(FOX40.COM) — A major injury collision in Woodland left one person hospitalized on Halloween night.

On Friday, at around 10:17 p.m., the California Highway Patrol dispatch center began receiving calls reporting a two-vehicle collision involving a Toyota and a BMW on southbound Interstate 5, north of County Road 22, within the Yolo Bypass.
CHP said around 10:21 p.m., the first unit arrived at the scene to help the parties involved. However, upon arrival, crews were initially unable to locate one of the individuals involved in the crash.
CHP indicated that they were later informed that one of the parties may have fallen from the Yolo Bypass.
A CHP Air Unit was requested, along with allied agencies, to assist in locating the missing individual, CHP stated. With the help of the air unit, the fire department, and the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, the individual was located beneath the Yolo Bypass.
Authorities mentioned that the person was transported to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. At this time, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
