(KRON) — Firefighters are battling a 118-acre wildfire burning in Dublin, according to the latest information from Cal Fire.
The fire, named the “Parks Fire,” ignited around 3:23 p.m. on the U.S. Army Camp Parks military base, according to the City of Dublin. The fire was initially estimated at 40 acres, but as of 5:25 p.m., the blaze has nearly tripled in size.
“Camp Parks Fire Department is working on a fast-moving … vegetation fire burning on the base,” the City of Dublin shared on social media Friday evening. “No buildings are threatened at this time.”

Pickett Fire near Calistoga now 7% contained
The Alameda County Fire Department and the San Ramon Valley Fire Department are also assisting with the fire. The San Ramon Valley Fire Department has six engines fighting the fire on the northern end of Camp Parks near Bollinger Canyon Road.
As of 9:19 p.m., the fire is 75% contained. The Parks Reserve Forces Training Area issued the following statement on social media.
“No structures or buildings were damaged by the fire,” the Parks Reserve Forces Training Area stated on Facebook. “Ground and airborne firefighting assets from PRFTA, Alameda County, Livermore Pleasanton and Cal Fire were utilized to combat the fire.”
The cause of the Parks Fire remains under investigation. No evacuation orders have been issued.
