  • 6 Items That Went So Viral They Already Sold Out—30 Alts I’m Buying Instead

6 Items That Went So Viral They Already Sold Out—30 Alts I’m Buying Instead

    [ad_1]

These days, it can feel like the viral cycle moves on a 24-hour basis, with new It items rising to peak popularity so fast, it’s close to impossible to ever even get your hands on them before the masses do, leading to a complete sell out. Even when an item has a high price tag that, for most people, would call for months of budgeting, somehow, every retailer will sell out of it in days—sometimes even hours—and either take months to restock it or never bring it back at all. In such cases, if you want to get in on the trend, you have to get creative.

My solution, at least when I’ve tried and failed to find the exact item in my size on the secondhand market, is to dig through the internet for worthwhile alternatives that will allow me to check the trend off my list without the real thing. Yes, it takes work, especially if you want to find a proper substitute. Nonetheless, I’m almost always able to stumble upon a resolution.

This week, following my own search for alts of the spring items I want but can’t have (probably because they went viral somewhere on the internet), I decided it was only right to share my findings. Ahead, discover 6 sold-out (or almost sold-out) items and the many alternatives I believe are just as worth spending money on. Don’t take too long to shop them, though, as history proves that they, like their predecessors, won’t last long.

  • As a 30-Something, I Feel Seen By These 29 Zara New Arrivals

As a 30-Something, I Feel Seen By These 29 Zara New Arrivals

    [ad_1]

As someone who peruses Zara’s new arrivals on a near-daily basis, I can say with confidence that there are tons of chic options for people of every age. Zara is one of the few brands I’ve been shopping consistently since my early 20s (which was a long time ago).

I’ve found that my style has become much more classic in my 30s, but I still like to experiment with trends each season, and as we all know, Zara is great for doing so with its very reasonable price points. I’m often impressed by Zara but lately, I’ve really been blown away by its offerings. I keep a close eye on the new arrivals section, in particular, because Zara items have long been known for flying out of stock.

So in case you were wondering what a 30-something fashion editor loves from Zara, here are my picks from the new arrivals. Good luck deciding what to order (I know I need it).

  • Everything You Should Know Before Buying Zara Jeans

Everything You Should Know Before Buying Zara Jeans

    [ad_1]

People might disagree with me (especially on TikTok, where edits are constantly made about this topic), but I’m obsessed with Zara‘s product imagery. From the styling to the varying locations and artistic framing, I can’t get enough of it, so much so that I end up buying (and then returning) a great deal of items that I probably wouldn’t have taken an interest in had I gone into a physical store. And of all the pieces I’ve ordered, the ones that most consistently trips me up are jeans

I have a love-hate relationship with Zara jeans. On one hand, the price-to-quality ratio is out of this world, specifically in the case of its non-stretch, 100% cotton offerings. On the other, I’ve been burned by its jeans with elastic that lose their color and shape too quickly, the varying lengths of its denim silhouettes, and confusing sizing. Since you can’t read reviews of the denim on its website, there’s no real way to know how a style will fit or look IRL without actually trying them on. Knowing that, I decided to take one for the team and try on a ton of the brand’s coolest jeans right now and give you the 411.

Scroll down for the truth about Zara’s jeans.

Because I Love a Bargain—13 Perfumes Under $100 Worth Your Attention

    [ad_1]

Let’s be real here: Perfumes can get pretty pricey. Sometimes, a high-end fragrance might run you over $300. There’s no denying that fragrances are a worthy investment—good ones last a long time and often wear better—but that doesn’t mean that some of the more affordable fragrances aren’t incredible in their own ways.

We love our expensive and luxe fragrances, but we also feel like everyone needs an affordable option, too—one that you wouldn’t mind wearing every day and spritzing with abandon. Sometimes, we all just want to drench ourselves in perfume and not feel like we’re wearing $35 worth in one day.

  • According To a Lingerie Expert, You Only Need To Own These 6 Types of Underwear

According To a Lingerie Expert, You Only Need To Own These 6 Types of Underwear

    [ad_1]

As someone who almost exclusively wears thongs, I have long been convinced I don’t need to update my lingerie drawers. That was until a recent conversation I had with the CEO of Journelle, Sapna Palep. She told me, “Just like you have a bra wardrobe, that has different types of bras that work for different activities and different occasions, you need a bottoms wardrobe too. It is okay to be a superfan of one style and have many of that style, but you should still have a few other styles as options. ” And she’s right.

In order to look as polished and elevated as humanly possible, you need to have a good undergarment collection to match. Underwear is often overlooked and saved for last-minute Christmas gifts but it’s a must-have investment for anyone looking to scale up their wardrobe.

Go on to see which types of underwear Journelle’s CEO thinks we should all own.

  • Wait, GAP is Low-Key Serving Lately—9 Finds I Tried On That Impressed Me IRL

Wait, GAP is Low-Key Serving Lately—9 Finds I Tried On That Impressed Me IRL

    [ad_1]

Wait, that’s GAP? Is a phrase I’ve heard on repeat all week. After putting a number of their wardrobe basics to the test recently, I’ve gotten nothing but shocked reactions from everyone who’s inquired. Nobody seems to believe that pieces this forward are from the retailer, and even more shocking, that they all ring up for under $100.

Let me rewind a minute. I didn’t just wander over to the GAP site unprompted. First, it was my sister who showed up to our last family holiday in a very Parisian-looking navy striped sweater which she proudly informed me was from GAP. Then, I spotted a few of the retailer’s basic tees being raved about in a TikTok shopping haul. But the real kicker was when I uncovered the most epic silver jeans that I raced to buy after seeing similar styles on the runway during NYFW last month. So while I haven’t shopped at the GAP in years, consider this my official apology letter: sorry I ever overlooked your assortment of cool and classic wardrobing essentials. I won’t do it again!

Now that they’re on my radar again, they need to be on yours, too. In the interest of sharing the wealth, I did a bit of digging around on the site and ended up finding a trove of cool spring staples that I never would have otherwise encountered. I decided to put my shopping knowledge to good use and do my own version of a GAP haul so that everyone can understand just how good the shopping is there right now.

So behold, the nine best GAP wardrobe basics I can’t stop raving about. Read my reviews and see how each of them look IRL, then add them to your cart because trust me, you won’t be able to resist.

Occasionally, a colleague in the industry, an old acquaintance, or even a family member will ask me pointedly, “how did you get that handbag?” As an editor, I’m well aware that many can’t imagine forking over a pretty penny to purchase a purse, so the curiosity is understandable. The Spring Trend That’s Wearable, Flattering, and Easy to Buy at Any Budget

    [ad_1]

Take it from me: The granny jacket is spring’s best investment piece—and that’s whether you want to spend $50 or $500. What exactly is a granny jacket, you ask? Think a boxy iteration of outerwear that buttons up, is often (but not always) collarless, typically in a tweed or boucle style fabric, and basically looks like something Emily Gilmore would wear. If you don’t know who that is, stop reading this immediately and start streaming Gilmore Girls on Netflix right now.

Anyway, back to the jackets. Whether it’s on the streets, in stores, online, or on my Instagram feed, the style has been everywhere I look, and thanks to its sleekness and versatility, I’ve concluded that it’s a must for the season ahead. Since I had to do the research for myself anyway, below I’m sharing my favorite granny jackets at every price point along with a healthy dose of outfit inspiration to guide you in the right styling direction.
