Wednesday forecast: Hot and humid again, multiple rounds of storms possible
[ad_1]
If you’re seeking relief from the heat and humidity in Chicagoland, you’ll need to go indoors, because it won’t come on the last day of July.
Wednesday continues the run of hot and humid weather, with air temperatures reaching around 90 degrees. But with high dew points and a steady southwest breeze, it will feel more like the mid- to upper 90s, maybe even 100 in some locations.
Air temps were in the upper 60s to lower 70s as the sun started to come up Wednesday, with dew points close to the same, in the mid- to upper 60s. That means high humidity and patchy fog around Chicagoland for the morning commute.

Multiple rounds of storms are also tracking toward the area over the next 24 to 48 hours.
The first line is moving into the north and west portions of Illinois early Wednesday morning. This will bring increasing clouds and a chance for storms to Chicagoland in the late morning to early afternoon hours, but for now, the strongest part of that line of storms looks to be tracking to the south by the time it moves into our area.

After that line moves through, Wednesday afternoon looks to be dry and sunny, which will keep things sizzling outside.
Then, another line of storms looks to move through overnight into the very early hours of Thursday morning. These storms could be strong, if not severe, and could bring lingering rain into the Thursday morning commute. However, the strongest of that line of storms is projected to move to the southeast.

Yet another round of storms is then possible Thursday in the late afternoon to evening hours, carrying a slight severe risk as of now.

Friday will cool off a little, with high temps in the low 80s and scattered storms possible, but it’ll still be humid. A quieter weather pattern looks to settle in for the weekend, but high temps remain in the upper 80s.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy, overnight storm chance, winds S at 0-5 mph. Low: 73.
TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy, chance for AM/late-day storms, humid, winds S at 5-10 mph. High: 89.
