  • Jude Law Would Revive Mr. Napkin Head for ‘The Holiday’ Series on One Condition

    [ad_1]

Jude Law seduced more than a few viewers in the Christmas rom-com The Holiday. Released in 2006, the film starred Law as Graham, a widower and father of two little girls who gradually falls in love with Amanda, a recently separated Californian played by Cameron Diaz. Last month, fans of the romantic comedy that has become a holiday classic learned that the feature film would be adapted into a mini-series. The AppleTV+ project follows the original synopsis. Namely: the story of two young women, one British and one American, who swap homes for the festive season—and not without surprises, as they each end up finding true love during their journey.

In an interview with Today to promote his new Netflix series Black Rabbit, Law spoke about the return of the cult film. A project he didn’t know existed until the original director, Nancy Meyers, told him about it. “You know, I’ve heard of it. I don’t know anything about it. Nothing, except that I don’t think I’m part of it. I don’t know,” he said. “I think Nancy wrote to me and asked, ‘Have you heard of it?’ literally.”

So when asked if he’d be up for starring in the miniseries, Law had just one condition: that the director of the iconic rom-com be at the helm of the project. “Nancy Meyers would have to be involved [for me to accept],” he said. “She’s the one who gave the film its magic back in the day.” A pretty simple condition to meet, don’t you think? Well, far from it, since Meyers discovered the Apple TV+ project like millions of other Internet users—that is, on social media. It was in an Instagram story that the filmmaker shared her astonishment at the project’s announcement last August. “First news. Imagine my surprise when I opened Instagram and this was the first publication I saw,” she wrote.

In addition to the romance between Law and Diaz under the gray skies of the UK, The Holiday followed the adventures of Iris (Kate Winslet), a British journalist staying in Los Angeles who falls for Miles (Jack Black), a music composer. So, while Law doesn’t appear to be reprising his role in this Apple TV+ adaptation, it remains to be seen who will step into the shoes of his character Graham. Last month, casting began for the lead roles, formerly played by Diaz and Winslet. According to Deadline, the project should receive the green light once the stars align.

There’s something about Montecito! The coastal California town is beloved by A-listers including Cameron Diaz, who celebrated her 52n birthday at Meghan Markle’s favorite spot, Tre Luna.

Cameron was pictured with husband Benji Madden and their daughter Raddix, four, along with family and friends leaving the Italian spot; their son Cardinal, who was born in March 2024, was not in attendance.

The actress rocked a pair of cropped black pants with loafers and a simple black blouse, with her blonde hair tied in a loose ponytail, as seen in pictures shared by Page Six. As she exited the restaurant she was carrying a large white gift bag and a wrapped basket, and kept a close eye on Raddix who wore a baby pink onesie.

Chris Pratt and wife Katherine Schwarzenegger were in attendance, as was fashion designer Charlotte Ronson.

They have been raising their children in the small town where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are also raising their children, and were spotted this past week sharing a tender kiss after enjoying a quiet date night, with Cardinal.

The Mask actress looked effortlessly chic as she enjoyed a relaxed night out with the musician, in a black shirt and a dark green cardigan that added a touch of warmth to the cool California evening.

Benji, 45, is the lead guitarist for Good Charlotte, the band he formed with his brother Joel. Benji and Cameron met when Joel’s wife Nicole Richie introduced them in 2015, and they married that same year in an intimate ceremony at Cameron’s Beverly Hills home.

In December 2019, the couple welcomed their first child, Raddix, via surrogate, revealing the news to fans in early January.

“Happy New Year from the Maddens!” they wrote in an Instagram post at the time.

We are so happy, blessed, and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden. While we are overjoyed to share this news, we also feel a strong instinct to protect our little one’s privacy. So we won’t be posting pictures or sharing any more details, other than the fact that she is really, really cute!! Some would even say RAD.”

Cameron posted another rare post earlier in 2024 to share the joyous news that they had expanded their family: “We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our Son, Cardinal Madden.

“He is awesome and We are all so happy he is here! For the kids’ safety and privacy, we won’t be posting any pictures—but he’s really cute. We are feeling so blessed and grateful.”

  • Shrek 2 20th Anniversary Theatrical Rerelease Date Set

Shrek 2 20th Anniversary Theatrical Rerelease Date Set

    [ad_1]

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Shrek 2, Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation announced the animated classic’s return to theaters. It starts April 12, 2024.

Tickets for Shrek 2’s re-release will be available for purchase on March 8 on Fandango and other ticketing sites nationwide. AMC Theaters also announced that they will be screening the animated film for a limited time for only $5.00.

    Revisiting Far, Far Away

Shrek 2 — which debuted in theaters in May 2004 — has become one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time, grossing more than $900 million in its opening weekend worldwide. Apart from its impressive box office numbers, the animated film — directed by Andrew Adamson, Kelly Asbury, and Conrad Vernon — has cemented its place not only in animation history but also in pop culture at large, with a positive critical reception even after two decades since its initial release.

Shrek 2 is a follow-up to the success of the first installment and has continued to expand the franchise with more sequels and spin-offs. This includes Shrek the Third, Shrek Forever After, Puss in Boots, and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. The fifth Shrek movie was also announced last year, though details about it remain close to the vest.

Shrek 2 follows newlyweds Fiona and Shrek as they embark on a journey to meet the former’s parents at Far Far Away. However, everyone seems to be unhappy about their marriage, especially Fiona’s father.

The synopsis for Shrek 2 reads: “Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey set off to Far, Far Away to meet Fiona’s mother and father. But not everyone is happy. Shrek and the King find it hard to get along, and there’s tension in the marriage. The fairy godmother discovers that Shrek has married Fiona instead of her son Prince Charming and sets about destroying their marriage.“

The animated film also boasts an ensemble voice cast, which includes Mike Myers as Shrek, Eddie Murphy as Donkey, Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona, Antonio Banderas as Puss in Boots, John Cleese as King Harold, Julie Andrews as Queen Lillian, Rupert Everett as Prince Charming, and Jennifer Saunders as Fairy Godmother.

Cameron Diaz Wants To ‘Normalize Separate Bedrooms’ For Couples – ‘I Have My House, You Have Yours’

The Hollywood star Cameron Diaz is on a mission to “normalize separate bedrooms” for couples, saying that they should even have different houses.

    Diaz Sounds Off

Diaz, who has been married to the guitarist Benji Madden since 2015, said this while appearing on the “Lipstick on the Rim” podcast on Tuesday.

“We should normalize separate bedrooms,” said Diaz, 51. “To me, I would literally, I have my house, you have yours. We have a family house in the middle. I will go and sleep in your room, you go sleep in your room. I’m fine.”

“And we have the bedroom in the middle that we can convene in for our relations,” she continued.

When Diaz was warned that she was creating a “bad headline,” she immediately brushed off any concerns.

“I’ve already said it,” she explained. “By the way, I don’t feel that way now because my husband is so wonderful. I said that before I got married.”

    Diaz Returns To Acting

Entertainment Tonight reported that Diaz recently returned to acting for the first time in nearly a decade to star with Jamie Foxx in the film Back in Action, which has yet to be released. This was Diaz’s first acting gig since she starred in the 2014 version of Annie.

“It’s like riding a bike,” she said of performing, going on to explain why she took the role, which required her to move her family to London during filming.

“My husband and I made the decision for our family,” she said. “It was really about what our family needed. We had been in COVID, our daughter was three months old when COVID started. She was wanting — we wanted to kind of get out in the world. Like, have to get out in the world kind of thing.”

Diaz went on to say that she and Madden split parenting duties during filming. He would watch their daughter during the day and run his businesses at night, while Diaz would watch their daughter at night and film during the day.

“We were both kinda like, this is a great idea,” she said with a laugh. “But it really was. We had a great time.”

    Diaz Defends Jamie Foxx

During this same interview, Diaz denied rumors that Foxx had made “everything miserable and that I was never gonna make another movie again because of him.” She described Foxx, who she’s worked with on two other films in the past, as being a “cheerleader for the entire crew,” adding that “everybody loves him.”

“Jamie is the best. I love that guy so much. He’s such a special person, and he’s so talented, so much fun,” Diaz said. “We have so much fun on the set with him, and he’s just a professional on every level.”

“I really hate all of the things that were being said about our set,” she continued. “You just want to scream at the top of your lungs, like, ‘What are you talking about?’”

The $25 J.Crew Item I'm Buying to Get Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy's Look In 2024

I can’t be the only one who’s feed on every social media platform is currently home to a seemingly endless assortment of ’90s Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy photos. Not that I’m complaining—my Instagram Saved folder is just as packed with said images. Chic, sophisticated, and always dressed to the nines in a seemingly effortless manner, Bessette-Kennedy is the modern woman’s style icon for a reason. So anytime that I find an item that’s even remotely similar to one she frequented back then, I have to buy it. End of story.

Well, that’s exactly what happened today when I was scrolling through J.Crew and stumbled across a $25 tortoiseshell acetate headband that looks shockingly similar to the style Bessette-Kennedy wore on repeat, either with her corn-blonde hair worn straight and down or tied up in her signature chignon. (I saw on TikTok that she was rumored to have bought hers at C.O. Bigelow, an iconic New York City pharmacy in the West Village.) Of course, I ordered one right away and will probably be back for its Kelly green alternative. Follow my lead after looking through some of Bessette-Kennedy’s best headband-clad street-style looks.

  • Director McG Wouldn’t Pass Up A Third ‘Charlie’s Angels’ Movie: ‘I Think We Have One More In Us’

Director McG Wouldn’t Pass Up A Third ‘Charlie’s Angels’ Movie: ‘I Think We Have One More In Us’

    [ad_1]

    By Brent Furdyk.

It’s been more than 20 years since Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz teamed up for 2000’s “Charlie’s Angels”, and the film’s director is revealing that he’d be open to producing a second sequel (“Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle”, which came out in 2003).

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, director McG said he’d be open to reuniting with the women for a third film — despite the failure of the 2019 big-screen reboot, starring Kristen Stewart and directed by Elizabeth Banks.

“It would take a long discussion with those three wonderful performers who I adore,” McG said of the trio.

“I was very happy to see Elizabeth Banks take the helm and do what she did, which was fun. There always seems to be chatter about that. I’m very happy to discuss it with Drew and Cameron and Lucy, but at the same time, I’m very happy to pass the torch. I mean, I love the Tim Burton Batman movies, I love the new Batman movies. It’s just sort of like there can be a keeper of the flame and you can pass the torch,” he continued.

“Who knows? Maybe we’ve got one left in us that tells a very compelling story if the opportunity presents itself,” he adds. “I love the three of them so much. They put me on the map. They looked out for me when I was a first-time filmmaker. I was very nearly fired off that film on many, many occasions, and Drew stood up for me and I’m forever indebted to her. And obviously, those are three performers where God broke the mold. They don’t make ’em like that. I mean, those are three special ones,” McG added.

“The movie was insane at the time,” McG recalled. “[Former Sony executive] Amy Pascal would come down and go, ‘What? Am I supposed to laugh? Am I supposed to take it seriously? Why is there so much colour? Why are they always dancing? Why is there so much music?’ I said, ‘Amy, you got to trust me. It’s all going to come together in the end.’ And to her credit, she trusted me, yes, but by the skin of my teeth.”

McG isn’t the only member of the OG crew who’d be down for a sequel.

“I would be surprised if any one of us ever decreed that we wouldn’t [do a third movie]. I would. I would in a heartbeat,” said Barrymore on her talk show last year. “The answer is an emphatic yes. I will always say yes.”
