Super Bowl LX is here and fans across America are picking sides. To find out who your state is rooting for, check out the results below!
The NFL season has flown by, and now the biggest game in American sports has arrived = the New England Patriots vs the Seattle Seahawks.
No matter who you’re backing, this Super Bowl match-up already has fans fired up nationwide. Seattle are 4/9 favourites in the latest Super Bowl betting markets, but as any true football fan knows – the NFL’s showpiece event is never easy to predict, and this year will be no different.
What is a little easier to predict is which states will be supporting which team – but even then, some statistics might surprise you. To crunch the numbers, we analysed social media sentiment since the Super Bowl teams were confirmed, and the results were as follows:
Which states are backing the Patriots vs Seahawks?
Based on the data, the Seahawks are the clear national favourite, leading in the vast majority of states. Less popular, the Patriots draw their strongest support from New England, where they are of course, the hometown team – but maybe that support will be enough to get them over the line!

Overall, the Seahawks are backed in a staggering 35 states, while the Patriots lead in just 10 states. At least that’s based on positive social sentiment since the conclusion of championship weekend. Home states show up like you’d expect: Massachusetts is firmly Patriots territory, with 50% positive sentiment for New England compared to 40% for Seattle, while Washington is overwhelmingly behind the Seahawks, posting a huge 66% fan score versus 34% for the Patriots.
The wider Pacific Northwest is also leaning towards the Seattle Seahawks. That’s as Idaho, for example, comes in strong at 62% for the Seahawks, while Oregon follows with 57%, showing that regional support extends way beyond Washington itself.
Some states show especially heavy Seahawks momentum. For instance, Nebraska matches Idaho at 62%, while Tennessee and Utah both sit at 59%. Kansas and North Carolina are also clearly leaning towards the Seahawks with positivity scores of 58%.
Even though the Patriots aren’t winning many states overall, they still have a few pockets of support outside New England. Mississippi narrowly edges toward New England at 40% to 38%, and Oklahoma also leans in the Patriots’ favour at 40% versus 36%. Virginia (38% to 35%) and West Virginia (38% to 33%) round out the select few states where New England holds a slight advantage.
With the Seahawks leading in most states, they enter this matchup as the popular pick across the country, but make no mistake – no matter who you’re backing – this Super Bowl has all the ingredients for a classic.
Methodology
This analysis was conducted using social listening technology to track and measure fan sentiment across major social media platforms, including X, Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit.
The “fan score” for each location represents the percentage of posts expressing positive sentiment towards either the New England Patriots or the Seattle Seahawks in the 7 days following the AFC & NFC Championship Games.
Data correct as of February 2nd, 2026.
Data was taken from 45 states. There was insufficient data in Alaska, Hawaii, Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
