Weather Discussion:

Waking up to ongoing showers and isolated thunderstorms this morning. Mainly seeing rain affecting the mountains and areas along and south of the I-85 corridor. Rainfall totals between .25″-.5″ expected. Colder air slides in overnight with the potential for some wrap around moisture leading to snow for the mountains. A front drops through the region Saturday bringing a quick shot of snow for the mountains. Above 3500′ we could see up to 1-2″ of snow. For areas above 4000′ there will be 2-4″ of snow with higher amounts possible closer to the TN border. Showers and a fews storms will move east of the mountains Saturday afternoon with highs in the mid 50s. Cold Sunday morning with temps in the 20s and low 30s. It will be cool and sunny during the day with highs in the mid 50s. Warming up next week with temps reaching the upper 60s to lower 70s. Watching for a potential severe threat mid to late week.
