  • Former Sony Exec Says Obama Called Him After the Big Hack to Trash ‘The Interview’

    [ad_1]

Post-presidency, Obama has remained relatively tapped out of current events and politics. Outside of a few rare, emergency exceptions where he felt it necessary to get back into the weeds—like the threat of NBA players striking or Bernie Sanders winning the Democratic primary—he’s mostly laid low and let our current elected officials cook. His plate’s been full enough getting that spooky presidential library built, meticulously hand-crafting those end-of-year fav lists we all love, and spilling ET tea on podcasts. And of course, there’s also the production company that he runs with Michelle that puts out bangers like the AARP Movies for Grownups Award nominee Leave the World Behind (2023).

Before he was fully Hollywood Barack, he was merely President Barack who quietly aspired to get in on Tinseltown wheelings and dealings. However, hints of his future media mogul aspirations were there all along. One such example is reportedly in the pages of a forthcoming memoir by former Sony Pictures Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton (and co-author Joshua L. Steiner). In From Mistakes to Meaning: Owning Your Past So It Doesn’t Own You, Lynton recalls an unexpected interaction with the then-sitting president that took place right after the infamous mid-aughts hack by an alleged North Korean operative that hit Sony and threatened to bring the whole studio down.

Let’s properly set the scene for Lynton’s anecdote.

INT. SONY PICTURES CEO’S OFFICE – JULY 2015 – NIGHT

MICHAEL LYNTON, 55, sits at his desk, still cleaning up the mess left by hacker group “Guardians of Peace” eight months later. After breaching Sony’s network and melting 70 percent of the studio’s servers, they made off with a trove of sensitive data, including unfinished scripts for unannounced films and 47,000 Social Security numbers. Making matters worse were the emails they later leaked, which resulted in Amy Pascal’s exodus and strained relationships with talent. And all this over some dumb Seth Rogen comedy about assassinating Kim Jong Il.

    MICHAEL
I can’t even with these hackers. They’ve taken my studio from Gucci to ratchet.

Suddenly, Michael’s phone lights up, announcing an unknown caller.

As Lynton’s book explains, he and the rest of the world had just learned of North Korea being the likely culprit behind the hacks and the production of “The Interview” being a motivating factor, when the President deigned to give him an earful.

“What were you thinking when you made killing the leader of a hostile foreign nation a plot point? Of course, that was a mistake,” chided Obama.

Living up to the title of his book, Lynton makes no bones about regretting greenlighting that film in a way that inadvertently adds some funny context to Rogen’s current series, The Studio, where he stars as a bumbling, validation-seeking studio executive.

“I wanted to join the badass gang that made subversive movies. For a moment, I wanted to hang—as an equal—with the actors,” said Lynton. “The party got out of hand, and the company, its employees, my family, and I all paid dearly.”

Sobering words, but that past does indeed seem owned. And who among us doesn’t have a few past mistakes that need owning? Whether you didn’t properly show up in a relationship or just bailed out the banks responsible for the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, it’s never too late for a mea culpa. Lynton’s book hits bookstore shelves on Feb. 24 if you or anyone else in your life could use a little guidance.

  • Leading High Volatility Crypto Plinko Sites in 2026

    [ad_1]

The current image has no alternative text. The file name is: image-2.jpeg

Plinko’s appeal lies in its blend of simplicity and thrill. The game’s mechanics are easy to understand, but its high-volatility outcomes make it electrifying for players who enjoy rapid swings and big potential payouts. In the crypto gaming world, high-volatility games like Plinko have found a natural home, since digital assets can move quickly and players often relish fast rounds with dynamic results.

For high-volatility enthusiasts, choosing the right platform makes all the difference. Not all crypto Plinko offerings are designed the same, some emphasize casual play and low risk, while others embrace high variance with bigger multipliers and faster action. In 2026, the best high-volatility Plinko platforms combine aggressive payout potential with strong security, reliable crypto payouts, and transparent fairness.

Below are the top crypto Plinko sites for players who seek high volatility, high adrenaline, and big rewards, platforms that strike the ideal balance between excitement and trustworthiness.

What “High Volatility” Means in Plinko

Volatility refers to how much and how frequently outcomes swing. A high-volatility Plinko version typically offers:

    1. Large multipliers that can dramatically amplify stakes
    2. Wide payout ranges
    3. Unpredictable results that reward bold strategies
    4. Short bursts of gameplay that deliver rapid feedback

For players who want the excitement of fast pace and big potential wins, high-volatility Plinko is a natural fit. It does carry risk, swings can be sudden, but for many crypto gamers, the adrenaline adds to the appeal.

    1. Stake

Stake has firmly established itself as the go-to destination for players seeking high-volatility Plinko. What sets Stake apart is its combination of award-winning gameplay design, transparent mechanics, and the right balance of reward potential and fairness.

Stake’s Plinko variants are engineered with volatility in mind. The payout curves offer deep multipliers that reward risk-taking, with controlled randomness that keeps every drop exciting. Players looking for big swings find that Stake consistently delivers opportunities for explosive results without compromising fairness or trust.

Another major advantage is Stake’s multi-crypto support. Whether players prefer to wager in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, or stablecoins like USDT and USDC, Stake offers flexible funding options that let them tailor their bankroll and risk approach. This is important for high-volatility players, the ability to choose a coin with preferred fee and confirmation speeds enhances strategy and cash-flow control.

Stake’s provably fair system adds another layer of credibility. High-variance games can raise questions about fairness, but Stake gives players transparent access to algorithms and outcome mechanics so they can verify results independently. This level of clarity builds confidence, especially in high-stakes, high-volatility sessions.

The platform’s overall performance is also worth noting. Stake’s interface is responsive and visually intuitive, and its mobile performance matches desktop quality, which matters for players who enjoy action on the go. Speedy withdrawal processing, clear bet controls, and transparent terms round out a high-volatility Plinko experience that is as exciting as it is trustworthy.

For players who want maximum thrill paired with professional execution and multi-crypto flexibility, Stake remains the top choice in 2026.

    2. BC.Game

BC.Game is known for its vibrant, community-focused experience and strong high-variance Plinko options. Its games often feature wide multiplier bands, allowing players who enjoy pushing for maximum returns to engage with bold strategies.

BC.Game’s bonus features also support aggressive play, including periodic free plays and match incentives that can cushion risk while amplifying reward potential. Its support for several cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and popular altcoins, gives players choice and control over bankroll handling.

While BC.Game’s overall volatility profile might vary by specific Plinko variant, players who relish big swings and dynamic outcomes generally find its offerings exciting and engaging.

    3. Roobet

Roobet has gained popularity for its straightforward design and high-impact Plinko gameplay. Its high-volatility Plinko versions appeal to players who want clean, fast games without layered complexity.

Roobet’s strength lies in its focused approach. The interface is intuitive, the betting ranges are broad, and outcomes can swing dramatically, offering high-variance players plenty of charge. Crypto support is solid across major coins, and wallet integration is simple and secure.

Players looking for rapid rounds with potential for big payouts often gravitate toward Roobet for its balance of simplicity and high volatility.

    4. Duelbits

Duelbits has carved out a niche in the high-volatility Plinko space by emphasizing performance and bold plays. Its Plinko variants encourage aggressive betting strategies, with multiplier structures that reward risk takers.

The platform’s bonus ecosystem also adds value, offering free rounds, loyalty incentives, and match offers that can be applied toward high-volatility play. Duelbits supports a range of cryptocurrencies, giving players flexibility over fees and network speed.

While individual limits might not reach the depth of bigger platforms, Duelbits’ design makes it compelling for players focused on thrill and dynamic outcomes.

    5. Primedice

Primedice is known for its minimalist, performance-centric approach to crypto gaming, and its Plinko offerings reflect that philosophy. The game environment is stripped of unnecessary clutter, putting the focus squarely on the action and volatility.

Primedice supports core cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and a few others, and its Plinko mechanics often deliver high multiplier potential. This appeals to seasoned players who value speed and unencumbered gameplay.

    6. CryptoGames

CryptoGames offers a suite of lightweight, high-variance Plinko games with provably fair mechanics and straightforward interfaces. Its multiplier structures support bold wagering styles, and its provably fair system adds credibility, which is important in high-variance contexts.

While its game library is smaller than some competitors, the experience remains tight, fast, and volatility-rich, ideal for players who enjoy frequent, dynamic outcomes.

    7. CryptoPlinko.io

CryptoPlinko.io is one of the platforms built around the Plinko experience itself, with versions designed to emphasize high variance and big payout potential. Its multiplier curves can reach aggressive levels, appealing to players seeking pronounced swings and big upside.

The site’s narrower scope, focused specifically on Plinko mechanics, gives players a specialized environment where volatility and outcome dynamics are front and center.

    8. Wild.io

Wild.io has grown quickly by offering crypto gaming environments that emphasize performance and immersive visuals. Its Plinko variants often feature high-volatility parameters that appeal to players who want big outcomes and rapid action.

While Wild.io’s broader ecosystem still evolves, its Plinko performance and high-variance orientation make it a worthwhile choice for thrill-seekers.

    9. Plinko-Games.com

Plinko-Games.com is another site dedicated to Plinko variants with strong multiplier potential. Its design is streamlined, and the volatility profiles of its versions are tailored to players who enjoy larger swings and aggressive plays.

Although its feature set is more focused than full-service casinos, it remains a strong option for players whose priority is high-variance Plinko action.

    10. Primedrop

Primedrop integrates drop mechanics inspired by Plinko with high-variance payout curves that deliver moment-to-moment excitement. Its specialized approach gives players a different flavor of volatility while still aligning with risk-oriented dynamics.

Crypto support covers the core assets players expect, and the outcomes are transparent and engaging for thrill-oriented users.

Why High Volatility Matters for Plinko Players

High volatility isn’t just about big wins and losses, it’s about experience. Players who crave active engagement and the psychological payoff of big outcomes find that high-volatility Plinko delivers a rush that steady games don’t. Wide multiplier ranges and rapid rounds create unpredictable sessions that reward both strategy and nerve.

However, volatility comes with risk. Smart players balance it with bankroll management and take advantage of bonuses that cushion risk while amplifying upside. That’s why platform quality matters as much as game design.

Crypto Plinko has become an electrifying game category in 2026, and the high-volatility versions appeal to players who want fast action and big outcomes. Several platforms have embraced this style with strong mechanics, broad crypto support, and trustworthy environments.

Among them, Stake stands out as the most complete destination for high-volatility players. Its combination of deep multiplier potential, transparent provably fair systems, multi-crypto flexibility, and responsive performance make it the best overall option for adrenaline-seeking Plinko fans.

Other platforms like BC.Game, Roobet, and Duelbits also deliver compelling high-variance experiences, each with its own strengths in interface, crypto support, or bonus ecosystems.

For players who value rapid rounds, bold strategies, and thrilling outcomes, the platforms above represent the best high-volatility crypto Plinko experiences in 2026.

  • Xbox head Phil Spencer is leaving Microsoft

    [ad_1]

Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, is retiring, Satya Nadella has announced. Asha Sharma, the President of Microsoft’s CoreAI division is taking over Spencer’s role, while Sarah Bond, the current President of Xbox, is resigning.

“I am long on gaming and its role at the center of our consumer ambition, and as we look ahead, I’m excited to share that Asha Sharma will become Executive Vice President and CEO, Microsoft Gaming, reporting to me,” Nadella says. “Over the last two years at Microsoft, and previously as Chief Operating Officer at Instacart and a Vice President at Meta, Asha has helped build and scale services that reach billions of people and support thriving consumer and developer ecosystems. She brings deep experience building and growing platforms, aligning business models to long-term value, and operating at global scale, which will be critical in leading our gaming business into its next era of growth.”

In a thread on X, Spencer shared his thoughts on Sharma’s new position. “I’m excited for [Asha Sharma] as she steps into the CEO role,” Spencer wrote. “She’s joining an incredible group of people; teams full of talent, heart, and a deep commitment to the players they serve. Watching her lean in with curiosity and a real desire to strengthen the foundation we’ve built gives me confidence that our Xbox communities will be well supported in the years ahead.”

Alongside Sharma, Matt Booty, the current head of Xbox Game Studios, is getting promoted to Chief Content Officer, and will report to Sharma. Sarah Bond, who like Spencer served as a public face for the Xbox brand and was assumed to be his successor, is leaving Microsoft to “begin a new chapter.” Bond has yet to make a public statement about her resignation.

Spencer joined Microsoft in 1988, and has worked on Xbox since at least 2001. He assumed responsibility for Microsoft’s gaming brand and its various studios and associated subscription products in 2013, before becoming an Executive VP of Gaming in 2017 and later CEO of Microsoft Gaming in 2022. Spencer’s biggest impact on Xbox will likely be remembered as the creation of Game Pass, Microsoft’s “Netflix for Games” and the wave of studio acquisitions Microsoft completed from 2018 to 2022, which included smaller studios like Double Fine and the massive $68.7 billion purchase of Activision Blizzard King.

While Microsoft has plenty of developers and IP to fall back on, it’s struggled to compete with the likes of Sony and Nintendo during the current console generation. Microsoft’s gaming division has gone through widespread layoffs, its revenue continued to fall throughout 2025 and it raised the prices of both its consoles and Game Pass Ultimate, which likely won’t help things going forward. Sharma is in many ways inheriting a broken-down car.

As far as her plans go, Sharma’s email to staff that was included in Nadella’s announcement is light on details. Sharma says she plans to continue developing “great games,” wants to “recommit” to core Xbox fans and “invent new business models and new ways to play.” Whether that’s enough to turn Xbox’s fortunes around remains to be seen.

Update, February 20, 4:52PM ET: Added statement from Phil Spencer shared on X.

  • Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026: The Galaxy S26 and other devices that might launch on February 25

    [ad_1]

Samsung’s 2025 was filled with new foldables, an ultra-thin new form factor and the launch of Google’s XR platform. After making some announcements at CES 2026, the company has announced its first Galaxy Unpacked of the year will take place on February 25, where it is expected to introduce the Galaxy S26 lineup. Official invites have been shared, but actual information on what devices are arriving then is still not completely confirmed. But as usual, we know a lot about what’s expected at Unpacked.

Engadget will be covering Galaxy Unpacked live from San Francisco next week, and we’ll most likely have hands-on coverage of Samsung’s new smartphones soon after they’re announced. While we wait for the full details, here’s everything we expect Samsung will introduce at the first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2026.

When is Unpacked 2026 taking place?

According to the official invite that Samsung shared on February 10, Unpacked will happen on February 25, 2026 in San Francisco. The keynote will start at 10AM PT (1PM ET) and be livestreamed on Samsung.com, as well as the company’s newsroom and YouTube channel. The announcement on February 10 also said this launch will mark “a new phase in the era of AI as intelligence becomes truly personal and adaptive.” It’s not a lot to go on, since we’ve heard a version of this from various companies over the last few years, but at least we won’t be shocked when we hear more about AI in just about two weeks.

    Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra hands-on photo (Photo by Sam Rutherford/Engadget)

Samsung’s restrained approach to updating its phones will likely continue with the Galaxy S26. Based on leaked images of the new lineup, the company is not expected to radically reinvent the look of the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ or Galaxy S26 Ultra, and instead will stick with a similar design to what it used on the Galaxy S25. The phones will have a flat front screen and frame, with rounded corners and cameras housed in a vertical pill-shaped plateau on the back. Unlike Apple’s move from the iPhone 16 Pro to the iPhone 17 Pro, the biggest difference here will likely be internal components like the screens, chips and camera sensors Samsung uses.

Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip is expected to be in all Samsung Galaxy S26 phones, though Korean news site Yonhap News reports Samsung’s relatively new Exynos 2600 chip could be used in some phones in the lineup depending on the region, a strategy Samsung has deployed in the past. Either way the new phones should be more performant than the previous generation, and in the case of the models with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, particularly good at on-device AI processing.

One notable difference between the Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S25 could be the phone’s screen. The new phone will reportedly feature a 6.3-inch FHD+ display according to specs shared by leaker Ice Universe, which makes it ever so slightly larger than the 6.2-inch display used on the Galaxy S25. The S26 will also allegedly come with 12GB of RAM, either 256GB or 512GB of storage and a slightly larger 4,300mAh battery. Samsung isn’t changing the cameras on the entry-level phone, though: leaks suggest it’ll feature the same 50-megapixel main camera, 12-megapixel ultrawide, 10-megapixel 3x telephoto and 12-megapixel selfie camera as the previous generation. Changes appear to be even more minor on the Galaxy S26+. Other than the new Snapdragon chip, the phone will reportedly feature the same 6.7-inch FHD+ screen, 4,900mAh battery, 12GB of RAM and the same camera array used on the base Galaxy S26.

The difference between the Galaxy S26 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Ultra is reportedly a bit clearer. According to Android Headlines, the new phone’s cameras will be slightly more raised, and stand out thanks to a new metallic finish. Samsung may also switch back to using an aluminum frame on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, after using titanium frames on both the Galaxy S24 and S25 Ultras. Most importantly, to make the phone actually support Qi2 rather than only technically work with the standard when a case is attached, rumors suggest Samsung will remove the S Pen digitizer layer in the phone and adopt a new method for accepting stylus input. It’s not clear what that new method will actually be, but it could let the Galaxy S26 Ultra more easily work with Qi2 accessories without losing its stylus.

Android Headlines also recently shared what appear to be full image renders of the S26 series, and they generally line up with what has already been rumored, leaked and reported so far. If these pictures are accurate, they give us a clearer look at the camera bump and two color variants of the S26 Ultra.

Fans of magnets may continue to be disappointed by Samsung if the latest rumors are accurate. Despite the launch of the Qi 2 wireless charging standard adding support for convenient magnetic alignment years ago, Samsung has yet to bring that feature to its phones. Though the S-series have the higher speed charging rates that the spec enables, Nieuwemobiel.nl is reporting that, due to images it received of cases with magnetic rings, the S26 series likely won’t have built-in magnets. Samsung has made these cases to add the magnetic capability to its S-series in the past, and the existence of the images of these accessories lends weight to the idea that the company will continue this approach.

    Galaxy Buds 4

Galaxy Buds 3 Pro in case.

Galaxy Buds 3 Pro in case. (Engadget)

Samsung released the Galaxy Buds 3 and 3 Pro in 2024, with a major redesign that brought them much more in line with Apple’s AirPods. The Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro Samsung is rumored to be announcing soon won’t necessarily change that, though they will feature a more compact case and less angular stems, according to leaked images from the Samsung Tips app.

Support for head gestures to accept and decline calls, a feature Apple includes on the AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods 4, is also rumored to work on both versions of the new Galaxy Buds. SamMobile reports the Galaxy Buds 4 and 4 Pro may also ship with a new Ultra Wideband chip that will make them easier to find with Google’s Find Hub network.

    Galaxy Z Trifold

Yes, the TriFold has a crease, two in fact. But they still don't ruin the experience.

Yes, the TriFold has a crease, two in fact. But they still don’t ruin the experience. (Sam Rutherford for Engadget)

Samsung announced the Galaxy Z TriFold in late 2025 without firm details of when the new smartphone-that-folds-into-a-tablet would be available in North America. That info came on January 27, when the company announced the TriFold would be available in the US on January 30, for a whopping $2,900. Considering we’ve already seen the device in person at CES 2026 and people are most likely to have had a chance to look at, if not buy the foldable for themselves by the time Unpacked rolls around, we don’t expect Samsung to spend too much time dwelling on it, if at all.

    Galaxy S26 Edge

At just 5.8mm thick, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is one of the thinnest smartphones ever made.

At just 5.8mm thick, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is one of the thinnest smartphones ever made. (Sam Rutherford for Engadget)

When the Galaxy S25 Edge was announced in 2025, it seemed possible that Samsung could replace its “Plus” smartphone with a unique form factor, just like Apple has opted to do with the iPhone Air. There have been conflicting reports on the matter, but it seems like Samsung will not be doing that with the Galaxy S26 Edge.

Instead, the smartphone will reportedly remain another option, much like foldables are for customers not swayed by Samsung’s traditional smartphones. The Galaxy S26 Edge is rumored to feature a slightly different design than last year’s model, according to Android Headlines, with a large rectangular camera plateau that’s reminiscent of Google’s Pixel phones, and the raised oval Apple used on the iPhone Air. Beyond that, the phone is also expected to be ever so slightly thinner at 5.5mm than the 5.8mm Galaxy S25 Edge.

    Bixby and other AI features

    undefined

Samsung already acts as a first place Google can show off new AI features for Android, but the company is reportedly exploring other AI partnerships, too. In June 2025, Bloomberg reported that Samsung was nearing a deal with Perplexity to integrate its AI-powered search engine across OneUI and its homegrown mobile browser. Perplexity already has a deal with Motorola on its Razr phones, so the only thing that would make a deal with Samsung unusual is the close relationship the company already has with Google.

The company also accidentally announced a new version of its Bixby AI assistant, which will likely also be integrated with Perplexity and could serve as an alternative to Google Gemini. Both a new Bixby and a deeper integration with Perplexity seem like natural new software features to show off at Galaxy Unpacked.

On February 17, Samsung teased some mobile AI photography features ahead of Unpacked. These expand the S-series’ existing image-editing tools by bringing the ability “to turn a photo from day to night in seconds, restore missing parts of objects in images, capture detailed photos in low light, and seamlessly merge multiple photos into a single, cohesive result.” A lot of these things are already possible in other photo-editing apps or even in the Google Photos app, but we’ll have to wait to see them in action on the S26 phones for more details on whether they’re different or more effective.

  • All the Toys From ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ We Now Want, But Probably Won’t Get

    [ad_1]

Few franchises in history have as rich a connection to their toys as Star Wars. It’s why, whenever a new Star Wars project is announced, the reveal of its toys can be such a big deal.

In recent days, fans not only got a new trailer for the latest Star Wars movie, The Mandalorian and Grogu, but also a reveal of its first wave of toys. The disconnect, however, was that the toys were largely based on things we saw in the first trailer, and now we’re wondering which characters, if at all, we’ll get toys of from the second trailer. Especially since Star Wars toys do not come out as frequently or as rapidly as they have in the past.

Below, we’re going to break it down. We’ve got The Mandalorian and Grogu toys we’re definitely getting, and then 11 that we either probably will or probably won’t, for various reasons.

    © Hasbro

    We’re definitely getting these toys…

The Mandalorian and Grogu – Of course. They’re the main characters in the film. Obviously, their toys would be the first onto shelves. Also, there have been several toys of each character over the past few years, so making them is not a difficult task.

Colonel Ward, played by Sigourney Weaver – Weaver’s character was in the first trailer, so it’s no surprise that she’s in the first wave. Plus, was Lucasfilm really going to deny fans the Alien/Star Wars crossover possibilities?

Rotta the Hutt – This one is a little shocking. Everyone’s favorite “Swole Hutt,” voiced by Jeremy Allen White, is a character we’ve never seen as a toy. Hutts are usually big and gross, but Rotta is jacked. It requires the toy manufacturers to do a whole new sculpt, which is not always something that happens. Case in point, there are often more Stormtrooper figures out there these days than main characters

Zeb Orrelios – The Star Wars Rebels star appeared briefly in some live-action projects, but now, finally, he gets his full due here. Toys are already on the way, as they should be.

Grogu with armor – The new trailer reveals how, at least in one case, Grogu will wear his large, beskar insignia outside of his robes. That feels like a very easy variant to make, so, of course, it’s already on the way.

Star Wars Mandalorian Grogu Martin Scorsese
Martin Scorsese’s character in The Mandalorian and Grogu – Lucasfilm

    We’ll probably get these toys…

Red Astromech – No, that’s not R2-D2. The new trailer has a brief shot of a red astromech droid rolling up to an X-Wing, and though we don’t know whose droid this is, again, it feels like a very easy reskin of previous astromech droids. So we’d imagine that comes out too.

Martin Scorsese – Arguably the biggest reveal in the latest Mandalorian and Grogu trailer is that legendary director Martin Scorsese is voicing an Ardennian character in the film. It’s unclear how large his role is, but Ardennian toys were made for Solo, so it wouldn’t be too much work for manufacturers to tweak that.

EmboThe Clone Wars bounty hunter was a pretty big reveal in the latest trailer, and since he’s a character that has been around a while in animation, it would be a pretty huge miss to not put out some toys. You have to assume they’re coming, right? Right? (Insert Anakin and Padmé meme here.)

Bigfoot Mouse Droid – Surely there’s a real name for it, but if ever there was a Star Wars item made to become a toy, it’s the all-terrain mouse droid that Grogu explodes in the trailer. There’s no guarantee it’s released, but it feels like it should.

    Mandalorian Grogu Snake Dragon
What is this gorgeous creature in The Mandalorian and Grogu? – Lucasfilm

We’re probably not getting these toys…

The Twins – We didn’t get toys of the Twins when they first appeared in The Book of Boba Fett; why would we get them now? Oh, sure, there’s also the small problem of them just becoming two huge blobs of plastic, so maybe they’re not the most appealing toys, but we think they’d be cool to have.

Baby Rodian with Speed Pram – There is a baby Rodian (affectionately called “Baby Greedo” by some) in the film, so you’d imagine a toy version would be a no-brainer. Especially since the character has an apparently superpowered baby pram that Grogu takes. However, we have a feeling this is a character that only shows up for a second, so while we’d love to put them on our shelf, we aren’t holding our breath.

Dejarik characters – Something The Mandalorian and Grogu is doing for the first time is bringing characters from Dejarik, the holo-chess game first played in A New Hope, to life. The latest trailer shows a Mantellian Savrip ripping off a door, and while it would be super cool to see these as toys, we imagine these characters are large, hard to get right, and not prominent enough to make. Even if it would be amazing to try and create a live-action Dejarik board.

The Dragonsnake – Undoubtedly, the coolest moment in the new trailer is the reveal of Din Djarin standing opposite a mysterious white dragonsnake. We’ll find out eventually if these are the same species that appeared in The Clone Wars, but, as gorgeous as this design is, and as much as we’d love to display one, it doesn’t seem very toy-friendly.

The Anzellan Coaster – For a brief moment in the trailer, we get a look at Grogu riding in a vehicle piloted by three Anzellans, the same species as Babu Frik. There are plenty of Anzellan toys, but we are talking about a package deal with three of them, Grogu, and a vehicle. It would be awesome but is probably a bit much.

Pessimistic mystery species – We don’t yet know the specific species name of this character, but in the trailer, he’s the one who says to Grogu, “Are you scared? You should be.” He’s not quite a Dug. Not quite a Hysalrian. We’ve reached out to Lucasfilm to clarify. But, since it’s not something that’s immediately recognizable, we sincerely doubt toys are coming.

  • West Virginia Sues Apple Over iCloud CSAM Allegations And Encryption Privacy

    [ad_1]

According to a lawsuit brought by West Virginia Attorney General JB McCuskey, Apple has permitted iCloud to develop into a platform for the distribution and storage of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Apple has allegedly put its privacy branding ahead of its child safety responsibilities for years, according to the complaint, which was submitted to the Circuit Court of Mason County.

The lawsuit makes reference to purported internal iMessage conversations between Apple executives in 2020. During these discussions, Apple executive Eric Friedman allegedly voiced worries that the company was understating the extent of CSAM on its platforms. Friedman allegedly stated that Apple had “chosen not to know” the full extent of the problem in some areas, but he also called iCloud a significant platform for such material, according to the filing.

Additionally, in 2023, the Attorney General pointed out a glaring discrepancy in the numbers reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Google and Meta reported 1.47 million and 30.6 million cases of detected CSAM during that time, respectively, while Apple reported 267 cases.

Central to the legal challenge is Apple’s Advanced Data Protection, which provides end-to-end encryption for iCloud photos and videos. The lawsuit contends that this encryption acts as an insurmountable barrier for law enforcement attempting to identify and prosecute offenders.

Apple defended its position, stating that “safety and privacy” are core to its product decisions. The company pointed to features like Communication Safety, which uses on-device processing to detect nudity in messages sent to minors. However, critics argue these measures do not address the storage and distribution activities of adult predators.

This filing follows other recent legal actions, including a 2024 class-action lawsuit in California and a specific case in North Carolina. While privacy advocates, such as the Electronic Frontier Foundation, argue that mandatory scanning and weakened encryption would compromise the security of all users, this lawsuit demands that Apple implement more aggressive detection tools and increase its reporting transparency.

  • Ubisoft lays off 40 staff working on Splinter Cell remake, says game remains in development

    [ad_1]

It has already been a depressingly busy year for layoffs at Ubisoft, and the French publisher’s Toronto studio is the latest workforce to be hit. Around 40 jobs have been cut at the studio, which is one of Ubisoft’s largest and has previously worked on games including Watch Dogs: Legion and Far Cry 6.

“This decision was not taken lightly and does not in any way reflect the talent, dedication, or contributions of the individuals affected,” Ubisoft said in a statement to , which first reported the new layoffs. “Our priority now is to support them through this transition with comprehensive severance packages and robust career placement assistance.”

Ubisoft Toronto is currently working on the long-awaited Splinter Cell remake, which was first in 2021. The publisher says the game remains in development, and the Canadian studio will continue to assist with development on other games.

The Toronto layoffs come after similar staff cuts at its studios, while up to 200 people could reportedly be let go at its headquarters. The affected roles are casualties of a wider organizational restructuring at the troubled company, which recently canceled another high-profile in The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Last week, 1,200 Ubisoft employees went on in reaction to the recent layoffs and sweeping cost-cutting measures.

  • What is Seedance and why does it have Hollywood spooked? – Tech Digest

    [ad_1]

    Share

    Seedance 2.0. Image: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUKpIVaU12A

In February 2026, the release of Seedance 2.0 marked a significant shift in the generative AI landscape.

Developed by ByteDance, the model has gained international attention for its ability to generate high-fidelity video content that challenges traditional production methods. Its arrival has prompted immediate reactions from major media organizations and industry bodies regarding copyright and the protection of digital likeness.

What is it and who developed it?

Seedance is a generative AI video model developed by the Chinese technology giant ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok. The 2.0 version, launched in early 2026, is an evolution of ByteDance’s “Seed” ecosystem of foundation models. It is currently integrated into ByteDance’s creative suite, including Jianying, the Chinese counterpart to the video-editing app CapCut.

    What are its technical capabilities?

Seedance 2.0 is capable of generating hyper-realistic video clips up to 15 seconds long. Unlike previous models that relied solely on text-to-video, this model utilizes a multimodal “@ reference system.” This allows creators to provide specific anchors for the AI to follow, including:

    • Face Reference: Users can upload a photo to ensure a character’s face remains consistent across different scenes.

    • Motion Reference: A separate video can be used to dictate specific choreography or physical movements.

    • Audio Integration: The AI can synchronize visual movements with provided audio tracks.

By using these specific references, the tool solves the “consistency problem” that previously plagued AI video, where characters’ features would often drift or change between frames.

Why is the film industry concerned?

The primary concern for the film industry is the precision with which Seedance can replicate the likeness of established actors. Shortly after its launch, a viral video surfaced showing Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in a cinematic sequence. The realism of these “digital twins” was high enough to spark a swift response from industry unions and advocacy groups.

    Legal and Ethical Issues:

    • Consent and Likeness: Labour union SAG-AFTRA has raised alarms over the ease with which the tool can infringe on an actor’s right of publicity. The union argues that the ability to generate a performance without the actor’s physical presence or consent threatens the livelihood of human performers.

    • Copyright Infringement: The Motion Picture Association (MPA), representing studios like Disney and Paramount, has alleged that ByteDance likely trained the model on vast amounts of copyrighted film and television content without authorization. Legal representatives for Disney and Paramount have reportedly issued cease-and-desist notices to address these training data concerns.

    What is the broader impact?

The tension surrounding Seedance 2.0 highlights the widening gap between rapid technological advances and existing legal frameworks. While ByteDance has stated it intends to implement safeguards and respect intellectual property, the efficiency of the tool is undeniable.

Production analysts estimate that while a traditional visual effects shot can cost thousands of dollars, a Seedance-generated clip costs less than a dollar. This economic shift, combined with the technical ability to maintain character consistency, is forcing a fundamental reassessment of how digital content is protected and produced globally.

  • Samsung’s Last-Minute Galaxy Buds 4 Pro Change: What You Need to Know

    [ad_1]

Samsung will launch the new  Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro at their Samsung Unpacked event on the 25th of February. The new headphones will combine sleek design with advanced functionality. These earbuds maintain the pricing of their predecessors while introducing a range of enhancements aimed at improving user experience and performance. A notable change is the removal of the speaker grill on the charging case, initially anticipated to support sound-based location tracking. Despite this adjustment, the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro continues to deliver a balance of practicality and innovative technology, catering to diverse user preferences. The video below from Techtics gives us more details about the new Galaxy Buds 4 Pro.

Charging Case: Enhanced Design for Functionality and Precision

The charging case for the Galaxy Buds 4 series has been reimagined with a focus on practicality. Samsung has transitioned from a vertical to a horizontal docking layout, making the case more compact and easier to handle. This design change enhances portability and ensures the earbuds are securely stored. The transparent lid, a feature retained from earlier models, allows users to quickly check the earbuds’ status without opening the case, adding a layer of convenience.

Although the speaker grill, originally intended for sound-based location tracking, has been removed, the case now incorporates Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology for precise location tracking. This ensures users can locate the case with accuracy, maintaining functionality despite the design revision. The combination of a refined layout and advanced tracking technology underscores Samsung’s commitment to user-centric design.

Earbud Design: Comfort Meets Advanced Performance

The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro is crafted with silicone ear tips, providing a snug and secure fit that enhances noise isolation and overall comfort. This design is particularly suited for users seeking an immersive audio experience, whether during commutes, workouts, or leisure activities. In contrast, the standard Galaxy Buds 4 features a semi-open fit, catering to those who prefer a lighter and less intrusive feel.

The Pro model also introduces improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), effectively minimizing ambient noise to deliver a focused and uninterrupted listening experience. This feature is complemented by enhanced water resistance, making the earbuds more durable and suitable for users with active lifestyles. These design elements reflect Samsung’s effort to balance comfort, functionality, and durability.

Innovative Features: Advanced Controls and Real-Time Translation

Samsung has integrated a range of innovative features into the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, enhancing usability and convenience. One standout addition is head gesture controls, which allow users to perform actions such as answering calls with a simple nod. This hands-free functionality is particularly beneficial in situations where manual interaction is impractical, such as during workouts or while multitasking.

Another notable feature is the interpreter mode, activated through a pinch-and-hold gesture. This mode provides real-time language translation, making the earbuds an invaluable tool for travelers and multilingual users. By combining intuitive controls with practical applications, Samsung has positioned the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro as a versatile accessory for modern lifestyles.

Battery Life: Extended Performance for Everyday Use

Battery life is a critical aspect of any wireless earbud, and the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro delivers notable improvements in this area. The Pro model offers approximately two additional hours of playback compared to its predecessor, reducing the need for frequent recharging. This enhancement ensures that features like ANC and gesture controls can be used throughout the day without compromising performance.

The extended battery life aligns with the earbuds’ focus on convenience and reliability, making them a practical choice for users who require consistent performance during long commutes, workdays, or travel. This improvement highlights Samsung’s dedication to addressing user needs and enhancing the overall experience.

Refined Aesthetics: Minimalism and Modern Appeal

Samsung has embraced a minimalist design philosophy with the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, focusing on simplicity and elegance. The removal of the blade lights from previous models results in a cleaner and more streamlined appearance, aligning with contemporary design trends. This refined aesthetic enhances the earbuds’ visual appeal while maintaining their functionality.

The compact and lightweight design ensures portability, making the earbuds easy to carry and use in various settings. By combining modern aesthetics with practical features, Samsung has created a product that is both stylish and versatile, appealing to a wide range of users.

    Pricing and Availability

The Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are expected to be priced at €179 and €249, respectively, maintaining the same pricing as the previous generation. This decision ensures the earbuds remain competitive in the market while offering enhanced features and functionality. The official launch is scheduled for February 25, 2026, coinciding with the release of the Galaxy S26 series. This strategic timing highlights Samsung’s commitment to delivering a cohesive ecosystem of devices.

Key Takeaways on the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro represent a thoughtful evolution in wireless earbud design and functionality. From the practical horizontal docking layout of the charging case to advanced features like head gesture controls and real-time translation, these earbuds cater to a diverse range of user needs. While the removal of sound-based location tracking may be a minor drawback for some, the inclusion of UWB precision finding ensures efficient case location.

With competitive pricing, extended battery life, and a focus on innovation, the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro stand out as a compelling choice in the wireless earbud market. Whether you prioritize comfort, advanced features, or modern aesthetics, these earbuds offer a well-rounded package that aligns with the demands of today’s users.

  • Chevron defines 2025 with retail network and social investment growth

    [ad_1]

Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer of Caltex and lubricants, went the extra mile in 2025, achieving success across its nationwide site expansion, new strategic partnerships, and social initiatives.

The year also marked Pongtorn “Bon” Tangmanuswong as its newest general manager and country chairman. Fresh from his stint as Chevron Cambodia’s top executive, Tangmanuswong brings 17 years of leadership experience across the brand’s Asia-Pacific markets to the role. He said, “In 2025, I learned more about the Philippines’ dynamic fuel market and what we can do to unleash its untapped potential. This year’s direction will be shaped by our 109-year legacy in the Philippines and our commitment to innovation and sustainability.”

    Continued Nationwide Site Expansion

CPI also continued to expand its retail sites in key areas around the Philippines, opening 18 new service stations nationwide. This includes sites in Laoag City in Ilocos Norte, Balaoan in La Union, Makati, Tagaytay, Puerto Princesa in Palawan, and Bacolod.

CPI also opened a total of 75 Caltex Havoline Autopro and Bikepro workshops in 2025, bringing the nationwide network to over 500 locations. Through this, more Filipino motorists can avail of Caltex’s 22 different maintenance services performed by expert mechanics.

Throughout 2025, Chevron’s strategy ensured that the new sites were close to urban hubs, major highways, and landmarks. This is a testament to Chevron’s commitment to providing Filipinos with premium customer experience brought by Caltex’s unbeatable fuels and reliable maintenance services.

    Caltex Balaoan La Union

New and sustained partnerships for improved fuel services

CPI also inked new partnerships and maintained strong relationships with stakeholders that can help the brand improve its services in the Philippines. For starters, it renewed its mutually beneficial lease agreements with Batangas Land Company, Inc. (BLC) for the lease of BLC properties in San Pascual, Batangas; Lapu-Lapu, Cebu; San Fernando (Poro), La Union; and Sasa, Davao City. This way, the brand can continue providing fuel services to nearby communities.

Caltex also teamed up with local coffee chain PICKUP COFFEE this year to strengthen its non-fuel retail offerings. The partnership entails PICKUP COFFEE opening up kiosks in retail sites to energize motorists with its espresso-based drinks and excellent customer service. As of January 2026, 20 new booths opened, bringing PICKUP COFFEE’s Caltex locations up to 32.

Reflecting on their partnership with Caltex, PICKUP COFFEE chief executive officer   Francis Flores said, “Our partnership with Caltex reflects our long-standing commitment to serving customers where they may need it the most. We are optimistic that this is the beginning of a long-term relationship—one that is grounded on mutual trust and a commitment to genuine service.”

Caltex also maintained its tie-up with convenience store chain 7-Eleven to open more branches tailored for motorists on the go. In 2025, 5 new 7-Eleven stores propped up in Caltex stations, bringing the total count to 123.

    Impactful social initiatives

Beyond its smart fuel offerings and car maintenance services, Chevron takes pride in its social initiatives spanning various advocacies. This commitment endured in 2025, thanks to its yearly outreach and sustainability programs across Chevron’s subsidiaries.

For instance, Chevron continued its tradition of backing AmCham Foundation Philippines’ ScholaCOLORun, an annual fun run that raises funds to send underprivileged youths to school. This year’s edition attracted a total of 3,458 runners, including 290 participants from CPI and Chevron Holdings Inc. (CHI). Their efforts benefited 109 scholars, proving that every sweat drop was worth it.

Speaking on behalf of the scholars, AmCham President Edwin Feist said, “Here at AmCham, we believe that education is the key to fighting poverty. We are grateful for Chevron and CHI’s support throughout the years, as this partnership has helped many young Filipinos fulfill their potential and provide for their families.”

In September, CPI gathered 250 volunteers across its employees, contractors, and community partners for its annual Coastal Cleanup in San Pascual, Batangas. Together, they collected 232 sacks of trash along the shoreline beside Chevron’s Batangas Terminal, creating an ideal nesting spot for Olive Ridley Sea turtles.

For Chevron’s yearly Volunteer Day, employees from CPI and Caltex Makati Credit Cooperative (CMCC) travelled to Guanella Center, Inc., to bond with beneficiaries with special needs. Through a simple program of exciting games and shared lunch, the volunteers helped their beneficiaries build their social skills, especially with people outside of the residence.

Chevron spent 2025 providing reliable fuels to Filipino motorists and empowering underserved sectors through outreach and sustainability programs.  With 2026 underway, Chevron remains determined to build a future through strategic innovations and enduring social initiatives.

  • Coins.ph records  327% growth in monthly spot trading, breaching USD500M in November 2025

    [ad_1]

Coins.ph, the leading digital asset exchange in the Philippines, has entered the new year with unprecedented momentum, reporting a massive 327% growth based on its most recently available spot trading data.

The exchange recorded a landmark November performance of USD500 million, a nearly fourfold increase from the USD117 million recorded in the same month of 2024.

Coins’ growth trajectory further reached a new peak last week, with the platform hitting an all-time high of USD50 million in daily spot trading volume.

The Coins.ph Spot Trade feature is a professional-grade order-book exchange designed for users who want more control, lower fees, and advanced tools compared to standard retail “Buy/Sell” or “Convert” options. It allows you to trade cryptocurrencies directly with other users at prices determined by market supply and demand.

    The Rise of Stablecoin Utility

The primary driver of this explosive growth in spot trading is the rapid evolution of stablecoins from speculative assets to essential financial infrastructure. Stablecoins like USDT and USDC, digital assets pegged 1:1 to traditional currencies such as the US Dollar,  have emerged as a critical digital bridge for the Philippine economy, where remittances reached USD38.3 billion at the end of 2024.

By offering a faster and more transparent method for cross-border payments than traditional banking rails, stablecoins are now the preferred vehicle for corporate payouts, contractor payments, and supplier disbursements.

“These spot trading milestones are a testament to the critical role stablecoins are playing in modernizing Philippine finance,” stated Wei Zhou, CEO of Coins.ph.  “It signals a strong market appetite for efficient, regulated digital asset trading, especially for our USDT-PHP and USDC-PHP pairs. We anticipate this robust demand will define the trajectory for Coins.ph  and the broader digital asset market throughout 2026.”

    Industry-Leading Liquidity and Efficiency

Coins.ph is also seeing strong trading volumes on its OTC Desk, the exchange’s specialized over-the-counter (OTC) trading service designed for high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and institutional clients who need to execute large-scale transactions without impacting the broader market. The OTC Desk offers deep liquidity, zero slippage, and personalized support for transactions exceeding PHP1,000,000, ensuring price stability even during the largest market movements.

Central to this strong performance is the spread—the difference between the buy and sell price—which Coins.ph has reduced to an industry-low 3 basis points (bps), well below the 12 to 35bps offered by other exchanges. By reducing transaction friction, the platform ensures that high-volume traders retain significantly more value than on other regional and global exchanges.

    Sustaining Momentum for Stablecoin Growth

To sustain the strong stablecoin trading momentum, Coins.ph is leveraging its recent integration into the Circle Payments Network, enabling near-instant, compliant PHP settlements across over 120 domestic banks and e-wallets.

To build deeper awareness of these real-world applications, Coins.ph is actively conducting educational campaigns and roadshows in key cities nationwide. These initiatives aim to help Filipinos harness stablecoins for more efficient, low-cost financial activities.

Ready to trade at scale? For institutional-sized liquidity and unrivaled pricing, contact the Coins.ph TradeDesk team directly at [email protected] or fill out our interest form here: https://www.coins.ph/en-ph/tradedesk#form

  • Samsung Hits 3 Gbps In 6G Milestone: X-MIMO And 7 GHz Tech Explained

    [ad_1]

We know that 5G networks continue to expand globally, but looking ahead, Samsung Electronics has announced a significant technical breakthrough in the development of 6G connectivity. In collaboration with Keysight Technologies and the South Korean operator KT Corporation, Samsung successfully validated its eXtreme MIMO (X-MIMO) technology, reaching data speeds of 3 Gbps.

The 7 GHz frequency range was used for the testing, which was carried out at Samsung’s R&D facility in Seoul. This particular spectrum, which successfully positions itself between the high-frequency millimeter waves used in current 5G deployments and the 3.5 GHz mid-band, is regarded as a prime candidate for future 6G networks because it provides an ideal balance between high data capacity and wide signal coverage.

The X-MIMO system distinguishes itself by using an ultra-high-density antenna array. Key technical highlights include:

    • Increased Density: The system incorporates four times as many antenna elements as standard 5G solutions.

    • Compact Design: Despite the increase in elements, the hardware maintains a manageable physical footprint, which is crucial for urban infrastructure integration.

    • Simultaneous Streams: The demonstration successfully transmitted eight simultaneous data streams to a single mobile device using a 6G base station prototype featuring 256 digital ports.

This validation demonstrates the potential for significant gains in data rates for next-generation communications, according to Samsung Research executives. These tests lay the groundwork for the technical architecture needed for the hyper-connected era, even though official 6G standardization is still pending.

The major development indicates that the 6G transition will prioritize low-latency, high-capacity services that the existing 5G infrastructure might find difficult to provide as data demands increase. In the competition to establish these future network standards, Samsung continues to be a leading player.

  • Iconic Jimny 4×4 gets smarter with Suzuki Safety Support

    [ad_1]

Adventure just reached a whole new level. Suzuki Philippines recently announced that the 2026 Jimny 3-Door now comes equipped with Suzuki Safety Support, bringing advanced driver-assist technology to one of the most iconic and capable 4×4 vehicles in its class.

Long celebrated for its unmistakable boxy design, compact agility, and genuine off-road toughness, the Jimny 3-Door now adds intelligent safety to its list of strengths. This latest upgrade makes the beloved 4×4 not just trail-ready, but even more reassuring for everyday drives and long highway journeys.

At the heart of this update is Suzuki Safety Support, a suite of preventive safety technologies designed to help avoid collisions and reduce driver fatigue. The system includes Dual Sensor Brake Support II (DSBS II), which uses a camera and laser sensor to detect vehicles or pedestrians ahead. When a potential collision is detected, the system issues audio and visual warnings and can automatically apply the brakes if necessary. However, it is important to note that DSBS II is limited by the monocular camera and millimeter-wave radar sensor’s ability to detect obstacles and lanes. Suzuki cautions that drivers should not rely solely on this system, but should always practice safe driving habits. Available in all New Jimny 3-Door variants, Adaptive Cruise Control uses radar and a camera to maintain a preset speed while intelligently adjusting acceleration and braking based on traffic conditions ahead.

Further enhancing confidence behind the wheel, Lane Departure Prevention provides subtle steering assistance when the vehicle begins to drift out of its lane. Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver through audio, visual cues, and steering feedback. The Weaving Alert function monitors driving patterns and issues a buzzer-like sound and dashboard warning if unusual drifting is detected. Meanwhile, High Beam Assist improves nighttime visibility by automatically switching between high and low beams based on surrounding traffic and lighting conditions, activating at speeds of 30 km/h or higher when the headlamp switch is set to auto.

Beyond safety, the Jimny 3-Door also receives practical interior and convenience enhancements. GLX variants now feature a new nine-inch infotainment touchscreen that delivers a more modern and intuitive user experience, complemented by a newly updated colored display in the information gauge cluster that replaces the previous red-orange graphics. Both GL and GLX variants now feature Front Side Airbags and Curtain Airbags, further strengthening occupant protection in the event of a collision. Front parking sensors are now standard across the range, making maneuvering in tight spaces easier. At the same time, the GL variant also gains a reverse camera for added convenience and visibility when backing up.

Under the hood, the Jimny retains its proven 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 102 PS and 130 Nm of torque, paired with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. Its legendary 4×4 ALLGRIP PRO drivetrain continues to deliver authentic off-road capability, allowing drivers to switch between 2WD mode for smooth and fuel-efficient paved driving, 4WD High for added traction on gravel or dirt roads, and 4WD Low for maximum torque when conquering sand, mud, or steep rocky terrain.

With the integration of Suzuki Safety Support and meaningful comfort upgrades, the 2026 Jimny 3-Door evolves into an even more well-rounded adventure companion — one that blends heritage, capability, and modern intelligence in a compact yet highly capable package.

The 2026 Jimny 3-Door with Suzuki Safety Support is available in the following variants: the GL MT SS at PHP1,293,000, the GLX AT SS at PHP1,355,000, and the GLX AT Two-Tone SS at PHP1,365,000.

  • Google Chrome For Windows Testing New Onboarding “Pin To Taskbar” Feature

    [ad_1]

Google is currently testing a revised onboarding strategy for Chrome on Windows, aimed at increasing the browser’s visibility and accessibility. The update, discovered in the Canary experimental channel, as reported by Windows Report, introduces a more prominent prompt during the initial setup process that encourages users to not only set Chrome as their default browser but also to pin the application to the Windows Taskbar.

In previous iterations, the onboarding screen focused primarily on a single toggle to designate Chrome as the primary browser. The new interface features a more explicit layout, including a dedicated button to pin the app directly to the taskbar.

This move is widely seen as a tactical response to Microsoft Edge, which is deeply integrated into the Windows ecosystem and frequently promoted through system-level notifications. By securing a permanent spot on the taskbar, Google aims to ensure Chrome remains the most convenient option for users, even on devices where Edge is the pre-installed default.

The feature is currently in a limited testing phase. While it is not yet part of the stable public release, early adopters and developers can manually trigger the new onboarding experience by navigating to chrome://flags/ and enabling the #first-run-desktop flag.

Google is expected to monitor the effectiveness of this more assertive approach before deciding on a wider rollout. If the “pin-to-taskbar” prompt successfully increases user retention, it will likely become a standard part of the Chrome installation process on Windows in the coming months.

  • Microsoft 365 users targeted in sophisticated ‘vishing’ attack – Tech Digest

    [ad_1]

    Share

    Image: Bleeping Computer. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/hackers-target-microsoft-entra-accounts-in-device-code-vishing-attacks/

Hackers have launched a massive campaign targeting Microsoft 365 and Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) users in a phishing and ‘vishing,’ or voice-based social engineering, attack.

This ongoing operation bypasses standard security measures by exploiting the Microsoft Device Code flow, a feature typically used to authenticate devices, including smart TVs and printers.

The attack begins with a deceptive phone call or a high-priority email notification. Fraudsters often pose as Microsoft technical support or IT security staff, alerting the victim to a “security breach” or a “blocked login attempt” that requires immediate verification.

During the conversation, the attacker instructs the user to visit the legitimate Microsoft device login page and enter a specific eight-digit code provided by the hacker.

    Exploiting human trust

This method is particularly dangerous because it does not rely on a fake website. Instead, it directs users to Microsoft’s official infrastructure, which creates a false sense of security.

Once the victim enters the code, they are essentially granting the attacker’s device authorization to access their account. This allows the hacker to bypass multi-factor authentication (MFA) entirely, as the user has “verified” the session through their own trusted device and credentials.

Targeted are corporate employees and high-level executives within organizations that rely on Microsoft Entra ID for identity management. Because the hackers gain a “primary refresh token,” they can maintain long-term access to the victim’s emails, SharePoint documents and internal chat logs without needing to log in again.

This level of access is often a precursor to business email compromise (BEC) fraud or the deployment of ransomware within a corporate network.

To defend against this campaign, cybersecurity experts emphasize that users should never enter a device code provided to them by an unsolicited caller. Microsoft never uses the device code flow for security verification or identity confirmation over the phone.

Organizations are being urged to implement Conditional Access policies that restrict device code flow to specific, managed devices only. Training staff to recognize that even official-looking login pages can be used for malicious purposes remains the most effective line of defence against this evolving threat.

  • Google boss says research needed on AI threats, Microsoft confirms private emails read by Copilot AI – Tech Digest

    [ad_1]

More research on the threats of artificial intelligence (AI) “needs to be done urgently”,
the boss of Google DeepMind has told BBC News. In an exclusive interview at the AI Impact Summit in Delhi, Sir Demis Hassabis said the industry wanted “smart regulation” for “the real risks” posed by the tech. Many tech leaders and politicians at the Summit have called for more global governance of AI, ahead of an expected joint statement as the event draws to a close. But the US has rejected this stance, with White House technology adviser Michael Kratsios saying: “AI adoption cannot lead to a brighter future if it is subject to bureaucracies and centralised control.” BBC

Elon Musk is suing the EU over a landmark €120m (£105m) fine against his social media company X, accusing Brussels officials of bias. X launched an appeal against December’s fine at the EU General Court earlier this week, in what is the first legal challenge to Europe’s tough digital laws. The challenge will escalate a row between Mr Musk, Brussels and the White House after the Trump administration claimed EU policies are suppressing free speech. Telegraph

Mind is launching a significant inquiry into artificial intelligence and mental health after a Guardian investigation exposed how Google’s AI Overviews gave people “very dangerous” medical advice. In a year-long commission, the mental health charity, which operates in England and Wales, will examine the risks and safeguards required as AI increasingly influences the lives of millions of people affected by mental health issues worldwide. Guardian

An ongoing phishing campaign that targets Microsoft 365 users by abusing OAuth tokens to gain long‑term access to corporate data, which focuses on business users in North America and aims to compromise Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive without directly stealing passwords. Instead of attacking login pages with fake forms, the operators trick victims into completing a real sign‑in process on Microsoft’s own device login portal, which makes the attack harder for both users and basic security tools to spot. Microsoft has confirmed that a bug allowed its Copilot AI to summarize customers’ confidential emails for weeks without permission.
The bug, first reported by Bleeping Computer, allowed Copilot Chat to read and outline the contents of emails since January, even if customers had data loss prevention policies to prevent ingesting their sensitive information into Microsoft’s large language model. Copilot Chat allows paying Microsoft 365 customers to use the AI-powered chat feature in its Office software products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Techcrunch

If you want an even better AI model, there could be reason to celebrate. Google, on Thursday, announced the release of Gemini 3.1 Pro, characterizing the model’s arrival as “a step forward in core reasoning.” Measured by the release cadence of machine learning models, Gemini 3.1 Pro is hard on the heels of recent model debuts from Anthropic and OpenAI. There’s barely enough time to start using new US commercial AI models before a competitive alternative surfaces. And that’s to say nothing about the AI models coming from outside the US, like Qwen3.5. TheRegister
