Woman shot in ankle by boyfriend trying to shoot her ex-boyfriend, Sacramento County sheriff says

(FOX40.COM) — A woman was accidentally shot in the ankle Saturday in Rio Linda, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.

According to the sheriff’s office, the woman and her current boyfriend went to a previous boyfriend.

The sheriff’s office said the two men began fighting and the woman’s current boyfriend attempted to shoot her ex-boyfriend but shot her ankle instead.

According to the sheriff’s office, the woman and her boyfriend left and were briefly pursued by authorities before being detained.

The woman was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
