Box Office: ‘Argylle’ Misfires With $18 Million Debut https://t.co/SCWjVP4rJe

The dead of winter continues being a dead zone at the movie theaters.
Argylle opened this weekend in 3,605 theaters to a big time flop $18 million. The $200 million, one-trailer as promo film didn’t make any impact whatsoever with audiences, also scoring a C+ Cinemascore, 3 stars from PostTrak and a 2.5 on Letterboxd. A total disaster. The film took in $35 million globally. Not a huge loss for Apple of course, but a major major misfire.
The Chosen: Season 4 Episodes 1-3 came in 2nd with $6 million from 2,263 theaters. The Beekeeper ($5.28M, -21%), Wonka ($4.7M, -16%), and Migration ($4.11M, -16%) rounded out the Top 5.
American Fiction expanded to 1,902 theaters, dropping only 11% for a $2.3 million gross. The Zone of Interest continues its small rollout, expanding to 594 theaters, jumping 9% from last weekend to gross $1.1 million.
Next weekend: Lisa Frankenstein, Out of Darkness
