ALTAMONT, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Fair season continues in upstate New York with the annual Altamont Fair. Organizers boast fun for the whole family.
On Tuesday the 13th, opening day, tickets are just $10 for everyone 11 years and up. 10 years and under get in for free.
Attractions include the Demolition Derby, Corgi races, the Lucky 8 rodeo, and vendors serving up the classic fair fare like funnel cakes and corndogs.
You can’t miss the 110-foot tall ferris wheel at the carnival. Fair manager Amy Anderson ensures the rides are as safe as they are exhilarating.
“The department of labor is here, and they inspect us with a fine-tooth comb, and they go through every nut and every bolt to make sure that everything is put together properly. These are some of the safest rides around,” Anderson said.
The full fair schedule details the timing of events and tips to enjoy the fair.
