An 87-year-old woman died two days after being hit by a vehicle in Woodland, officials say.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A woman died over the weekend, just two days after she was struck by a vehicle in Woodland, officials said.
The Woodland Police Department said the crash happened Friday between a vehicle and a pedestrian near West Cross and California streets.
Police said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. There were no signs that the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The pedestrian was identified as 87-year-old Marilyn Ann Scholz of Woodland. She was taken to a hospital with major injuries.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office said Scholz died Sunday. The cause of death has not been released.
The crash remains under investigation.
