in October 2025.

Hawke and Hutson were first linked in 2023, though the couple never officially announced their engagement.

“I cannot recommend highly enough dating your friends. It’s the best,” Hawke said of her romance during an appearance on a 2024 episode of The Zach Sang Show. “They know you, and as a human being who has dated other people. They really know you as a person who has feelings … not just a piece of paper for them to project their image of [the] perfect girlfriend onto. It’s the best to feel seen in that way.”

Eva Mendes set hearts racing when she posted a series of intimate black-and-white photos dedicated to her partner, Ryan Gosling.

The Hitch star took to Instagram with the simple caption: “For my Valentines”  alongside a sultry set of shots.

In the photos, Eva lounges on a bed in an oversized graphic T-shirt, its shadowy print and relaxed fit giving the images an effortlessly sultry vibe.

Fans quickly flooded the comments with heart-eyed emojis and declarations of admiration, praising the star’s natural beauty and her evocative eye for composition. “LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS! Your constant support for your man is so beautiful,” wrote one fan.

The former actress has long been famously private about her family life, rarely making public appearances with Ryan, and keeping their two daughters completely out of the public eye.

The doting mom has been in a relationship with the Barbie actor since 2012, after meeting on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines, and they share two daughters, Esmeralda, 11, and Amada, nine.

  • ‘Body On Me’ Blueprint: Nelly & Ashanti Get Candid On Their Valentine’s Day Romance Strategy

    [ad_1]

When it comes to long-term love in the spotlight, few stories are as captivating as Nelly and Ashanti. The hip-hop and R&B power couple has spent over two decades in the public eye, navigating a journey that has taken them from early 2000s icons to a modern-day blueprint for “spinning the block.” This week, as Valentine’s Day excitement swept through the industry, the couple shared a spicy secret for keeping the spark alive.

    Source: Christopher Polk / Getty

Catching up with the pair on the red carpet of the star-studded Fanatics Super Bowl party in San Francisco, a photographer asked the most pressing question of the evening: “What’s the secret to a great Valentine’s for you two?”

While most celebrity couples might offer a safe answer about candlelit dinners or thoughtful jewelry, Nelly and Ashanti weren’t interested in being politically correct. With a mischievous grin, Ashanti blurted out the truth: “The bedroom!” Her husband didn’t skip a beat, giving a telling stare and an affirming pat on the butt that confirmed they are very much on the same page.

The candidness of Nelly and Ashanti is a testament to the deep comfort they’ve found in their second chapter. As previously reported, their legendary love story began in 2003 when they first met at a Grammy Awards press conference. Ashanti famously recalled that Nelly asked for her autograph as a joke, and while it took him a long time to actually get her phone number, they eventually became one of the most beloved couples of the era.

After a decade together, the two surprisingly split in 2013 and spent nearly ten years apart. However, the pull of their connection proved too strong to ignore. By late 2023, the world was thrilled to see them reunite, and they moved with a new sense of urgency, quietly marrying in December 2023. Since then, they have welcomed their first child together and launched their Peacock reality series, Nelly & Ashanti: We Belong Together, which premiered in June 2025.

Their advice for Valentine’s Day, to prioritize intimacy and physical connection, might be simple, but it clearly works for the Haynes family.

  • ‘I Thought This Was America’: Don Lemon Pleads Not Guilty Following MN Church Indictment, Demands Grand Jury Transparency

    [ad_1]

The legal battle surrounding Don Lemon‘s indictment reached a critical turning point on Friday, as the former CNN journalist officially entered a plea of not guilty. During the arraignment in St. Paul, Minnesota, Lemon and his legal team took a defiant stand against his indictment, arguing that the federal charges are a political attempt to criminalize independent journalism. The case stems from a January 18 anti-ICE protest at Cities Church, an event Lemon insists he was attending solely as a reporter to document.

    Source: Stephen Maturen / Getty

According to new legal documents obtained by TMZ, Lemon’s defense team is now demanding access to the confidential transcripts of the grand jury proceedings that led to Don Lemon’s indictment. They believe the government likely misrepresented key issues to the jury, particularly since two separate judges had previously reviewed the case and rejected the DOJ’s initial requests for arrest warrants due to a lack of evidence. Lemon has compared the federal government’s persistence to the tactics of authoritarian regimes, stating in the filings that the government “sold this unconstitutional mess” to the grand jury in a manner more consistent with Russia, China, or Iran than the United States.

The charges against Lemon and eight co-defendants involve conspiracy to violate constitutional rights and a felony violation of the FACE Act, which protects places of worship from physical obstruction. Federal prosecutors allege that Lemon was not just a bystander but a collaborator who helped maintain operational secrecy during a coordinated takeover of the church. However, Don Lemon’s indictment has faced heavy scrutiny from press freedom groups, who argue that holding doors or interviewing congregants does not constitute a physical obstruction. Outside the courthouse on Friday, dozens of protesters gathered to chant “Protect the press,” echoing Lemon’s sentiment that his 30-year career has always been anchored in the First Amendment.

The aggressive nature of the arrest has also become a focal point of the defense, with Lemon revealing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that federal agents ignored his offer to turn himself in. Instead, nearly a dozen agents intercepted him in a Beverly Hills hotel lobby on January 29, an act Lemon describes as “revenge theater” designed to intimidate the media. While Magistrate Judge Douglas L. Micko has allowed Lemon to remain free on bond, the government still holds his phone, claiming it remains under a sealed search warrant. As the proceedings move forward, the legal community is watching closely to see if Don Lemon’s indictment will serve as a precedent-setting test of whether a journalist’s presence at a protest can be reframed as criminal conspiracy.

Furthermore, the seizure of Lemon’s cellular device has introduced a chilling precedent for reporters nationwide, as his legal team argues that the government’s continued possession of the phone constitutes a “back-door search” of 30 years’ worth of confidential sources and investigative notes. Defense attorneys have expressed grave concerns that federal agents are sifting through unrelated sensitive materials under the guise of the January 18 investigation, effectively turning the criminal process into an act of institutional surveillance. By holding his primary tool of trade, the government is not just targeting one individual but is signaling to all independent journalists that documenting state-related protests carries the risk of total professional risk.

  • Gwyneth Paltrow’s Daughter Apple Reveals the ‘1 Time’ She Had Lip Filler

    [ad_1]

Gwyneth Paltrow‘s daughter, Apple Martin, is opening up about her one and only time getting lip filler.

“Time to come clean — I got lip filler one time,” Apple, 21, shared via her “Stressed Out College Student” beauty routine video for Vogue posted on Thursday, February 12. “I just thought it was too big, but everyone seems to think I have crazy lip filler.”

The British model continued of the ongoing speculation, “I just pout my lips a lot and I put on a lot of lip filler.”

Paltrow shares Apple with her ex-husband and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. The pair welcomed Apple and son Moses Martin, 19, before announcing their “conscious uncoupling” in 2014 following 13 years of marriage. Paltrow and Chris officially divorced in 2016, always keeping their coparenting relationship top of mind as they moved forward individually.

Related: Apple Martin Is Mom Gwyneth Paltrow’s Twin During Solo Hamptons Stroll

Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter, Apple Martin, could easily be a doppelgänger for her famous mother, if you ask Us. Apple, 21, was spotted walking her dog in the Hamptons on Thursday, July 3, dressed casually in a white sweater, navy shorts and matching Mary Jane slip-ons. For glam, Apple tied her tresses in an updo and […]

“In a way, my relationship with Chris is better. So, I do think that it can be done,” Paltrow told Drew Barrymore in 2020 of life post-divorce and finding a way to amicably coparent with an ex. “I really wanted my kids to not be traumatized if it were possible. Chris and I committed to putting them first, and that’s harder than it looks.”

As the daughter of a famous actress and successful rockstar, Apple is no stranger to the limelight. In September 2025, she secured her first major fashion deal with London-based fashion house Self-Portrait.

The brand announced that Apple was their new “Miss Self-Portrait” via Instagram at the time. In the social media reel, Apple wore a white T-shirt with a black collar and the message “Self-Portrait” written across her chest.

“Can’t tell if this hairstyle is working, but it is me. Miss Apple Blythe Alison Martin coming to you from the floor in a gorg Self-Portrait baby tee,” she said.

Apple then leaned toward the camera to show her “cute ass earrings,” which featured a bow stud with a pearl dropping from the design. “I’m so excited to be the new Miss Self-Portrait and for the campaign to come out!” she gushed.

Apple also posed for fierce mirror selfies with “self-portrait” written across the screen in other photos shared to Instagram welcoming her to the brand. She donned soft makeup, including winged eyeliner, filled-in eyebrows and pink, glossy lips that showcased her plump pout. She changed into a white halter top in one snap, and rocked a white baby tee with a red graphic and matching shorts in another pic.

Paltrow, for her part, has been open about her own beauty routine over the years, saying in a November 2024 interview with Stylist that she’s “not the type to look in the mirror and study my looks.”

“I know it’s a cliche, but I really do subscribe to the ‘age gracefully’ thing,” she said at the time. “You can fight it to a degree, but I accept the beauty of being a grown woman and the wisdom that comes with it. There’s nothing fun about benign at that young age where you don’t know yourself and you’re struggling so much to accept yourself.”

  • Prayers Up! Wiz Khalifa Mourns The Death Of His Father With Emotional Tribute

    [ad_1]

Wiz Khalifa mourned the tragic news of his father, Laurence W. Thomaz, with a touching memorial and revelation about their last moments together.

    Source: Amy Sussman / Getty

On Friday, Feb. 13, the rapper took to social media with the announcement. The zen star must get his famously chill attitude from his dad, whom he described as a “true yogi.”

“Today my father decided not to wake up. I will always love him, miss him and be grateful for the things he taught me,” Wiz wrote about the U.S. Air Force Veteran on X, formerly Twitter.

“He went out like a true yogi, at peace and on his own time. I love you forever Laurence W. Thomaz,” he continued.

In a follow-up post, Wiz thanked fans for their outpouring of support and loving messages during this difficult time.

“Thank you all for your kind words. It really means a lot in this tough time and is helping me feel better,” he added.

On Instagram stories, the Taylor Gang Captain continued the heartfelt tribute with throwback photos of little Wiz with his father and the caption, “Love you big guy.”

According to AllHipHop, the Khalifa Kush creator credited his dad for his growth, success, and inspiration to be an “awesome dad.”

Wiz shares a 12-year-old son, Sebastian, with ex-wife Amber Rose. In 2024, he welcomed his first child, Kaydence, with girlfriend Aimee Aguilar.

The platinum-selling star revealed some details of the last time he spoke to his father. They were celebrating Wiz’s recent acting role in Moses The Black, a crime drama starring Omar Epps and Chukwudi Iwuji as the titular character.

“The last conversation i had with my dad was him telling me how proud of me he was for the movie i was in and I promised him i would do more. LT Forever,” he posted on X.

Of course, his dad was proud! Wiz not only plays in his first starring role as the volatile hard-body street captain 2wo-3ree, but also executive-produced through Taylor Gang Films and curated the star-studded soundtrack. The action-packed independent film is based on a real-life story of repentance by a fifth-century saint by the same name, but it weaves through the modern-day streets of Chicago for a compelling story of redemption.

At least Wiz’s father got to see another dream become reality, with Moses The Black in theaters nationwide since Jan. 30.

Our condolences go out to Wiz Khalifa and his family.

  • ‘Dawson’s Creek’ actor James Van Der Beek dead at 48

    [ad_1]

Actor James Van Der Beek, best known for his role on TV’s “Dawson’s Creek,” has died at age 48.

Van Der Beek, who played Dawson Leery in the 90s teen drama, announced a colorectal cancer diagnosis in 2023. Van Der Beek also starred in the films “Varsity Blues and “Texas Rangers.”

“Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning,” a post on the actor’s wife’s Instagram account said. “He met his final days with courage, faith, and grace. There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity and the sacredness of time. Those days will come. For now we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend.”

NBCLA has reached out to his publicist for comment.

He is survived by his wife Kimberly and their six children Olivia, Joshua, Annabel, Emilia, Gwendolyn, and Jeremiah.

Van Der Beek had announced that he was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer in 2023 at the age of 46.

“I’m just on the journey,” he told TODAY of his cancer battle in July 2025. “It’s a process. It’ll probably be a process for the rest of my life.”

After his diagnosis, Van Der Beek became committed to spreading awareness about the importance of early screenings and detection as colorectal cancer rates are skyrocketing in young adults.

“I ate as well as I could. I was healthy. I was in amazing cardiovascular shape,” he said. “There was no reason in my mind that I should have gotten a positive diagnosis.”

In September 2025 Van Der Beek was scheduled to reunite with “Dawson’s Creek” cast members Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, Michelle Williams and others for a live reading of the show’s pilot episode in a one-night only charity event.

“We wanted to gather around our dear friend James and remind him that we are all here. We always have been and we always will be,” Williams said at the time. “And I know the fans of ‘Dawson’s Creek’ feel the same way.”

Van Der Beek — the titular character of “Dawson’s Creek,” which aired from 1998 to 2003 on The WB — was forced to cancel his appearance due to illness.

“So, you can imagine how gutted I was when two stomach viruses conspired to knock me out of commission and keep me grounded at the worst possible moment,” Van Der Beek said in a social media post the day before the event.

“I won’t get to be there. I won’t get to stand on that stage and thank every soul in the theater for showing up for me, and against cancer, when I needed it most,” the post reads.

James Van Der Beek is shedding new light on how he is feeling emotionally amid his battle with colorectal cancer. During an interview with “TODAY” on Friday from his Texas ranch, the actor reacted to concerns over his appearance which arose after he was unable to attend a “Dawson’s Creek” reunion on Broadway in September due to a stomach virus.

Van Der Beek surprised fans at the event with a pre-recorded video appearance.

“I can’t believe I’m not there,” he said in the video played at the Richard Rodgers Theater in New York City. “I can’t believe I don’t get to see my castmates, my beautiful cast, in person. I wanted to stand on this stage and thank every single person in this theater for being here tonight.”

Van Der Beek’s wife and children were in attendance, joining the stars on stage to sing the show’s theme song, “I Don’t Want to Wait.”

“This night was so special for the whole family and, more importantly, just feeling my husband fill the entire theater and the love for him,” Kimberly Van Der Beek wrote on her Instagram story after the event.

James Van Der Beek was born on March 8, 1977 in Cheshire, Connecticut. He became interested in theater in middle school and went on to make his off-Broadway debut in the play “Finding the Sun” in 1993 at 16 years old.

He made his first television appearance on a 1993 episode of Nickelodeon’s “Clarissa Explains It All” and, in 1995, appeared in three episodes of the CBS soap opera “As the World Turns.”

In 1997, he landed the role of Dawson Leery in “Dawson’s Creek,” a coming-of-age drama centered around a group of teenage friends in the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts. The show debuted Jan. 20, 1998 and ran for six seasons and 128 episodes, becoming an international success and turning a main cast of unknowns into stars.

Van Der Beek went on to find success on the big screen. He starred in the teen football drama “Varsity Blues” in 1999, taking home the MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Male Performance.

He followed with appearances in “Texas Rangers,” “Scary Movie,” “Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back” and many others through 2020.

He continued working after his cancer diagnosis, starring in the series, “Elle,” about the high school years of the “Legally Blonde” character.

“The greatest thing about work is a cancer doesn’t exist between action and cut,” Van Der Beek said in 2025. “It was fun to drop in and just have a blast because it’s such a great cast, a great production, and everybody out there is really talented.”

  • Unbothered Obamas Ignore Trump’s Trolling As Kamala Harris & Hakeem Jeffries Accuse White House Of ‘Cover-Up’ Over Racist Ape Video

    [ad_1]

Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama broke their public silence for the first time since President Donald Trump faced backlash for sharing a racist, AI-generated video depicting them as apes. Yet, they made no reference to the controversy.

    Source: Anadolu / Getty

According to Newsweek, the Obamas instead used their social media platforms Friday evening to express support for U.S. athletes competing in the Winter Olympics and Paralympics, choosing not to engage with the uproar surrounding the since-deleted video. Their decision came just hours after Trump removed the clip from his Truth Social account and later defended the post without offering an apology.

Barack Obama congratulated Team USA in a post on X, writing that he and Michelle were proud of the athletes’ “talent and perseverance” and would be cheering them on. Michelle Obama echoed that message, calling the athletes’ journeys to the world stage “inspiring” as they competed in Italy. The omission was striking given that the video backlash dominated political conversation throughout the week.

While the Obamas stayed silent, Democratic leaders escalated their criticism, accusing the White House of attempting to shield the president from accountability.

Harris: ‘No One Believes This Cover-Up’

Former Vice President Kamala Harris directly challenged the White House’s explanation, accusing the administration of a cover-up after officials blamed a staffer for posting the video.

According to The Hill, Harris wrote on X that “no one believes this cover-up from the White House, especially since they originally defended the post,” adding that the incident only reinforced what the public already knows about Trump’s beliefs.

The White House previously told The Hill that a staffer had “erroneously made the post,” a claim that followed initial public defense of the video by press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who described it as an “internet meme” related to The Lion King.

The explanation did little to quiet criticism.

Jeffries Calls Video ‘Intentional,’ Urges GOP Leaders to Act

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries went further, arguing that the video was posted deliberately and demanding that Republican leadership denounce the president.

In an Instagram post and accompanying video cited by The Hill, Jeffries called on Senate Majority Leader John Thune and House Speaker Mike Johnson to take a stand, warning that continued silence amounted to complicity.

“This disgusting video, posted by the so-called president, was done intentionally,” Jeffries said, adding, “F— Donald Trump and his vile, racist, and malignant behavior.” He praised the Obamas as “brilliant, caring and patriotic Americans” while labeling Trump a “serial fraudster.”

Jeffries also condemned Republican lawmakers who continued to support Trump, writing that “every Republican sycophant who continues to stand by their cult leader should be run out of office.”

    Bipartisan Condemnation and Trump’s Defense

Despite Jeffries’ accusations, some Republicans joined Democrats in condemning the video. Senator Tim Scott, the only Black Republican in the Senate and a close Trump ally, described the depiction of the Obamas as “the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House” and called for its removal. The post was scrubbed from Truth Social roughly two hours later.

Trump later confirmed aboard Air Force One that he spoke with Scott, claiming he had only seen the beginning of the video and thought “it was fine.” He said he “of course” condemned the offensive imagery but insisted he did not make a mistake in having the video posted.

Other Republicans, including Representatives Mike Lawler and Brian Fitzpatrick, as well as Senators Susan Collins and Roger Wicker, also raised concerns.

    Silence as Strategy

As criticism mounted, the Obamas’ refusal to engage became a statement of its own. Journalist Ahmed Hussein observed on X that rather than being “dragged into Trump’s provocation,” Obama “chose dignity over distraction,” redirecting the moment toward unity and leadership.

What remains unresolved is whether the staffer blamed for posting the video will face any disciplinary action. For now, the administration has offered no further clarification.

    [ad_1]

On February 8, 2026, the Seattle Seahawks will face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. However, before either team raises any trophy, Brandi Carlile is set to grace the stage with a performance of the national anthem, “America the Beautiful” alongside Julian Ortiz.

“That is a song that I can fully put every piece of my weight behind, every piece of my heart and soul I can put inside the lyric of America the Beautiful and mean it. And if I couldn’t, I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t have sung it,” Brandi shared on The SoCal Sound on SCSN with Nic Harcourt.

She continued: “And to me, on some level, that is my national anthem because it upholds and embraces the idea of America and what America is supposed to be for everyone. And a belief that it can still happen and it’s not dominant and it’s not militaristic and it’s not exceptionalism. All I can say is that my prayer for this country is within that song.”

“Number one, when you’re born and raised in this country, it’s like you use the Super Bowl as a barometer to gauge when something’s huge. So, you’re like, oh my God, this thing is so big. It could be the Super Bowl. You know, it is actually the definition of massive.”

However, the pressure is nothing new to Brandi, who already boasts an Oscar nomination, two Emmy wins and a book that reached No. 1 on The New York Times’ bestsellers list under her resumé.

  • Grand Opening, Grand KKKlosing! Kid Rock-Led ‘Rock The Country’ Struggle Music Festival Canceled In SC

    [ad_1]

MAGA’s answer to Bad Bunny, Kid Rock, won’t be hitting the stage in South Carolina, of all places, after his music festival was canceled.

    Source: Anna Moneymaker / Getty

Kid Rock’s “Rock the Country” music festival will not be taking place in Anderson County, South Carolina, after officials there confirmed to The Post & Courier that the two-day concert planned for July 25–26, 2026, at the Anderson Sports and Entertainment Center is now canceled.

County administrator Rusty Burns told the local news outlet that officials were notified the night of February 5 that the festival was no longer happening, but they didn’t receive a clear reason for its cancellation.

“We weren’t told a reason,” Burns said. “It happens in the business. We had a good, two-year run.”

While they weren’t given a reason, it could be due to the mass exit of music acts associated with the festival.

On February 6, Shinedown announced to its fans that it would no longer be a part of the festival due to concerns about division associated with the event.

“SHINEDOWN is everyone’s band,” the group wrote in a statement shared on X. “Our band’s purpose is to unite, not divide. We do not want to participate in something we believe will create further division.”

Shinedown bowing out came after several other artists said nah to the festival, including Morgan Wade, Carter Faith, and Ludacris, after facing intense backlash due to their participation.

Reps for Ludcris claim his involvement was “a mix-up.”

“Lines got crossed, and he wasn’t supposed to be on there,” Ludacris’ rep told Rolling Stone.

Kid Rock, Nelly, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Jelly Roll, and Brooks & Dunn are still on the bill, no surprise there.

Creed was also a part of the festival at one point, and was even featured as an act on the now-canceled Anderson date, but their name has since been removed from the lineup.

The “Rock The Country” tour launched by Rock is billed as an eight-date summer series. While the Anderson date is officially scrubbed, Ocala, Florida; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Hamburg, New York are still happening… for now.

If Kid Rock can’t even entertain Anderson, South Carolina, how in the world do MAGA snowflakes think he’s going to compete with Bad Bunny, who is the most-streamed artist in the entire world?

  • Quinton Aaron’s Family Shares Positive Update After His Spinal Stroke

    [ad_1]

Quinton Aaron’s family have shared a positive update on The Blind Side actor after he was hospitalized after suffering a “spinal stroke.”

Quinton, 41, is feeling optimistic amid his recovery and looking forward to watching the Super Bowl this Sunday, the Aaron family said via a statement shared with Us Weekly on Friday, February 6.

“Quinton is in a jovial mood, now laughing and smiling and is communicating to the best of his ability while he continues to recover,” the statement read. “He’s watching TV and getting ready to root for his favorite team this weekend.”

Previously, the Aaron family confirmed on January 29 that Quinton had been admitted to an Atlanta hospital after suffering a “spinal stroke.” Quinton’s legs had stopped functioning as he was walking up stairs in his apartment, and he had collapsed as a result.

The family said at the time, “We acknowledge that you’ve heard about Quinton Aaron’s condition. We appreciate the overwhelming love, support and prayers that Quinton has received over the past few days from his fans, the public and our concerned community.”

In the statement, the family shared details on the status of the actor’s health at the time.

“He is alert, aware and recovering. The Aaron family has a lot to deal with for the betterment of their loved one, but will be sure to keep everyone posted regarding Quinton’s health as we see fit,” it continued.

The family also noted that factual information regarding Quinton’s health will only be delivered by a “blood relative” via the family’s spokesperson and “lifelong friend” Liana Mendoza, urging the public to ignore misinformation from other sources.

News broke on January 25 that Quinton had been hospitalized. Days later, Quinton’s wife, Margarita Aaron, confirmed to TMZ that the actor was on life support but showing signs of improvement.

A GoFundMe page was set up by the Veterans Aids Network — an organization that Quinton has previously worked with. The page aimed to raise money to help support his family as he recovered from his health woes.

“Quinton is one of the kindest, most genuine people you could ever meet,” the GoFundMe page stated. “He shows up for others. He encourages, uplifts and gives freely of himself, often without asking for anything in return. Today, he needs us to show up for him.”

The page added, “Quinton has spent his life inspiring others, reminding us that compassion and humanity still matter in this world. Now, as he faces one of the hardest battles of his life, let’s surround him and his loved ones with that same compassion, strength and care.”

Quinton is best known for his portrayal of former NFL offensive lineman Michael Oher in The Blind Side. Tim McGraw, Lily Collins and Sandra Bullock also starred in the 2009 film.

The actor also suffered a previous health scare in the last 12 months. In March 2025, he was admitted to a hospital with a fever and a bloody cough.

Quinton suspected he was experiencing Type A flu in addition to pneumonia before his release.

  • Inside Jennifer Garner’s $60m business move away from acting

    [ad_1]

Jennifer Garner just made a major move. The Alias actress, who owns the organic children’s food brand Once Upon A Farm, announced on Friday that the company went public at $18 per share.

Once Upon A Farm is valued at $724 million. “This IPO really begins to cement our legacy as we move forward and try to bring this to life,” Jennifer told Forbes, minutes after her company started trading on the New York Stock Exchange. “To drive systemic improvement in childhood nutrition.”

The company was founded in 2011 by Cassandra Curtis and Ari Raz, with Jennifer joining in 2017 as chief brand officer. The same year, they brought on John Foraker, the longtime CEO of another organic children’s food company, Annie’s.

Soon after, she was given a co-founder title and a seven percent stake in the business. As of 1 pm ET on February 6, 2026, her percent ownership in Once Upon A Farm is worth $60 million.

Throughout its existence, Once Upon A Farm has increased the popularity of organic children’s food. And with Jennifer at the helm, the journey to becoming a publicly traded company looked clearer.

Jennifer is a savvy business woman

“Every room we went into was people who were customers. These are bankers – and not bankers – people are buying it,” Jennifer said. “People are connecting with it. Their families trust what we have built.”

In 2025, Once Upon A Farm made $225 million, up over 40% from the prior year. Its food is sold in some 25,000 stores across the United States, including Target, Whole Foods, Kroger, Walmart, Publix, and Wegmans.

Why did Jennifer Garner join Once Upon A Farm?

Almost a decade ago, Jennifer was a mom to young children – Violet, Fin, and Samuel – and “wanted to be part of solving a problem that I had experienced as a [parent].” With her globally recognizable face and John’s business mind, the company grew exponentially.

“We were a whole new way to think about kids and baby food,” Jennifer explained. “To educate people writ large, you have to be loud. It was, like, how do we handle this? Well, we just hold hands and jump.”

Many celebrities join companies, but few stick with them so closely. Since joining Once Upon A Farm in 2017, Jennifer has remained extremely hands on. She flies around the country attending meetings, talking to grocers, and more.

Parents across America rely on Once Upon A Farm to keep their kids healthy and well fed. And Jennifer is proud of that.

“We are shaping the future of food. We are changing what’s available to parents and they are here for it,” she told Forbes. “We want to be their allies from babies all the way up to big kids.”

  • Kanye West’s Wife Bianca Censori Denies He Makes Her Dress Naked

    [ad_1]

Bianca Censori is setting the record straight on her viral nudity, insisting husband Kanye West is not the reason she steps out naked in public.

“I wouldn’t be doing something I didn’t want to do,” Censori, 31, shared in a Vanity Fair profile published on Friday, February 6. “Me and my husband would work on my outfits together.”

Censori made it clear that every time she stepped out naked, it was her choice.

“It was like a collaboration, it was never ‘I was being told to do something,’” she clarified. “If you were married to Gianni Versace, wouldn’t he give you a dress or something?”

Robyn Beck / AFP Kanye West is defending his wife Bianca Censori’s naked dress at the Grammy Awards. “My wife’s first red carpet opened a whole new world,” West, 47, mused via X early Thursday, February 6, alongside a photo of his and Censori’s red carpet appearance Sunday, February 2. “I keep staring at this […]

Censori and West, 48, have been married since 2022. In the rare interview, she made it clear that their marriage is not a stunt and denied she’s being controlled.

“I didn’t marry my husband because I wanted some sort of platform,” she said. “I married him because I love him. Is that like the corniest thing ever?”

However, Censori is not naive to the fact that she’s a “nepo wife,” which is why people care about her relationship.

“I’m famous by association,” she added. “But your image is replicated without your consent all the time. It’s replicated, it’s brought down, it’s picked apart, all those kind of things.”

Censori did admit that she had “an obvious obsession with nudity,” as evidenced by past red carpet appearances.

She made headlines at the Grammys in 2025 for arriving in an oversized fur coat and removing it to debut her flesh-colored transparent minidress that showed off her entire body.

West referred to it as a “custom couture” piece from his Yzy fashion label. “First women’s piece,” he captioned an Instagram post at the time.

Later that same evening, Censori attended Grammys afterparties in a sheer black thong bodysuit, continuing a night of naked looks. The following day, West praised his wife for her daring fashion choice.

“My wife is the most Googled person on the planet called Earth,” he shared on social media. “We beat the Grammys.”

Looking back, Censori is not shy about her decision to bare it all in the name of fashion.

“I was naked everywhere. I didn’t detach with it at any point. I consistently showed the same imagery over and over and over again.” she explained to Vanity Fair. “I live my artwork.”

The Australian architect — who is gearing up to unveil “BIO POP,” the first installment of a seven-year performance art exhibit in Korea — told the outlet that when she wears a sheer bodysuit exposing her nipples, it’s “basically not nudity.”

The profile notes that Censori became the “most Googled” woman in the world in 2025, something she was happy to address.

“I’m trying not to sound like I’m bragging, but it is not a position that anybody in time has ever had that much visibility without speech,” Censori explained. “If it was just nudity, a lot of people would have that. But it also proves in a time that was so overexposed and vulnerable, that mystery still has power.”
