An owner of a Washington state dispensary was seen in a profanity-laced video berating a state trooper who pulled someone over near the marijuana shop.

“Get the f— off my lot… You’re done. You did your due diligence. Get the f— off my f—ing lot,” a woman in the video yells at a police officer.

The woman in the video has been identified as Amy Dalluge, the owner of marijuana dispensary The Green Seed in Moses Lake, Washington, according to local news outlet Source One News, as well as the woman who recorded the video and posted it to social media earlier this year. 

The video shows a Washington State Patrol trooper, identified by Source One News as Yasin Anwar, standing outside a pulled-over vehicle while Dalluge yells at him to leave the area. Anwar told the outlet that he pulled the vehicle over because the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and that the driver pulled into The Green Seed’s parking lot.

The cop is seen remaining calm during the exchange, including when Dalluge threw her hands up in the trooper’s face and gave him the middle finger.

“All right, do you have any questions with that?” the trooper asks the driver of the car, referring to documentation regarding the traffic stop, as Dalluge continues yelling at him.

High Haven Dispensary, LLC is locating a marijuana dispensary at the Darien Plaza, 8131 Cass Avenue, Mayor Joseph A. Marchese announced this week.

High Haven, a female-led, minority owned, and social equity cannabis company, has officially secured five conditional licenses in Illinois to operate adult use cannabis dispensaries, according to a news release.

“We are thrilled to have found this excellent business location in the wonderful City of Darien. High Haven doesn’t just exist to sell cannabis. We’re making the world a better place to work, live and play for everyone by focusing on crafting the best customer and employee experience we can” Mahja Sulemanjee-Bortocek, CEO of High Haven, said in a statement.

Marchese said Darien has a strong business community with a variety of businesses and welcomed High Haven.

“Their business model promises to create a culture where compassion, respect, and trust between customers and employees are a priority,” Marchese said in a statement.

The Darien City Council approved an ordinance revision in December of 2019 that permits one marijuana dispensary to operate in the community, according to the release. The site chosen by High Haven is a permitted use with no further City Council action required. High Haven anticipates opening late spring.

A drug raid at a Jasper home ended with three people under arrest.

The Jasper Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Team carried out a search warrant in the 1100 block of Parrish Street Wednesday, said Chief J. C. Poe on Friday. The raid followed an investigation after police developed evidence of narcotics distribution from the home.

Investigators confiscated more than 7 pounds of marijuana, LSD strips, mushrooms, bags of edibles, jars of THC wax and THC cartridges. They also recovered four guns.

Jon Robert Marshall, 30, Crystal Leeann Marshall, 32, and Taylor Daniel Abernathy, 31, were each charged with drug trafficking, possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jon Marshall also has two counts of unlawful distribution of controlled substance and Taylor has one count of unlawful distribution of controlled substance.

Bond for both men was set at $80,000 each. Crystal Marshall’s bond was set at $25,000.

Roadside drug testing could begin next week – but won’t

A law allowing new random roadside drug testing takes effect next week, but on the show this week I predicted Police would not be ready to enforce it.

The Land Transport (Drug Driving) Amendment legislation was passed in March 2022, allowing officers to perform random roadside tests of drivers. Those who fail will (at a minimum) be fined, given demerit points, and barred from driving for 12 hours. The new law takes effect from Saturday 11 March, however I think it’s unlikely police intend to conduct a crackdown – or that they can.

For a start, the new regime makes oral swabs (saliva tests) the first step. These are supposed to be calibrated to measure impairment, not just detect use. My favourite Bay of Plenty website Sunlive reported this week that Police have “identified technological constraints” with the available devices in meeting the requirements of the Act. That could mean innocent drivers fail and impaired drivers pass (this was forewarned by NORML, and others, in submissions on the Bill).
