PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Isolated thunderstorms remain in the forecast across western Oregon and southwest Washington on Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Afternoon highs will stay cool in the mid-70s on Tuesday afternoon. Oregon’s thunderstorm potential remains greatest over the Cascades through central Oregon. Mostly cloudy skies will remain across the Pacific Northwest, but one or two of those clouds could produce brief rain showers and potentially some lightning and thunder.

Rain accumulation through Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday morning will remain isolated. Those who do see rain could rack up at least a quarter of an inch.

Air quality improvements continue as rain showers ramp up over some of Oregon’s worst wildfires. Some lingering wildfire smoke will remain, but air quality across the Pacific Northwest will move east of the valley.
