Weather Impact Alert through Tuesday
[ad_1]
PORTLAND, Oregon — Sunny with record heat expected the next several days.
The Excessive Heat Warning continues through 8 P.M. Monday and may be extended into Tuesday.
Portland peaked at 92°; (Vancouver: 90°, Troutdale: 93°, Salem hit 94°) We expect to tack on 5 to 8 degrees today as we’re off to a warmer start, and the airmass above us is also warming.
We’re headed for 100-degrees or warmer Friday through Tuesday, with the hottest days being Sunday & Monday around 104-degrees. All of those triple-digit days will make for new daily record highs at PDX, where records date back to 1941. Coincidentally, that’s the only other time on record where PDX ripped off 5 consecutive 100-degree days.
Overnight temperatures will stay around 70-degrees, offering minimal relief from the heat.
We should finally see highs cool to the low 90s Wednesday, but temperatures will likely stay 10 to 15 degrees above average through next week.
Try to stay hydrated and avoid strenuous activity if at all possible.
Stay cool and have a great Friday
