Woman dies at Fairfax County bus stop, police investigating as homicide

Officers said the woman had suffered “trauma to her upper body” but did not further elaborate.

HYBLA VALLEY, Va. — Police are investigating after a woman died at a bus stop in Hybla Valley Monday night.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, someone called 911 after finding a woman who appeared hurt at a bus stop near Richmond Hwy and Arlington Drive shortly after 7 p.m. 

Police say the victim, only identified as a woman, was found at the bus stop with trauma to the upper body. FCPD did not further elaborate. She was later pronounced dead by first responders. 

Detectives are investigating the woman’s death as a homicide. No suspect information has been released, and it is unclear what happened in the moments leading up to the woman’s death.
