College of DuPage Becomes First NJCAA Program to Adopt PlaySight’s Smart Sports AI Technology

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    updated: May 20, 2019

Today, the College of DuPage and PlaySight are excited to announce a new technology partnership – PlaySight’s SmartCourt sports AI technology will be coming to the Chaparrals coaches and student-athletes. The Chaparrals will have access to live streaming and automated production technology, as well as video and performance analysis tools. PlaySight officially partnered with the NJCAA in November of last year, and College of DuPage is the first member-school to adopt the technology for its athletic department.

Top athletes and teams across the sporting world have been training and playing with PlaySight for several years now, including the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons, several leading NCAA basketball programs, including the University of North Carolina and Wake Forest University, and over 70 other NCAA programs across tennis and other varsity sports. PlaySight also works with leading high schools, prep schools and academies throughout the country and around the world.

PlaySight was the first company to develop advanced artificial intelligence (AI) software for sports that has enabled a pro-level platform to be brought to all levels of athletics. PlaySight makes courts, gyms, fields and rinks ‘Smart’ by installing its software and connected camera technology. Once set up, SmartCourts provide several benefits to athletes, coaches, teams and fans, from automated HD broadcast live streaming and advanced coaching tools to instant replay video, VAR, and a content platform to store, manage and share video quickly and seamlessly.

Greg McVey, the director of Athletics and Recreational Programs at College of DuPage expects PlaySight to help his program engage with both its student-athletes and community in new ways. “Technology allows athletic departments to reach out in new and creative ways all of the time.  By partnering with PlaySight and its Smart technology and becoming its first community college client, this will enhance College of DuPage and its student-athletes and programs in ways that we haven’t achieved before. We’re excited about delivering our message to our athletes and community with this new platform.”

“As a company, we are focused on bringing technology to all teams and levels, and that is why we were so excited last year to officially partner with the NJCAA,” said PlaySight Director Erik Gormley. “DuPage has established itself as a sports technology leader within the community college level and we’re excited to see the impact that our Smart platform will have on the school, alumni, community, coaches and athletes. We’re leveling the playing field with our affordable platform and our goal is to give every team the same experience with our video technology.”

Both PlaySight and the NJCAA expect DuPage to be the first of many community colleges to add this technology heading into next season. “It is exciting to see the innovative technology from PlaySight starting to grow with our member colleges,” said Brian Luckett, Chief External Affairs and Development Officer of the NJCAA. “The autonomous video production and SmartCourt technology has a significant impact for NJCAA programs when they are expected to do more with less. This technology helps to do just that.”

  • Kearsarge Energy Announces Andrew Bernstein Entrepreneur of the Year® 2019 Award Finalist in New England

Kearsarge Energy Announces Andrew Bernstein Entrepreneur of the Year® 2019 Award Finalist in New England

    [ad_1]

Kearsarge Energy is pleased to announce that its Managing Partner and Founder, Andrew Bernstein, is a finalist for the Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2019 Award in the New England region. Widely considered one of the most prestigious business awards programs in the U.S., the program recognizes entrepreneurs and leaders of high-growth companies who are excelling in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities, while also transforming our world. Andrew Bernstein was selected as a finalist by a panel of independent judges. Award winners will be announced at a special gala event on June 26 at the Westin Waterfront in Boston, Massachusetts.

Andrew Bernstein is a serial entrepreneur, having led two AI software companies to market leadership and subsequent acquisition. Inspired by a vision to promote profitable sustainability, in 2009 Bernstein founded Kearsarge Energy, an Independent Power Producer (IPP) which develops, finances, owns and operates renewable energy projects.

Kearsarge’s mission is to create public-private partnerships that benefit communities and the environment. Kearsarge typically uses publicly owned brownfields and Super Fund sites that have limited — if any — utility for local communities, transforming those properties into a revenue-generating asset for all stakeholders. Kearsarge often improves public land as part of a solar project, having installed bike paths, walking paths and other improvements to land adjacent to its solar fields. When the solar project is complete, the land is restored to its original condition, and in many cases improved, while generating revenue for the owner for the duration of the solar project.

Bernstein notes, “I am proud of what Kearsarge and its many public and private sector partners and dedicated and brilliant staff have been able to achieve over the last several years. Although I am thrilled to have been named a finalist, I am acutely aware that many others had a significant hand in building Kearsarge’s renewable energy business. One of the most critical learnings in my personal journey is that no entrepreneur succeeds alone.”

Now in its 33rd year, the program has expanded to recognize business leaders in more than 145 cities and more than 60 countries throughout the world.

Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year National competition. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner, will be announced at the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards gala in Palm Springs, California, on Nov. 16, 2019. The awards are the culminating event of the Strategic Growth Forum®, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.

    Sponsors

Founded and produced by Ernst & Young LLP, the Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards are nationally sponsored by SAP America and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.

In the New England region, gold sponsors include fama PR, the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Nixon Peabody, True Search and Woodruff Sawyer. Silver sponsors include Brown Brothers Harriman, Chatham Financial, Empire Valuation Consultants, Morgan Lewis, Sullivan & Worcester and T3 Advisors.

An immense amount of growth in the real estate industry over the last 5 years has heightened competition in nearly every market. Real Estate success is harder to come by when more and more people are after your clients, your listing opportunities, and your chance to grow a successful business, it’s critical to separate yourself from the pack and stand out as the expert agent. And it’s also easy.

Most agents are time-strapped and don’t know what “down time” even looks like, so strategizing how to stand out can seem like a tall order. But, when it comes to successful real estate business ideas, it’s just about highlighting your strengths and staying open to new ideas.

Veronica Figueroa of the Figueroa team sat down with us to share her own strategies. As the leader of the #1 RE/MAX team in Orlando, she knows a thing or two about standing out. She’s built a brand that draws people in and is synonymous with real estate success.

Here are her 2 most important things:

    Lead Generation Real Estate Plan

What Can you Offer that is Unique?

Determining your unique value proposition — what you have to offer your customers that other agents don’t or can’t is the first step. The Figueroa Team highlights their team members to help build a very authentic brand. Their marketing is highly personalized.

“We are authentic to ourselves. We are fun and quirky. That is who we are and people want to do business with us because they feel like they know us, they can trust us, and can tell we will go all in with them.”

    • Make sure your website and collateral reflects the personality of your team.
      • The Figueroa Team has an “about us” section on their site that showcases the typical head shots and bios for team members, but they also have another portion to highlight the “back end.” These are shots of each team member that highlight their passions, One is a foodie, one loves horseback riding…you get the idea. It’s a great way to connect people with common interests and position team members with their own unique value propositions.
    • Leverage videos with a powerful CRM to create personal messages that build strong connections.
      • Valerie and her team create video messages regularly. They throw together quick videos to post on social media to answer questions and join in conversations and also incorporate them into nurture campaigns in the CRM. These videos range from welcoming new prospects to congratulating buyers on going under contract. It’s an easy way to keep up the “face time” with prospects and clients while still maintaining efficiency.
    • Publicly celebrate team successes and wins to intrigue consumers, highlight your skillset and attract talent.
      • Veronica and her team know how important it is to build a brand that consumers feel. They celebrate achievements (both personal and professional) on their social channels to highlight the human side of success. When prospects see how successful they are they want to work with that team, and the same goes for talented agents who might be a great fit for the team!

Bonus! Want some Real Estate Business Ideas from Veronica?

Here are some of the things her team uses to stand out!

    • Agent DJ: That’s right, one of Veronica’s agents has a passion for music. His DJ hobby also helps his clients. When one of his buyers closes, he personally DJs a housewarming party at their new home. How’s that for celebrating wins?
    • A Crafty Closing: Another agent is an expert on all things cute and crafty. When closings come her way she whips up something creative and personal to highlight the occasion and leave a lasting memento of her valuable service. I bet that serves as a wonderful reminder when her clients are asked about referrals or it’s time to move again!

The main goal is to offer prospects an experience that isn’t easily duplicated. The Figueroa team knows they can stand out because their prospects got to know them- got to see their personalities. Pull together a Public Relations plan for your business, and make sure your marketing efforts are showcasing your most authentic self, especially in a crowded market.

    Real Estate Lead Generation

Never Shy Away from Innovating and Learning

You’ve determined what makes you and your team unique. You have a plan to play to those strengths in your marketing and communications, but the next piece is to continue your momentum with constant innovation and new sources for real estate business ideas.

“Don’t get caught up in what everyone else is doing. Don’t follow the shiny new thing, and remember that you can’t go cookie-cutter status quo and stay ahead.”

In order to set yourself apart and stay successful you have to keep putting yourself out there and stay far away from your comfort zone.

    • Shake hands with the competition
      • Veronica hit the conference circuit hard. She hustled and introduced herself, pulled a seat up at the table where people she wanted to talk to were sitting and she made sure she was in all the places where she could connect with people who were doing great things and figure out how she could learn from them and help herself stand out in real estate. Her brand wasn’t just for prospects, it was for colleagues and fellow real estate agents too. And she’s built one heck of a referral business from her efforts.
    • Don’t be scared to take risks
      • Don’t shy away from learning and innovating. From great risks come great payoffs. The Figueroa team were some of the trailblazers who tried ZIllow’s instant offers platform. She said there was a lot of backlash, but she learned so much, her team learned so much, and she ended up receiving Inman’s Innovator Award for most Innovating Real Estate Team. Not bad! That award threw some serious industry street cred her way and is something they can tout for their clients too.

It’s all pretty simple when you think about it. Play to your strengths, showcase your value, and surround yourself with the tools and people to help you learn and grow. The more you invest in practices that help you build strong, supportive relationships with your buyers and sellers and help them succeed, the more you stand out and stand to gain. Real estate success is yours!

Volunteer Ministers Recognized for Their Work to Alleviate Hunger

    [ad_1]

Church of Scientology Volunteer Ministers in Seattle were recognized for their work with Food Lifeline and their continuing efforts to address hunger in western Washington.

    Press Release

    updated: May 16, 2019

International Volunteer Recognition Day was celebrated at an open house at the Church of Scientology in Seattle acknowledging its Volunteer Ministers Corps and their 15 years of service with Food Lifeline, a member of the national hunger relief group Feeding America.

Guest speaker Kirsten Riley, volunteer coordinator with Food Lifeline’s Hunger Solution Center in Seattle, acknowledged the Volunteer Ministers for their longstanding partnership with the group and their monthly work at the center sorting and repacking food for those in need.

In her presentation, Ms. Riley highlighted the plight of those going without food in Washington State. Statistics show that one in eight people face hunger in Washington—one in five of them children.

Volunteer Ministers join over 13,000 volunteers annually at Food Lifeline to repack food that is then distributed to over 300 food banks, shelters and meal programs throughout western Washington, providing the equivalent of 116,000 meals every day for children, adults and seniors.

“It’s our privilege to help Food Lifeline with its mission to end hunger in our state,” said Danar Hoverson who supervises the Volunteer Minister Corps in Washington. “We routinely work with groups such as Food Lifeline, the Queen Anne Food Bank, WAVOAD—Washington Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster—to help address real needs in our area.”

In creating the Volunteer Ministers program in the mid 1970s, Scientology Founder, L. Ron Hubbard wrote: “A Volunteer Minister is a person who helps his fellow man on a volunteer basis by restoring purpose, truth and spiritual values to the lives of others.”

The Church of Scientology provides free online training on various subjects including dealing with stress, creating a good marriage, communication skills, parenting and disaster relief services. These courses are available on the Volunteer Ministers website. Anyone who desires to help others may increase their skills and opportunities for volunteer service through this training.

  • Amslee Institute Survey Identifies Top Issues Facing Nannies and Family-Employers

Amslee Institute Survey Identifies Top Issues Facing Nannies and Family-Employers

    [ad_1]

Nannies seek top dollar with limited childcare credentials while families seek Nanny Poppins for $10 per hour

    Press Release

    updated: May 15, 2019

Working relationships and qualifications are the top issues, but nannies and family-employers face non-traditional work environment challenges including safety, privacy and job duties. According to Amslee Institute’s Nanny Survey 2019, 74 percent of nannies believe only three years of experience are needed to be a professional nanny. Moreover, 63 percent of nannies do not have a college degree and eight percent feel experience is the only qualification needed to be a professional nanny. Working in a non-traditional environment, 33 percent of nannies have felt unsafe and 67 percent would not report infidelity.

Unlike other professions, being a professional nanny in the United States does not require educational or childcare degrees, advanced training, internships or any designated skills or experience. “Traditionally, nannies in the United States have been trained by other nannies and nanny agency owners through workshops because there are no government regulations or standards,” shares Elizabeth Malson, president of Amslee Institute. “Comprehensive online programs are now available and provide nannies greater access and flexibility to invest in quality training and continuing education.”

To qualify for top jobs, a professional nanny historically invested in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. These options required a significant financial investment and time commitment for a two- or four-year college program in an industry with starting wages at the federal and state minimums. Meeting collegiate standards with faculty-taught classes, Amslee Institute provides comprehensive online Childcare Diploma and Certification programs. These nanny-specific programs are designed for in-home childcare and require a lower financial investment than traditional college courses and take no more than 12 weeks to complete.

    What Differentiates Sitters and Nannies?

Families often equate nannies and sitters, failing to understand the difference in childcare skills. Families viewing childcare as a supervisory position requiring little training or experience offer $8-15 an hour and are best served by sitters. Families who view in-home childcare as an extension of the child’s education and development are more willing to pay $15-30+ per hour and seek nannies with specialized skills and training. These families seek a childcare provider who can invest in the social, physical, emotional and intellectual development of their children. Distinguishing the job responsibilities between child supervision and child development differentiates sitters from nannies.

Amslee Institute found that 59 percent of nannies believe families seek candidates with college-level training (Childcare Diploma and Certification, Early Childhood Education Associate or Bachelor Degree). Nannies report that their family-employers support childcare training and continuing education with 52 percent of families currently paying for training, 31 percent of families are willing to pay for training and only 17 percent are not willing to pay for training.

    What Defines a Professional Nanny?

There is no standard definition for “professional nanny.” In general, 75 percent of nannies surveyed feel family-employers respect the nanny profession but nannies often do not feel respected in their individual employment situations. Unlike certified nursing assistants, beauticians and teachers, all of whom must have a license or defined credentials, being a nanny does not legally require any training. Thus, families are not able to easily identify quality in-home childcare as there is no standardization of terms including nanny, professional nanny and family assistant. Adding to the confusion, several organizations offer professional nanny certifications without requiring training, references or proof of childcare experience. Thus, hiring a “professional” nanny may not satisfy families and declaring oneself a “professional” nanny may not help nannies achieve their desired compensation.

Is It Safe to Be a Nanny?

Most nannies feel safe working in the family’s home; however, 33 percent of nannies report feeling unsafe on the job. Verbal or emotional abuse was the most commonly reported issue (27 percent), followed by being physically threatened (11 percent), discriminated against (11 percent) and sexually harassed (nine percent).

    Do Nannies Keep Family Secrets?

Although confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements are increasingly common as a condition of employment for nannies, families without these agreements still expect a certain level of privacy. Regarding extra-marital activities, 67 percent of nannies would not report infidelity even with first-hand knowledge and only 33 percent would confront the spouse or partner engaging in infidelity.

Privacy issues also arise from the nanny’s position in the family structure. Nannies and family employers often struggle to maintain boundaries as they build a familial-style working relationship. When asked about their preferred relationship with the family, 39 percent of nannies want to be treated as an equal in the family, not an employee. When the same group was asked which best describes their relationship with the family employer, 76 percent of nannies feel they are treated as a family member or close friend. Casual friendship was selected 11 percent and an employee relationship was selected 13 percent. The close relationships often blur the bounds of privacy and professionalism.

What Household Work is Part of the Nanny’s Job?

Every nanny job is customized to a specific family, creating different duties and levels of responsibility. Nannies sign up for childcare but less than half (48 percent) of nannies feel their fundamental responsibilities include housekeeping skills (such as laundry, dishwashing, vacuuming) not directly tied to childcare. Only 14 percent of nannies feel their responsibilities include pet care, grocery shopping or other family services.

Nannies often struggle with expanding job responsibilities and frequently have difficulty getting compensated for additional work. Families may ask nannies to work longer hours and/or complete tasks that were not originally defined in the job description. When this occurs, a discussion between the nanny and family-employer is essential to ensure complete understanding and alignment on the scope and compensation of the job.

About the Amslee Institute Nanny Survey 2019

The Nanny Survey 2019 identifies and helps families and nannies manage the unique challenge of in-home childcare. Capturing the responses of more than 64 nannies in the United States during the month of October 2018, the Nanny Survey 2019 is shared with the childcare community to increase engagement and communication in a positive manner that advances in-home care of children.

For more information about the survey, visit amsleeinstitute.com/nanny-survey-2019. Amslee Institute also offers families a free, Ultimate Guide on How to Hire a Nanny. Supporting families and nannies, Amslee Institute routinely publishes childcare articles.

    updated: May 13, 2019

In January of 2019, the Destiny Community Center launched a new Special Needs Initiative, aimed at supporting the disabled community and their families. The Destiny mantra “Love Our City” means every family, every individual, and every child. These kids inspire a very innocent, very special kind of love, a love that we should look to for inspiration.

    Respite Events

Destiny hosted their first Respite Night on April 5th and serviced dozens of families with special needs children. Plans to host more respite events like Senior Balls, Sensory Events, and other engagement activities at the Destiny Community Center are underway.

    Family Support

In addition to providing events and activities for the families, Destiny will also be providing support to the entire family. Free classes, workshops, and resources will empower both family and community members as they engage with the special needs population.

There are 41,000,000 individuals, almost 15% of the U.S. population, that have some sort of disability, and we’re not leaving them behind.

    Community Outreach

The Destiny Community Center hosts numerous outreach events through the year, such as the Backpack Giveaway, where thousands of backpacks are given to students in need, packed with school supplies. Moreover, it’s a day of games, prizes, and entertainment for their entire family. Destiny is continually working with the local school districts and government agencies to provide inclusion to these disabled individuals and families.

Daystar School Announces IB Certification, Name Change to Daystar Academy and the Launch of a High School

    [ad_1]

Changes reflect continued growth of Chicago’s leader in non-denominational faith-based schooling.

    Press Release

    updated: May 10, 2019

Daystar School today announced its new name, “Daystar Academy: An IB World School,” to reflect its expanded ability to offer the highly lauded, world-leading curricular framework of an officially authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. With the new name and the launch of its inaugural 9th grade class, Daystar students now have a stronger presence on the world stage and will benefit from the higher acceptance rates at universities and colleges typical of IB graduates.

An IB education prepares students to thrive in the transition from high school to college through an invigorating academic way of learning that requires initiative, organization, and follow-through, and results in students who feel comfortable being the leaders and innovators of tomorrow; the adults the world needs!

“With our commitment to producing engaged global citizens and lifelong learners, we’ve adopted a learning program that takes a global approach to understanding big ideas across disciplines,” explained Tami Doig, Head of School at Daystar Academy. “As an IB World School, Daystar Academy is committed to helping our students understand the philosophical underpinning of knowledge through the guidance of highly skilled educators who engage each student through topics of study that hone their passions and an understanding of the world around them.”

This announcement comes as the school continues to grow via the opening of a high school this fall. “Expanding our program to include high school is a logical extension that enables us to continue empowering students to positively impact the world,” shared Deena Marie Carr, Chairman of the Board at Daystar Academy. “We believe that education needs to be experienced first-hand, touched with your hands, and felt with emotion. We’ve built a program that ensures that every student embraces the world around them as their classroom, using local, national and global resources as tools for learning.”

Daystar, founded in 1997, is now fully authorized to offer the IB Middle Years Program (MYP) for grades 6-10 and a candidate school for the Pre-K through grade 5 Primary Years Program (PYP). Daystar will offer the IB Diploma Program for high school as the launch class ages up to the Diploma Program grades of 11 and 12.

Daystar Academy is hosting an open house for prospective high school students on Monday, May 13 at 7pm. Daystar Academy is accepting applications for fall 2019 for preschool through grade 9.

    About Daystar Academy

Daystar Academy, formerly known as Daystar School, is a faith-based, culturally engaged, globally-minded high school in Chicago’s South Loop, preparing students to positively impact the world. • 31 Irish Slang Terms You Should Know

31 Irish Slang Terms You Should Know

    [ad_1]

People in Ireland speak English, but not exactly the “Queen’s English.” With a little help from the Gaelic language—called Irish—the populace of the Emerald Isle has devised its very own collection of weird and wonderful words and phrases. Here are a few Irish colloquialisms to help you understand the next person you meet from Derry, Dublin, or Donegal.

Craic is pronounced “crack,” and it means general banter or fun. Originally, the word was spelled crack when it was used by Ulster Scots; the Gaelic spelling wasn’t widely used in Ireland until it was popularized as the catchphrase in the Irish-language TV show SBB ina Shuí starting in the 1970s.

There’s more than just one craic in Irish slang. According to Irish Central, the craic was 90 signifies “the nirvana of craic,” though it can also be used sarcastically when something that was supposed to be a good time ends up being the opposite. No one is quite sure where the phrase originated, but theories abound: One has it that the phrase originated with the Christy Moore song “The Craic Is Ninety in the Isle of Man,” while others believe the 90 represents speed.

A phrase used when a good time goes bad and no fun is had at all. Other craic terms include good craic, mighty craic, deadly craic, and what’s the craic, meaning ”how are you?”

    A small orange kitten.

You could definitely call this kitten “wee.” / Kryssia Campos/Moment/Getty Images

This term is used to describe something that is very small.

Pronounced “wayne,” this word means “child.”

The word lethal is mainly used in northwestern Ireland and means “great.” You can also abbreviate lethal into leefs.

Pronounced “kware,” this word can be used in a variety of ways to mean “great,” “very,” and “terrific.”

Quite possibly Ireland’s greatest linguistic achievement, this phrase is the perfect way to curse without technically cursing. Replace the e with a u, and you have what this slang term means.

A short, or wee (see above), walk.

Act the maggot is a verb that means “to mess around,” by behaving foolishly, for example, or by avoiding work.

You can say aye for yes and naw for no.

    A woman waving.

While it might be confusing, yes means hello.

This term means it’s raining heavily. If it’s lashing rain, you may want to just stay inside.

This word is used as a verb and it means to make a joke at someone else’s expense.

You know that feeling you get when you’ve enjoyed a fairly big Tuesday night in a club, and then stumble into work the next morning after downing six espresso shots at the nearest Starbucks? That’s what some might call being wired to the moon. (Cassell’s Dictionary of Slang says the phrase means “crazy.”)

You can use this word to say something is bad or awful. According to Ireland Calling, it’s most likely short for the phrase cat on a melodeon. A melodeon is a small organ, so we can imagine a feline walking across one would not sound that great.

You can also use this word to describe something that’s bad.

The top of a glass of Guinness.

If you’ve had a few too many pints of Guinness (also known as the black stuff) in Ireland, you might be described as langered, or drunk.

A way to describe a person who is a bit stupid, or at least very annoying.

Gas, when used by the Irish, means ”funny.”

If you’re looking for a new way to say “I have no idea,” try this phrase on for size.

The perfect way to take someone who is overly arrogant down a peg or two? Tell them to wind their neck in. It basically means “be quiet!”

Donkey’s years is a phrase Irish people use meaning ”a long time” (as in, ”I’ve known him for donkey’s years,” an example given in the video above), as is yonks.

This is a word for face.

    A quick, or wee, look.

Another way to say you’re feeling delighted.

Culchie is the term people who live in Dublin use to refer to someone who lives in the rural areas outside the city.

The origin of banjaxed, which was first used in 1939 in the Irish novel At Swim-Two-Birds, is unclear—the Oxford English Dictionary posits it may have been Dublin slang—but it means “damaged,” “ruined,” or ”broken.”

The top of a toilet with two rolls of toilet paper on it.

“Just need to head to the jacks!” / Kinga Krzeminska/Moment/Ireland

Another way to refer to a toilet.

Simplay3 Presents a Modern Variation of the Classic Teeter Totter Toy

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    updated: May 8, 2019

The Simplay3 Company has created a modern take on the classic teeter totter with a Simplay3 twist! Two children can use it as a seesaw, but flip it upside down and any number of kids can use it as a tunnel!

“The Rock & Roll Teeter was designed to entertain multiple children and provide more than one way to play,” explains Simplay3 product designer, Keary Knerem. “I have three young children and a small home, so my intent was to pack in as much play value as possible. Two kids can seesaw, as any other teeter does, and we also discovered they love to spin around together and get dizzy. We found that the younger ones like to crawl through a center tunnel created when the teeter is upside down, as well as race toy cars across and down the ramp surface or through the smaller tunnel-like openings.”

The teeter is kid-friendly with its rounded edges, easy grip handles and end stops to prevent it from rocking too far. Every child will love this curvy seesaw with its wide contoured seats and high backrests. The durable, double-wall plastic construction is perfect for indoor or outdoor use, and it wipes clean easily. No assembly is required.

Simplay3 products for kids and grown-ups can be purchased on the company website and on Amazon Marketplace. For more information, please visit www.simplay3.com.

The new ELD-compliant (Electronic Logging Device) software is optimized to work with the Cradlepoint NetCloud service and select wireless edge routers.

    Press Release

    updated: May 8, 2019

Forward Thinking Systems (FTS) has released the first ELD-compliant, FMCSA-registered software program that is compatible with and optimized for the Cradlepoint NetCloud service and select wireless edge router devices.

Cradlepoint is a market leader in advanced cellular router solutions for the transportation and public sector markets. The new FTS ELD software is compatible with Cradlepoint’s IBR1700, IBR900, and IBR1100 series of mobile routers using an add-on dongle that plugs into the vehicle’s Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to read the J1939 and OBD2 parameters. The ELD data is stored and transmitted over Wi-Fi to ensure that all logs are up-to-date and ready for review. The information is also displayed in real time on the driver’s smart phone or tablet.

Users can see the ELD logs and the ECU readings using Forward Thinking’s browser-based command center IntelliHub® and the mobile workforce management app Field Warrior®, which is compatible with devices using Android version 4.2 or newer.

“The Cradlepoint NetCloud service and mobile routers are capable of utilizing dual modems that support any combination of cellular providers, and is even FirstNet-ready to meet the needs of first responder agencies,” said Forward Thinking System CEO David Isler. “This is an enterprise-class solution that requires minimal investment in additional hardware to be ELD-compliant.”

“We designed our NetCloud service to be open and easily integrated with leading industry solutions that span branch, mobile, and IoT use cases,” said Eric Purcell, a Senior Vice President at Cradlepoint. “We are excited to have Forward Thinking Systems leverage this capability to develop an integrated solution that helps our customers stay compliant with the ELD mandate without having to make expensive upgrades to their current equipment.”

Cradlepoint customers with compatible IBR-series mobile routers can take advantage Forward Thinking’s new solution to comply with the ELD mandate before the December 16, 2019 deadline. The solution meets FMCSA’s required parameters, collecting information on the vehicle’s VIN, odometer reading, engine hours, speed, and a list of other critical data points.

Forward Thinking Systems is an international provider of innovative fleet tracking and management solutions that improve safety and productivity. FTS products include Route Matrix®, which streamlines dispatch services and creates the most efficient routes; Road Angel®, which provides 24/7 roadside assistance to fleet vehicles; and FleetCam® AI, one of the most advanced collision prevention systems on the market that helps drivers avoid crashes and distractions while providing a real-time streaming view of everything in and around the vehicle.
