The nominations are categorised by motion pictures, television, radio, recording, live theatre/ performance and sports entertainment.
From these categories: those nominated by their fans will be selected to form a list of approximately 24-30 names.
The committee receives 200 applications on average, per year.
Multiple screenings take place for one to score a star.
