Wet weather back in big way this week around Oregon and Washington

[ad_1]

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) —  After a mostly dry and mild Sunday, we are moving back under rain showers and soaking rain at times to start off the new week.

With rain returning to the forecast this week, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday look to be the wettest days around the Portland metro area.

Monday’s total rain amounts could be anywhere from a half-inch in Portland to closer to three-quarters of an inch. And, the evening commute on Monday looks to be a difficult one with heavy rain expected.

Those windshield wipers will most likely be working overtime this week.

By mid-week, a low-pressure system will move in to bring more wet and windy conditions to the region. The system could bring along blustery moments on Wednesday and Thursday with southerly wind gusts up to 35 mph around the metro area.

There’s also a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms from late Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Weather Alerts

The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for portions of the southern Washington coast and northern Oregon coast from Raymond, Washington stretching down to Seaside, Oregon that is set to go into effect on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
